Excellent teacher. Great communication. You will actually learn instead of just getting a letter grade.
WORST TEACHER EVER! She would be a better teacher if she taught the blind. She even yells at you when you don't understand what she DOESn'T teach! Hw is due the day you learn about the material & graded on correctness. The class SUCKS!
Do what your told, and you will do fine, if not you will do poorly, read before coming to class as well do the homework, easy 5pts if she collects it, gave extra credit if u participated in class
The class is hard, no matter how you look at it. Read the stuff before coming to class and make sure to do the homework and you should be ok. She goes kinda fast and some of the stuff she says over and over gets annoying but she isn't too bad.
SHE'S A HORRIBLE TEACHER! She goes way too fast for this type of course. Doesn't give you enough time to copy notes and yells at you when you ask a question. I swear. So's extremely boring and looks like a rat also. Don't take her. Save yourself!
Worst class I have taken at UCF. Prof. is very unclear, and never finishes covering all the material necessary for the test. When ask for help, told wasting her time. Prof. has very little patience and expects you to know, understand, and be able to recall info on the spot.
Honestly, I have never had such a horrible professor EVER. I am not kidding you, she does NOT teach; instead, she spends more than half the class period yelling at us. Dont bother asking questions or asking her to explain, better yet teach, you anything.. cause youll just get yelled at
I cant believe that this teacher feels that notes being available online to print out is babying us. We dont get a review for the CUMULATIVE final and she spends the majority of the class reminding us that we are in college and she shouldnt repeat herself even though we dont understand the material.
WOW! What a lady. She will literally stand in front of the class for an hour and scream at the top of her lungs. No Joke. Dont take this course unless you already know everything there is to know about accounting, because she refuses to teach you. She deserves every bad comment on this site!
WORST TEACHER EVER! Does not teach, yet expects you to be able to take pop quizzes on material that she hasnt even gone over yet. She gets paid to yell, cause she definitely hasnt taught me one thing. Basically an independant study class
Let me be the first to say:THIS IS COLLEGE! All the people complaining about this teacher are lazy and want things handed to them on a plate! I would know because most of them were in my class. Great teacher! She knows her stuff and doesnt deal with bull. Do the readings and come prepared, thats it!
All of the morons on this site have no idea what they are talking about. Prof Hampton is the best teacher i'VE had so far at UCF. Goes over material over and over again until you get it. Also, you must come to class prepared by reading and doing homework. If you are lazy like 1/2 of UCF, stay away.
Prof. Hampton is HORRIBLE, what kind of teacher stands up at the end of class and tells you not to call, e-mail, or show up at her office anytime before the final!!! Teaches her favorites and makes sure they understand the material, but does not due what is best for the ENTIRE class. Wastes time!!
Her method of teaching is by asking you questions based on your readings, NOT explaining it. I will say that I'm not a lazy student, and I still absolutely HATED this class and the professor even more
Im going on a Limb here, she sucks!
Her tests aren't that hard. She collects homework randomly and gives pop quizzes which will lower your grade. Make sure you read the book because when she teaches she definately does yell alot.
Go to Class,Read what your told, and you will do fine, this is not High School People, this is College, and professors are not going to hand feed you the information, and most college courses are not suppose to be real easy,if that were the case then too many people that dont deserve degrees wd get them
Changes her mind about how she teaches. Did notes for about 2 weeks then stopped. Spends more time yelling at the class then teaching. Quizes lower your grade, homework is long and hard. Tests are pretty hard but question come from the book study guide. Avoid if possible.
The class is easy if you study hard, if you do the homework, if you pay attention & participate in class, & if you ask her for lots of help. She yells the entire class period - you must come prepared. She does not lecture but asks questions to teach the class.

This is teacher is HORRIBLE. She does NOT help you or teach you anything about accounting! She would spend more than half the class yelling about what we should have taught ourselves--- while in the mean time class time is ticking and she throws her notes at you-- expecting you to know what it means.
Worst teacher ever. Complains the whole class about how no one read. She asks questions and if no one answers she sits there til you do. Do not take this class!!!
if you read before class and dont piss her off the class is not bad. you have a project that can boost your grade a lot becasue she will check it as many times as you want before you turn it in.
very good teacher. ALways wanting to help you that is if you want the extra help. GO to her office and ask for help. Need to read and be willing to do the practice problems if you work it is easy to get an A or B! Very interesting class.
very hard class, she is not an easy teacher
Yells all the time. VERY unhelpful, makes students feel very stupid and uncomfortable. Tests are impossible and no review is given before test. voice very very annoying and hard to listen to. BAD HORRIBLE TEACHER>>>>BEWARE!!!!!
She is one of the most motivating teachers in the accounting department. So what if she has a loud voice. It's better than sitting there bored out of your mind with a monotone teacher. This is college and Accounting isn't not an easy major. Just do your homework and review everything. If you think this class is hard, wait until upper level course
the best anyone can say is: Obnoxious beyond belief; could care less about any student; rude; no one knows why UCf would let her be a teacher; distant; aloof; a fool; one of the most pathetic examples of a UCF teacher; really sad when she destroys without caring one's desire to be an accuontant; no help, no caring, no desire to teach the subjectSAD
Accounting is NOT easy. Most people entering this major have no understanding of accounting procedures. If you are not dedicated to learning the material, don't want to put forth the effort, and want an easy class, DON'T take this class. If you want to learn and don't mind WORKING AT IT, then take this class. Don't blame her if you're lazy.
All you have to do to get a decent grade in the class is read the chapters once through and go to class, and if thats to hard for you then you're just lazy. Even though she seems like she's yelling she is just trying to make sure you understand it. Loud voice but keeps you awake and interested.
Does not go over homework, yells alot
READ the chapters and do the homework! If you need help, go to her office.
Have to be up on your feet in class! Read before class. She expects everyone to know the chapter and thus comes to class with a pseudo "Q&A" lecture type of class. Tests are pretty good. For the most part she isn't out to get you. As long as you know what you're doing you'll be OK.
She is a good person but honestly I didn't like the way she teaches. She lectures the whole class period and she makes her class boring. She doesn't practice any problems or explains them, and for midterms she doesn't review. Unless you like to do it on your own and read the book, i'll guess you'll be fine.
I hate her class, hate her exams and i wish i would've never took her for financial accting. She doenst give reviews and doesnt explain things well. She just complains about ppl not reading the chapters.
Professor Hampton is a great teacher, if you are willing to work. Those that gave her bad ratings are just lazy and didn't feel like putting effort into the class. She is MORE than helpful if you go to her office hours. I got an A in the clss.
One of the worst teachers at UCF. Does not lecture, just asks a bunch of Q's and if students dont know the answers she repeats the question until someone gets it. You hear the wrong answer 10 times then the right one. 1st exam all vocab, 2nd all hw prob. Makes a hard class into the impossible. Im not lazy i get all As,but i have C.GET SOMEONE ELSE!
The worst teacher ever. I read the chapters b4 class, went to tutoring at SARC and did my homework and I still had a bad grade. She doesnt give reviews and lectures were terrible because she doesnt write anything down. All she did was complain about ppl not reading the chapters.
One of the worst teachers at UCF. Yells at the class if they dont know the material and wastes time in which she could be teaching. Not helpful, doesnt email students back. Ill be taking this class again with a different teacher... DON'T TAKE HER
This class was not designed to be easy. Professor Hampton was more than helpful when a student had a question. If you come to class and actively participate, she's more than willing to help you out. At this level in college, you should know that you have to read the chapters and do the homework to get a good grade. STOP COMPLAINING!
Horrible professor! She doesn't teach, yells at the class the entire time, and gets very annoyed when you ask her for help. What about her homework, quizzes, and exams? They are long, tedious, and difficult! Avoid her at all costs!
Hampton = spawn of Satan!.. she is rude, unprofessional, yells at you, makes you feel stupid if you ask Q's. Avoid at all costs! The 3 people that liked her in the past 10 years probably lived in her office - she plays fave's w/ select few(and still yells at them). Tests are impossible, HW and lectures = pointless. Take ANYONE else!
If you are an accounting major, definately take her. You will learn a lot. For people that hate accounting and just want an easy A dont take her. Stop complaining, you are in college and it does require effort to get a degree. She is a great teacher.
She has a genuine concern for her students and wants to see them do well. Accounting is a hard subject but i would definately recommend taking her. She makes the class interesting with her animated explanitions and she is very helpful outside of class if you need help. I would definately recommend her she loves teaching and it shows.
Plain and simple, she's a bad teacher in every sense of the description. Blames the students when she runs behind schedule, crabs that no one participates but then rips on them when they do, and lectures for one hour on useless stuff while testing you on other things. Not a hard class, but a horrible teacher.
This lady should be avoided at all costs. I used to think it was just me, that I wasn't good in the class, but then today we had Mrs. Bobek substitue for my class, and it became clear that I'm not a complete moron, because the way she taught it, tax makes sense. Mrs. Hampton on the other hand, is a bad teacher. Please avoid her.
I don't even know what classes she teaches, but I was just walking by her office and heard her yelling at a student in there because he didn't understand something in accounting. This woman is unbelievable. The guy just wanted help and here she is making him feel bad. What a terrible teacher and person.
Great Teacher!!! The subject is in no way easy but if you come prepared to class she will really clarify everything that can be quite tricky to learn on your own. I recommend her. Her class is entertaining and she will challenge you to participate.
Prof. Hampton can be a bit overwhelming at times but she has to be to teach the subjects that she does. Yes she does make you participate and do homework but if you don't you won't get anything out of the class. Tests are not hard if you have studied. If you're too sensitive...don't take this class.
A very HARD course, everytime I came to class I thought I was in the wrong room she could have been speaking German for all I know.Very confusing course. She calls on people so shy people be warned & come prepared. But she is nice & helpful if you go to her office hrs.The course itself is hard, and as for me I'll be retaking it next semester.GOOD LUCK
I think that fall 2006 was the first time she had taught this class, so it was at first extremely confusing, but she later gave notes, study guides, and practice problems, which helped A LOT! She gets really frustrated with students sometimes, so don't take it personal if she gets mad at you. Particpation is crucial. If you study, you'll be fine.
Absolutely the worst professor I've had at UCF. She will make you feel stupid if you ask her for help. Avoid her at all costs.
This was the hardest class I've taken by far. It even surpassed Cornerstone. She thinks this class is the only class you have and held us over at least 5 minutes every day. She'll make you feel stupid half the time if you ask a question.
mrs hampton is the sweetest professor at UCF..she really cares about you learning and understanding the material..i went to her office hours and she spent 3 hours helping me understand and study the material for the final..highly recommend her
I will not take her again. I guess she's good for some students, but I can't listen to her. I quite going to class, and only read the book, which helped me a lot more than actually going to her class. She makes things so confusing, and the tests are really hard. Much harder than what she teaches in class. Don't take her.
Very good teacher. The material is difficult but she is very clear and to the point. She definitely knows what she is talking. The tests are easy compared to the material, very straight forward. You must read before you go to class or you will have no idea what is going on. You also must go to lectures. Get the study guide.
To start off with, this is a very hard class... As the teacher stresses every day in class YOU MUST read and attempt the homework everyday before class... Not doing this will get you behind and you will be lost the rest of the semster so READ READ READ your chapters before class. And If you get lost go to Office ours, Very Helpful!
Mrs. Hampton, for me, was a terrible teacher. I never attended class, and got notes from another teacher's website since Mrs. Hampton does not give notes. I studied on my own because she doesn't really teach anything. Her tests are easy as long as you do the multiple choice in the book/ study guide. Just remember to read the book and study!
Had her for summer A. Takes Hard material and lays it right out for you. You HAVE to read the book and actually study. I did all homework before tests as a study guide. Ended up with an A. Tests are M/C, and very straightforward. As she'll tell you, shes not out to trick you. I would take her again.
She has no patience for students'questions after class. This class is already difficult. Her impatience makes it harder. Don't expect her to answer your questions after class hours. She will treat you like a fool or a lazy student. She is smart. No dobut about this. But she doesn't know how to teach. Be wise. Don't take her class. Or else...
Very good teacher. Would take her again. Just make sure to read the textbook and work with the studt guide.
Prof very clear/concise on most things, contridicts herself on lectures or book in her chapter notes.In-class portion of exam comprehensible if u study. Altho, she's not tryin to trick you, her change in terminology on exams seems as tryin 2 throw u off. Exams very hard and doing hw is essential. Gives 0 points for attendance out of 40 (not good)
She is not helpful at all!Bad temper, always screaming and yelling at her students! She wouldnt admit her mistakes and will make your life difficult if you try to argue with her!She is rude, she does not look like an educated person! I dont think anything she teaches in class is aimed to her exams!Terrible teacher! AVOID!!!!
This class is already hard enough, get this teacher is a suicide!!!! Make your choice! Take it or drop it!
Ms. Hampton is tough but she wants you to learn the material. I loved the class overall and she is one of my favorite professors!
This class requires a lot of work and devotion. "Looking at the homework" does not constitute as studying and will not get you a passing grade. If you read, work the homework multiple times and are proactive in class, there is no excuse as to why you shouldn't get an A. Not a HARD class, but A LOT of work. You can learn a lot in this class.
I totally agree with some people's comments about her. She got a very bad temper. Love to scream and yell.... terrible terrible person.
The embodiment of the stereotype - "obnoxious New Yorker". She is abrasive, arrogant and condescending. Not a nice person. She seems to relish making the exams as tricky as possible and acting as if it is the student's fault. Avoid if you can.
The Gordan Ramsey of accounting (minus the swear words). You can pass the class if you work your butt off, but don't expect any help from her (she'll make you feel stew-pid).
I took Mrs. Hampton for Summer A. The class itself is hard, and there is A LOT of material. I think she is a good teacher, but she doesn't give notes.. The tests were pretty easy, but only with a lot of studying, and tutoring helped tremendously. I would definitely recommend her, but you have to take the class seriously!
Shes a good prof. but the course itself is hard! you definitaly need to work hard for your grade, shes clear at explaning the material. I had already taken the class with another prof and received a 69.3%. Having experienced 2 diff profs, shes by far the better one!
This class is VERY tough. Studying and reading the book are a MUST. Professor Hampton listened to our concerns and helped us a bit with curves and her TA's gave more in depth study guides for the last couple of tests, which were helpful. I would take her again.
Tough class, but nothing impossible. Had her for summer A, so it was a lot of difficult material in a short period of time. I highly recommend that you do the homework, it really helped me learn the material. Go to class, do the homework, and study for test and you should do fine...but dont kill yourself if you dont get an A.
Prof Hampton is a great teacher. It is a hard class for many people but her delivery of the information is great. She teaches it like a true introductory class which is what we need. You do have to read and make sure you do the homework but if you keep up with it, studying for tests shouldn't be too hard
She's the best professor I've had at UCF! Very helpful, explains everything very clearly, and gives good curves. She's very outgoing and tells unnecessary stories sometimes, but it helps break up the material. Take this class with her!!
one of the best teachers at UCF! she is a very hard teacher and you do have to put in a lot of time into her class, but you learn A LOT! I had her for financial accounting and I still remember everything I learned in her class. I recommend taking her!!
Mrs. Hampton is absolutely the best teacher I had at UCF. She is extremelly interested in the student's learning. YOU HAVE TO ATTEND EVERY CLASS to understand the material and do all of the reading. ADVICE: Start early in this class...specially on the projects!! I really learned with Mrs. Hampton and I'd take her again with any other class!
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. Not only was she scattered in her delivery of the material, she was also rude and condescending. Her responses to questions were degrading and she spent a good amount of class time telling us how stupid we all were. Unless she has mellowed out since, I absolutely would not recommend her.
I don't care for her class. She assumes we know alot more about tax than we do. She can be rude to students and has been belittleing to students. I've heard much better things about Andrew Judd's class. I wish I took that class. Avoid this professor if you want a good grade.
I LOVE HER! She has been my favorite teacher at UCF. She teaches to accomodate all types of learning styles. VERY helpful & always able to assist u. VERY fair and a wonderful teacher. I hate accounting & she made it so much easier to understand.Go to class and pay attention. The subject is dificult so dont slack. Shes the best teacher 4 accounting!
If you haven't noticed yet it's a senior class, which means either come focused/prepared or ready to learn since it is intense material already. She has a great attitude towards learning, but somewhat condescending towards students in general. She's more of an instructor than a professor. Her method isn't as effective, but the intentions are there.
I thought she was a terrible teacher. Very rude and condescending, she obviously does not like teaching...which begs the question...why is she here?
READ THE BOOK. I took this class in summer B, I think the pace of the summer class made it harder than it had to be. Pretty tough class, I still ended up with an A though. I only sorta paid attention to the lectures but I read every word of the book and I did fine. READ THE BOOK.
awful teacher!! She has this mindset we all understand Tax going into the class when most of us don't. Worst part is if 1 person seems to understand it then she assumes we are ALL on the same page....not so much. Avoid her if you can
Prof Hampton is AMAZING!! I took her in summer A- The class is fast paced but if you keep up with the reading and try to do the hmk without using the hints it will def help when you go to class or watch the lecture. Go to her for help! She's eager to help if she sees your really trying Its a tough class but she can help make it easier to understand
I love her! she's awesome, extremely helpful and her videos are interesting to watch. Just make sure you read the book and you will do fine. Her tests are super easy. Take her for ACG 2021
This class was very hard and she is not an easy grader. Participation is CRUCIAL in this class and she literally counts EVERY time you raise your hand in class. There are no curves and she really doesn't care about you or your grade. She is very intimidating when you speak up because she attacks you and makes you feel and look stupid. Ridiculous!
She's not easy but she is an amazing teacher. If you are willing to work she is willing to help, if you go to her office (during hours) she will spend as much time as you need and she really cares about her students. I got Married during the semester and she was excited for me and congratulated me several times.
Best professor I have ever had at UCF!
She is a professor who is also a great teacher. I enjoyed her enthusiasm in class. I also enjoy how she talks to you like you're an idiot, because you are. But, she will un-idiot-ify you and break TAX down for simple people.
SO glad I did not listen to all the people on here, she is an awesome teacher! She makes even the most complicated concepts simple. I will admit she is quite intimidating at first but I got over that quickly with how much I have learned from her teaching.
Love/hate thing with her, as everyone else does. Teaching style is Q&A - not very effective and her "notes" are illegible scribbles. Tests weren't 'terrible' - but didn't seem concerned that two years in a row people averaged a 58% on test 2. She seems like a good person, but she's not a teacher for everyone - and certainly not for me.
I have taken Financial previously and it is not an easy class. Professor Hampton tells you she is going to make the material as easy as possible and she lives up to her word.If you think Hampton's Accounting class is difficult or that she is not a good teacher you probably will not pass any ACG2021. She is always willing to answer questions.
she's a nice lady...but her teaching style SUCKS. and she promised to make things crystal clear but never really gave a clear expression of what material would be on the test. honestly just take acg at valencia.
I just came here to stand up for Prof Hampton! People are giving her a hard time because she doesn't give you a "cheat sheet" or "practice exams." I went to lectures on a regular basis and did very well in her class. I found this professor very clear and helpful! Don't believe everything you read on this site :)
Prof H was great! I am also standing up for her. The people who made bad grades must not have put in enough effort. Watch the lectures and read the book. Easy as that. If you are confused go to office hours. I got an A on every test without an issue.
I loved this professor one of the best at UCF idk why people complain if you actually pay attention and read the book its really simple. She explains everything with simple terms I did well in every single one of her tests.
The class is hard, but she is helpful and she tries to make it simple. If you are confused, ASK! In person attendance isn't mandatory but strongly recommended. This is class you have to try and if you are willing to work she is willing to help you. For those who said she didnt give ec, many of the tests had extra points built in, and the homework
Best teacher I have ever taken at UCF. I took her for tax which is not an enjoyable class but she made it very interesting. The exams are difficult but if you study hard and go to class you could get an A. She is always available in her office for help which is great. Take her, trust me
She was an excellent teacher. As long as you watch her lectures carefully and pay attention her tests are straight from her lectures. Easy A if you put in the effort
Probably the best TEACHER but toughest GRADER in the accounting department at UCF. She isn't out to fail you by any means, but she is EXTREMELY stingy about giving points on exams. Very condescending towards students, and she will not let you finish your sentences ever. For the better grade take Judd, if you want to actually learn, take Hampton.
I thought Hampton was an amazing professor, as an acctg major this is the accounting class I have gotten the most out of.She is more than willing to help if asked. Some may find her abrasive if you are "thin skinned" but that is just her personality, it's not a personal attack by any means. She enjoys helping students, take her you WILL learn!
Learned a lot in the class. Her personality takes some getting used to. Hard exams, plays favorites and despite the sign-in sheet you fill out every day, attendance doesn't count for participation - you have to raise your hand and talk or lose a lot of points.
Got a D, retook it, and missed an A by 2 points. She is an excellent teacher and her class was one of the ones i've learned the most in at UCF. READ the chapter before class THOROUGHLY and use her to clarify it. Part of your grade consists of participating in class! Class is harder as it goes, so make sure you do well in the beginning. Good luck!
This class in general is just really hard. She tries to explain things in simple terms which makes things better. You definitely need to read the book because there's no way you'll pass without it! She's pretty nice, just try to talk to her about what's causing you problems and she'll try to help! Rounds or curves if the whole class did poorly!
retook this class after getting a D with Dennis in the spring. Must read book!!! and do ALL of the hw (they really boost your grade)! use lectures to clear things up and I highly recommend going to the TA for tutoring especially for test 2 which is the hardest!Great teacher, but LOTS of work!
Hampton is an excellent teacher who will go the extra mile for any student who takes the initiative as well. She tries her best to take course material that is very hard and make it understanding, but this course demands a lot of studying and reading. At UCF, there is no better teacher for Financial Accounting than Hampton.
I can honestly say she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She makes class interesting so you remember things, and is always willing to help when you don't understand. Don't wait until the last minute to study though, this class is tough, but doable :)
Easily the best professor I've had in undergrad. The textbook is terrible, but she does a great job clarifying topics. A decent amount of homework and projects. Tests aren't too difficult, she prepares you well. Her personality is hit or miss, but she never really yells at a person or tries to make them feel dumb, it's just how she comes off.
Took her class few years back. Does scream lol but overall given the course really respect her method of teaching. Clear and will definitely help if your stuck. Plus give her a break it's accounting for crying out loud, expect it to be frustrating. Especially tax
LOVE this teacher! Only one I have ever met that makes me not rethink becoming an accountant. READ the chapter and DO the HW and she will help you understand everything in class. Exams are ok, one page cheat sheet and the written helps out a lot. She is super approachable so ask away any doubts you have. Sad she actually doesn't teach anything else
Do yourself a favor and take Prof. Hampton if you are interested in tax. She is inspiring. Great teacher, not easy--but clears things up in lecture like no other professor I have ever had. The book does suck. Gives a few EC points, make sure u participate in class, and show all work for HW and u will get full points. Got an A, it's not that hard!
RUN! She doesn't help unless you KNOW the material. She's hard. Very hard. Don't take her if you want to pass. Hard class!
This teacher really has it out for her students. She deletes practice material and lectures before exams, makes it impossible to see what you missed on the exam, and makes you rely solely on the text to learn anything. Marcey Hampton is an all-around bad person.
Accounting is hard in itself, but Hampton makes it more difficult on purpose. She tells you story on how she got a 4.0 in school by working "hard" aka she wants you to work "hard" too. Deletes lecture videos, and test are hard. Caution yourself before taking her class.
Horrible teacher, maybe better for higher level classes but annoyingly sarcastic and confusing. Pointless classes. What i learned i had to learn from the book.
READ THE BOOK. she tries to make things easier during her lecture, but rely mostly on the book. she's all over the place in her slides and her tests are really tricky. she's nice though.
Class was tough but definitely doable. Put in minimal effort and escaped with a C. Tries to scare you by saying you have to read the book.. Don't listen to that white noise. Watch the lectures, or at least every other. Maybe one of three, and you should be good. In total, take the class if you need to but take heed to the lack of a chili pepper.
Makes assignments due before lectures are released so you HAD to read the book which is NOT the way I learn. Had to spend ~5 hours/day on this class alone between the reading, assignments, & lecture. Got the A, but VERY DIFFICULT. STRESSFUL. DON'T TAKE IN SUMMER! This is coming from an honors student who's never made less than an A! RUN!
Took class over summer class is tough if you don't read the book. Its as simple as that, read the book and you will pass. Most people underestimate the amount of work required to be successful in this course so they complain when they don't do well. Professor hampton will help you clarify material but she expects you to know it prior to seeing her.
Mrs. Hampton is tough. Tax is tough. She sets up her class so that you legitimately LEARN tax. Put in the effort, and you WILL pass. She isn't out to make you fail, but she doesn't hand out gades either. You have to earn the grade you want. Very nice, helpful professor with a no BS approach. DON'T BE LAZY!
very tough but great teacher
Best teacher by far at UCF. She is extremely knowledgeable!! Only teacher that has not made me hate Accounting. Class is tough, but so is tax. She teaches it clearly and wants you to learn. You must read chapters prior to class and participate in every class. You can get a good grade!!
This class is not very difficult, but you have to put i n the effort. You have to read the book and stay caught up with lectures. I definitely recommend going to live lecture as it helps way more. Pay attention to what she's saying and do all the homework. Her tests are pretty simple if you read the book and watch the lectures.
Class itself is not too bad, but STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend reading straight from the book if you get her. If you're not the book learner person, don't take her because she sucks even more at lecturing than the book is. She'll help with examples of problems, but they're usually given on the test differently from lecture, book AND homework. =/
best teacher at UCF ! cares about if students really learned. explains everything well. challenging but fun. Her lecture is very logical. don't miss one because it is cumulative.
READ READ READ!! You have to read the book before class. You will definitely be lost without reading first and she will ask questions about the readings. She explains well but not an easy class. Do the homework it will help. Oh and if you don't understand in the first 3 chapters DROP THE CLASS!!!
Awesome Professor!
This is a very hard class. Prof. Hampton's tests are difficult and the homework online does not help AT ALL with them. I suggest taking it with another professor but if you are stuck with Hampton, make sure you read the book and watch the lectures. No extra credit, one curve on exam 2.
Extremely difficult professor. You must read the book to succeed. She makes things seem simple enough in the lectures but the exams are impossible my class pretty much had a D average for the every test. Do every hw possible thats how I got by. Very boring avoid if possible but you should still be able to pass even doing poorly on the tests.
Professor Hampton is the best professor ever. Everything she taught is so useful even in the upper level accounting classes. She never read slides off power points. Her lectures are so logical and they make students think in class. Professor Hampton helped me build a solid accounting base. Thank you professor Hampton !
Loved taking Professor Hampton for ACG 2021. Learn everything you need to know from the lectures. Tests are crystal clear if you know the material. Tells corny jokes in class, but makes the dry material bearable. Def would recommend taking over Reinking. Word of advice If you take lecture capture, she deletes all the lectures once the exams open.
Hampton is a great professor. She takes a complicated tax code and breaks it down into manageable components. It's tax, so expect it to be extremely detailed and somewhat dry but if you don't understand something, just ask her. Exams were fair. Homework can take a while but READ the notes and book! You will need to work hard to earn and A or B.
Professor Hampton is a true character. Tax is not the easiest subject, but she breaks it down really well. The material is straightforward as long as you READ BEFORE CLASS, and ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE!!! She cares a lot for her students and will only help with the right amount of effort. She is no-nonsense professor, but really entertaining!
She speaks aggressively, is unclear, has hard tests. I passed but I really did not like the way she taught. Most of the lecture is her scribbling chicken scratch onto the projector and moving super fast.
Prof Hampton is amazing. The lectures are unlike anything at the UCF CBA, she actually engages you! Tests are tough but so is tax. She gives you plenty of opportunities to get an A or B: If you do all the homework, you can get extra credit. she allows a page of notes on tests, and holds review sessions out of class. She really cares (unlike the TA)
Tough teacher, don't expect much from a 1 on 1 with her, she will just turn you down and tell you to look at your book for answers. All homework and assignments are due before she teaches you the material, "so you come into class knowing what shes talking about."
Professor Hampton is the best professor hands DOWN. She is patient, personable, and will help you until you FINALLY get it and understand it. Be prepared for readings and homework, but as long as you put in maximum effort into this class, she will be there to help you along the way. LOVE HER!
This is not an easy A class. If that is what you're looking for don't take this class. I took this class during Summer A and I was so paranoid about everything. But this class is set up so you understand and pass the class. Best bet is to attend lectures. I would retake loved this class.
GO TO CLASS! Do not watch the lectures online because going to class helps you understand the material so much better and gives you the chance to ask questions as you go. Tests are not too bad, study your notes and make sure to take good notes. UTILIZE HER OFFICE HOURS! They are one on one and she is so helpful and makes sure you understand it.
Took during summer A. Got an A but it was hard. Lots of students failed. Her exams are so tricky!! I knew my stuff bc i studied 2-3 hours a day and even though i would get 90's on them i still thought they were hard. I wouldn't call it teaching, more than anything she reviews the material with you. She expects you to have already read the material
Mrs. Hampton is one of the best professors I've had. I had her for 2021 as well and she makes things as engaging as possible. Tax itself is difficult but make sure you participate in class, study, and do the homeworkprojects. It also helps to go over the exams with her because the final was cumulative.
She's an AMAZING professor. She can be a little harsh, she's a no bs professor, she says it like it is. It's not an easy class by any means but she sets up the class so you actually learn, she makes it bearable. Participate in class, don't just show up to get participation points. Do all the homeworks for extra credit. I highly recommend her
Best professor at UCF!!! She is passionate about helping her students succeed and is really good at explaining the concepts, if you want to LEARN Tax, take her! Requires effort on your part, this is not an easy class, but well worth the effort.
Professor Hampton was a great professor. The material is very hard, but she breaks it down really well for you to understand. PARTICIPATE in class. It can make the difference between an A and a B. Great professor. Hard class.
Tax is already a challenging subject; but she makes the class enjoyable. Very engaging. Always willing to help students. A bit tough, but she is fair. Does not try to trick you on tests; you'll do that yourself. My favorite professor in the accounting department. TAKE HER!
First off, this teacher is TERRIBLE! I watched all of her lectures online and learned almost nothing. She blew my mind when a student asked her a question about the test and her response was, "You need to stop asking questions about the test and need to just understand what I'm teaching you." That right there showed she doesn't care about you!
Not a totally bad teacher, but just overall very rude and constantly yells/screams at students in class. I also really dislike how she writes very sloppy notes in class. You will have to study a lot in this class if you are not smart.
STAY AWAY. I decided it was a good idea to take this over summer A, NONONO!! Don't do it, you will have to devote your life to it. SHE MAKES YOU DO THE HOMEWORK BEFORE CLASS and then "reviews" it!! STAY AWAY!!!! I've gotten straight A's all of college and now am about to fail this class. PLEASE STAY AWAY! SAVE YOUR GPA.
I have never had such a terrible professor as Hampton was! The tests wereall lecture based, I did well on the online assignments that are also required but everything comes from lectures. The tests are incredibly hard and she tends to base it off of her and not the material. "What example did I use when.." "What sequence did I use these examples."
I took this class over Summer A and it was pretty tough to say the least. I you actually watch the lectures and put in the time for the class you'll be fine. Professor Hampton is an awesome professor who actually makes accounting somewhat interesting.
I really liked her teaching style. Everything makes sense and easy. You'll definitely have to read the textbook to pass though.
Very difficult class. This professor was an absolute nightmare. I used Study Cube for every exam and just barley passed with a 73. I watched every lecture religiously and would spend hours on end studying for the exams. The homework isn't too bad compared to what I have had for other classes and it does help your grade significantly.
I took this class over Summer A, and it was a lot of work in a little bit of time but nothing too tough. As long as you read the text and watch the lectures there is no reason not to pass the class. If you try to ask her something after class she is good about trying to get to everyone who needs help. Really enjoyed the material and her lectures
Hampton is extremely hostile, complaining when no one participates, yet scolding any questions asked. She cares more about formatting than correct answers, and will give you 0s if you fail to label things to her liking. She makes an already complicated subject much harder than it has to be. Definitely the worst professor I've had at UCF, so far.
One of the best professors I've ever known. Gives the best advice to students and really cares, but if you don't invest in yourself and you're lazy, she won't bother with you.
