extremely boring class... his "jokes" are not amusing and he tends to call students out and embarass them for little reason.
This teacher is the pits. If God created personal hells, sitting in this class forever would be mine!! Avoid at all costs!
LOL, that is all i can say. the class is easy and fun, his humor makes the boring sections of the class more exciting. He is a good communicator and is passionate about what he is teaching.
BORING, BORING, BORING, oh yeah did I mention easy? His humor needs help and he is a little strict during the class.
Sometimes I feel bad for him. He thinks he's funny and tries his hardest to crack jokes but it never works. Very boring...but since this class is required...good luck.
Pass or fail class...brilliant professor, a little over my head, boring lectures but then again it takes a special kind of person to love this type of class!! I would rather take Dr. Ross who has humor (or tries) and is not monotone compared to Dr. Davy! def take Ross over Davy!
tries too hard to be witty... good class if you want to read books during it.
i love this guy, he cracks me up, i know his jokes are good yet but its his first semester so give him a break.hes gettin better as the days go by
one good thing about this class... you can catch up on nap time
Anybody complaining about this class needs to hang up the phone, stop talking on AIM and pay attention to the jems of wisdom flowing out of this guy. He has the answers for how to defend Creation and your faith to someone who has been warped by our country's gov't schools. Get over yourselves and stop acting like immature losers.

He tries so hard - ya gotta give him credit for that ; )
It's a boring class. Professor Ross is better than DeWitt tho. Honestly, CRST290 is a very easy class.
if you hate corny jokes dont take this course. at least he has some humor and i enjoyed his passion of paleontology...thats about it. dont miss any quizzes unless u can score well on the tests or u will fail.
boring class. Not the professor's fault though he did his best but its a required pass/fail class on a boring topic, so what else should I say? The one good thing is that I found it a great time to read/do homework. It's his first semester teaching, so he does deserve a break there. His jokes are corny, but at least they give the class variety.
Definitely a simple class since it's pass or fail. Ross is not exciting, but most scientists are not anyway, so I think he does his best to keep it interesting with corny jokes. He is "cutting-edge", one of only a few ID proponent paleontologists in the world, so if you care about Creation vs. Evolution, he's cool to learn from.
This is a really easy class even if you put forth the smallest amount of effort. Ross is great. He puts effort and time into his lessons and really tries to connect with the students. Take him!! You won't regret it. Oh yeah, don't miss to much class the quizzes are unannounced! :)
Awesome
He's really quite interesting if you pay attention. He knows all sorts of cool stuff. He's so cute, because he tells all these corny jokes and you can't help but laugh. This class is sooo easy. I would definately recommend him.
He made the Creation subject so boring when in fact with other teachers it is very interesting. And he tries too hard to bring his ratemyprofessor grade up with his corny jokes, etc.
Ross is pretty good as far as knowing his stuff. He tells lots of corny jokes. he is VERY strict about talking and leaving class. It makes things awkward sometimes. I wasn't a huge fan...
Yes, his jokes are corny. Now, the flip side is that he is one of the most prepared and knowledgeable teachers you'll ever meet. His tests aren't super hard, the key is to do the reading, they really help you understand his lectures. It's in interesting class if you're into apologetics and some of the creation/evolution stuff you learn is amazing.
He is an amazing teacher and it one of the most prepared professor I have seen so far. He does tell funny jokes sometimes but he makes the class feel more like family. Anyway, the test might be very hard if you don't study but other than that it is easy. Don't expect easy A but work for it.
He is not a people-person, and he seems to not like students at all. He should do seminars about the stuff he knows (he does have a thorough knowledge about it), but he should NOT teach. He makes no effort to have any relationships with students, and he doesn't care about them or their education whatsoever.
Ross is very knowledgeable about the subject, but that doesn't make it any more interesting. His passion is calling out people who talk, look at their cell phones, try to leave, etc. He tells the most obnoxiously corny jokes. Overally, he's very smart but annoying.
He makes sure you know the material, but the CD-ROM that comes with the book is very helpful.
He's nice most of the time. Corny jokes tho. Just smile with him..hey never hurts to do so!!! Teaches Earth Science like its for grad student...however challenging.
He is very boring! No laptops, No cell phones, No talking, No leaving early, No coming in late!!! AGGHH!! frustrating to say the least. takes him like a month to put up grades to.
Prof Ross is very knowledgeable about the subject of creation/evolution. He does not tolerate the use of laptops, etc in class. He seems to take a long time to post grades on Blackboard (about 7-10 days for a scantron exam). All quizzes are on Blackboard and you must attend class to take the quiz.
Professor Ross is one of my favorite professors. He is challenging, but I have never learned science so well. He has control over his class and is very organized, but he does try to make the atmosphere more fun with his jokes. If you want to learn, then I would highly recommend taking his class.
He teaches undergrate like he's teaching graduate student.
horrible! ok for crst, but for phisci= horrible. take bio 101 and bio 102, don't waste your time in this class. acts like this is the only class people take. also very uninteresting and moody
He is an okay prof, he tries to make the class interesting and explains things well. He says "Nevertheless" and "Whatnot" more than anyone I've ever met in my life and it gets really annoying. He tries to make the class fun, so overall not a bad prof.
Ross, tries to make CRST a fun class even if you have no interest whatsoever in the class. He gives you 7 skips and you only have 4 tests. Not a bad class.
Prof Ross for a 210 intro class was harder than any of my 400 level classes. He thinks his class is YOUR only class. He thinks everyone in his class is going into geology. He expects you to draw lots of diagrams, no test reviews, no helpfulness, lame jokes and unfriendly in my opinion. He's also very anti-gun and pro-environmentalism. He is boring.
Dr Ross is an awesome professor who really cares about his students. Yes, his tests can be difficult, but you'll be fine if you come to class and study. He's a really nerdy guy (which he's well aware) and loves to crack jokes in class and keep things interesting. I'm not a science major, but he's still one of my favorite profs at LU
Dr Ross is an awesome professor with a great personality who likes to keep the class interesting. There are 4 tests in this class which aren't difficult as long as you study a little. I highly recommend him for any class
Though i think most science classes are challenging, this one was off the charts! Ross knows his stuff, but he is viscous when it comes to tests and quizzes. You CANNOT slack off in this class or you will fail quickly! He is fun, and he is a nerd which makes him even more hilarious. Hard class, smart man. youtube Fridays rock!
He's a very serious tester; Ross means business in a 200-level class. He's very funny and engaging in lecture, but you really have to memorize stuff well if you expect to do well on his quizzes and tests. Love him as a person, and if you love nerds, you'll adore him. :)
Dr. Ross is outstanding. He makes the subject entertaining without irrelevant tangents. You can tell he enjoys teaching and it makes learning from him more pleasant. You do have to attend class and study for his tests, but this is college and that's not an unreasonable expectation. I highly recommend him. :)
I love Dr. Ross. I've talked to students who've taken Creation Studies from other professors, who shall remain nameless, and they envy me. Dr. Ross is incredibly knowledgeable and communicates the subject matter clearly. I look forward to going to his class. I can't say that about a lot of my classes. Take Creation Studies with him.
He's a cutie. He tries to make his students laugh a lot. He's slightly addicted to YouTube and Google Earth, but you can't help but love the guy. He's a great teacher. I adore him.
Speaking strictly as a Creation Studies student of his, I think he's great. I understand he's not as lovable in other subjects though. Still, he's adorkable.
Cool teacher, not a cool class. Some of the material is kind of interesting but it is so broad. I got A's in all of my classes except this one. There's no extra credit which would really help. It's just really hard to get an A. I really like Dr. Ross as a teacher though. Nerdy sense of humor. makes for some good stories.
He is a very nice, corny, science teacher. His notes are hard to understand sometimes and you really have to pay attention in class. His test are very hard!! but put in the effort and do good on the quizzes and you will be fine.
Dr. Ross has really bad tests, but he's funny and all in all I would recommend him.
Dr. Ross is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His Earth Science class was really hard and required a LOT of studying, but it was fun. Dr. Ross is always willing to help explain things, and he is one of the nicest, nerdiest guys I have ever met. I wish I could take another class with him.
Intelligent guy. Difficult but interesting class. I would definitely recommend this professor. He really earns your respect
Dr. Ross keeps the class interesting with his quirky sense of humor and he really knows what he is talking about. The tests are extremely difficult. I would read the book completely and still not get an A... but if you have to take Creation Studies, which you do, I would recommend him highly.
Dr. Ross is a great professor. He has a great sense of humor and is really passionate about what he teaches. However, his exams are extremely difficult. You can't be lazy; you HAVE TO study.
Dr. Ross is awesome but CRST sucks.
Dr. Ross is one of the best professors Liberty has to offer. He will work you hard but you will learn well, and classes are always enjoyable. His knowledge of and passion for his subject is inspiring.
This class was 1 of the hardest courses I took as far as tests go. You really have to study to pass the tests-but the professor is really smart and great-one of my favorites at LU. He gave enough info to really explain and help you understand what was going on in the world. He also tied it into current new items. Hard, but worth it.
PHSC 210 was THE HARDEST CLASS I've ever taken at LU. The tests were the killers. The quizzes were doable- if you studied ALOT. But it can be done. The tests are terrible. Although I hated the class- like really hated it cause my grade suffered- I really did learn alot. I can tell you everything about weather and stuff. Haha. I do not reccomend.
I suffered through the exams in his PHSC 210, but still chose to take this class with Dr. Ross because I enjoy him so much as a professor. He is so sweet and adorable, even though his tests are very difficult. His knowledge is evident though, & that's how a Christian science professor should be.
I just do not think there is enough help with all of the math involved with this class. Only a plug and chug templete in back of book to help and it is not helpful at all! Very tough and time consuming class, but fun and I did learn alot.
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Ross. He's hilarious, his lectures are engaging, and he's a complete nerd. I see quite a few people saying the tests for CRST290 are difficult, but I didn't find that to be the case. Just study the book, take lots of notes, and you're set. PLEASE TAKE A CLASS WITH DR. ROSS. You won't regret it.
Dr. Ross is a passionate and articulate professor, whose desire to teach is evident. He has very clear expectations, and high standards, however he is more than willing to help anyone who is willing to learn. He gives interesting lectures, sprinkled with lots of cheesy/nerdy humor. His tests require effort, but then again, it is college after all.
Dr. Ross, while difficult, is a great professor to have. He is fair, but expects you to put in the work. His lectures are highly amusing, very clear and well laid out. He is also quite personable and willing to spend extra time explaining concepts and answering questions. Definitely a prof to take if you have the chance.
Dr. Ross is extremely intelligent, and is very good at communicating complicated concepts in a simple way. You'll need to put forth some effort, but if you ask for help, Dr. Ross won't let you down. One of my favorite professors.
Dr. Ross is a good and communicative professor, but his ENVR 215 class is based on a few quizzes and five exams. If you miss any of them or score poorly, you can't get an A in his class.
Interesting enough to avoid sleeping in class. Grades are based solely on tests.
This class was horrible the teacher was never in during his office hours that he would put on the door and when you would make an appointment to go over a test he would have the wrong test and he would say he would get back to you but never will he takes forever to grade and doesn't go over any of the quizzes before the major test
Dr. Ross is extremely intelligent, and his love for and fascination with the subjects he teaches is totally obvious. His class was difficult (so difficult that I had to withdraw at the last minute) but it was always one of the highlights of my week. Ross can be really fun, but can also get down to business really effectively. Take him!
Take CRST with someone else!
He knows how to keep your attention and makes everything fun. Of course, there is quite an amount of reading need to be done out of class, but that's with every class. Read over your notes, the tests are somewhat difficult. I recommend him all the way, he knows what he's talking about, actually I'm pretty sure there's no other prof. for CRST 290
Very smart, witty, and interesting guy. His tests are difficult and require a lot of study time. Even quizzes deserve a lot of preparation. I appreciated his depth and diversity of knowledge and am glad I took his class despite it being difficult and time consuming.
Dr. Ross while very intelligent, could not hold my attention during class. I did not find the course material interesting so it was extremely hard to pay attention as well as study for tests. The only way you can get points in this class is through the tests, which is a little ridiculous for a 2 CREDIT CLASS.
This class is one of the worst I have ever taken. Ross makes the class way more difficult than it needs to be. Take it online. This class is a gen ed and consumed way too much of my time when I could have been studying for important classes. Its only worth 2 credits.
Dr. Ross is worth taking! He is very well trained and an excellent communicator. The class is fast paced but Dr. Ross does take a lot of live questions from student. There are 4 multiple choice tests. I took good notes in class and studied for about an hour for the tests. Got an A
Dr. Ross is hilarious! He is an excellent teacher. I thought it was a really easy class, but I am a science nerd, so that helps. Creation studies is a great class to take just for the information provided. I always looked forward to going to class. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Tests were way more difficult than they should have been.
Dr. Ross is a great professor. He cares for his students and is passionate about what he teaches! He does a great job at making lectures interesting. His class is just based on 4 tests, so make sure you do well on those!! The tests aren't terrible if you actually study for them. The questions are very detail-oriented!
Dr. Ross is a very nice man. I also would suggest not going into this class thinking that it will be an easy one. Even after studying the information, several times I might add, AND reading the material. I still did not do well. Tests are far more difficult than they should be. This class should not be required. More difficult than it should be.
At the beginning of the semester, he's very welcoming and wastes no time making an appearance as a fun professor. But, as the semester progressed, the professor would go over the allotted time for the class. This resulted in more reading than lecture note-taking. Grades are primarily off quizzes and tests. Find a different professor if you can.
Great guy and professor. Class really challenged me to learn more because quizzes and tests were very difficult
Only way to earn points is through tests and quizzes. The quizzes are VERY difficult.
Absolutely worst teacher I have ever had! I never received a single reply to any email I sent him. Multiple times has forgotten to do his job and leaves you hanging. He gives no instruction on what to do but expects the textbook to be memorized. During our final exam window and he forgot again to post the test and then ignored all student's emails.
Very hard, gives absolutely no feedback, goes on long rants in class which leads to you not getting proper notes and you are left reading the textbook guessing what is important, never returns emails
Dr Ross's lectures were fantastic. He's so knowledgable and his class was the highlight of my semester. His quizzes were tough but fine as long as you studied the material (they weren't multiple choice), however, the tests (multiple choice) were awful IMO, lots of trick questions and I felt my grade wasn't an accurate rep of how much I studied.
Is very basic in giving notes but writes tests to be very confusing with always having two correct answers and the true "correct" answer is his personal preference even if it disagrees with the textbook.
Definitely harder than a typical gen-ed, but as long as you study the notebook, you should do fine! Just make sure to study a little more than you would for a normal gen-ed. I found his lectures pretty engaging, although there were somethings which I wished had a more of a baseline knowledge of first. Overall, a fun class!
I took the 8 week course for PHSC 210. But, since the class grade is ONLY based off of 2 exams and a ton of quizzes it is basically impossible to catch up on getting a better grade. He was a nice guy but was unreasonable when it came to working with students lives outside of class. I recommend taking the course with another professor.
Professor Ross was great at lecturing but its nearly impossible to do good in the class. The quizzes are open book & open note but SO hard. Also you have 12 quizzes & 2 exams. That is it. If you start of bad its bad the whole class. He has a different company which clearly takes up all his time. Never replys to emails. Find a different prof.
Another professor teaching a general education course on a power trip. Very strict, seems to be self conscious about the fact many students wish they didn't have to take the class; and takes it out on the class. Makes lectures uncomfortable.
Exams did not align with lectures or assigned readings.
