Marco is the single nicest guy you would want to meet. More emphasis on learning through trying than through reading. Very interactive, lot of fun stuff to do, put in the effort and you will do well.

Marco is a great teacher who really relates well to his students, and is more than helpfull when it comes to taking an interest in their developement as both students and people. He is great and I would definately encourage eveyone to take his classes.

Relatively easy, he pushes you to talk everyday, quickly gets you at ease with your class so giving speeches is easier. The tests in that class are a joke but I suppose have to be given. If you skim the reading you'll easily pass the test.

The only class that I've never ditched in my college career. Interesting, fun, and I have a ton new knowledge of film. Great for a non-film major.

Maroc Benassi makes speech 100 into an enjoyable class instead of a high stress class. By the second week you know the name of all the other students in the class so that its much easier to give speeches in front of them. Highly recommended.

He is very supportive and understanding and everyone needs to experience his speech class. He cares deeply about the relationships in the class and getting past fears of speech, he's also really fun and humorous.

Like everyone else has said before me one of the best teachers I've had at COD, his experintial style speach class was so freaking sweet. 8 weeks and a trip to Wisconsin that I found pretty cool as hell which included paintballing for credits HAHA, whatever they pay him they should double that shhhhh cause teachers like this are one/million.

Marco is an amazing teacher. I took him for my Intro to Speech class and it was only 8 weeks long. There was no textbook. We learned the true fundamentals of speaking and then gave speeches. He truly has a love for this topic and it shows. He helps out a lot and if you folow his teaching, its an easy A. I strongly recomend taking any of his classes

I went backpacking with Marco's class in Utah this past spring. What an eye-opening experience! I've never camped before & I'm glad that I could break precept ions of me that I was too girly to do this. Marco is very honest & he expects you to do the same. Be responsible for your course work. He is a professor who truly wants his students to grow. Not everyone could do this job & we're lucky to have Marco here in this role.

Before taking this class I hated the idea of taking a speech class. I ended up loving the class and he made it very fun and I enjoyed going. Professor Benassi is the only way to take speech. He makes the speeches stress free,and truly just wants you to feel comfortable communicating. Marco Benassi's speech class is probably the best way to take speech, in my opinion. Public speaking is there of course, but it feels more natural and he's less about perfection than coming off as real. He stresses the communication part of the course. Real laid back guy whose classes are a joy to attend. Take his class in person, not online.

Marco's Movie Magic Class was by far my favorite class because it was a field study class where we would go to the movies and watch current movies. Although he did give some homework movies that were boring, he gave options on which one we wanted to watch. Should take this class with him he is a very down to earth person. No Textbook

This Interpersonal Communications class was by far my favorite class I have ever taken in my life. Like come on who doesn't want to spend a week in Hawaii for class. I loved the inspirational talks that Marco would give us every night. This was also a great bonding moment with peers your age. When we were there we actually had to work for our grade

Mr. Benassi is truly a down to earth kind of teacher. He is very easy to talk to and to get in touch with. He does not make the class and giving speeches in general uncomfortable. I took his 8wk online class and it was amazing. You only have to show up 4 times for about 3hs. There was 10 quizzes, 3 speeches, 8 journals & 5 discussion board questions. He calms the class down through his funniness and makes it easier to give a speech. He writes in detail how you can keep improving. There is a group project so prepare for that.

I took his 8 week speech class which included going on a field trip to Wisconsin. The trip isn't bad, its super fun. My friend told me to take his class and it ended up being my favorite at COD. He really understands if you have a fear of speech and works with you. The class is small as well so it makes it easier. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Marco, is an amazing teacher. I took his 12 wk film class, and it was so FUN! The class only meets once a week so you have to show up but you will go to a movie theater every other week instead of meeting in class. I learned a lot in his class but it never felt like "traditional learning". Be prepared to do a lot of group work though.

Marco is an amazing prof! I had him for speech 1100-FS002, which is a super fun class! We only met 6 times, one weekend we had a trip as a class for a field study. In general he's an easy grader, and he understands that not everyone is comfortable with speeches, but he makes it easy. He has a lot of great critiques and is very kind!

Bro, like for real, he is the one!! I took my Speech class with him, and dude, it's soooo chill and fun!! You still have to do schoolwork for his class, obviously. But it's going to be fine!! Plus, our class was in the TEC building, which is so quiet and calming!

Best speech teacher

The course work is really easy. In the course you'll learn the different aspects of film such as angles, lighting and audio scores. You will be required to watch films outside of class which are commonly found on streaming services. Film editing software needed on your phone or laptop, free software works fine. Overall very fun class!

Mr. Benassi is literally the BEST professor out there! He is caring, fun and inspirational. His Speech 1100 class is more philosophical, it is not your average Speech class. He gives projects to do with classmates to make everyone comfortable with each other, most likely you will end up making a couple friends in that class. This class will fly by!

By far easiest class I took all semester. Lots of homework, but its all opinion based and based on the movies you watch. Keeps class interesting when you aren't at the movies. You have to try to fail this class.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Benassi was such an inspirational professor. If you're going to take this class, you still have to put in effort. Yes you watch a lot movies in class and at theaters but you also do a TON of group projects. Every movie you watch you'll have to write a short essay about your thoughts on the film. Nonetheless the class was incredible.

He is the best professor I have ever seen in my life.

Just show up and participate and youll get an A. He doesnt make it hard at all and he is a really nice person. I took his 8 week class and it was really nice to just get it over with. Class went by fast

Mr Benassi is one of those rare teachers that will make you absolutely love speech class! Class is engaging, he makes you come out of your shell without you even realizing. This class is more than just speech, he teaches you how to communicate and connect with people. I think Mr. Benassi is a true gem of COD. If you get a chance, TAKE HIS CLASS!

marco was really nice & had an orientation the first day of class since it was online & we got to meet each other as well as the other classmates. that was really clutch! he has easy quizzes if u read the textbook (he gives some out). discussion boards & journals are easy. speeches are easy too, he gives good feedback!! loved him!

I took this class over the summer and it was really easy. He provides the right amount of information and nothing is confusing. If you ever have a question, don't be afraid to ask. There is one group speech and about 4-5 individual speeches, super fun and easy. Highly recommend taking him, he's a great professor!

Hands down the most entertaining teacher i've ever had. Non boring class. I am the type to fall asleep constantly and this guy made my life easier. Highly highly recommend him for a speech class.

Mr. Benassi was one of my favorite teachers ever at college. He makes the class fun and teaches in a an excellent way that allows you to learn and have fun at the same time. Overall, I would surely take any class with him again and whoever has the chance should choose him!

I had Professor Benassi in the Summer of 2020 for Speech 1100 and he was an amazing teacher. I highly recommend taking him for any class, if you have questions he will definitely respond ASAP. He is very caring and wants you to be involved and successful. Nothing he does isn't beneficial! I would definitely take him again if I could!

I had Marco for an 8 week online speech class and it could not have worked out better. He was very interactive, and I was never pressured or nervous to share my thoughts or present. One of the few teachers that has started online learning near flawlessly.

Professor Benassi is seriously the best professor I've ever had. He cares so much about his students, constantly telling us "I'm on your side". He's very encouraging, and gives great feedback. Super easy as long as you turn everything in on time. I highly recommend taking the online course if you can.

MUST TAKE CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!

You'll watch a lot of films and have to write a paper in response to each film. He gives clear guidelines to what he wants in the response so as long as you actually watch the film and pay attention you'll do good. There was also a group project every class, so make sure you attend.

I like Professor Benassi enough to take him again for Intercultural Communication (Speech 2200). Even though he teaches asynchronous classes he still makes you do a group project, which is slightly annoying. But he's very down to earth and willing to work with you. He grades things early if you're a fast worker, and very fair. Take him for sure.

Benassi is one of the best professors I've ever had. You can really tell that he cares so much about all of his students, teaching, and wants to see you succeed.

I loved Benassi, he was a fantastic professor who is very understanding. I would 100% take him again and I highly recommend him! I was so nervous for speech class because I am a quiet but with him as my professor, I really enjoyed every assignment.

I absolutely loved Benassi. He is so passionate about film and loves to make everyone laugh. Assignments were super fun and were in groups so he got all the students to bond with each-other. This class felt like a hangout with fun assignments while also learning.

Prof Benassi is the BEST professor I have ever had! He truly cares about his students and the material he is teaching. I took him for speech 1100 and I'm currently in his speech 2200 class. He will give you extentions and accept late work. I can not say enough good things about this prof!!!!! Only down side is there are group projects.

I loved this professor. If you see his name for ANY class, then PLEASE TAKE HIM! He honestly made this class so relaxing and easy. Very easy grader and easy A. He works with whatever personal situations you have going on and does his best to get you an A. Seriously, TAKE HIM!
