There are easier teachers out there for speech, but she graded easy and the tests were hard. Played silly games and had to be in class the majority of the time. She was pretty understanding with students.

Very nice woman but the the kindergarten games were too much. She definitly knows her stuff and can teach communications. Only avoid her if you despise group exercises that are on the level with cookies and naptime.

Shes an okay teacher. She's a real nice lady, but she does grade tough sometimes. In the middle of the semester, it does seem like she packs on a lot of work. Speech after speech and multiple assignments all at once.

Professor Pachter is one of the best Professors I have ever had! Her class is always extremely interesting and we have a lot of fun! You do have to work in her class to get an A but it is all fun! TAKE HER if you want to have an awesome speech class! She made public speaking a breeze!

Easy A. Great teacher, she includes fun activities into her class that help students understand the key concepts. Only two test for the whole semester. They are not long or hard at all. Short simple and to the point.

Very easy class, but when is speech ever hard? Well, there's the whole deathly afraid of an audience thing, I guess. She made her lectures very clear and easy to understand with powerpoint, and obviously it wouldn't be hard to understand her...she teaches speech. I would recommend her I got an A.

fun and exciting teacher. we did lots of little things in class usually with groups, which was pretty fun. not very hard. intro, informative, and persuasive speech, group speech, then a toast at the end of semester. kind of a lot of work, but the class was fun.

Great Teacher! She really cares about her students and she is a lot of fun, I never overcame my fear of pulic speaking but I still got an A! She makes you play a lot of silly games in order to get you comfortable with the other people in the class. I highly recommend her.

Public Speaking

I dreaded speech class - but she made us all feel comfortable for our speeches. Class was auctually fun and intresting. It is ALOT of work and she is pretty tough w/ grading. Try hard and u'll do fine

I had her for my first class in college, and she is a great teacher. She allows three missed classes but after that you will get points taken off your grade. She is a easy teacher if you listen and do the work. The work is all fun and the speeches were easy because she prepares you for them prior. Great teacher if you want to take a class and pass

Although Marcie knows her communication well, she can be guilty of not being mindful of what it is that she states at times. The setting in this class is so fitting for an Elementary school leveled mentality.... I could not wait for the foolishness to END!!!!!!

This class, although easy, was annoying to deal with. Sadly, I feel as though we were talked to like we had an eight year old's brain capacity. Kind of insulting. The work was okay, but when I got the tests they were pretty tricky. I was actually very excited to take this course, but now learning about the voice bores me to tears.

She talks a LOT. The class itself was fun, but she grades very harshly, so make sure you do a good job. You must be creative and "capture the audience" in your speech or she will deduct point. And she "makes examples" of students so don't be late or else...I got an A, but I didn't enjoy the class, really.

She is very chatty however she means well. Very easy and willing to help. She has zero tolerance for those who do not do her work. If you do not do it, do not show up. Which is completely understandable. Other than that, she is fun.

Prof. Pachter's class was very interesting,keeps you focused on class with different group activities. This helps so you create a bond with your classmates. You need to attend class to do best in her class. I won't say she was easy but she is fair if you put your best effort. Make sure you know how to work a presentation software before attending.

Class is easy and the only people that don't do good are the ones who don't use their work. It had nothing to do with their abilities to deliver a speech. The big research speech is the most difficult assignment, but if you get stuck with a bad group for the group speech you could also be in trouble. Amazing teacher and she keeps lectures fun and interesting. You will hardly ever sit in rows. Most of the time you are in groups or doing activities.

I took Mrs. P Fall 2014... I dreaded speech for such a long time. Her class was pretty easy as far as the work goes. The group speech and individual speeches were really stressful for me, but I'm glad I ended up taking her class. Any speech class you take is gonna suck. Hers will probably suck the least lol

Mrs. Pachter is an amazing professor! Public speaking doesn't seem to be anyone's favorite thing to do. But Pachter is so motivating and so inspiring. She's also pretty funny. She's just one of those beings who make you feel secure and comfortable. The class is far from boring, we were doing new activities every week. She's the best!

She gives really helpful feedback that can be a huge jump in improving your next speeches in the class. SO kind but can also be passive. Stay on her good side.

Professor Pachter knows what she teaches like the back of her hand. You can tell by how she presents her lectures that shes experienced and truly cares about the topic. Her class is very dynamic and fun. Be prepared to do group work and some really easy homework. Hardest part of the class is the research speech, but with her help it was easy.

Very active and personable teacher. Most people try to complain about her work, but I took her for an express 6 week course with no change in the work load and, unless you're extremely lazy, it is 100% do-able. I passed with a 99% and ended up making a great professional connection with her out of the course.

First day of class your put in to a group who you interact with A LOT, theres a lot of socialization that she makes us have with our classmates & in class. 3 speeches overall & the homework is easy stuff, she lets you get a better grade on stuff if you want. I took her for the summer course shes a nice/helpful teacher, totally recommend!

I dreaded taking speech class, but Prof P made it really fun. She encouraged the whole class to support one another throughout speeches. There's only 3 speeches and the groups we form are not made with the purpose of coming together for a grade but feedback and collaboration, which was really nice. Professor Pachter is the best teacher you could have for Speech class. I took her in the summer class and I love it. She makes the class fun, and you learn a lot from her. The first day of class she puts you in a group and you get to know new people that can end up being your best friend haha.

This class was an easy A! She offeres lots of extra credit opportunities. You do work in groups throughout the semester but they are educational and fun activities! She prepares you correctly for speech days. Only two speeches for the whole semester which is awesome! If you need any help, just ask and she will! Take her... you will not regret it!

Like most people, I am scared of public speaking. However, professor Pachter really made the class as comfortable as it could be for us to give our speeches. As we were forced to switch to online only, she took it in stride and continued to teach at a high level through the tough conditions.

I took her class throughout Distance Learning & she did a wonderful job on making it easy for her students to understand the criteria. If you aren't comfortable with turning on your camera or public speaking then you shouldnt take her. There are 2 main speeches that are a few minutes & you will be required to turn on your camera! She's very sweet!

Prof. Pachter is hands down the best professor Ive had. She wants her students to succeed. I took her class during COVID so the curriculum was altered. I presented two speeches. There were weekly quizzes, a few assignments, open book lecture-based unit tests, and plenty of extra credit. 10/10 recommend to anyone taking speech!!!!

Honestly, she's the sweetest human being. All you have to do is show up to class and listen to the lectures because they are very beneficial. She wasn't too heavy on homework but gave a quiz every week which was only 10 questions and can be found in the powerpoints. Don't let all the negative comments deceive you, Professor Patcher is the most caring person I have ever met and she tries her hardest to ensure all her students pass. she's a great professor. doesn't overwork you with ton of assignments. she can have her moments, but if you can look past them and work on the given tasks you'll definitely get an A. super easy quizzes, engaging lectures, and provides extra credit. just be sure to attend and participate in class. communicate with her, she'll help you!

Ms. Pachter was great! As long as you turn your assignments in on time and do the quizzes, everything is pretty much straightforward.

Her lectures, interactions, motivations, and seamless presentations made that class feel like she already knew us and was willing to give her all to her classes. Being in Fundamental of Speech Communication, she made a person (me) petrified of giving a speech open to it in future endeavors.

She is one of the best professors here at PBSC. This class is time-consuming, and you have to put your work in. It was a great class and set me up to succeed in other college classes. Professor Pachter is so unique and super kind. I recommend her to all my friends, but you can't slack off. You get what you put into it.

I loved Ms. Pachter. I has very nervous about having to take a speech class and i had a lot of anxiety with presenting in front of the class but she made the process as seamless as possible. Her lectures and powerpoints are very straight forward. She's awesome. If you have to take a speech class, PICK HER!! I cannot recommend her enough.

Prof Pachter is very professional, but she makes sure you are putting in the work! Lectures are very interesting+usually have to do with social events in current media! If you're not a fan of group projects, this is your sign as we had group work multiple times. Every project leads up to the ending speech presentation. 1 big paper midway.

LOVED HER!!! She is so nice and definitely cares for her students. Fair amount of work and I wouldn't say it's easy but it's definitely manageable and not hard. If you take her online you have to record speeches and responses on flipgrid, as well as take quizzes and tests and a few assignments that have to be submitted on Canvas.

Best professor I've had at PBSC. Clear instructions. Organized Powerpoints. Communicated expectations. Clear deadlines. Extra credit available. Helpful, timely feedback.

Ms.Pachter was AMAZING! She was the most engaging teacher I've had, and can tell she loves her job. She was kind, talked to us, and guided us in our assignments. Just don't cheat or plan to cheat. AT ALL. I would definitely take her class again it was terrific and easy only because I did my half, and she did hers! 10/10!

id like to start off this rating saying, ignore the only 3 bad ratings. I promise you those people were just lazy and expected to be spoon fed. Miss P is one of the most amazing and easy professors ive had. She is super funny and caring and available at all times. lectures are hands on and you will learn so much in her class. I could go on and on.

Powerpoints and notes provided as well as videos for each lecture. Quizzes, tests, and flip grid videos must be completed as with the occasional essay/long format assignments, but extra credit is always available and she is open to communication!!

Every week contains either a Flipgrid discussion or response post, and the assignments are fairly easy as long as you spend the time. There are only two tests but there's a short quiz in every module and every quiz/test is open notes.

She was amazing in my opinion. Her lectures were very sweet and directive. Her lessons taught me things I can use later in life. Really builds connections with students. Easy group work and speech was nervous but she walks you through it all. Highly recommend.

She gives truly helpful life advice. Her whole class is very important and valuable in every aspect. It's well worth the money. She's kind and respectful as long as you are.

I failed com at a previous school and she broke it down so I could understand. I learned so much in this class and the workload is fairly easy. I ended with an A+. She is always available to help and gives great feedback.

This class was very easy. I took it in six weeks, and it is very fast-paced, but everything is very straightforward. Professor Pachter is very caring and wants her students to succeed. She is more than willing to help with anything, so if you have questions, message her! 2 speeches, speech writing assignments, 2 tests, and 4 discussions

Professor Pachter doesn't hand out 100s easily, but she gives great feedback so you will always know exactly what she wants from you. She does allow revisions on most assignments so there is no reason to fail, plus there are a couple of opportunities for extra credit. 2 tests, 1 speech, 4 discussions, and you will have to respond to two classmates.

As long as you try you will pass the class. There were 2 tests and a couple of discussion assignments and 2 speeches. The final speech is the one you worked on throughout the entire course. She gives really good feedback and she really did help me improve my speech abilities. She wasn't rude at all and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Professor Pachter is helpful and cares about student success, though grading can be quite tough. The workload is manageable, and Unstuck study proved very useful for test prep. Overall, a rewarding class if you engage with the material.

She is the best prof, I wish I could take that class again. She holds your hand through EVERYTHING, especially speeches; she makes you feel very confident and prepared. She doesn't give out free 100s, but she isn't a harsh grader. Few extra credit opportunities. Lots of group work but all very easy and just a very fun class overall. She's amazing.

You won't get a better professor for your first semester of college.

I couldn't have asked for a better speech prof. Very caring and sweet just make sure you pay attention to lectures. 2 speeches but we only ended up doing 1:) For someone who haas very bad anxiety it took a lot to mentally prepare for a speech but she was very understanding. Every thing is done online, 9 quizzes and 2 tests. 17 lessons.

Such an amazing professor ! I can literally write an essay on how amazing she is. She works with you wholeheartedly and she works very hard for her students. I absolutely advise everyone to taker her she is so worth it and is very caring. She is so supportive and is willing to give you the best feedback on assignments so you can pass. Loveddd her!!

I just have to say that I don't used to rate professor but she is just AMAZING, TAKE HER, you won't regret, I took online classes and I'm feeling like I know her in person, wish all my professors would be like her.

Professor Pachter is Amazing!! She keeps the class engaged with her humor, and her lectures are easy to follow. I highly recommend her express class. The tests are fair, and we only had one project, and received good feedback. I'd definitely take her class again!
