A really cool guy, I recommend him to anyone.
Definitely one of the best Professors i've ever had.
A teacher who opens your mind to new ways of thought and wants you to do well, he creates an enviorment that makes you actually want to learn
His comedy can be compared to that of Denis Miller! You want a great professot take this guy hes the man. He wont remember you name at all so he just makes up random names for you. But wow he teaches well and hes very funny. Take him.
Prinz can take your lousy morning and cheer u up instantly with his jokes. He makes you write about 5 pages, he is critical but allows rewrites. overall, best eng prof to take!
Awesome prof. This guy is too funny. Had a 9 AM class with him on friday's and still stayed awake despite my vicious hangover from the night before. You can actually learn alot from his comedy routine. "That's Right!"

Fun class, Fun prof! Very real guy who seems very educated and loves what he does. One of the better profs I've met at AU, i'll look for more courses that he teaches..he makes class not so bad.
Aside from being a sting-wannabe...if you'd see him you'd get it...he is a decent professor. Class has no overall structure and he rambles. Conducted in a way that makes it easy to not read the assignments. He's fascinated with his own brilliance.
Definetly the best class that i have. He mixes comedy with his style of teaching and makes it enjoyable. He wants you to do well so he allows you to rewrite papers and is available for help sessions. Amazing professor.
Totally awsome!! He makes you laugh and makes you think at the same time. His stories are hilarious and he gets the work done. He is totaly the best Writing teacher i have ever had and he is awsomely hot too!!

I had him for my first semester as a Freshman and he is an AMAZING professor. Funny as hell, very easy class, and very straight forward abt everything. I recommend him to ANYONE and everyone. He is a strict grader though. But the class is so worth it. Call him Spicy dove!!!!

Easily the best professor at Adelphi. I never had so much fun in a class. No matter what type of day you are having, Prof Prinz will be sure to cheer you up. Although he's not an easy grader, which is a good thing because it helps you fix your essays and stuff, he's a wonderful person. Take a course with him!!

One of the most fun and fair teachers in the school. He lets you re-write all your papers as many times as you want. Funnyyy, but he may need a hair cut
Art and Craft of Writing... I loved the class. He tells great stories and is always willing to work with you on the paper. He gives great insight and I feel like I am a better writer because of it. He weeds the extra stuff out. and you get WHY. advice: go to the writing center so that you can get even more help. great prof!!!! a def. recommendation
might be funny in class but who cares when he gives out very low grades. no matter how many times you rewrite the paper, if he doesn't like it, you'll still be stuck with the low grade. horrible teacher, didn't learn much in his class, try to avoid taking him, english is suppose to improve your grade not lower it
nice person, but very tough grader, he should loosen up on grading people's papers. he always starts out with giving out Cs and no matter how many times the paper is rewritten its almost impossible to get it changed into at least a B+. its true, English should boost up one's grade and not make it lower. don't take him, its not worth your nerves
i used to love writing until this class...terrible prof...such a strict grader...will give you a bad grade if he doesnt like your style of writing...but isnt writing supposed to be from your own point of view not his...very unfair n inconsiderate...grading policy is inconsistent...plays favorites so if your not one of them stay away from this jerk
Art and Craft of Writing was really great with prinz. His assignments are very vague and he asks us to be specific in writing essays. This class gave me a chance to write freely without a narrow topic but that is what made it so challenging as well. Prinz is a tough grader but he believes in the writing process and rewriting papers. Entertaining!!!
I had higher grades in class and he gave me a lower one because i did not see him outside of class and because i didnt participate much. I do not care what this guy thinks but i earned a better grade. Guys like this should not teach. I agree with all of the bad comments. He is a horrible person. doesnt care about students. Dont take him.
really great guy. but he's not letting u slide with an A. listen to his comments and work on ur writing.. & ull be rewarded. if ur stubborn.. this is not the prof for u. you deff need to walk in with an open mind

I LOVED HIM! He is honestly my favorite professor! Hes hilarious you just have to have a sense of humor too, and he is totally fair with classwork and assignments. STRONGLY reccommend him

Hands down the best prof. at AU. I hated the school but I loved going to his class. He's hilarious and he IS a tough grader, but you can rewrite any essay as many times as you want. But listen to his criticism or don't expect a better grade. He really pushes you to be better; he makes you work for the A. HIGHLY recommended- take anything he teaches

Prof. Prinz is the man! I decided to take english during the winter break..I was expecting the most boring class in the world but this guy kept me awake through the whole experience. He's a funny character and always picked on me but I have to say I honestly enjoyed his class and truly learned and became a better writer because of him.
He IS a hard grader. I consider myself a pretty decent writer, but if it isn't something HE likes he will give you a B or C.

He is funny and does make class interesting, but his class is a lot more difficult than it should be. He is a tough grader but doesn't explain what you're doing wrong. Whenever I tried talking to him he never seemed interested in helping. I am normally a good wrier but never did well in his class.
He is extremely sarcastic and at times its annoying but overall I liked his class. Its not boring. Hes a tough grader, and its hard to do good but if you email him a bunch of times before a paper is due you have a chance at an A. The whole class is based off attendance, participation, and 5 papers.
He was very funny at times but his sarcasm was kind of mean. If you asked him questions he wouldn't clarify exactly what he wanted. This course seems like it would be easy by looking at the syllabus but he's a very tough grader and it's very unclear as to what he actually wants.
The class overall was fun and he's a cool professor but he grades super hard. I'm usually great at papers and would always get C's in his class. I'm taking the class over now and I got an A on my first paper..... He takes this course way too serious with grading. He's not very clear with what he wants either.
I took him for Art & Craft of writing and it's horrible. He's a pretty cool professor, but he grades really tough and is really picky with what he wants. Sometimes when he's critiquing work, he can be quite harsh. If he says he wants something emailed, EMAIL IT! There's only four essays, no tests, and rarely any reading so that's cool I guess.
Funny guy, but extremely tough grader. He doesn't explain assignments thoroughly and also doesn't give much feedback. He makes you read your homework aloud and then proceeds to embarrass you in front of the class (but he does this to everyone- don't take it personally.)
Great guy, very funny. Made an 8 AM class not only bearable, but fun. I always did very well with him, although I know most of the class struggled. God, that makes me sound like such a narcissist. Just do the work, and do it well. Be creative!
Funny professor made 8am classes bearable and enjoyable.. HOWEVER he is a very tough grader. I didn't learn a single thing in the class, the AU custom textbook don't even bother buying because he doesn't use it. Overall, it was a fun class but I didn't learn anything.. low grades on papers I got reviewed multiple times.. this class lowered my GPA:(
He is such a tough professor but very humorous. If you have enough confidence for writing and don't worry about your final grade, just take it!
Prof. Prinz gives 4 essays throughout the semester. These 4 essays are how you get your final grade. He is a tough grader, but the class is very enjoyable. You have to work hard on you papers. He gives the opportunity for a rewrite

Somebody please get this man a stand-up comedy gig. The class is enjoyable and often goes by quick. There are 4 essays in the semester, allowing 1 re-write. That is your grade. Spend time on your essays and you will be fine. Take his criticisms constructively, and don't take his jokes personally. Put effort in and you will get a good grade.
Probably the worst teacher at Adelphi. DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS. EXTREMELY difficult grader for no reason. He is completely unclear about his assignments, and when you ask for help he makes you feel stupid/ embarrassed you in front of the class. Not a fan & would definitely say to take a different professor if you want a grade above a C+.
He randomly points at students to ask questions on the topic he is discussing that's what I hated the most but overall he is a nice professor. DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK because all of his homework readings are articles from online. He is funny and can make your early morning classes not so boring. He is a tough grader.
Hilarious and nice professor, but a very tough grader. He bases your grades off of 4 essay assignments and he allows one essay rewrite if you dont like your grade. If you can avoid do so because this class will bring down your GPA. He will either give you a B or a C. This class is not an easy A.
He's a really nice guy and genuinely funny, but for a creative writing course he grades super tough. You probably won't get an A even if you're the best writer out there. Most people finish the class with a B so if you're ok with that, this class is for you.

Very tough grader. He has a hilarious personality but can be very critical towards certain things. He never makes it clear towards what the assignment should consist of and how it should be done. Instead, he grades your paper and makes comments on it that may make you feel dumb. Calls on you in class and sometimes say things to embarrass you.
Funny guy, but not a great professor. Never bothered to learn the names of most students in the class, would call us out and make us feel stupid. 4 essays make up your entire grade, and is so vague with what he wants written in the essay. Very hard grader for a gen-ed class that doesn't apply to most students majors. If you can avoid him, DO IT.
Listen, this is one of the funniest professors I've ever had but he just tanks grades at the end of the day. Very strong writers like myself even struggle because he is an extremely tough grader and gives no suggestions how to improve (instead insults your writing). Didn't teach me anything I didn't already learn in HS. Freshmen like me, beware.

Marc is a great person. Funny, Clever, and Witty. Yet he will make you work hard for those 3 essays that he assigns. I never thought that 3 pieces of paper would matter more in my life than being in this class. It was such a stressful environment yet he tried to keep things fun but is a tough person at the same time. BEWARE, FRESHMAN!

Overall okay Professor. For a class that is mandatory and should teach you how to get into college writing, he definitely grades the papers too harshly. Had some decent jokes but that's about it.
Worst mistake in my college life so far. Now I don't wanna be mean or anything but I'm just warning anyone thinking about doing this class to not do it! Trust me you will fail. He only grades you on essays which even as little as a bad title will be the difference from an A to a C! Barely teaches anything and you are practically set up for failure!

DO NOT AND I MEAN NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He's so bad that you can say good bye to your gpa. This man doesn't have the ability to teach or grade. Highest grade that man gives is a 82 don't expect anything else. Don't even ask him a question, he will make you look like a fool. So please for the sake of your gpa DO NOT TAKE HIM.
This class had Pros and Cons. The Pros were he made 8am bearable, was actually pretty funny, homeworks were pretty short, and gave a monthly essay. However the Cons were big. He is an EXTREMELY tough grader. Majority of the class would range from 60-82, anything higher is a rarity. Also an English 101 class with 4 page papers minimum LOL. Have fun

Extremely tough grader. Nearly impossible to get anything above a B in his class. Papers due every other week. Overall a nice guy who jokes a lot in class, but class discussions help very little when writing his papers.
He is hilarious and makes early morning classes fun. However, he is an EXTREMELY tough grader. Strongest of writers will struggle immensely. He will criticize your writing harshly, even if you put your best effort forward. Calls on students randomly. Does not make his assignments or his expectations clear enough. I would not take him again.

I had to withdraw from this class super late in the year because it was almost impossible to bring my grade up. You need to show up to class to even keep up and when you do you WILL get called on. He will also jab at you if you're late, don't know an answer, are quiet, or basically anything. He can be funny sometimes if he likes you.

At the beginning of the semester, I looked at rate my professors and was so scared for this class as I am a very hard worker. Throughout the semester I learned that Prinz is nothing like these reviews. He is very understanding and if you put forth genuine effort he will see it and it will pay off. He is so funny and overall a great professor!

If you're looking for a professor that'll stress you out and drop your GPA, feel free to take him. If not, then steer clear. He's a nice guy and pretty funny, but a tough grader. It's literally impossible to get a 100 and to please him. Even when we do discussion boards, he's never happy. Has got to be one of the worst teachers here.
Run. He's a funny guy, but his grading is not right... It's impossible to make a good grade in his class is what I was told after I already registered and it's true. He doesn't give out rubrics/clear instruction and then gets upset that you didn't write the way he wanted, even after never telling you.
He's cool and as long as you write fairly well and speak with confidence you'll be fine. I wasn't stressed for one second in this class.

I really enjoyed this class with Prof. Prinz. He's genuinely a nice person and brings a lot of humor into the lectures which makes the material more engaging. He's always open to helping students and is quick to provide guidance when needed. He strives for improvement and encourages us to push ourselves, in order to be successful in the class.
He is a very tough grader if you want to pass you need to go to his office hours for help and make sure to have a thesis or else he will drop your grade. I would never take this class ever again.
Amazing professor, lets you for even with missing some classes, very interesting lectures, I recommend for any upcoming students got A's and B's for all my papers. He really forms you into an amazing writer.

Yea, just no... ENG107 is required for all students however, you should not be taking this prof to get your paper done, save your gpa and find a prof who won't fail you on the spot, accused me of using AI to write a paper last semester, withdrew and took Prof. Shaw instead, he's a prof who'll put in the effort to get you engaged to the class
no rubric given for the essays that are graded. A bunch of assignments weekly that don't get graded. Took every AP English in high school and did extremely well and have never gotten close to a failing grade unlike this class. Was extremely stressed about every essay. Had to withdraw as there was no way I could have passed. traumatized.
