Dr. May is really funny and strange. She makes history interesting, I liked her class. She didn't give many assignments, but they were fairly hard. Her quizzes are easy if you read the book and take good notes.

Dr. May has a great personality, however she is often hard to reach and is a little unreliable at times. Great for laid back people....a little nerve wrecking for uptight people!

She is a **** liberal, conservatives in class beware. She loves to argue politics, and your grade will not suffer for being conservative and argumentive. Some times though one gets tired of arguing.

Wow, watch out, cause she messed up my grade and she took all summer long to correct it! Other than that...very easy. Likes to debate with students and that's about it. Don't bother buying the books cause you will never have to read them. We didn't!

Dr. May is very hard to get a hold of and very unclear in what she is ask you to write. She will fight you on everything you say and be nit-picky when reading papers. I will never take her again.

She never teaches the material prescribed in the syllabus. In one semster, we didn't even make it through the entire amount of reading and work because she was to busy bashing republicans. I learned nothing.

DR. May cannot teach. She talks about nothing that is in the text book or about the course. She just sits there and talks about how much she hates republicians (thats if we have class). She cancelled class at least 10 times during the semister

Dr. May is scattered and disorganized. She becomes frustrated when students push her for clarification and she cancels TOO MANY CLASSES! If you're a serious student steer clear because you'll waste your money.

AWESOME PROFESSOR and AWESOME lady. Really cool personality, great in class debates. DON'T listen to all those ****ing sissys who complain about her. Who doesnt like to have class canceled? If you know how to write well, and are not a complete moron, there is no way you should not get an A!

Class was very easy. Never had a test, and there was no books. Just start talking politics and class will be over before she is done talking. Just don't listen to her views because they will ****you off.

she is really easy and nice..all we did was discuss current events-at the time the election-if you liked george bush you would not have liked the class but i didnt so it was great. only had one paper and a final and didnt read anything in the book-would recommend her-shes pretty funny

Amen to every positive comment about this teacher. One comes away from her class knowing SO much more than at the start! Her class is so interesting because there are class discussions, presentations [show&tell], videos. One never gets bored. Take her class! Most important - she welcomes EVERYONE'S opinion.

There are never any real tests and there is no need to do the readings or take notes. The Mid-Term and Final are your views on the to#ic. As long as you talk and back u# your ideas you will get an A.

never know what mood she will come in to class with. Its three weeks to go until the end and I have no idea what kind of grade I will get. I wrote 3 papers and got none back. she cancels class all the time but never tell you so you don't find out until you get to the door. Big waste of time, learn nothing from her.

more of a debate class than anything else. its not hard at all as long as you pay attention in class and stay with the class discussions. she doesn't mind late papers or if you're late for class. extremely liberal. extremely awesome.

As an adult student, I can say that Dr. May is one of the best teachers I encountered at WCSU. She IS liberal and will tell you so, but she also loves it when you can disagree with her and back up what you say. Warning: Don't try to BS her--she can spot that stuff in her sleep. If you do the work and THINK, you will learn an enormous amount.

she is the worst history teacher ever. she does not even teach the class history, she justs bashes the USA. i think she should go live in Afghanistan. the thing i dislike about her most is how she belittles and makes fun of people who do not agree with her outrageous views in front of the whole class. never take a class with her.

After spending some time observing her in class and speaking with her after class, I have gained a great deal of respect for her dedication and skill as a teacher. She is liberal in her outlook, but she is open for debate and welcomes it. Just know your facts and stick to your beliefs and she will respect you all the more.

It's an ok class. No tests or exams so far, just pick 1 question and write an essay for midterm. Got a B and didnt put much effort. Dont bother buying the book. Just don't challenge her becauses shes always right, unless you got sh*t to back yourself up, she will make you look stupid. By the way, she hates Bush! Always cancels class!!

Probably one of the best professors I've ever had. She actually wants students to interact with her and be interested in her class. She doesn't just stick to typical, boring history topics. She cares about her students and tries to encompass choices in her assignments for all different kinds of learners (for essays and things like that). FANTASTIC

Very good teacher, understands we all have personal lives and kept the work load to mainly reading.Some were offended by her intense teaching style but as she explained it was only to get our minds working and to interact with our own opinions.It's easy to do well but also hard because there is a lot of assignments to boost your grade.

Prof May is hands down the best professor in the distory dept. She is very liberal but as long as you don't have a big problem with that she will become your favorite professor. She is not tough but you can't be an idiot, just do the little bit of reading and a couple short papers and you will be fine. Take Take Take

Doesn't know how to teach. All she does is rant about the economy and politics. Spends less than 10 minutes per class actually talking about the material before she gets sidetracked. And if you have a moderate/conservative approach to politics, be prepared to be made into the evil minority hating republican during class.

This professor is really nice, and she is lenient on handing work in, she is easy just read and participate in class, no tests just two essays, choose one question to answer for both essays, interesting class, she really knows her history,she'll disagree with you but not in a derogative or mean way, very approachable and ready to help

Dr. May is very opinionated but she makes class fun and interesting. Read the textbook...just one chapter per night and you'll ace the few quizzes. extra credit is always available. there are only 2 tests. a midterm and a final. very few papers.

She is such a great professor. She really knows what she is talking about. There were a few essays, but they were very essay. No quizzes or tests at all. It is a fun class, and is so worth taking. You can miss a few classes and you will be fine, but don't make a habit out of it.

It was great taking 490 with Dr. May. She was great at offering suggestions and providing encouragement. She also set deadlines that were easily attainable, and before you knew it, your senior thesis was done.

I absolutely hate history and writing and I am telling you, take this class if you need credit. Prof May was ridiculously nice and understanding and there are no such thing as deadlines/due dates. As long as you do the work by the end of class, A. Decent amount of reading, not too much writing. Easiest history credit out there though for sure.

I don't know why everyone is raving about Dr. May. I took her for the new 490, and I hated this class. It was all about war, which I dont have an interest in. She always went off on tangents, so even if you did the reading, the class always seemed to talk aout politics.DO NOT TAKE especially if you have right side politic views.

One of the best teachers I have ever had! I had no interest in history till her class. She's funny and keeps you interested. She wants everyone to pass so is willing to help with extra help and credit. So nice and is very clear. Just take notes and pay attention and you will pass.

Had her for my American History, she is an awesome history teacher, she made history interesting and getting an entire lecture room involved. She does go off topic sometimes, especially debating politics or current events which can take up an entire class. Be quick with your note taking, she talks fast and flips through powerpoints quickly

I had her for Americas war in Vietnam online, excellent class! Just do the discussions monday-thursday (1 per day) and you will do very well. There are also 2 papers which are very interesting to do. She was always good with her email response time and seemed very nice. I suggest this class to anyone!

Great teacher. Personally, I don't like history, but she made it very simpke to learn. She talks fast during lectures and there is a lot of reading to do. Other than that, she is very funny and simple. She made history enjoyable. She helps prepare for tests and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities.

great professor, i love her. only problem is that her tests are IMPOSSIBLE. gives you a list of 100 ID's and tells you that only 5 will be used on the test...which are 25% of your grade, each. way too hard for a 100 level class.

Dr. May is an awesome history professor. She does an amazing job of tying past history to current events, to keep students engaged and thinking. She did a great job of keeping everybody involved - asking questions where it seemed some students might not get key points, and offering additional resources for those looking to dig deeper.

The class was difficult, but a 400 level class should be. Dr. May is extremely knowledgeable and fair. I was personally overwhelmed with the reading, but this is normal for history majors.

She is GREAT. She's extremely liberal (& proud)! She loves a good political debate. Highly recommend her classes. Her assignments are simple and she is easily accessible outside of class. She is always willing to help you out with your assignments. She's understanding that students do have lives. You WILL NOT regret taking any of her classes.

Professor May was a great professor, super easy elective history class. Assignments took 30 minutes max (that's with reading the text) and are graded relatively lightly. She gives a whole week for each assignment which is plenty of time since they are so easy. I did not NEED the textbook but it still helped answer some of the HW questions.

Professor May is really cool, this class was perfect to take as an elective while you're taking other difficult classes in your major. No tests, just a weekly discussion post that if you read most of the chapter that she assigns (from a free online book) and write a lengthy response, you'll get an easy A every time.
