He's very good. If there's something you don't understand he will go over it until it's clear. His exams are multiple choice and straight from the lecture notes and HW. He tries his best to make it interesting. If u do the work and attend class u'll pass

I took him in fall, 03. He is a good teacher who tries his best to help out students. He gives curve during midterm, and replace the lower grade with higher grade obtained in the exam. He also assign two project which is worth 20 points of final grade.

I think he is the best professor I've taken thus far. He is very helpful. His class is not easy, but if you do the homework and attend class everyday, you will do well.

Great teacher, very helpful, gives real life examples, and at the end of class tells you great jokes. Gives big curve as much as 25%. also replace midterm with final if you do bad in midterm, and vice versa.

His classes are not even close to easy but he is by far one of the best teachers at Queens College. If only he started teaching some of the more advanced courses, then maybe I would actualy learn something.

When he actually teaches, he does a good job. However he wastes a lot of time telling corny jokes and talking about hwo knows what. And he has no problem keeping you late. Not hard as a teacher

His jokes are cheesy,he keeps the class for a few extra minutes a lot of times & he gives and checks hw.But he's a really good teacher.He doesn't mind repeating himself, he really cares about the class progress. He explains things clearly and goes along with most of what's in the book.

he acts like a child when he teaches in class. he makes really cheesy jokes and he has a rather disturbing problem with picking up his pants constantly. he is a descent professor but he will work you like a dog. i recommend professor hornung.

THis professor can teach but do not take him for 201 due to me experiencing him screw me with a D+ after i did so much hard work and always came to class.

Professor Levine is a very nice guy. His jokes are funny as well. He tries very hard and cares about his student's progress. However, his tests are challenging and tricky. Midterm was curved 22 points but the final wasn't. Assigns two computer projects and class participation is taken into account. Make sure you take good notes to do well.

he took his 101 class way to serious. he was so hard. he came to class late and made us stay late every day, no joke. his test were hard and he is hard to understand in class.

Best professor at QC.You will learn a lot and it will pay off when you study for the CPA...as I am witnessing right now.He is vaery fair with grades and gives you what you deserve.So if you're not a lazy type and wanna work hard and learn a lot, take him.It will pay off in long run.Not that many prof care about students as much as Levine.

He is really good prof. and teaches very clear, if you are doing in acc101 and 102, he will make all the stuff up for you.

He is a very nice professor, but he will keep you an extra 20 min. every class. Also, he will get mad if you don't do your homework, he will spot check the class so you will never know who will be check!!! Also, he tells the class a lot of jokes :( which makes the class longer!

Not only is Levine a great teacher but he is a great philosopher, philanthropist and patriot. I personally witnessed him save thousands of American lives while utterly sacrificing his own. If you not only want to learn about accounting, but desire to explore the depths your soul for a life changing experience, then you have found your man.

Avoid at all costs. I got an A for the course but would never take him again. Not only is he extremely boring, but as everyone noted he comes late and we have to face the consequences of his lateness by having to stay longer PAST the already suffocating 2 hour boring lecture (again, with no breaks). And if you do take him, you better do your work

Take at your own risk... 201 is a really tough course! Tests are difficult, since the major is intense itself. Make sure you take good notes. Material is boring most of the times. Levine is a very nice guy though.

Gud prof.,concerned about his students but the course/material is tough so you'll get what you deserve. You shud participate in class bcuz if U participate alot,he might raise ur grade. levine tries hard to teach but at the same time his test are very tricky and he doesnt give you any help even if u participate like crazy and everyone in the class knows ur name because of it. overall i guess he is ok but he definately is not as good as everyone says he is.

Awesome professor knows everything! He gives a lot of notes, clear & helpful and always make sure you understand. He memorizes your name if you participate. He gives out "A"s if you study hard & show your work. He becomes very emotional at the end of the semester cuz he loves his students and treasure the time we spend with him. Highly recommand!

avoid this guy if u can.... he goes wayyyyy to hard... u can participate all u want and he would fail you if your grades dont match.....AVOID THIS GUY

I'm taking his class right now and I'm enjoying it so much that it is the only class I haven't missed a day. He loves his teaching and he is very funny. He's casual and friendly. He likes hard work and you'll love that if you're a hard worker. I loves this major and I will take as many classes as I can with him. Highly recommend for HARD WORKDERS!!

Nice guy for sure and really wants to see everyone do good. He makes an effort to cover things that'll be on the CPA, which is good but can make things more difficult. He wasn't easy, but maybe the class isn't easy? Was also reachable outside of class if you needed him. Overall nice guy, I'd say good professor.

Dr. Levine is the best there is. He does keep the class late everyday which is annoying, but he will teach you every last detail about Accounting. Has a vast amount of knowledge on the subject. Homeworks are checked sporadically, tests aren't terrible, but aren't easy either. He is the deputy chair for the department, so its good he knows his stuff

For those that want to just pass your course and get closer to cpa hes not your guy and you will hate him as you could have read by now. for those that are passionate about accounting and want to learn and do hard work and study and be prepared for future job well take him.

Levine is cool, takes his time and tries to make sure you learn what he is teaching. Hard tests but this is what you do. DONT MISS CLASS, his notes are crucial. 2 projects, and tests, you should study your notes, use text book for specific thing you dont understand, and then do the hw for the chps. a lot of work. but fair and helpful professor.

I must admit I really expected to pass his class, and I just found out I failed. I am devastated. Now I can't take cost accounting. He is extremely difficult and does not take into consideration students attending class everyday. His class is very challenging.

The truth is that this professor challenges his students to become better. I consider this professor to be a tough grader but he does care about his students and knows his topics inside and out. He is a CPA and assist chairman at QC. Hard work is necessary to pass this course. Would recommend.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you do go to class and don't have the HW done he may call you out on it. His lectures are very helpful in understanding the course..I'll put it this way-if you take Levine he will teach you the material, not expect you to teach it to yourself. Tests are difficult but there is a big curve(at least on the midterm)

All I know is that this guy fails tons of people. His exams are tricky, you never know what the hell he is asking in his exams. For instance, the questions mentions about taxes but the answer is something else. Although, I got a B in his class I wish his exams were more straight foward. If you fail his midterm you're done.

Prof. Levine has a nice personality, but he has a horrible grading system. A midterm and a final, he also gives an excel project to improve your grade, but if you don't pass his midterm or final that excel project is useless, well you might end up with a D or D+.

Hes not good, but not that bad. He fails people as youve already known. As a 4 years college course, his class is normal to be hard. However his most serious problem is that he always ignore the time. He ends class ALWAYS at least 10-20 min late, which I do not accept. His tests are unreasonably diffcult.

Professor Levine is a master of his craft. If you're not five years old, work hard in class and actually intend on learning accounting, there's no other professor to take. The tests are -not- hard if you have a brain and study. He makes them as easy as possible considering the material. He is always willing to help. Great professor, just work hard!

Professor Levine is one of the best instructors I had in queens college. He takes pride in his students and works hard to make sure that his students understand the material. It's a long class so he tells jokes to keep his studenst awake. overall great guy and even a better teacher. u wont regreat taking him.

He's a good professor. He does go over time a lot. This can get very annoying, especially if you have a class right after his. He tries to make sure the class understands the material before moving on.

A really nice and funny guy. a decent lecturer. Gives a nice amt of hmwk and checks to see if it was done. goes overtime abt 5-7 mins/ class which gets a bit annoying. curves if necessary. sweetheart of a guy, but dont know if i'd recommend him for acct 201.

Excellent professor. His classes usually go over the normal time but he is just trying to teach you and give you more information. He cares about his students. I thought the exams were easy. I also love his jokes.

Midterm35% final 45% 2 projects worth 10% If you get 15 pts higher on final count the final 55% midterm 25% midterm was fairly easy, the final wasn't hard but it was just too much.studied so much but got overwhelmed with the amt of work to study did bad on final,cramps way too much work U will pass exams if u focus on the hw ques. He is the GREATEST accounting professor i haven seen. He cares about his students a lot. He sends extra handout, gives lot of examples during the classes, and goes over all hw problems. The midterm and final are straight forward, if you do the hw and read the note that he gave. Trust me, you won't regret taking his class.

Quite laid back professor. Kept the class going with his personal episodes and refreshing jokes. Very informative. Humane and golden-hearted. Covered every topic. Moderately hard MCQs. Terrible handwriting - made me not want to read his notes. Soft-spoken. 9/10 ran over time. Strict about calculator. Good luck.

He is really corny and boring, but he is the nicest man you'll ever come across. He wants students to do well so he curves A LOT. 2 tests, HW, and two easy projects. He goes at least 10-15 minutes overtime every class so plan accordingly. Don't buy the GAAP book! He doesn't use it!

His lectures are confusing most of the time and his notes are pretty much not legible, but his slides are fantastic! He's a sweet professor always offers help just not during class..always go during office hours and he'll help. Two projects at the end of the semester which he practically gives the answers to one of them. Midterm and Final are MC.

Well, 201 is a hard course and he doesn't make it easier. Tests are hard but if you understand the HW problems and exercises, you will do fine on the test at least in the MCQs that are mini problems and most of the test will be mini problems in MCQ format. Horrible handwriting, will have hard time copying from the board. Gives the ans to the HWs.

He's great. His handwriting is hard to read but that's my only complaint. He is a very fair professor and he's really nice. You have to put the work in & you need to make sure your accounting basics are strong prior to 201 otherwise this class will be really hard for you. I liked his stories & jokes they made class more fun. Would take again.

Just understand the homework and his PowerPoint slides

Professor Levine is the best prof. ever. ACCT 201 is sometimes challenging and he makes the best effort to explain everything until everyone understands. As long as you understand the homework you will do perfectly fine on the exam. Totally recommend to take him, you will have a strong basis for future courses and he teaches in a very clear way.

Really isn't that hard to begin with. Midterm and a Final. He explains the topic thoroughly but takes up too much time. As long as you study, the exams shouldn't be all too difficult.

Two exams, two projects, homework of each chapter. The second project is a little hard, but if you do good in exams, you'll be fine. Exams are fair.

It's a tough course no matter who you choose you have to be willing to do the work but he is your best choice at queens college. He is in charge of the department and a very good professor I took him my first semester at queens college wish more professor at queens college were like him. hes very articulate and cares about his students passing.

Very intelligent man. He has an evident passion for what he does and truly cares about making sure his students do well. The class isn't easy however. You really need to go to class especially during the second half of the semester.

If you truly want to be an Accounting major, he is the man it take. Students who wrote poor reviews are simply too lazy to work hard for an A and their poor work ethic will be reflected on the CPA exam. The class will be difficult but it is in any future Accountant's best interest to take Dr. Levine.

Best professor in Queens College. If you are serious about accounting or becoming serious take him. He shows his dedication to his students, which is rare these days. He might retire soon, but catch him for Accounting . Obviously you have to put in the work, and if you do he will know.
