He often has a fun sense of humor and doesn't mind students cracking jokes to him. Very reliable and will help with anything you need academically.

There is no other professor that has the intellectual capacity that Mr. Turetzky has. His genuiness, sincerity and fairness are befit for a top-notch professor. Believe me, I have taken upper division courses and the professors were nowhere near the high caliber of Mr. Turetzky. He is a vital asset to us, his students, encouraging us to be better.

I think he is a great teacher. I had him for two classes. He always answered all my questions, and was more than willing to listen to them all. He is not a bad grader, and he is fair. If you try, and put effort, he will be fair. His exams are all take-home! That means more time!!

He expects a lot out of you. Not an easy "A" but if your serious about your studies then he would be a good professor for you. He lets you know what you need to work on to make sure you do well. I'd take his class again in a second!

I took all of his courses. Ok, I'll admit that I was totally enamoured with him, but dude he's HOTT!!! Not to metion that he leads great classes that are interesting and relevent. He's a great guy and would be a fantastic mentor. He's totally inspired me. He has a great sense of humor, did I mention he's hot?

Go ahead and take him if having your PHD impresses you, like the poster above. Clear teaching skills, good sense of humor. Be prepared to dive into a buttload of all things political. If politics dont interest you at all (like me), then you might dread coming to class (like me). I failed the first time around for not doing homework,online is easier

I took Marc's online course, and was scared at first that it would be one of my most difficult classes, but it turned out to be rather enjoyable. It is very important, however, to make sure you get every point possible. Skipping just one assignment will hurt you immensely. Each point is worth one percentage of your grade!!

He was awesome!! As a political Science teacher he makes sure not to preach his own views which is ver important to me. His tests are hard but if you study you will be fine. He is very aproachable and made an 8:00 class enjoyable. I highly suggest him! ALso a die hard Chargers fan! Great discussions and i learned alot! Makes it worth your time.

Dr. T's class is definitely not easy, I took it online over the summer and spent at least 10 hours a week doing homework, debates, and papers. Turetzsky made it very interesting, and enjoyable.Tests and papers are hard,don't half a$$ it and you'll get a good grade.

As a teacher, he is very interesting to listen to. He knows his subject, and is a very laid back professor. A word of warning: don't be fooled. He is an extremely tough grader, requiring a level of knowledge beyond that expressed originally. His attitude belittles his grading style, often marking you down a whole grade point for generalizing.

For working on my bachelors at Harvard, oh wait, I am only working toward an AA at Gavilan! The amount of work for this 3 unit course was closer to that of a 5 unit course. If you want an A in this class be prepared to spend a minimum of 15 hrs per week of homework. If you can avoid Turetzky's class you would be doing yourself a favor.

I wish EVERY Online class had a teacher like Dr. Turetzky. He's organized and tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A. He makes politics interesting, values your opinions, he is the most responsive teacher out there and actually knows how to use the internet with clear directions! Highly recommended! Took him last semester. By far the hardest class I have ever taken. He is real tough on grading and you can count on doing a lot of homework. Highly recommend you have already taken Eng 1A before you take this class. I will say though, that I learned a great deal about politics in his class and even now watch it on t.v.

When I told Marc I was having trouble he was really good about helping me where I was needing it.Don't hesitate to ask him for help.He gives a lot of homework so be prepared for that but as long as you apply yourself you'll do fine.He's not just there to get a paycheck, he actually cares and believes in his students, which i know meant a lot to me.

Marc is a great guy, and I'm so glad I'm in his class. He gives a decent amount of homework, but once you get used to the workload you'll be fine. Be ready to actually use your brain and voice up your opinions, because he actually cares about what you think. If you ask for his opinion, he'll say it. He is very helpful when you need help!

A lot of work! 10 Online assignments, debate, research paper, take home quizzes, take home final, this class is early! 8:00am! He doesn't B.S. be on time! he hate lateness! Respect other students, if not he will call you out! Do your work, use a lot of critical thinking and you will do fine!

Took Mr.T for PolySci-1 and now for PolySci-3. Do the work, do the online assignments. Don't wait until the last minute to do his research paper or his critical analysis paper. Read the material! and just listen to his advise and SPEAK UP! He loves that stuff.

Dr. Turetzky is a professor who is passionate about what he does; He will not try & change what you think of politics, but show you how useful it is to know. Dr. T's assignment are specific and he tells you exactly what he is looking when it comes to the research paper. Not a class to slack off on. If you want an A, you'll have work hard for it.

Professor Turetzky is an awesome Teacher I have taken three of his classes and have enjoyed them all. He is clear on what is expected, the class assignments are simple (IF YOU TAKE INTEREST). All the textbooks are great and good Political Science is important stuff to Know. I recommend taking all his courses as you may find they intertwine.

Can be difficult to pass with a good grade if you do not show up to class. Many of the material given and assignments are during class sessions. One group project at the end of the course, as well as an essay. Not difficult to complete.

DR. T is a good professor. Just be aware that you will be required to do a significant amount of work. This would have to be my only complaint. Dr. Marc Turetzky expects work from the average student; however, his work is relevant and critical thinking-oriented. He has his students read a significant amount of work, which is worth the trouble. Turetzky's quizzes can be a little intimidating; one should dig a little deep. Overall, he is great and cares about his students.

Despite the fact that he assigns a lot of work, he does provide thorough instructions and tells you exactly what he's looking for. It's not impossible to get an A, you just have to WORK for it.

Dr. Turuetzky is undeniably a good professor. However, you had better expect to do an enormous amount of work including long papers and several essays. On top of that he is a tough grader. If you take his class be aware that you will be required to do lots of reading and coursework, homework, essays, papers, and participate in several debates.

Mr. Turetzky is a wonderful teacher. He is the best! Very funny man, easy to get along with. He has a passion about Politics. You can earn an easy A in his class. Hands down the best professor I've ever had at any college I've ever attended. You have to put effort into his classes, but they are incredibly interesting and challenging. It's professors like him that give me hope for the higher education system, especially at a community college. If you don't take a class with him, guarateed you're missing out.

Marc is amazing I took his Fall PolySci1 class and it was extremely interesting and nothing what I expected out of a politics class. If I had to take in more classes in his department I would definitely choose him again! Go to his office hours for any help or advice! He cares and will help you!

One of the best instructors at Gavilan. Took his terrorism class and was very interesting. You can tell he knows a lot about terrorist organizations and knows whats going on in the world. Showing up to class is a 1/2 grade boost, dont skip class! All the quizzes are take home, 10 page terrorist essay, and an easy take home final at the end.

Hes a cool dude, has no bias just make sure you do all the work, prepare for your debate topic, and make sure the research paper is well written and you can easily pass the class

Dr. Turetzky is one of the best professors I've had. Dr. T is tough, but he is an exceptional lecturer, starts every class with memes, and give everyone the chance to defend their ideas. You must participate constantly to do well in his classes, especially during the 2nd quarter value debates.

I took Dr. T's American Government summer course. Challenging because it was only 6 weeks long, but FUN. He gave us a week to finish a good amount of assignments - textbook readings, lecture/lecture notes, debates, a quiz and 2-3 writing assignments. Dr. T has a great sense of humor and didn't mind a little sarcasm, haha. Absolutely recommend him!

Dr. T gives really good feedback and is always willing to help you. His lectures are pretty informative and sometimes pretty funny. The online debates spawn some really good political discussions as well. We had one research paper at the end of the semester that was fairly straightforward. If you're into PoliSci, this is the guy to take it with.

Professor Turetzky is awesome! His entertaining, informative lectures often go over his estimates since he really cares about the material (and you learning it!) Late work isn't tolerated without a major emergency, but he gives great homework feedback and ensures grading criteria and deadlines are understood. Your grade in his class is up to you.

Marc is awesome! Literally packed full of important information, he is very impressive with the amount of knowledge he has in the world of politics. He is efficient and honest. He lets you have control of your own grade. The amount of effort you put into your own work will be a reflection of your grade. Highly recommend.

Very good teacher. Definitely leans more towards the conservative side, but he was still very respectful of my opinions even though they were different. He will push you to think and reflect on your opinions. If you want an A? Go above and beyond. Instead of two sentences as the assignment calls for, write two paragraphs.
