The second time I've taken him for spring. It's an easy class impossible for anyone to fail his class. A lot of extra credit opportunities so that should be helpful. All you have to do is read, do discussions, take the quizzes, final, and term paper and I think that's it. Pretty simple and straightforward class. He gives good feedback, too.

I took Giwargis for Cinema 7B online and it was SUPER easy. As a film geek, I wasn't too surprised at the content provided. But it was honestly fun to write my own film review as one assignment and type in the discussions about films/concepts. Totally recommended if you need more credits or just have passion for movies! Took him for the summer and he was a great professor overall, one of the best. I ended up getting a B on the essay midterm, but he told me what I needed to do in order to improve. Plus, the extra credit can really help a lot in cushioning and boosting your grade. Everything he assigns has clear instructions so just make sure to follow them.

PCC has database of free movies such as La La Land, the Joker, and Back to the Future. All are fire movies. My favorite movies in this class is 400 Blows, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The only assignments I did for this class were the quizzes (based off the textbook), extra credit discussions (based off the lectures), and term papers (you just have to watch and analyze a film for this). Super chill professor. I wasn't really interested in film and I only signed up to cover arts requirements. However he made the content really interesting and his passion about the subject is evident. The teacher of this course is very good, and we can watch interesting old movies in every class. Homework can be done independently online, including mid-term and final exams, and you can watch the latest movie for free at the end of the term. Prof. Giwargis' cinema class was naturally easy to me. There's a lot of reading, if you want to put in the work by reading and doing the lectures. His lectures straight forward. You're only graded on tests which are one attempt and 10 questions. If you study, you've got it. Can be tough since you only have 10 questions.

Super easy GE class. Weekly modules are not locked so you can complete the entire course in days. One six-question quiz weekly, one essay about your thoughts on a certain list of movies, and a whole lot of extra credit. The extra credit comes in the form of short discussions and another essay about thoughts on a certain list of movies.

As a film nerd, this class was an absolute pleasure! Prof Giwargis is sweet, gentle, and motivational to all of his students. Even though I took his class online during the summer, I finally met him during my fall semester and he was truly proud of my work. He expanded my knowledge about filmmaking, critical analysis, and always made it fun!

Only thing you have to worry about for this professor is the midterm paper. The midterm and final are just a longer quiz with questions from older quizzes. The rest of the semester you have 1 quiz every week. Very easy course, most the info you find through the lectures, or just guess on the quiz if you want because there are unlimited attempts.

To anyone that needs to get GE's done, please do yourself a favor and take Marcel's class. It is very fun, I ended up enjoying many of the films we had to watch. The term paper is not difficult at all, as long as you pay attention to the lectures and are able to pay attention to detail within the films, you will be fine.

This class is so interesting in so many ways, the films we had to watch for the class are all really good and you learn a lot of history/political science/art/storytelling. There's a 4-7 page midterm paper, and plenty of extra credit opportunities. The quizzes and exams are easy. You cannot not do well in this class unless you just hate learning.

I took this class over the summer to get some GEs done. Marcel is super chill and gives great feedback to the few (literally only one) paper he had us write. The structure of the course is basically: watch a lecture and a film and then take a super easy quiz. No textbook required. Midterm and Final exams were all questions from previous quizzes.

Professor Giwargis made the class extremely fun and enjoyable throughout watching the different films. The guidelines for the online quizzes and final term paper were easily laid out and understood. There are a few extra credit discussions to gain some extra participation credit. Overall the class was amazing and a pleasure to take.

Professor Marcel, is passionate about the history of cinema, and pre-records a video breaking down the era of film making and gives brief background on the film, producer ect. This is insightful to understanding the quizzes. Also, provides a generous amount of extra credit in case it's needed. It's a fun class to take.

Marcel provided a welcoming online learning environment for this class. He was accessible, and kept in touch. The course was not straining in any way. The recorded lectures are informative, and the term paper was very fun to write. There are many extra credit opportunities (it is harder to fail the class than to pass). Wonderful experience.

Greatest professor ever! You can do the recorded lectures at your own pace and get ahead if you want to. There is a term paper where you analysis a movie from a selected list of movies. There are extra credit discussion posts that are optional. The final exam is parts from all the previous quizzes.

He was very mindful with late work, very understanding person. Just short quizzes from the Lectures each week. Mid term and mid term paper of a analysis of movie that he makes us choose from and a final. Really easy class to take just do all the assignments.

People should definitely take his class if you want to learn and be in the film industry.

Professor Marcel was an amazing professor and I learned a lot. He gives a term paper about a film of your choice (from a diverse list of options) and I actually had a lot of fun working on it! I usually dread papers like that, but I was able to connect elements of Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket to my time in the service and it was very rewarding.

The laid-back atmosphere allowed for a relaxed learning environment. Marcel's casual approach didn't compromise on content delivery, making complex concepts feel more accessible. The absence of unnecessary stress made the course enjoyable, and appealing to those who appreciate a laid-back and engaging academic setting.

Super easy class! The quizzes are based on the lectures and there are extra credit discussions available if you want some extra credit. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. You can take the quizzes and midterm however many times you need. Great professor! 10/10 would recommend.

One of the easiest courses you'll ever take. The course consists entirely of quizzes with one term paper on a film analysis and a midterm and final based off of all the quizzes thus far. There are unlimited attempts with no time limit and many extra credit opportunities. There's no way you can fail this class as long as you do the work.

Easiest A I've gotten, and it was asynchronous. Every test is multiple choice with easy answers (ex: who directed ___), midterm and finals are rehashed quizzes. The paper is probably the only thing you need to put effort into. As long as you watch the movies you'll be fine.

Great course, the lectures were straight forward and quizzes were easy. Movies were all interesting and the term paper we had to do was not too hard.

this class was super easyyy. I took his online course for my spring semester and there was a variety of quizzes that had unlimited tries and 6 questions each quiz. There was a quiz every week and one mid term and final but all multiple choice. There is also 1 mid term paper you have to write but its super easy and a movie of your choice.

This is the easiest PCC course I've ever taken. You just watch movies and take a short quiz each week. The final and midterm repeat the same questions from the quiz. There's only one term paper which is a bit tedious but is easy if you put in the effort. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

He's so nice and understanding, makes the class simple, and understandable, and is very accessible. He makes it very easy to succeed in his course and to save your grade if you mess up. There's a single-term paper and two major tests (midterm/final) that are all easy to prepare and complete. This professor is definitely a top tier choice.

Take this class if you can. There are weekly quizzes that are multiple choice and you have unlimited attempts. The midterm and final are just questions from the weekly quizzes and you have multiple attempts on them too. There is one paper, which is not hard you just need to follow the directions. Getting an A should be like breathing.

It's one of the easiest classes you'll probably take. There's a quiz with unlimited attempts every week, plus a midterm and final exam that feature quiz questions. Additionally, you'll write a term paper on a movie chosen from a provided list. There are also plenty of extra credit opportunities available. It's an overall enjoyable and fun class.

Great at responding back on time.

Taking a full online course for the first time, I was worried that I might not be able to remember due dates since I am taking 5 other subjects too. This was not the case with prof giwargis. He sends out reminders every due dates, and prods everyone to make sure that they do not miss any of the deadlines. Quizzes every week, but not difficult.

Weekly quizzes and major assignments have infinite retake opportunities. Extra credit opportunities EVERY WEEK as well, and if its prof Giwargis that's choosing the movies for this course, then he is sure to be a man of great tastes. 10/10 class.

Look no further than this class if you need a GE or want to learn about the history of early Hollywood and reputable films. A class in which you can go at your own speed. The lectures are not required in order to complete the quizzes. He assigns one term paper but is extremely lenient. An easy and fun class, you'll regret NOT taking it.

Professor Marcel is one of the most passionate professors that I've had at PCC and he makes learning about film very engaging and fulfilling. Class is not difficult at all, quizzes are directly based off his lectures, only writing assignment was a relatively easy term paper. Lots of extra credit, 100% recommend.

I took the 6 week course and it was amazing! There would be about 3 topics covered weekly and all I needed to do was watch the lectures and take the simple short quizzes. It's an interesting class and I loved the movies we watched so def take this class!

Self paced & everything in the modules is easy to navigate. There are multiple choice quizzes due at the end of each week with unlimited attempts & the midterm + final is just a compilation of previous quiz questions. Lots of extra credit opportunities; the only writing part was a term paper (super easy). Very accessible through email.

Professor Giwargis is one of my favorite professors at PCC. I am very lucky to have the opportunity to take his class (his class is usually very popular). He cares about his students and always updates useful resources and information both in and outside of the class. His class was a great start of film study. You will never regret choosing him.

This class was recommend to me from my counselor to get my GPA up and I actually enjoyed it. I took online, in summer and was super easy and fun. I would recommend even if you think you might not like it, you will.

Quizzes & final are easy. One mid-term paper worth the majority of points; easy as long as you put in basic effort. Plenty of extra credit offered, would recommend doing it as it is not much work for good points. Despite the ease and brevity of the class (I took it during winter), I learned a lot about cinema! Took the class over winter break and was able to transition easily into something very foreign to me. This was my first cinematics class and the professor definitely didn't let me down. Class had very clear grading structure and simple assignments. Do your work and get an A.

One of the easiest class at PCC. All assignments open at the start of the class and the workload is light. Besides a midterm, final, and paper, there is only one quiz and an extra credit discussion (that only requires a couple sentences) every week. Everyone should get 100% or more in this class as everything besides paper is unlimited attempts.

I took his Cine007A online class during Spring semester for one of my elective courses. He's course is very easy as long as you watch his lectures, the movies provided and took some notes. He's very organized and has a clear grading system. He also gives a lot of extra credit to do. If you need easy A, take him!

The bulk of assignments are weekly quizzes, which are unlimited in retries + time given, so there's almost no excuse to fail any of them. There's a lot of extra credit, just beware there's an essay in the last few weeks that's 1/3 of your grade. There aren't any late work submissions allowed (except essay), but the light load more than makes it up.

Took Cinema 7A+7B at the same time from this professor, yet it was still easy to handle the work from both classes. He's understanding, lenient, and entertaining, and this even shows in his assignments/quizzes. He gives you a great amount of time to complete your work, honestly there's no reason to not take him. 100% recommend!!

Professor Marcel was the best! I took a cinema class in fall and dropped it bc the movies were only silent films that lasted two hours, it was horrible! This class on the other hand has such interesting movies that I actually enjoyed watching. Quizzes every week but if you watched the film then you will have absolutely no problem at all.Very caring

Professor Giwargis was amazing! I wouldn't consider myself a big cinema person but this class was definitely enjoyable and he really went into depth on every topic to help students understand. Most of your grade is quizzes but he allows you to retake for a better score. The hardest part of the class was the 4-7 page film analysis.

This professor was amazing , I took it for a ge but I plan on taking another course of him to fill up my credits. Films are cool , not a tough grader at all in the end gives you 15 extra credit assignments with a big 25 point one on top of that . Just one essay throughout the semester but sooo easy just simply about the film you get to pick ty prof

I enjoyed taking this class. The lectures were about 25 mins long. The films he selected to watch were all provided by him however there was a couple of times there was an error message but just go to YouTube and it's there. Overall will recommend this class to anyone!

I took Cinema 007A with Professor Marcel in Spring 25 for GE credit and decided to take Cinema 025 with him again during Fall just as an elective. I love his classes so much!!! Very straightforward and simple. One midterm paper on a movie of your choice and final exam based on the material learned. Take his class even if you don't need the credit!!

Professor accepts late work and has few assignments.

Easy A, no timed Quiz/Midterm/Final (u can retake as many as you want). He's graded the term paper easily (make sure you turn it in on time + in your own words, 4 pages minimum). Highly recom :3!!

Every module comes with an optional discussion board that gives you extra credit. Reminds students before every big assignment. Only 1 essay, super simple.
