best professor i had at SSC... not a class for the sensitive though

excellent professor. funny, energentic... great class to take. only weekly quizzes, no tests or papers.

Certainly is provocative and class is never boring, but is very stuck up and can be very dismissive. She is a good professor but in her mind she is the greatest professor on earth, nay the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!

Although she talks alot about herself, she is a very informative teacher. She knows what she is talking about. There are weekly quizzes (which she usually teaches to) and no papers or tests. I learned alot from her class.

I really loved this class, don't see any of that stuck-upness that many commented on, she seems very sweet and caring about her family. Does tell alot of personal stories, but I think they make the class more interesting. Always looking for participation, not boring/lecture. She seems very sweet.

Very smart professor but classes are somewhat boring. Quizzes are too unpredictable.

BY far my favorite psychology teacher at salemstate. i actually payed attention. her lectures r entertaining. she is very amusing and always had be laughing. no tests or papers only a weekly 10 multiple choice quiz.does talk alot about herself but it amused me.

Very Bubbly. Take lots of notes, and study the notes!

Very knowledgeable; made students think about life.

Brings a lot of energy to her classes. Highly recommended.

Seminar course on effects of tv media on child and adolescent development made me think about tv programs and ads in a whole different way. Lots of written assignments, but interesting work. Take this course, if you get the chance!

Dr. W is certainly interested in the subject matter of this course and it comes across in every class.

There is always something new to learn in every class. Professor Weinstein makes you think.

Not only did i learn a lot of the material which I know will help me in the future, but I listened a lot to some of the things you said, and some of the advice you gave us in class and I know it will help me make the right decisions in life.

Seminar on effects of tv viewing on child and adolescent development is amazing...you will never watch shows or commercials the same way again! Makes you think about this through the eyes of others, too.

Professor Weinstein is an amazing teacher you truly learn the material and laugh the whole class no tests or final! just 10 question quizzes. Take any of her classes if you have the chance!

Child&Adolescent Psych. She is very insightful, knows a lot in her field. I learned a lot. The class is fun and she likes to have a little fun with her lectures. No midterms, finals, or tests, just 10 multiple choice question quizzes. Attendance not mandatory. A very easy class that I actually looked forward to going to @ 8:00 AM.

This professor is smart and knows her stuff. She gets her students involved. She is funny, too, which helps me stay awake at 8 am.

She is hilarious! The class was somewhat difficult. Attendance is mandatory, and you have 3 papers total. (the first two are 5-6 pages) and the third is 10-12 pages. Grade is based off class participation, attendance, papers, and lead discussions (you have to discuss 2 articles in front of the class) you HAVE to read everything she assigns.

Her personality is.. overwhelming at times. But really she's nice and she knows her stuff and teaches you a lot. She is very set in her ways and in your face and I would not get on her bad side. Her quizzes are difficult and straight from the text. On the bright side, no exams, just quizzes every week and extra credit. Read and go to class.

Dr. Weinstein is a great professor. She knows her stuff and cares about her students and sincerely wants you to learn. This class wasn't easy, plenty of reading and many quizzes throughout the semester along with an oral report but you get out of it what you put into it and she makes class fun and engaging. Highly recommended.

Wonderful professor. Gives out a lot of quizzes so make sure you read the chapter, ask questions and pay attention to notes. Some chapters she won't teach for the quiz so you need to read the chapter! Many quizzes she drops the lowest two, an oral report and extra credit! Great Professor will recommend her to anyone!

Make sure you read the chapter and go to class and pay attention in class. You get quizzes on each chapter and she drops the lowest two. Going to class and paying attention and reading the chapter will help you succeed well on the quizzes.

Prof. Marcia Weinstein is wicked smart and well organized. She has a good sense of humor, too. Time goes by quickly in her classroom. I would recommend that you take this course with her.

Dr. Weinstein is an interesting character. I really enjoyed her classes, I took both 218 and 252 at the same time. The class is wicked easy, you just need to read the chapters, and thats where the quiz questions come from. No Midterm or Final, just the quizzes, an oral presentation, and she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities! Hope this helps

Fabulous! So funny and we actually talk about things that are helpful and relevant. My favorite teacher at SSU so far!

I loved this teacher, she is zaney and hilarious. You don't have to go to class (but it is recommended if you want to do well on the quizzes. you have 15 10 question quizzes, and 1 (easy) presentation, which accounts for your grade in that class. I learned a lot in that class too.

She is a little out there, but she is funny and really interested in how well you do. I would take her class again, make sure to study for each quiz and you should be all set.

I loved this professor. She has so much knowledge and passion for Psychology. You really didn't have to go to class because she did't take attendance, but every other class was a quiz. (so going to class really helped with the quizes, even though they were chapter quizes). NO final, NO midterm, just quizes and an article summary.

Makes class fun and interesting. Quizzes from the book so you have to read a lot. she is very knowledgeable and passionate about psychology. wants the best for her students.

For the love of god, GET THE BOOK!! It's the only way you'll do well. Other than that, she was a fantastic teacher. Always energetic and encouraged discussions. Gives great feed back. Tests were so difficult, though. I highly recommend her if she's teaching a class you are interested in.

This course satisfies the Writing requirement at Salem State: 3 papers, and a couple of class presentations. There is a lot of required reading, but most of it is very interesting. Professor Weinstein is very well organized and smart. She cares a lot about his course and her students in it.

Professor Weinstein is a great teacher. You must read the whole book carefully to do well in her course. In the end, you will realize that you learned a lot.

Dr. Weinstein....wow! I learned psychology but she also set me up for life. She has so much wisdom and she's not afraid to tell it how it is. You'll grow as a person after a semester with this woman. I wish I had more chances to be her student. I did fairly well in her class and she didn't mind my few absences though I HATED missing her lectures!

Take this course on Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence with Weinstein, if you can. She makes the class fun and you will learn a lot.

One of the best professors that I have ever had! She gives a quiz almost every class, but it's on the reading and lectures from class so they're not hard if you pay attention! If you take Childhood and Adolescence, you have write about an article relating to the subject and present it in front of class, or give her a written paper. She is very fun.

Professor Weinstein is hilarious and you will walk away with more life tips than any other class. She's a walking encyclopedia and keeps up with the latest psych news. There's a quiz every week on each chapter of the book. Just read the end chapter summaries if you're lazy and you should pass. You have to be an idiot to fail

Professor Weinstein always came prepared for seminar. She learned the students' names right away and pulled everyone into the discussion. The difficulty of the readings is variable, but we go over all of them in class, which really helped when it was time to write the papers.

Overall, I would have to say I enjoyed this class very much. I am not one who enjoys to go to class (ESP @ 8am!!) but I looked forward to this class and the conversations. However, Dr. Weinstein can be stuck in her ways and you may not always like what she has to say about controversial issues (very closed minded) but She was a GREAT Professor!

She tries to get the class engaged and she keeps your attention with some humor and interesting examples. You will not pass without the book. She gives a small quiz almost every class, but no tests. This class meets for almost 3 hours, but the time just runs by. Professor Weinstein keeps your interest, even at 8 am.

Professor Weinstein, was an overall good professor. Sometimes when you try and answer questions and answer incorrectly, she might make you feel stupid, so be cautious of that (but do participate). You have a test every week (for the most part) on every chapter; 10 questions multiple choice. And you have an oral presentaion due at some point.

This lady knows her stuff and loves teaching child and adolescent development.

Marcia is my girl! Her class seems intimidating at first and she is a big personality but I love Marcia! Although she has yet to figure out my name after four months of her class I wouldn't have it any other way. Pretty great lady and I would definitely take a class with her again. Basically a quiz every class but no final so bless up

I would take another class with Weinstein in a minute. She's hilarious but kind of crazy at the same time. Read the chapters of the book and you'll pass the quizzes--and you always know ahead of time when the next quiz is. Tons of extra credit options which boost your grade a lot and they're super easy. Love her!!

Prof Weinstein is amazing -- passionate about this course and wants students to do well. I did not mind getting up for this 8 o'clock class and the time just flies by.

Had a quiz almost every class, mainly textbook questions but also some stuff in class so you have to go and get the notes and take the quizzes anyways. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and drops the two lowest quiz grades. Sometimes she was hard to follow.

I didn't think I could stay awake in an 8 o'clock class, but Professor Weinstein is energetic, smart, and funny. She invited guest (expert) speakers sometimes to join her through the course, which added more viewpoints. I would take another course with her.

Best professor I have had. She is so funny and makes class so interesting. You have 1-2 quizzes a week and need to pay attention in class AND read the textbook. Each quiz is 10 multiple choice and you sometimes have a bonus. She gives a list of extra credit for the class and you can do up to 20 points. I would definitely take her again!!!

Take this class if you want to learn about life, as well as psychology. Professor Weinstein is knowledgeable and funny, even at 8 o'clock in the morning!!

Professor Weinstein knows so much about the history of psychology, and stays up to date, too. She tells stories that help students understand important ideas in the textbook. I hope I can take another course with her.

Had her for developmental psych and now her seminar. Would not have it any other way. Challenges you in a way to prepare you, inspires you to write better academically and gives good feedback. Best 8am seminar I could ever take. Shes funny, interesting, intelligent, and really cares for you. Could not recommend a better professor.
