Class is fun, you play games to learn to material. You get to know your other classmates really well. Participate in the discussions and you won't have any problems.

Takes attendance, more than 6 drops you a grade. Very helpful, makes class fun! A caring person who is willing to work with students who are new to public speaking. 2 tests, 3 speeches, 1 final, online homework. Loved that class!

It is NOT impossible to get an A. She doesn't like to give 100% but it's still possible to get an A. She makes class fun.

I came in hating public speaking, and even though I still hate it, I don't hate it as much. She makes you laugh and works to make speaking more fun and comfortable. If you really want to grow, dont take group speaking, take comm 3 with Marcie!

She is one of the best teachers i've had. She keeps you entertained with things that would relate to you in class. I really liked the group I was put into. Also we took group tests which was nice and helped if you didnt know an answer but your group did. She gives many opportunities for E.C. ALso going to class was somewhat mandatory. Take her!!!!!

one of my best teachers this semester! she may intimidate you the first week of class but she is really caring. would give you a lot of opportunities to raise your grade. we only did two panel discussions and we did it as a group. three exams with your group. its all about groups but you can raise your grades independently. come to class everyday!

Ms. Lierly is amazing! Definitely one of my favorite professors. This class was fun and I learned a lot. She tells you what you need to know for each test and her lectures are interesting. She is willing to help students and you can tell she wants all her students to pass the class.

You have to do your work and make sure that you turn everything in on time. Be aware of groups, mine was very bad and it made it very difficult to get through the class.

Professor Lierly is an amazing teacher. She is strict with due dates. You have to have them in on time and they HAVE to be printed she will not take anything handwritten. Her classes are mandatory and you can only miss two days before she drops you a letter grade. Even with all that her classes are a blast and she is very friendly.

She's an awesome Professor. She's very straight forward, attendance is mandatory. There will be presentation throughout the semester. If you miss even one Presentation, it will be an automatic (Fail) in the class. Make sure you stay on top of things and you won't have any problem in class. Not much HWs, majority of the work is your presentation.

Comm 8 was such a great class! Lierly is a great professor with a positive upbeat attitude. She will always make you feel right at home. But if you don't like being called out on or joked around with, don't take her class. Other than that, she is a great professor, the class isn't that hard, and it is well with your time.

She is awesome! Super straight forward and she tells it like it is. She is always willing to help. Tests are okay, just do the readings. Writing assignments are hard and have to be specifically how she wants it, but she may be vague about it sometimes. Make sure you know ask for help if you don't know what to do for the assignments.

You present with groups and she assigns you cool presentation topics. the tests aren't too hard, you just need to study the terms. First year at Fresno State & she was by far my favorite professor. Truly loves her job & students, she just wants to see you succeed. Hilarious, tests aren't difficult & makes giving speeches so comfortable. This was the only class where I knew everyone by name & felt very comfortable. Do your outlines, practice your speeches. Amazing class.

First time freshman, and her class was my favorite. She has a good sense of humor, makes her students feel comfortable. Two quizzes and Final. Three speeches assigned throughout the semester. If you miss your speech day you fail the class. Outlines are due a lecture before your speech day, and reflections are due a lecture after speech day.

She will pick your groups out. you must meet with your group to get work done. She offers tons of extra credit. There is about 4 or less group project. lets you use index cards. Tests will not affect you grade that much. If you miss a project the day you are supposed to go up you will fail the class. It is an easy A.

She is awesome! She takes the time to get to know each of her students on a personal level, even the quiet ones. She has a loud personality and you can't help but love her. Her class is very warm and welcoming. She is constantly encouraging her students and giving support. Even when someone messes up during a speech she still is very reassuring.

I absolutely loved this teacher and would recommend her to anyone. She is funny and made going to her class enjoyable. She gives you guidelines on how to write your outline for your speeches and if you follow your outline to write your speech it should be easy. For tests, really make sure you understand the material, but it's mostly common sense.

Exams are easy, common sense, but make sure you read the book as well. Book is easy and quick to read. She really helps you improve on you're speeches and connects with every student.

I took this course my freshman year at fresno state and am not just reviewing her but as a Senior I can honestly say she is the best professor I have ever had. She reminds me more of a high school teacher in the way she builds relationships with her students. Funny, easy going, always ardent . TAKE HER.

As a freshman, in my first semester of college Comm 3 with Lierly was great. Shes hilarious and gets to know all of her students. Theres 3 speeches in the semester and 3 tests including the final which are extremely easy. Without a doubt shes my favorite professor yet.

Honestly, shes a great professor! She is funny and straight up. She gives you feedback on what you need to improve within your speeches. All the tests are online. The textbook wasnt really used. Id recommend taking her course. If I could I would def. take more of her courses! However, if honesty hurts you then you shouldnt take her course lol.

Professor Lierly was funny and jokes around sometimes but she can be real and strict when things need to get done. She knows when there is time for fun and time for work. Make sure to do your readings and take good notes on lectures if you want to pass your quizzes. Also, make sure to meet with your groups as much as possible.

Shes a good professor, however she does get nit picky about the phones and takes attendance which is quite annoying for a college class. The class is straightforward and is relatively easy just do your work and continually check canvas to stay up to date on assignments. 3 tests throughout the semester, all online and you get 2 attempts.

so like, i have all good grades, good presentation grades like 96/100, however i missed one test and my grades no matter how hard I try to make it up, it remained a B, so the thing is, DONT MISS YOUR TESTS! its all online, class is easy, just strict about phone use, and having bad teammates, will impact your group score.

She was always very lively, definitely never a dull moment with this professor. She really cares for what she teaches, and wants to help everyone out. If you're a shy student, don't expect to be able to hide from her, she'll call anyone out, for good or bad purposes. Sweet lady, wish she would have done more announcements on canvas though.

Professor Lierly is a fantastic professor! I took her class for Comm 3 and did not regret it! The speeches you deliver as a student are fairly easy and she gives thoughtful feedback after each speech. She is a kind and understanding professor as well, but make sure you get all the points you can from participation and assignments!

I had Mrs. Lierly last semester and taking her class was the best decision. You hardly have homework besides the work you have to do for your speeches. She is so nice and is such a mom. She cares for her students and their wellbeing. She's super easy to communicate with and through the pandemic she changed her entire syllabus to fit our needs.

Professor Lierly was honestly one of the hardest professors Ive taken at state. As a liberal studies major, I did learn A LOT. This class isnt hard, it just takes time & effort. Shes always available for questions and is very caring. She has a young personality and cares for her students success in her class. I definitely recommend taking her!

You have to partner with a teacher in the district in this course, if you don't partner with a teacher by the deadline, you risk failing or getting dropped. All assignments and quizzes were straightforward and fairly easy. The prof is really enjoyable and I looked forward to attending her class (and I took her at 8AM)

Lierly is great! You do have to work with a teacher for this course so be prepared to observe a teacher and fill out a few assignments. There is a mini-lesson plan you have to present but she helps you with most of it. Short mini quizzes online on some of the textbook chapters. Show up to class because she gives great advice and she is so funny!

I enjoyed my time in her class. She is very direct and kind. The assignments were undemanding of my time. The lesson plan was the most difficult assignment for me, but she helped me a lot with feedback. I made friends in this class :) If you need to take a class, I would recommend her!!

I really like the way professor lierly lectures. she gives great explanations and this is so far my favorite class this semester. she makes class interesting and fun. there is class observation assignments, 4-5 homework each week, a lesson plan, a final exam, weekly quizzes. she is a tough grader on the homework

She is AWESOME, you do need the textbook for the quizzes! Assignments are fairly easy but you do have to have a partner teacher for most assignments. Have one presentation at the end of the semester, she's very nice and caring. She is not difficult if you put the effort in she will help you with whatever she can!

Professor Lierly is AMAZING!! She creates fun in-class activities, making public speaking much easier to perform. There are 4 speeches: intro (video), informational, persuasive, and special occasion. The last 3 speeches are in person! She uplifts her students and helped me feel more comfortable with speaking publically. No textbook! Easy quizzes!

Lierly is a good professor, but is a tough grader. Most assignments are teacher partner required which means you have to take time out of class to get a decent grade. No final required but you have to make a lesson plan presentation and a "final" assignment.

Required to find a school to do a few assignments throughout the semester. Will need to do a lesson plan as well. Some minor assignments, 1-2 quizzes here and there. She's very blunt and straightforward and came off as intimidating but gets more relaxed as the semester progresses. Don't take her feedback personally. She's just trying to help you.
