Tough grader hard to understand
Vague multiple choice questions on tests. Don't be late for class cuz he stops the whole class to stare at you no matter what he is doing.
Thought he was a good teacher
He is a very good professor. He is quite clear on what he says. He adds interesting detail to his notes and lectures. His tests are a little difficult, but if you study very hard you are able to pass. Overall, he is a great teacher
Really good slides

his exams are pretty difficult, if you go to class and take notes its not that hard. he gives great outlines and tries his hardest to help. his papers aren't that hard but he wants to challenge you. he does throw in some random connections that make unders
tough stuff, but he's good to go to if you need extra help understanding anything
Uses powerpoint so it's easy to take notes and follow what he is saying. The tests are multiple choice and essay but if you go to class and take notes it's easy. If you need help he'll go out of his way to help you.
I thought he was ridiculous. When he was asked questions, he had to look in his notes for the answers, and sometimes he didn't even have answers at all. He made up terms and expected us to learn them like they were part of psychology. Tests were HARD.
Dr. Wagoner is a wonderful professor. He makes class interesting by incorporating stuff we can relate to. His tests are a bit challenging but study the material and you'll do fine. (This is college!) He is very easy to talk to, and eager to help students! TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!!
Dr. Wagoner is an excellent professor and he is very helpful and considerate to his students, he is never a jerk to anyone. He is very approachable and has a great personality. I recommend taking his classes, they are interesting.
lot of work in this class. don't take him if you're lazy. 4 papers relating lecture notes and reading assignments to a movie. these got boring fast (it felt like writing the same paper 4 times over). midterm and final were take home essay questions and a short in-class multiple choice section. pretty laid back.
Dr. Wagoner is the best!! His lectures are very interesting, and as long as you attend class the tests are no problem. He offers extra credit on the exams and an extra credit paper at the end of the semester! DONT HESITATE TO TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM
excellent teacher! doesn't count attendance but if you go to class everyday, the exams will be easy, since everything is on lecture notes: no need to buy the book, he barely uses it: also gives extra credit questions on exams, and extra credit essay at the end of the semester.
Nice professor. Very clear regarding the material. Multiple choice, about 20 or so with a few short answers. Five points extra credit on a fifty point test so 10 extra. Had to do a paper on a psych article and then review it, which was an easy A- or B+. Three tests with a final. Good teacher for an intro class.
Has this guy for Applied social psych. Good material but talks like hes writing a sociology paper. His class is not worth the time.
I took Social Reps of Race and Gender with him. He's a really nice guy, but a LAZY teacher. He is often unclear, or confuses himself when explaining things. He will randomly take attendance, but not very often. He assigns papers longer than my english teacher that SUCK writing. If you pay attention in class and study, you'll do allright on exams.
Can barely understand him when he talks (very low monotone voice, hard to hear), very unclear with definitions often confuses himself and give wrong definitions. I spent the whole class on my computer looking up the definitions of things he was trying to teach us!
Dr. Wagoner is a really cool, smart guy. He's laid back, but still conducts an interesting and informative class. He's also very reasonable when it comes to his workload. He gives four tests all together (including the final) and one paper. His tests are definitely challenging, but completely possible to ace with lots of studying. I recommend him.
awesome teacher. would highly recommend him.
awesome teacher

This was an awesome class to take. Prof Wagoner is such an intelligent person. He may be a tough teacher, but what he teaches, you are sure to remember. You will remember the information you learned for a very long time. If you take good notes, you should not have a problem.
He is a nice guy but make sure you talk in class. I had him for Psych of Diversity and I did well on both the midterm and final and the papers, but ended up with a C average because I didn't participate in the class discussions.
THIS TEACHER IS HORRIBLE!!! He talks like he is on speed. I mean, 8 chapters in one exam...yeah good luck if you decide to take him for anything.
Not a good professor for research methods. He does not give any definitions, just examples. And the info isn't in the book so either you have to write millions of long examples or your screwed. And he just pulls grades out of his ass. And tests were extremely difficult. I get A or A+ in all my psy classes...but I got a C in this one!
Decent guy, but really should have observed a semester before trying to teach this class. had no clue how he was going to teach it, so it was really scattered.. explains very little, and not clearly.
I highly suggest Dr. Wagoner for an Independent Study project. He will offer help when you need it and is very open to your ideas, but will give you space if he feels that you know what you are doing. This is by far one of the best classes I've taken. However, it is not for the faint of heart. Especially, not the honors version!
Decent class. Really nice guy, but the lectures are a little scattered. He gives definitions quickly and they're not in the book so you need to write fast. If you take all the notes down and study hard then the tests are really fair. Not easy, but fair. Usually 18 multiple choice and a choice of 3 out of 5 essays. always has extra credit
no homework. only assignment is a long paper due by the end of the course. drops lowest out of 4 exams. Exams are very hard!!! but he gives a fair amount of extra credit. overall a great class!
Dr. Wagoner is a really good guy. He's not afraid to talk about challenging topics in class and to get people involved. He makes people feel comfortable but can get in your face sometimes. I learned a lot about psychology and myself in his class.
Fantastic teacher! I had him for three classes in one semester (205 252 and 255) He is very helpful and knowledgeable. If you have a problem or trouble with something ask. He is happy to clarify. Participate and be willing to learn and you will have a great experience.
In the middle of his Applied Social Psych class...I love him! His lectures are very interesting, especially with a talkative class. He loves to have input from the students. As far as busy work goes, he doesn't give any. There are three exams, and a final. Exams mainly based on lectures, but read the book too. Overall great prof, been rly pleased!
Dr. Wagoner is a great guy. Very funny, and easy to stay focused during lecture as his lectures are very interesting. He tends to be unclear with what he expects out of assignments though. You have to e-mail him several times, and sometimes you still don't get a response. Liked him, but I wouldn't take him again.
3 exams and one paper (10-15 pages), with an optional final exam. Great lecturer (keeps interest of students), however, found it hard to get answers to my questions regarding our paper through email.
You need to be there for every class and pay attention, since he tests on his lectures. I'm not sure I'd take his class again, but only because his teaching style didn't match well with me. He drops the lowest test grade and is very clear as to what he wants for the paper. He's tough, but fair, a nice guy who's very understanding and caring.
Took it online. He is not good at getting back to emails which for an online class really wasn't very helpful.
I don't know why people are saying he is tough, he really isn't. There are four exams and he drops the lowest- if you do well on the first three you dont even have to take the final. Only one paper. exams are on lectures so don't bother with the book. He's funny and VERY fair (remember we are in college)
I took this class online. His lectures were really helpful and interesting. The book is not super important. He stopped responding to emails regarding my grades a few weeks in which I found really unprofessional. Other than that, great class and for the most part, pretty easy!
Online class. Lectures were rambling & were old so material referenced did not correspond to the textbook being used. Lectures were posted late which made the class difficult since during summer & only 6 wks long. Gave lots of opportunity for extra credit on exams. Some exam stuff on chapters that we skipped wasn't fair. Answered emails quickly.
Condescending and not at all interested in student progress. Contradicts himself constantly, expects immediate email responses but never bothers himself with Blackboard. Would not take again.
Tests to the lectures, sometimes to the book. Tests are very detail based. Not quick to respond with emails. rarely on campus. Rarely uses Blackboard.
Good professor. Online lectures could tend to be boring for some, but the content was interesting. He responded promptly to an error on my grade on Blackboard and it was corrected promptly. Keep up with the reading and you will do fine in this class.
tests are really not hard but papers are a must
Dr. Wagoner is a great guy. He is funny and outgoing. He isn't afraid to say what he thinks and swears a lot. His lectures are all power slides which is nice, however classes are boring. The topics are interesting but he often goes off track and just talks and talks about other things. His explanations are unclear.I did not like his teaching style.
Took an online class with him. not only did he not post lectures for 3 weeks in a row. he tells us we have a 15-20 research paper due a week later without any notice previously and didn't post anything about said paper. never responded to emails.
Dr. Wagoner definitely knows what he is talking about but I don't think he understands what a 101 course is... he doesn't know how to "dumb things down" to our level. Talks about things like everyone in the class has a psychology degree when in-fact no one in the class even has any degree. He is very funny but doesn't know how to teach a 101 class.
Professor Wagoner was not helpful whatsoever during my time in his class. He was not clear about what was on the tests, did not warn us he was going on paternity leave, and was over two hours late posting the final online. I would not recommend taking his class EVER; he truly screwed over my GPA.
At first class was alright and he was a professor. Then he left on paternity, did not grade anything, did not post lectures, then to top it all of he did not post a final when he emailed everyone that he was going to.
Professor Wagoner wants students to participate and be active in his class. Most of his assignmentstests are all papers and expect to write 10 pages on exams. He's tough but if you do the work, you can get an A. He is passionate about psychology and his classes. He cancels class a lot- which isn't s a bad thing. His classes are usually laid back
Took applied social psych as a hybrid. The online lectures were long and hard to stay focused. The classes were useless because he would go over the lectures. Attendance didn't count and people rarely went to class. There was a 15 page paper. He was a very slow grader.
He's a chill guy but his lectures are hard to follow. Flies through power points in class and you have to really pay attention to what he's saying if you want to pass. Attendance doesn't count but if you miss a day of notes you're screwed. I relied on the book a lot. 3 exams & a 15 pg paper. Made it hard to enjoy an interesting subject.
He doesn't answer emails, his syllabus isnt consistent with the what he teaches, he doesn't grade ANYTHING until the semester ends and he is super unclear about assignments. He talks about assignments in class but does not post the formal assignment until the day before it is due, and the posted assignment is always different then what he says .
Dr. Wagoner is an nice professor, but he's not very organized. The content of the course is interesting but he has a tendency to get a little off track with discussion. The term paper is long (15-20 pages) which I think is excessive for a 200 level course. Make sure you don't put it off until the last minute. He takes forever to grade anything.
Will not take a class with him again. Clearly knows what he's talking about, but doesn't consider that everybody's got a different pace. Lectures are super long, you'll never get out of class early, and he is very unclear when it comes to note taking. There's only three tests throughout the year and one optional final. Tests are 75% essays.
A lot of assignments, requiring us to download media programs etc. Lectures were long yet felt like we barely covered any material. Often had group discussion based on reading. Not a fan of the teaching style especially if you don't like assignments basically every other week/have the time to watch multiple movies. Enjoyed content not style.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I've taken Wagoner for 3 classes (only because I had no other choice) and just barely passed all three. no matter what class you take w/him, he sucks. He does not care about the class or students at all, extremely disorganized, has very vague power points that make no sense, lectures very fast. purposely makes tests very hard.
Hes a very nice guy but Im sorry teaching and explaining isnt his thing. His lectures are so poor that I dont even understand whats going on and at the end of the lecture Im still confused. Half the material on the exams arent given to you so you have to figure it all out. Dont ask question because youll be even more confused
I took Professor Wagoner for psych101, and i will not be taking him as a professor hopefully ever again. You have three tests throughout the semester and one final which is optional and then research requirements and 4 essays. He is a really tough grader and never gives an actual review for the upcoming exam. He tends to mumble and get off topic
Dr Wagoner is detailed oriented and expect same from his students. He is fair in his grading but firm. One needs to study harder to make good grades on his subject because it requires theoretical and practical applications. For me, applied social psychology has informed my interest to study further in that field of specialty.
There are three tests and they make no sense. He talks about his personal life all the time. if the questions on the test were about his life then i would've passed. There was a final research paper that he describes as a "brief 15-20 pages" HOW IS THAT BRIEF? Would not recommend to a friend.
He's a nice guy, really chill, but this class is not an easy A. He only posts your grade for tests but never gives you your test back to review. He is unclear about his instructions, the syllabus says one thing and he says another then grades a completely differ way. Would not take his class again.
This guys is moody, high strung, and acts mysteriously about simple things. You ask him questions, he assumes things, and often twists words. Seems nice at first, then his ego takes over and before you know it, hes talking about video games for 15 minutes as an example. Little does he know that the information in his classes is t hard, he just BAD
Love/hate with Dr. Wagoner. The class is interesting enough but sometimes his style is off. He needs to be clear and consistent with his instructions and expectations if he's going to expect so much out of students. To do well in his class, you need read and come to class ready to discuss. No way around it. If you don't, he'll get mad.
Not a good professor when it comes to talking about material that is going to be asked of us on the exam. He expects students to ask every question possible instead of just teaching the material. Also, I wouldnt suggest taking his class due to his lack of examples. If you asked him to explain something, he gives a one sentence very unclear answer.
Not fun to be around as a professor or person. Out of control attitude and acts like it acceptable. Do not recommend.
Actually disrespectful. Im sad for the people who say hes just a hard professor if you are lazy. Trust me, Ive almost graduated and Ive met many profs like him. Saying the material is hard is a joke especially for first and second level classes. Ive taken classes more difficult than his that I got better grades in. I dont think he understands
If you like when professors bring their personal problems into the classroom, take his class. Hilarious professor! Acts like a child to be nice, I would rate 0/5 if this website aloud me to.
This professor inspired me to never take one of his classes ever again. Awesome guy. Dont talk to him outside of class he gets a lil red face and angry and nervous
Not the worst guy, but he doesnt know how to teach. Period. He cant give his own examples or speak about the material if hes not looking at his notes or the book. The powerpoints are word by word examples from the book. Speaks much more intelligently than he actually is. Hes pretty nice, but nothing is original or interesting about him.
Dr. Wagoner is awful. Every single class he reads off of powerpoint slides and can't say anything without looking at his computer. He expects you to remember things he said 5 classes ago for an exam so unless you can write every word he says verbatim, good luck. There are so many better profs at woo that will actually teach you about psychology.
Horrible professor, I don't think I learned a thing in that class. He is confusing during lectures and doesn't give much work to better your grade. Do not I repeat do not take him.
Marc Wagoner was one of the worst professors I've ever encountered. Would not recommend, not even to the smartest students at Harvard. I think he believes it's funny to watch his students fail. If you want to lower your overall GPA, take this class!!!!
Hours of long videos that are just recordings of before Covid, gives tons of material but does not focus on what the book is teaching. His essay questions are EXTREMELY politically biased, he basically forces you to write how his opinion is right. Takes forever to grade, gives a C on a paper with no comments, and changes due dates constantly.
You'll get pre-recorded hour-long lectures and assignment instructions for each module. He takes a very long time to grade and doesn't leave feedback on papers after he grades them. He doesn't make the due dates clear so you constantly have to check and make sure you aren't missing anything and he isn't easy to get in contact with.
gave me a barely passing grade because I used a chart in my final paper to better explain. if your homework isnt perfect dont even bother submitting. responds to emails after a week.
you basically teach yourself this class if youre taking this online and even when you do meet with him, clarification on assignments make things more confusing
Literally the worst teacher ever. He never responds to emails for a week, and it is tough when something is due that week. Office hours never worked. Didn't really know what he was teaching, seemed like. Communication was TERRIBLE and ATROCIOUS. Wish I had a different psychology teacher.
Makes many rude comments and not a great communicator.
He makes zero sense and I feel like he doesnt even grasp his own material . Not helpful At all and very unclear on instructions. I cant believe this university still employees such a person.
Honestly just rambled on about Harriet Tubman the whole time. Really? Im a psychology course?
Do not take any courses taught by him. He does not teach the subjects you signed up to teach. He would rather discuss pop culture the entire class or give rude and unhelpful answers to serious questions. One of the most unprofessional and unhelpful professors I have had at Worcester State. Always late to class and barely understandable.
Professor Wagoner is a good guy and a smart professor. I was in a hybrid class, so he got away with cancelling many in person meetings and resorting to zoom. Lectures are prerecorded and tests are given in modules on the online textbook; has easy weekly assignments. Usually hard to have access too outside of class and very bad at grading on time.
If I were to sum up this class, I would be using every word possible to describe how AWFUL it was. Not only is the professor rude, but he is politically bias, disrespectful and arrogant. He is the reason I transferred to another university that is how bad I was treated. Disgusting how people like him are awarded teaching degrees. 0/10
cool guy, down to earth and seems charismatic. unfortunately his teaching is not great, he goes off on long rants unrelated to lectures, and that has them end up being nearly 3 hours (which you watch by yourself by the way) he is not very good at explaining things and ends up being more confusing. term paper is 10-15 pages and he hardly explains it
very very tough professor. psych is an easy major so far for me but this guy really challenged me, and not in a good way. kind of sucks because he's the only one in the department who teaches this (required) course for the degree
I have to say this is the WORSE professor I've ever had. He's all over the place - literally. You need a map to navigate this man's class because the syllabus won't help. Due dates everywhere, lectures everywhere, he's just everywhere.
`Impossible to contact outside the classroom. Online education materials are very disorganized causing assignments to be missed.
This professor was unaccesible during "office time", I waited for hours to get a zoom meeting for extra help and he never answered. Did not respond to emails even if they were in proper format. He was all over the place and his lectures made no sense. Assignment due dates were changed regularly because he would forget to post them. I withdrew.
Very unorganized, gives hrs of lectures every wk with a ton of reading. Lectures are boring YouTube videos that he makes and expects you to sit through every week. Doesn't accept late work regardless of the excuse and the Final paper is 10-15 pg's and his instructions didn't make a whole lot of sense. If you have any other option- choose it.
One of the worst profs I've had so far. Unorganized, multiple incorrect due dates posted for assignments, doesn't respond to emails. Lectures are prerecorded from previous in-person and online classes, they are multiple hours long, and don't contain enough actual info to make it worth watching the video that buffers every 5 seconds(not joking)
Yes, you might think the lectures are long, but he is a caring and funny guy. He has office hours every day and encourages people to come. You will want to go to lectures to learn about the material where you don't need to read all of the work, but he understands if you can't make it all of time.
Not prepared for class, and doesn't email about updates. Very lecture heavy, but not hard assignments, goes off topic constantly.
The professor does not put grades in right away. The textbook says the quizzes are due on a different day than he says it's confusing. I did not know my grade until the very end of the semester. Cancels office hours often. Does not respond back to emails right away.
I received a 0 on an assignment that had no minimum plagiarism on it
Disorganized when it comes to content, lectures, and due dates. He doesn't grade assignments until the semester is over, so I'm still not sure what my grade is. His online quizzes are full of trick questions that have multiple correct answers. His lectures offer no understanding of psychology, so you won't get anything out of this class.
goes on long personal rants for a while, lectures drag and are not helpful for the info we are learning. Assignments are also long, and usually hard to relate to the topic. he is nice and funny and stuff but not a very good teacher. syllabus is unclear, dates are incorrect, he doesnt really asnwer emails or grade papers in a timely manner.
Lectures often include side tangents that confuse the topic, most assignments have you answering questions about a topic in relation to a random movie or show clip which makes understanding the topic more difficult, and doesn't grade until the last couple of weeks of the semester
Wagoner grades very harshly. I have always been a straight-A student, but it is a miracle that I somehow got an A in this class. Three essays total, and weekly assignments given. Lectures are extremely hard to understand. You can tell he is knowledgeable and a really nice guy, but just not meant to be an educator at all! Very poor at explaining
No feedback on assignments, so you won't know what you did wrong. Online lectures posted are very long, full of rambling and information that is not necessary to complete the assignments. Assignments are due Fridays at 2pm, he gives no exceptions for late work. Yet grades are not posted until the last minute.
I truly believe Marc Wagoner does not care about his students or teaching. -All due dates are wrong as he uses an outdated syllabus -Lectures are videos from 2020 that buffer every 5 seconds -No grading until the final 2 weeks -Doesn't answer emails - The most infuriating is how he grades, the grading criteria are so arbitrary.
This class is a real challenge, but Unstuckstudy can be a great study aid. The professor is disorganized, with confusing due dates and unfocused lectures. However, actively engaging with the material and using helpful resources like the free textbook can make all the difference.
He is a talker; either you will enjoy him or you won't. Personally, this is my third class with him. I believe he is a very fair grader, and the workload is light. Normally, once a lecture is finished, you have a quiz (with two attempts) along with a one-page written assignment, along with a final research paper, which serves as the final exam.
I have not finished this semester yet. I have to say I hate this teacher it was the biggest mistake of my life to take his class. If he doesn't finish the lecture he moves the due date at 6pm not even with a 24 hour notice because its at 2pm on a Friday. DON'T TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE A LIFE "time waits for no one".
Do not take his class. mine was online, he was confused and didn't know how to work it. he gave me grades I did not deserve and I had to advocate for him to fix. he also didn't answer my emails almost the whole semester
A terrible professor; he will call you out in class and make you feel embarrassed. His lectures often lack coherence, and frequently, he makes them about himself. You won't know your grade until the end of the semester. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to stay far away!
He is a funny dude but does not know how to teach properly. Half the time I did not know what he was talking about, and he often geared off into conversations that did not even relate to psychology. There is less than a week until classes end, and I still do not know my grade in this class. Save yourself the trouble by picking another professor.
Do not take this class. Super lecture heavy and all he does is go through slides that are already posted online. All I want to do is fall asleep in this class. I actually enjoy psychology and this professor makes me want to skip it every time.
This class was pretty difficult to follow along with, but Marc is a great guy in general and he is very funny aside from lectures. The grading does not get done until after the semester ends but he is usually pretty easy with the scores as long as you include what he asks for. I am 50/50 about this class, but overall I liked him as a person.
lecture based long digital textbook-helpful if you frl read it but not needed to pass in my case one assignment with every week lecture and an online quiz. no class participation he talks in detail about the slides that he presents that you will miss everything if u don't go tends to go on long tangents, kinda boring in class flexible office hours
This professor talks so much for an hour and 15 minutes straight. He'll go into side conversation that is absolutely unnecessary.
