She was a great teacher. She applies her lectures to daily events in students personal lives. As long as you show up for the lecture and take notes you won't have to open the book except for the final.

Good teacher. Her style of teaching is good, and she is funny. Makes the material seem actually interesting. I turned into a lazy ass by the end of the semester and flunked her class yet I still recommend her. Even with the F, I still remember a****load of information she taught me. Go figure.
She knows what she is teaching and definately makes her lectures interesting..they are still boring though. She doesn't lecture on everything that you are tested on so make sure you are there on the day of review so you know what to read.
Great teacher. Easy to understand, makes lecture perfectly clear, easy to talk to, interesting and interactive. Adequate # of pop quizes, definitely read (or at least scan) the text chapters**NOT ALL TEST MATERIAL IS OUT OF THE LECTURE NOTES!
Excellent! Have never fallen asleep in a lecture, they are so informative and fly by. I am learning loads and truly enjoying it. She's hilarious and makes up the most perfect examples to help us understand the material. I would recommend her to anyone!
She's a great teacher, very intelligent and informative. As long as you do all the reading and go to class you should be able to do fine on the exams. She assigned one paper but it turned out to be really easy. don't worry about the pop quizzes, they barely even count toward your grade at all anyway
Excellent teacher. SHe knows what she is talking about and makes the information fun. I got away without reading 80% of the material and got a B. The first test was the hardest, the last test seemed the easiest. She always made 3-4 questions extra credit, so it was easy to miss a few.
I specifically went to her office hours to receive help and she was completely unhelpful. The material wasn't that difficult however the way that it was presented made the class extremly hard to do well on the tests. Test material isn't all covered in the book..that means you have to go to class..which wouldn't be that bad if her knees didn't pop.
So great! She makes boring topics interesting. I was entertained, I learned a lot, & she made everything so understandable. If you don't get something, ask her in class-she'll explain it 10 times, 10 different ways if she has to (without getting annoyed!) If this is a hard subject for you, I'd recommend her. Tests arent hard if you pay attention!
shes a great teacher!!!! She expects much from you, but you learn alot. Will take another class from her agian.
She's a very nice and friendly teacher I must admit. The tests get easier and easier throughout the semester so don't hate yourself if the first test results aren't what you may expect. After taking 3 Psych classes, I'd rate her as normal.
she is fun. Very informative. Always energetic. Keeps me awake. Good class.
She's so energetic and spunky...I love her class, I always learn alot of information.....she makes it so easy to absorb the material, it's ridiculous.......Shes awesome.....
As for into class it was HARD!Exams were hard.A lot of hard terms to remember. We had to find 1 research article and summary of it.She grades very strict..Didnt lower the scale even when students had trouble. Very nice lady.Speaks fast. But I wouldnt risk taking any class with her again.Too much work just for GE class.
This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. So much material and she talks so fast. The book is not helpful at all and I took it at night, until ten, so I didn't retain much info. My advice- don't take her unless you take it during the day, with a tape recorder, and do not take with a full schedule, this class takes up a lot of time.
definitely do not take her! She was wayy too strict about EVERYTHING! Had to do a essay, she graded way too hard... she graded more on English skills rather than the psychology topic itself. her tests were hard... she took points off for stupid grammar mistakes! the book didn't help much at all. but i admit, some of her lectures were interesting...
This was my first psych class so I didn't really know what to expect. I found in this teacher that she is pretty good, except for the fact that she talks way to fast. It is hard to get everything sometimes. Other than that she is a pretty cool teacher.
Great teacher - I really like her! Funny and energetic, and extremely nice about answering questions in class. Warning - slacking or taking naps won't work in her classes. Her lectures are very fast-paced (but interesting!), which forces you to pay attention and get good at taking notes. You'll need to study and look at the book a bit.
The worst teacher most difficult teacher i have ever encountered. Outside of class she is helpful, but her tests and class periods are very challenging. She talks very fast and her tests are ridiculous. I would advise taking anyone else, you will regret it if you take her.
She has the most hideous tests, but the lectures are great. She will help you if you're having trouble with the material. Take her only if you're willing to pay attention and do the work.
very helpful but grades extremely hard
WORST TEACHER i have ever had in my life! very rude, unhelpful, grades ridiculously hard, favors certain students and negelcts the rest of the class. big mistake in taking her class... i definately do NOT recommend her!!!
Very excited about what she teaches, willing to go back over things and give examples. Very approachable.
Nice teacher, but teaching style is bad. Having 4 major assignments due on one day isn't the best way for people to learn, since they just want to finish. Work load is very high and does not reflect units granted. Take this class only if you have 1 other class, or take the other teacher.
Had to decide on one class to drop and it was an easy call - THIS CLASS! Teacher seems full of herself and specifically states in her Syllabus that you can't even miss a class if someone in your family dies. To give her credit, she loves her profession though. Just couldn't stand her cockiness.
She is very nice but her tests are very hard. You really have to know the stuff well to do really good.
AWFUlL TEACHER I have ever had in my life! Very unfair, rude, unhelpful, grades ridiculously hard, favor certain students and neglect the rest of the class. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL, her class average: Low "C-'s" I definitely do NOT recommend her!! She thinks a lot of her self, selfish! Dresses terribly and ugly! -0 rating!!!!
Do not take any of her classes!!!! She will fail you if she wants!!! Does not understand you!!! Gives way to many chapters to read at once!! Tests do not go along with her lecture or book!!! A lot of broad info on the exams!!!
I think Prof. McCormick is a great teacher. I've had her for 2 semesters and getting ready to start a 3rd with her. Follow the lesson objectives and read the book and you will do well. She's there to help also. She's nice, full of energy, and a good teacher to have at 8:00 in the morning. She's a bouncy little cutie.
Very hard teacher too many damn notes... for final is worth 45% of your final grade and each of the four tests make up 40%
Oh lord how to summarize this teacher. Well expect to work. I don't think this could be an easy class anyway, but she has high expectations. But I think she is fair, and if you are willing to put in effort, she is willing to help. I had moments of absolute hatred for this class but overall it was ok. Don't take this class if you expect an easy A.
If you have a life or addtl. class, DO NOT TAKE Psyc 310/Ms. McCormick. To pass with a C, be prepared to work 15-20 hrs/wk. Ms.M= demeaning and overconfident.Intelligence definitely doesn't yield tact for Ms.M. You must memorize billions of details. No helpful focus/study guide.Lec slides/text/lesson objectives/hmwk don't coincide My GPA 3.75 b4 her
DO NOT TAKE HER! SHE IS ABSOLUTLY UNFAIR TEACHER. VERY HARD. A LOT TO STUDY. TEST DO NOT MAKE ANY SENCE AT ALL. LOTS OF TRICK QUESTIONS. IF YOU TAKE HER EXPECT C OR EVEN LOWER. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME IN HER CLASS TAKE SOMEBODY ELSE!!!!!
Teacher claims to be caring but seems to be cocky, punitive and vested in student failure. Bi-weekly tests/cumulative final and a ridiculous paper where you have to diagnose a pretend medical disorder. Hardest class I have ever had. Studying for it was a part time job. Interested in the subject matter but teacher made class almost unbearable.
Ms. McCormick is an awful teacher. She is not very helpful unless you're one of her favorites. She has ridiculous quizzes and tests that are very tricky and she takes off a ridiculous amount of points if you just spell something wrong!!! I don't recommend her...
SHE IS GREAT! VERY HELPFUL AND MAKES THE COURSE MATERIAL VERY INTERESTING.
She is very nice and optimistic, but talks very fast and overuses the phrase, "Is that making sense?"
This class was easier than anything I ever took in high school. The material is pretty basic, so that even if you miss lectures you can get everything from the book. I never went to her for help, but she had ample office hours and always seemed available. The easiest A I ever got...if you find this class hard, you might want to reconsider college.
mccormick is really hard in my opinion, if you do not read the text book religiously you will not know anything, lectures help but dont really matter, you must read. i should have taken murakami! tests are extremely hard and it is rare to get an overall grade A in the class
I took here for 310 and 335. She is an amazing instructor. She asks a lot, but all for the students' benefit. I know my stuff after these classes and have been able to apply what I learned from to my upper division coursework. Working hard in her classes is great preparation if you want to go on in psychology. Get used to reading. It's college!
If you're not planning to read a lot DON'T take this teacher...lots of reading...test questions are very confusing...but lectures are interesting...not too many notes... to pass the class you should know all the volcabulary words(basically)...thy're the main component on the test as well
I think she is an awesome instructor. The class can be challenging because it is a lot of material, but her lectures are clear, if you don't understand something she is willing to help you, if you do the study questions and study you should have no problem passing. I have an A in the class right now with just the final to take now.
Essay's are graded as if were in an English/Writing class at Harvard University. Not to mention talks quick, although she will repeat herself if needed for notes, it is still a hassle. Exams are also sometimes unclear. This class isn't easy, I would have enrolled for another teacher if I knew before hand.
Take outstanding notes and do the assigned reading from the text to get a good grade. Watch out for the essays that she will assign, cuz she grades them ridiculously. Always check on blackboard announcements on a daily basis, she may change the due date for an assignment or be absent on a certain day. ALWAYS CHECK THE TEST SCORE ON SCANTRON!!
Mrs McCormick is awesome. She makes sure everyone understands the material before moving onto the next topic. Reading is not mandatory if you only want a C in the class. Tests should be easy if you study for them. the only homework assignments were 2 papers, which are EASY A's. I would definitley take her again
SHe was a great teacher....I learned alot from this class..it was not an easy class to take but there would ne no challenge....she made sure that we all understood the material...shes just great....i would take her again for sure
She is a great teacher. Very clear and energetic. The test is based on notes and reading. Some of the material on the tests you can only get in class. Attendance required. Tests easy if you study really hard and look at her guides on blackboard, but it's a TON of studying. Pay attention. A lot of work, no homework.
She is a really good teacher. Sometimes she is speedy and everything seems quick but as long as u study hard and pay attention u will get a good grade..prepare to read alot. I study three hours everyday for her class, so its not easy but studying time flies quicky. I would take her again. Prepares you for university.
Don't take this class as an easy elective, i wouldn't take this class if I didn't have to for my Psych. major. Definately expect to do A LOT of work; it's all worth it at the end tho when u have finished ur final paper/project! If u do all the HW/assignments u will most likely get a A/B. STUDY for the tests they are tricky (lecture & bk!)
She's an okay teacher. On a personal level she seems nice. She talks WAY too fast during lecture, and is really unorganized.
If you're an A student, take this class. It was labor intensive, but I loved it. Homework's easy, one paper - easy, the tests were pretty tough. She loves this class and it shows. Defenitely need the book.
personally, I didn't like her. in beginning of semester, class is full. by the end, it's almost empty. she's really boring. tests are hard. you have to read the book to do good! good luck!
She is very knowledgeable about this subject and was able to answer most questions. Very fair and the material is great. She always explained things well and if you had any questions would do her best to explain them to you. She does speak kind of fast, which she addressed, but you get used to it and after a couple weeks you don?t even notice it
Crazy amount of work in this class, but she was very helpful when I asked her for help outside of class. Her class really prepared me for the next class, which I am taking now and breezing through--so the work was worth it! She is also very friendly and personable.
She's great! Easy and Nice, makes class interesting and enjoys psychology so much that you do to!
I didn't mind having to read the book and memorize a bunch of stuff I didn't really care about but, she wouldn't round and 89.5% up to a 90 and that annoyed me quite a bit. Her lectures tended to be a bit stale, probably because I'm not a psych major. But if I was a psych major I'm sure I would have enjoyed the class a lot more. -GH
do not take this teacher. i ended up dropping her class because i wanted to pay attention to classes i actually enjoyed. all of her notes are on the board and they were horrible. yes she does repeat herself but she is NOT clear and annoying.i couldnt handle her or her class.her tests were absolutely rediculous with question we hadnt even gone over.
I really enjoyed this class and learned a whole lot about psychology. Marcia is a very passionate and energetic teacher and an all around kool person. Make sure you take good lecture notes and study with the textbook. The unit tests are a little tough but also open note and online, while the final is cummulative and close note.
Sneaky professor. Not much help with clarifying tests or quizzes. Horrible online lectures, Felt she didn't want anyone to succeed.
If u enjoy fast talkers, hard exam/quizzes then this is the class 4u. I do not recommend this prof. GIVES TOO MUCH INFO. Requires u 2 draw pictures. Last time I checked this was not an art class! U must attend and not miss class at all. :0( Student Beware!
She was my ultimate favorite teacher. I wish she taught more classes. She is funny and engaging, she does talk fast. Ask questions she'll answer and if she doesn't know she'll find out. I loved both her reasearch methods and bio psyc class. If you like to be challenged and think. This is the class for you.
I really enjoyed her class. Attendance Mandatory. She is extremely clear and you will get everything you need from the notes. Interesting class. The tests were hard bc they were on so much information, but I got an A in the class, you just have to really study for them. They are all multiple choice.
This professor is great! I took her for Research Methods class and it was really interesting. The class is not hard because she basically brakes up the big research assignment into a lot of little assginments which makes it easy. The tests are not hard and she is really interesting and funny. It was one of my favorite classes! I recommend her!
Prof. McCormick is SO helpful and considerate of her students. She wants to make sure that you get everything right and goes to extraordinary lengths to make it easy for you. There were a lot of assignments in her class but by the end you realize you're so glad you did them. Her tests are easy and she gives a lot extra credit opportunities.
Great prof. makes a difficult subject a bit easier to understand. really knowledgable and approachable.
This class requires a lot of reading! She provides a research project that is done throughout the semester, this is what most of your grade is based on. Do well on the first test and on the final for they account for 17% of your grade total. Be prepared for a fast paced class.
She made it very clear what was going to be on tests. Study her powerpoint slides and make sure you know the answers to her lesson objectives and its an easy class. Make sure you attend class as that is a huge part of your grade. Meaning if you show up, she will give out extra credit in the form of quiz's that are class driven. She was very helpful
I DO NOT recommend taking this instructor. I'm taking the online course. She doen't give you any preping for the exams and most of the q's on the exams are focused on the minor details. I emailed her a message and it took her 6 days to get back to me. I'm no longer interested in Psychology becuase of this class. She isn't very helpful at all. I
I wanted to do psychology my whole life, and now because of how this teacher taught, I no longer want to follow my dream. She did not explain anything well and the textbook/study guides did not match the tests at all.
I took this class online..for a more "core class" it wasn't too bad..but you have a lot of reading and studying to do..because there are detailed questions on the quizes/exams. She was nice though, and participated in all the online discussions. If you are going to make sure to put hard work into this class, then take her.
Dropped this class after 3 sessions. This is my major so I didn't want to screw up. Very fast talker hard to take good notes this way. Seems better suited to teach graduate students not CC students. Doesn't seen too concerned with how class as a whole or as individuals. Just there to get a paycheck. Good class if you just want to pass with a C.
She's one of the worst professors I've ever had online. The material is not available for you to review (right and wrong) answers together. She setups students to fail from the beginning. After the 4th chapter is a midterm exam. Then you have to study like 18 more chapters before finals. Not a good teacher--why do they still have her working here?
Professor McCormick is an AMAZING teacher who is deeply in love with what she does. I am a psych major, and no lies here, it was a very tough class. There's a lot of reading and studying involoved...but we're in COLLEGE!! All the other comments who complained about the reading and studying load need a serious wake up call. Marcia is wonderful!!!
One of the most difficult classes I have ever taken minus the feeling of being challenged. Mostly it's a class you come in very unprepared for - a lot of the information and work seems better suited for a graduate student than an introductory course. The paper especially had me scratching my head, to the point I couldn't finish it.
I had this class online & it was the hardest online class I have taken, I haven't taken an online class since this one. I felt like some info on the tests weren't even covered in a lecture or even the textbook. I think it was a lot of info with not enough time & I did not learn a single thing from this class. It was hard to even end with a C.
Very good teacher! Just show up, pay attention, and you'll do well. She tries her best to explain the concepts, if you don't understand just go to her! She will help. Challenging but worth it.
She is one of the best teachers I had! Be prepared to study a lot but u will learn a lot and she is very helpful. If you do not understand she will go out of her way to help you.
great teacher! will explain a concept until everyone gets it without losing patience. concept based, with some memorization. no homework but expect quizzes (study notes). one paper assignment. easy as long as you are thorough in your explanation. very nice and helpful. loved her. :)
Lectures are hard to follow and the exams are really hard. She is a very nice professor though.
I really enjoyed Professor McCormick's Class. I took the online class. It's challenging, but worth it. If you read the chapters and use the Mypsychlab, you should do fine. I especially recommend using the flashcards, it saves you from making your own. Her lectures and assignments are clear, no reason for you to fail her class.
The class was super easy. The exams, I found, were so simple that I barely even needed to study. Honestly, it kind of felt like I was doing the same work I had in HS. I don't have this ease with other classes, mind you, so I'm not certain why it was so easy. Maybe she's just that good of a prof. Very nice person, at the least.
Pretty horrible teacher. Lectures were mostly off topic and for the most part were different than her tests. She was nice, but not the best instructor. He final test was a day before the final. I do not recommend.
This class was horrible, confusing, crazy grading scale this should be advance psychology. I do not reccommend this class, her syllabus is 10 pgs long, smh who does that
This class was hard work, but interesting. If you worked hard you learned a lot. I've taken Prof McCormick before & she is passionate about teaching and grades fairly. For all those that complained so harshly below, if you're not ready to do college level work then don't take any of her classes, as they contain college level work. Plain & simple.
Her exams was difficult to comprehend.
I wish I had read up on this teacher before taking her class. I took her online class and everything that is said on here about her being horrible, is true. I worked very hard. I did everything she asked and she still failed me. I emailed her twice for help because her exams were so hard and confusing. She wasn't much help. Do not take her class.
Professor McCormick was tough, but helpful. I actually enjoyed this class, it was, by far, THE MOST challenging one since being back in school. Pay attention, show up, take notes. Probably about 90% of the test material comes from class notes. I also liked that she would "shush" loud kids in class (yes, I said kids!) :)
This class was THE most hardest class out there. The teacher is not helpful, the tests are on the material that is not covered in the book or the lectures. I would not recommend this class to anyone. Spare yourself a headache and get someone else.
She's an awesome teacher, optional final, she really lets the student decide their own grade in that class you could have one of your friends sign you in and shed never know, but you loss those lecture notes which turn up on the tests. Overall i really liked her shes a great teacher just be prepared to be a student!

Marcia is fairly new teacher, so she has fresh passion that really shows. She loves what she does. No lies, this class is hard and you must read the book and do not miss a class. She explains complicated concepts really well, I loved her! I worked hard and got 100% in the class without having the intro class!
Marcia is an excellent professor that wants her students to succeed. She's a great listener and very kind to all of her students. She speaks VERY FAST and take copious notes. The tests are hard, but the paper at the end of the semester is EASY. She responds to emails, and is extremely helpful ALWAYS.
I do not recommend her. The tests are very hard.
She is a great professor. She loves what she teaches and does it with passion. Notes are very helpful in her class, so make sure to take them. She also provides study guides and optional online quizzes that help with the exams you take.
Overall she was a really great teacher. She was very sweet and also blunt. If you have a weak stomach do not take her human sexuality class. She is very honest and makes us feel comfortable. I think we all shared a lot of personal stuff about ourselves we never could have done without this class
I enjoyed this class but it was a bit overwhelming. There is a lot of info and the tests were extremely hard. You must read the textbook and certainly utilize the MyPsychlab website. This was an online class so I never interacted with her but I certainly learned a lot of good info from her. I would not recommend taking this as an online class!!
Not an easy online class. I recommend that you take an On-Campus class because if you take it online there's a lot lot of reading/studying to do. Quizzes and tests are related to the book but it's tricky and confusing. You are really going to think hard to answer the questions. SO take the on campus class.
McCormick is a very understanding professor. Like others have stated, she is very to the point, somewhat impersonal at best. Course requires heavy reading, but she has it setup in an easy-to-follow format and in a very clear manner. Exams can be somewhat challenging and confusing at times. She is a fair grader and helpful to those who ask for it.
The online class was a lot of reading. You learned most of your information from the book. Some of the quiz and tests questions can be tricky and some are really easy (maybe because some are word for word on google ;) ) Just keep ontop of your work and you'll be fine
She's clear and funny
Wonderful teacher who is passionate on what she teaches. A lot of note taking in this class nearly everyday so attendance is mandatory but text is used only when she can't cover certain chapters. I only got my grade for the fact that I didn't do a major assignment and didn't study as hard as I should have. Take her! She's awesome.
This class is fun and informative! McCormick has online practice quizzes on D2L which is a plus. I can't see how anyone could fall behind in this class unless they are simply not doing what they are asked to do (show up, take notes, read). She is knowledgeable and funny. She explains everything clearly. Offers extra credit. Loved this class.
The quizzes always have a few confusing questions with answers that would confuse someone who is highly analytical, and almost every quiz has grammatical errors in it. It's obvious how much she cares to do a good job, alas, she is one of many who have a doctorate in any field and cannot manage to actually use the skill-set properly.
She's very good about answering as many questions as she can, and is always genuinely interested in your point of view. Very approachable, and a safe person to talk to.
She's probably the most fun professor you'll have at community college. She has really inclusive lectures, but there are chapters she doesn't cover to make sure you read the book. If you show up and take notes and glance over the book before tests, you're gonna pass this class. Student participation and questions are really important to her as well
I just finished her online summer course for PSYC 300 and at first I was freaking out over how much work there was but it turned out to be very straight forward assignments. I suggest copy & pasting the study guide in a doc file and writing the answers next to the questions so that you just click control find to locate your answers quickly.
Speed-talker! Nice lady. She knows her stuff and if she doesn't know an answer, she tells you so. She does talk really fast though (which she warns you about in the first class). She doesn't mind repeating herself or having you ask her to slow down. Overall, she's a great professor and I would take another class with her.
DO NOT TAKE HER! the test were extremely hard and the timing is just to stress you out!! even if you fully know everything the timing will mess everything up and stress you out! you have 1 min for each question that means not even having enough time to read the question!
I took her online class last semester. I did not enjoy the class at all. Her tests were really hard. Not enough time for all the reading questions she gave on her tests. They were ridiculous. A bunch of nonsense works.
very clear criteria, straight-forward test questions. reading is definitely required but the textbook is well written. not many assignments, only a few tests. definitely reccommended.
I took 2 classes with McCormick. Human sexuality and intro to psych. I didn't purchase the book for either class even though she told us to. I still got an A- in both. The material is easy to comprehend! She's clear& helpful. If you show up and ACTUALLY pay attention with or w/o a book, you'll do great. I missed 3 or 4 classes and still got an A
Honestly, with this class, you can get information from two different sources: the textbook or her lectures. Honestly, you could do either one, because she explains things pretty well in her lectures. I read the textbook and realized that I knew everything she covered during lecture, so I just doodled during her classes. Attendance was counted.
Entire class was power point lecture and textbook reading (only hw) then graded on 4 exams, final, and paper. She was great about answering questions and has good class discussions, really enjoyed her class. But theres a lot riding on the tests so make sure you are prepared for them. Plan on taking her 356 course!
I absolutely loved taking general principles. Her lectures are very fast paced and it is sometimes hard to keep up. However, she really goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material. I loved the lectures. DONT BUY THE BOOK. I didn't touch it once and got an A exclusively on notes taken in class. I would take again.
I took her online psych300 class. It was a good class although online classes are difficult and you really need to apply yourself and set time aside to learn the material. The tests and quizzes were very difficult.
Great teacher very outgoing. She's one of the funniest teachers I've had. She goes over the material very well and puts out a lot of resources to study for exams. If you do not enjoy/want to study don't take the class. Her tests are very hard with a lot of material covered in them and her four exams make up 70% of your grade.
If you're looking for an interesting and easy-to-understand Psych class, TAKE McCORMICK! (I took Psych300 with her and I am planning to take more classes with her next semester) She is sensitive to the fact that the students in her Psych300 class are mostly freshman, so don't worry about feeling overwhelmed.
After taking both psyc300 and psyc356 (human sexuality) with Prof. Mccormick, i found a new love for psychology. Her lectures are very straight forward and her grading is simple. She loves participation from the class, and the more her students interact, the more interesting you'll find the material. She easily relates the class to real life.
She was an excellent teacher! She knows how to explain the material and is very good t connecting with you as a class. She is a nice and bubbly person and makes you feel comfortable. Attendance is considered mandatory but if you miss a few classes it's fine. She puts all lectures and study guides online.
She's the best. All you need to do is show up, listen to the lecture, which by the way are very well explained, refresh your memory by reading the textbook and you'll ace this class. If you do that you'll get an A.
She is so nice I loved taking her class. It was easy to follow her lectures and her tests were super strait forward! Wonderful kind and funny women, will admit when she doesn't know something and look it up so that she can give you the right answer. If you can take her class do it I don't think there a better human sexuality teacher on campus!
She is an amazing professor! Her lectures are very well paced and easy to follow. As long as you pay attention and take notes, you will do good. She makes the topics interesting and fun. Only one essay. I honestly have never studied and I have a B. I would highly recommend her and plan on taking another one of her classes if possible.
Strictly online psychology course. Crisp clear criteria and is responsive to questions. She used both her own questions on tests and also Pearson online quizzes.
Very solid teacher that teaches with enthusiasm and likes what she does. Very practical course and taught in a stream lined way. Take notes and review book before testes and it will be a breeze.
Marcia is the best. I took her for psych of women and it was such a great class. I didn't buy the textbook and just used her Powerpoints and my notes to study and got an A on every test. Didn't have to take the final. Her lectures were very interesting to me. Very minimal homework. She is super sweet and I highly recommend her for any psych class.
The subject requires you to remember a lot of information. Being Online you must participate or you'll get dropped; but you get plenty of time to read, study and participate in group discussions; no reason to slack off. She gives opportunities for extra credit and a grade improvement; hard subject if Psychology is not your thing. Get ready to read!
The online class wasn't my first, and her set up could be easier and more user friendly but it still wasn't hard to navigate. 4 exams and a final along with a few discussion boards. She gives you online study guides which make studying much easier. I look forward to taking her next semester.
Literally not hard at all, she offers so much extra credit, you have to pass with an A. Everything was super easy. I mean her essay project was a little challenging, because she did have higher expectations. But still passed with an A with no effort so I cannot complain.
Professor McCormick is the best professor I have ever taken. I took her general psychology, biological psychology, and biological psychology lab class. She is super organized and gets your grades back super quick. She is so helpful and loves what she does. If you follow the syllabus, it should be a super easy A.
Her tests are difficult, and a lot of the material on them includes stuff that we've never seen in her lectures. She was also gone for a month and still gave us an exam that was important to our grades when we didn't even have class. Avoid this teacher
when she was present in class, she was lecture HEAVY. but something happened and she was completely gone, we had different subs everytime. i wasn't sure what to study for the exams she still gave even though she wasn't teaching. she did give extra credit. take her ONLY if you already know psych and just need a refresher, otherwise don't.
Very few assignments, but lots of reading and note taking. 2 quizzes every week; 3 exams every 3 weeks. Quizzes and tests will MAKE your grade. There is hardly enough time to complete all the reading and do all the recommended notes each week, which makes passing the tests and quizzes difficult. Very strict on what is due, and there is a lot.
Really clear grading rubric. I took the class online and she offered a grade improvement exam at the end of the semester to improve your worst exam grade. Lots of textbook usage and good lecture notes. Use her provided study guides and you'll pass.
nice professor, easy class. each week, read a chapter, take 2 quizzes, and a discussion post once in a while. 4 tests, plus the final, and 1 writing assignment. 2 extra credit quizzes, and you can retake one of the tests at the end of the semester. she makes helpful study guides for each chapter, and all you have to do is fill them out.
Listen, she is doing too much. I have more homework in her 1 unit lab class than I do in my 4 unit language class. Like come on bring it down some. I do not recommend her if you have a full load. She's doing extra. It's homework every week and a test which always seems like shes trying to trick you up on some of the questions.
Very nice and helpful. There was a final paper but she was very lenient and nice with the grading. Weekly quizzes as well as 5 exams with the lowest one dropped. I didn't mind her class but It was also tough because of the heavy workload. accepted late assignments or quizzes for up to a week with no consequences with grades. would take again.
Professor McCormick was amazing!! She was very lenient with the deadline on our final paper and always offered extended deadlines on assignments. She also offered a few opportunities for extra credit. Definitely would take her course again.
She was awesome. Zoom meetings were mandatory for the first lab but after that, we no longer had zoom meetings. So about the first 6 weeks or so? It was not hard to navigate and shes extremely helpful/responsive when you have questions.
She has been by far the most labor-intensive professor I have encountered. I had her for both the lecture and the lab. Her lab is ridiculous in the amount of work for 1 unit. A lot of reading and the tests are pretty difficult even when you've read all the material. She is not uncaring, but she could definitely be more caring!
She provides detailed weekly lectures that make taking the weekly quizzes very easy. Work is pretty much cut out for you if you do the work you'll pass. She keeps students well informed and is easily accessible if you need her.
She is passionate about what she teaches and she tries to get the students just as excited as her. But the amount of work she gives for a 1 unit class is ridiculous. I've had less work for my 3 unit classes. ITS ONLY 1 UNIT! Do not take her class if you have a full load of classes, you will regret it.
She's a good prof, but this was a hard class and there were times when I really struggled to keep up with the workload. Lots of heavy reading, 1 or 2 mult choice quizzes every week, 4 mult choice exams, one final, and one short paper on a TEDtalk of your choice. Midterm is available for extra credit at the end of the semester.
Professor (5)Very caring & understanding. Clear expect, fair grading &organized- However, you have A TON of work 2do.This is a very fast-pace class. Sugg: Watch/listen 2 lecture & follow along w/slides THEN read chpt &take CLEAR&DETAILED notes. You will spend at least 6-9hours/week on this alone. Work isn't hard, just ALOT You must earn your grade!
Highly recommend her for taking biopsych! She cares a lot about her students. Lots of extra credit oppurtunities, not a tough grader, most of her questions can be found online though.
this is by far my favorite class ever; idk why people say she's difficult. we do everything in class, and you get credit for completion as long as you understand what she taught. she was patient with everyone and genuinely loves what she does. there will be quizzes during the first 1/2 but they're very helpful & beneficial for one practical exam.
I had an absolutely wonderful time in Professor McCormick's class. She is so kind and so helpful, most of the assignments are done in the classroom which was a huge plus for me. The class itself is pretty long, but you are mostly doing lab work, so the time goes by fairly quick. She was so accommodating for me when I needed it.
Professor McCormick is great! Class is long but shes very personable and is happy to go off topic a bit. Class consists mostly of pop quizzes first thing, lecture, and then an in class lab assignment. Almost all the work is done in class and you don't really have to do anything at home. Grades locked all semester but she offers ways to calculate it
Prof McCormick is passionate, but the workload for this 1-unit class is intense. Definitely doable if you're dedicated, but be prepared for weekly homework and tricky exams. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for studying.
Professor McCormick is so respectable and understanding. The lectures are long (3 hours) but they're very interesting and easy to keep up with. One practical exam! However, she prepares you really well for it & after that, there's no final. There are occasional quizzes online, but those are easy. You get the grade you work for but she's amazing!!!
She forces you to sign a "Student Contract" or else she will drop you from the class w/in the 1st week. What instructor do you know that even has a student contract to begin with? Is she that bad that students filed law suits against her? Or filed complaints w/the dean? This is unsettling. And talk about COERSION. Does the Dean or D.O.E. know?
Professor McCormick's biopsych class can have a heavy workload, inefficient covering of course material in lectures, and exams that have insanely specific questions, making it impossible to get satisfactory grades unless you have a photographic memory. Overwhelming use of course terminology and very strict grading can be expected.
She was an interesting and caring professor! Most work is done in class as activity packets you'd have to do in groups and had quick online and in-person quizzes each class based on one exam in the beginning of the semester. Lectures are information HEAVY, and she talks and goes over many things quickly. It's ez A if you show up and do the packets.
Gives good feedback when you are struggling with subjects, but the topic is really difficult if you are just looking at the slides that are given (test/quiz questions were things I'd never seen before). Overall, good teacher but a hard course
