By far an amazing Prof!! He made me want to come to class!!! First time i've ever liked and understood biology!!!

I'm a business major and still got an A. Not saying it was easy but if you work hard there is no reason not to get a great grade. 3 tests-2 were open book/notes. 2 lab practicals that were easy if you just study. No homework, lecture boring at times but would definitely recommend to anyone who is not confident in this subject. Very nice guy

Definitely the best professor to have! A&P is a difficult course, but Prof LaBella formulates the class so that it is easy to understand. I took it online and it truly was a wonderful experience.

i never took notes, i literately GUESSED every answer on my final exam and i got a 100. he is AWESOME. he's totally down to earth and laid back. i would absolutely recommend him.. and dont buy the book its like $150 and i never even cracked it open. Loved him, though. Take his class. It's an easy A, i promise.

One of the best professors I've had. His lectures cover everything but he explains it all in a way that is very comprehensible and relevant. All the notes are provided online, and the tests are short but to the point. If you are a good learner and listener, all you need to do is show up to get an A.

Marc was awesome! I had two of his online classes at the same time (bio and a&p) and did awesome (A in both). He is always available and usually responds to email on the same day. The learning modules were a little boring at times, but the text book was most useful. If you didn't do well in his class, then you didn't try hard enough!

Took him for Bio I online, alot of work. But if you do the labs and do decent on tests, this class shouldn't be a problem. Labs are very long!

Nice guy, who will help you succeed in his class. Tests were a tad difficult at times, but he always curved them. Plus the blueprints (study guides) helped. Just come to class, do a little studying, ask questions and you should be fine. I wish all my profs could be like him.

Good professor. Labs are EASY. Gives a lot of notes that are specific and never test you on the details, which can make deciphering which info to study difficult. You definitely need to study for the exams, but they are curved so your grade usually gets bumped up a lot.

Professor Labella is an awesome teacher! His lectures are very clear and concise and he uses great analogies that help students understand exactly what he is talking about! He is willing to answer ANY questions you may have. He is such a good teacher I chose him for my Bio 2 class as well.

Excellent professor. Willing to help out students and answer any questions you have. The tests are somewhat difficult (I've failed each one I've taken so far) but they're online so you don't have to worry about sitting in a classroom for them. Freindly guy overall who loves to talk with his students after class about general topics. Reccomend!

Took online. Great teacher, would highly recommend!! Hard multiple choice tests even with an open book, but he gives you practice tests, and two chances to take each exam, only counts the higher grade. Very generous marker when it comes to discussions and labs. Just do the work and get pictures of you doing it. I would definitely take him again if

Fair class. Tests and quizzes are fairly easy. You get to take them online at your convenience with your book and notes. I mean come on. He really is a great professor that cares for his students and is so full of interesting facts and knowledge. I would definitely reccommend him to anyone.

Proffesor LaBella is an azmaing teacher. Bio lectures can be long and boring, but he keeps the class involved and interested. He also posts lessons online if you need to review certain chapters. He is clear with test and exam dates, and is willing to help whenever he is needed. Tests online, two chances. Taking him for BIO2!

I first took him for Bio, he is the best teacher I could have ever asked for. I took him again for Bio 2, and then did A&P online with him as well. Someone already said this, but it is worth it to reiterate it. I took him for Bio long ago and did A&P online over the summer. I wish he could just teach everything especially Chem. OCC really needs to work on Chem. He's such a fantastic professor and left very little to question. If your education means anything to you, take him. Seriously.

Took A&P 1 Online this semester. While its a very difficult class, Pro. LaBella makes it as easy as it can be. I struggled throughout the semester but that was because of the subject and not the professor. Very fair grader. I highly recommend him. He's great!

Very good teacher,during his lectures he touches on things that are hard to understand and explain them so they actually make sense, he'll also draw pictures to help and tell stories that'll help.he's on your side and does everything he can to help you pass weather you love bio or hate it, an all around good guy and wants you to take away something

As someone who doesn't like Biology, I thought LaBella taught a great class. It was challenging for me since I'm not very good at Biology, but he made the content interesting, even when the terms went over my head. Also, all of his tests are online, which means you don't have to do as much memorization beforehand.

Awesome lab professor, keep a good notebook and you'll get a hundred on notebook checks (half your grade). Super nice guy, really smart/really cares about students, kinda cute in an awkward way. There is one test online at end of semester but you have two tries and he gives you a study guide. Take him!

Loved this professor. Took him for lecture and lab. His tests are online and correspond with the notes from class, so its not hard to fail. He checks your lab notebook which is half your grade and I got 100 on both checks. Very easy-going professor. Definitely take him!

Prof LaBella comes across very strict and sometimes a little harsh but he just wants you to do the work and communicate with him along the way. He is very fair and as long as you give it a little effort you will do well. Keep up... Its easy to fall behind.

Professor Labella is the man! He knows exactly what he's saying and is passionate about Biology. I enjoyed him very much as a teacher! The tests are online and right off the notes he gives during lecture, he is very informative and has a great attitude while teaching. I enjoyed his class very much and recommend him to anyone!

Labella is witty, knowledgable, and values your time! Class is challenging but no one received less than a B final grade. He is an expert in all things science and truly loves teaching. NOTE- his class is not for the squeamish! Cat and organ dissections almost every week. One lab requires you to stick yourself with needles to draw blood.

Professor Labella is amazing for biology! He was always very responsive when i asked questions and was very efficient at getting graded material back fast. Labs with him are really interesting as long as you do the work, you will get a good grade.I am so sad that he didn't tech biology II this semester. I got suck with "A. ConsanI" who is awful...

Excellent online exper. Answers emails quickly, gives basic but good feedback. Must buy the kit & microscope and show pictures of work. Can draw charts and observations. As long as u do the labs & participate, should receive an A. Since its open book, I found searches key to answering test questions. Bio is a lot of work but is spread out evenly.

Prepare for a lot of reading. Taking it online, you have to perform cat dissection at home. LaBella is a great Professor so don't insult his intelligence but attempting to cheat. You will not get over on this guy! Exams are not that easy but you do get two tries on them. An A is possible in this class with studying and a little effort on the labs.

Professor LaBella is a true gem. He is an excellent professor and a very fair grader. If you do the work, you will do great in his class. The labs are very time consuming, but you will really learn A&P. He is always available for questions and gets back to you in an instant! Highly highly recommend him.

Took Professor LaBella for the online Freshman Year Seminar class. Very clear outlined, he is very on top of things and your assignments. It's very easy to follow, as he does a great job of keeping you informed on a daily basis. If you do the work, there's no reason you won't get an A. Would definitely recommend if you're thinking about online.

First off I will say I am taking him this semester coming up again for A&PII(Biology131). He was the best. Very flexible and understanding. We all have lives outside of the classroom and he gets it. I think it would be impossible to fail this class. Do what you are supposed to do, show some effort and you will be fine.

I took his on-line course and I have to say he is an outstanding Professor I give him a perfect ten. You will learn a lot from him. He communicates through video which is a plus I feel that it is nice to see a face behind the name. The assignments, labs and tests are not difficult as long as you study.

I would def take him again. Was super disappointed that he didn't have the summer classes that I needed to take. I thought he was so nice and very good till I started my new semester and realized he was absolutely AMAZING. Fast grader, answers all questions prompt. Lets you know if he won't be around and not online for a few days. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Professor LaBella is one of the best professors I've had. I took A&P I and II online thinking it was going to be so stressful but it was not. He is very clear about what he expects from you and is very helpful. He grades assignments immediately so you are not left guessing at what your grade is. Put in the effort and you will get an A!

Prof Labella is amazing. He is a quick grader with very personal feedback. As long as you put in the effort and study you will get a good grade. Please don't take AP 1&2 online if you think you can cheat your way through it. These are time consuming classes and if you're not going to put in effort you're not going to do well.

I had Prof. LaBella last semester and he was wonderful. He is very professional and helpful if you don't understand something. He grades quickly and you are able to access your labs early to get ahead. I recommend taking him for a&p 1 and 2!

I took professor LaBella for A&P 1 accelerated and 2 (10 week summer) both online and it was the best decision. He informs you on what is due each week and labs are easy and what I like is that you go at your own pace so you learn so much! Was pretty simple as long as you stay on top of the deadlines. Ended both classes with an A

LaBella is a great professor. He is actively involved with his students online by responding with videos to better convey materials, changes, and updates. He is very understanding. The online course was difficult for me at first but I asked questions and he answered promptly and effectively which made my navigation and studies less complicated.

Dr. Labella is awesome. If someone has a negative comment it's truly because of their own laziness. He answers emails within minutes, and he is VERY clear of what he expects out of his students. I have taken him for every science course and have never had an issue.

Professor LaBella has been my instructor for both the online Anatomy and Physiology I & II. He is extremely accessible and provides grades and feedback within 24 hours. He is upfront about his expectations and policies for the class; while the class is quite rigorous, he does an excellent job preparing students for pre-professional exams.

He is very nice and gives comments on each submission. If you miss out on some points, you are able to revise lab reports - Meaning you can retake selfies and post them and bumps up your grade. Very patient and honest. Good feedback..

Professor Labella is the true gem at OCCC. As a visiting student from Rutgers-NB, one thing I must say about the Professor is he really cares for the students and want them to success. Lots of materials to study, but it's anatomy & physiology. Hard work with medium effort will give you the highest possible grade. Such a humble professor.

Easy to understand expectations . I was concerned about taking an on line course however, Prof Labella is easily accessible and fair. I think the course has the perfect balance of labs,quizzes,discussions and papers. I would take his other classes. No surprises.

AMAZING professor, would take again in a heart beat. 3 discussions that are a 2-3 paragraphs. 3 papers that are 500 words each. Labs are easy, just give yourself time to do them. Tests are very hard, but he curves a lot. If you get a 70 it can go up to a 80-90 easily. He grades easily and fairly, just do the work and do it on time! Easy A!

An amazing professor who loves what he does, and displays it through feedback, and wanting to help you get better. Initially thought the class would be super hard and the professor would be tough, but Mr. Labella does a fine job in giving you timely feedback while also pointing out when you make mistakes. Professor LaBella has amazing lectures; clear and interesting with lots of extra info. All homework is graded that day, usually that hour, and feedback is clear. He curves tests for questions that most students got wrong.

It is more about the type of course than the professor. It was a distance learning course and it was very difficult. I did not feel like there was much direction. Exams would not match coursework and there was really no guide. I studied extremely hard and the exams hurt me. The labs are long, but he is very generous when grading. No actual lectures

Attendance wasnt part of your grade so i stopped going to his lectures because I found what worked for me was to just study off the practice exams. Basically was giving you the exam two days before to study. Nice guy, youll pass bio if you study the practice exams. Only four grades in the whole semseter which are 4 exams so kinda stressful

I took labella for A&P 1 and I loved him. Hes extremely nice and caring. He shows you what will be on the exam and you can study off the practice quizzes. I went on and off to class but I knew about two weeks into his class I was going to do just fine! TAKE HIM!!!

I went to a couple lectures but stopped going the last 2 months as the slides he reads off of in class are posted in canvas. There are 4 exams taken on Honor Lock that make up your whole grade. If you already have previous knowledge of Bio you should be just fine. Super chill and easy professor. Would take again.

Had him for lab and he was amazing. Only has 3 grades for lab and one is a guaranteed 100.The 2 Lab practicals are online not proctored but you most likely won't find the answers online. He makes lab enjoyable and is very funny. I would take him again.

I have taken him for both introductory anatomy and physiology and bio and he is a joy to be around. his lectures are informative and interesting and he truly cares about his students. Professor Labella is AMAZING! Attendance is not mandatory, but it's suggested you go to learn the material for the practicals since those are what makes or breaks your grade. You take all of your quizzes and exams at home. Honorlock with exams, but the quiz IS YOUR STUDY GUIDE. If you study that, YOU WILL ACE YOUR EXAM! Really sad he is retiring :(

This man knows his stuff! Prof Labella is a brilliant professor who is also super funny and relatable. Graded on only quizzes and tests, but quizzes are open book and if you do well on the first 2 tests, he lets you use notes on the last 2 tests. Had a great time in his class, sad he's retiring this semester.
