His classes were fair and organized. His English is a little sketchy and a lot of students had a problem with that, but he was always really friendly and willing to help out. He did play jazz at the beginning of each class, which was kind of creepy.
Absentee professor. Takes weeks to get assignments back to you. Does not respond to email. 70% of grade comes from 2 exams that do not even follow the study guides. 14 weekly quizzes and essays only count for 30% of grade.
Easiest class I have every taken. He is a funny guy. Very lenient grading, he will give you at least 50% on a test, just for taking it (if you got every question wrong he would give you 50%), but the tests were very easy, he told you what questions would be on the test.
He was a joy to listen to. I made boring subjects relevant to every day situations. This made the class interesting. TOTALLY ADORABLE
Very interesting guy. He made this class very fun and interesting, which is very difficult when its science. Interesting class, very applicable to anyone who need a PS credit. I highly recommend this course and this professor. Looking at him makes it very easy also.
This class was very fun. He really knows his stuff, and wants to help you know it too. Very nice and funny. You are given the material to study prior to quizes. Very interesting and good class.
VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE! THIS CLASS WAS GREAT. PROF KNOWS HIS STUFF AND SHOWS GREAT PASSION FOR IT. THIS SHOWS IN THE CONTENT AND HELPED MAKE IT VERY EASY TO FOLLOW. FUNNY GUY, LAID BACK AND FUN. LIKED THE JAMES TAYLOR (I THINK) THAT HE PLAYED AT THE BEGINNING OF CLASS SOMETIMES. ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSES OF ALL TIME. CONSIDER CONSUMPTION!
This class was pretty easy. took it summer semester, 2/ 1/2 hours everyday for 4 weeks. He made it pretty easy to sit through. He knows his stuff very well, and made sure all his students understood everything, and he made it so easy, considering we learned a lot of info in a short period of time. Overall, I'd recommend him.
Marek's a good guy. Know's his stuff. I only took upper division classes from him and he'll just blind you with knowledge if you're not careful and attentive. Always willing to help you outside of class, though.
I took this course online and was very pleased with the structure and how the teacher ran the course. He always e-mailed back with questions and was a very fair teacher. He offered extra credit from essays that you have to write each week where you can earn 2% toward your mid term and final test with each one. I would recommend 100%! Loves teaching
Great teacher!!! Very clear about the requirments of the class. Wasn't too excited about Geology; however turned out to be an interesting class.
Really a quality teacher who only wants you to succeed. His Polish accent was a little hard to get used to at first but his powerpoint notes he hands out are so clear, you barely need him anyway. One midterm, one non-comprehensive final, and six quizzes in between. All way easy if you read through the notes.
I took environmental geosci from this teacher (by the way I didn't use the book at all and got an A, everything is covered in class notes that you'll need). He's very interested in the subject which makes it more fun to listen to. He is really nice, makes everything easy, and grades easy like most teachers here. He's adorable too (like elmo-cute).
I took this class online. Quiz and paper due every week. Interesting reading material, easy assignments, easy tests, he has a passion for this class, interacts well for being an online class. I would suggest taking him.
Geology 1060 I took this as gen Ed class good professor very easy class grades very fairly. Take it online piece of cake.
accented english
Great class for those who don't think they like science type classes. This class was put together well and only expected a quiz and short essay about every week. The quiz was given in a review before so that you could find the answers in the book or his slides before hand. Easy class but I learned more than I do from most classes. Good teachn style
I took this class on-line. It is a good class to take, even if you aren't that interested in science. The quizzes are easy and he has a slide presentation for each section which helps out a lot.
Geology 1110 taken online was super easy. He provides slides and quiz reviews that are the actual questions on the quiz. Basically the same story for the 2 exams, except he tells you a few other things to study. The hardest part for me was the weekly essays. They are easy but you have to have the motivation to get them done.
Great professor. Very clear of expectations, easy to communicate with.
Very easy teacher, tests are very easy, Highly recommended
This class appeared hard at first, but if you do the study guide all will be well. If you do the study guide, you should be able to pass the class without too much stress.
He is a great teacher. Teaches very clearly. He is very fair when it comes to grading. Probably one of the best teachers i have had at Weber State. Just study and you will pass the 6 quizzes and 2 tests. The paper at the end is a little rough but he helps you a ton on it.
Class was easier than I thought and Marek is a good professor. Though class was kinda boring and I found myself falling asleep on occasion.
took online he went out of his way to make sure everyone passed his class i feel he has a genuine interest in making sure you succeed
Marek is the nicest professor. The class is pretty easy. Just memorize the slideshow, and it should be a breeze. All his quizzes are based off the slideshows, and the tests are based off his quizzes. Had tons of videos and example so it was easy to understand. I highly recommend this class!!!
He gives you the ability to pass the tests but there was so much information and so many terms it was hard to understand. Also 70% of grade is based off two tests
This was a super hard class. I took it online. I didnt understand it at all. I should have failed but he gave me a D I guess for effort which was awesome
I took this online in summer. The weekly quizzes and essays are super easy but his 2 tests were HARD. He claimed most the questions would come off his quizzes but only 10 of the 70 questions did. Take some extra time on the essays and you get 25 extra credit points for best in class. Overall a good class, the midterm and final were very hard.
The assignments and quizzes were easy. The midterm and final exam, not so much. Make sure you study the powerpoints. He bases the test questions off of those. The book is not used much. My only complaint on the homework was that the weekly essays wore me out by the time the class was over. It was very hard to write the last few essays.
This class is pretty easy. Every week you take a quiz and write a two page paper on the chapter assigned. There are only 2 tests and are not too hard. I just studied the review questions and was able to pass the test.
Online class, pretty easy. Have to complete an essay and quiz each week. Be sure to write good essays so you will receive 25 extra credit points per essay. Study hard for the final and midterm because they are quite difficult.
This is a great online course. There is an open-book quiz and an essay due every week. He is a generous grader on the essays. He only has a mid-term and final exam, so there is quite a bit to study for those, but they aren't too hard. As long as you read the slides he provides, you'll do great in this class. Would def recommend his online class!
Very easy professor and class. But a little advice you can chose to buy the book or not. The lectures he provides are enough to pass the exams.
All quiz answers to study are posted online and the quizzes are on the mid-term and Final. Makes the class super easy if you do the work. Never had an issue and extra credit is received for every Essay. One per weeks. Super easy , because you get to chose the topic, you write about. Awesome Easy A!!
A quiz and a 2 page essay each week after viewing a 30 slide power point. Super easy. However, there are two tests that are worth 70% of your grade combined but as long as you use the study guide he gives you like a bible you'll pass with flying colors. He's super responsive and helpful if you email him.
really easy online class
I took his online Environmental Geo 1060 class. it was a very good class. He is very helpful with any questions. The assignments are very clear. Everything about the class was very straight forward.
He loves what he teaches! Very nice and helpful! Quiz and essay every week. You do get burned out on essays but if you write good ones, you get 25 extra credit points. I almost always got the extra 25 points. Just apply the subject to your life and act as if you love the subject as much as Matyjasik does. That's the trick. Interesting class!
I took this class online and it was awesome. There was a quiz on the chapter(s) from the textbook and a short essay on a related topic of your choosing each week (he graded these very easily, I got 100% on all of them). There was one test at mid-term and a final, and the study guides had pretty much all of the questions (or similar ones) on them.
It was a pretty easy class. His test reviews are great, they help you a lot when reviewing for the test. I ended with an A in the class. The assignments are easy. A quiz and essay every week, but he grades the essays super easy, all you do is have to do them.
I had little expectations entering this class online, but when I got to reading the lectures and doing research for the class I was able to learn a lot. Great class, very informative about the physical earth and the changes there in. Professor Matyjasik is great, easy class quiz and essay weekly. tests are some what hard study slides for them.
He is very friendly and expectations are very clear. He offers extra credit for best essays. This is a great intro class!
I took this class online. There is a lot of reading which is to be expected. There is 1 quiz and a short essay due at the end of each chapter 1 per week. quizzes and essays are easy as long as you do your reading. Tests are hard, make sure to study for them. He does curve the grades on tests to help out. He also gives extra credit for good essays.
There's one quiz and essay due each Sunday. Not hard, but the essays got monotonous fast, and he gives extra credit for good ones. He gave a midterm test study guide, but most of the questions on the test were pretty specific and weren't on the study guide. The Final was better. For a general ed, this class could be stressful.
Marek is a great professor who wants to see his students succeed. He is readily available for questions and fun to listen to.
This was an online class. It was almost like not having a professor. A quiz and an essay are due every week and then there are two big tests. His quizzes were worded really oddly and were difficult to choose the right answer, even if you did the required reading. The tests were the same way.
This was the easiest class I have ever taken. There are weekly 2 page essays due but they are very easy to do, takes 2 hours at most. Quizzes are online and open book. Was able to bring 4 PAGES of notes for mid term! If you are looking for an easy A, take this class. Professor Matyjasik is awesome!
Super easy class, but was almost to easy where I didn't learn anything. Had quizzes that were open book and we went over in class. Didn't ever take attendance. Didn't use canvas very well so we never knew when stuff was really due. If you're are taking this for your generals I would recommend it because it is so easy.
There is a quiz and essay do every week. Pretty easy stuff though and he gives great extra credit for a well written essay. The bad part is his tests!!! There are only two buy they are impossible! Put a huge dent in my grade and that is discouraging after getting 100% or better on every single assignment and quiz.
Nice guy. You get an assignment a week and a test every other week or so. Super responsive to emails. Happy to help with Canvas issues. Loves Geology. Definitely recommend.
Prof Matyjasik seems like a pretty chill guy. Took his online class so I never really got to meet him. He requires an essay and a quiz due every week by Sunday. If you get best essay, he gives you 125/100 which is a lot of extra credit that you can accumulate. His 2 exams are rough but he does adjust them on a curve. Overall, pretty easy class.
A really easy and interesting class. The quizzes are easy because he provides the questions and answers. You just need to look them up or go through his PowerPoint to get the answers. My essays were about 450+ words and I got 125/100 on most of them. You can bring 4 pages of notes for the exams and the questions to his exams come from the quizzes.
I took this as an online class and it was wonderful. There is a weekly paper due, it may provide extra credit. The 1st exam was curved and the 2nd adjusted. I would definitely study well for both as they are worth a large portion of the grade. The extra credit for a well written paper is a helpful buffer.
Dr. Maty is a good professor, though he does have a thick eastern European accent that was hard to understand at times. That aside, he was a fairly easy grader and we had some fun projects. He is a solid choice and I would take another class from him.
TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. Seriously, this was the easiest class ever. You have 12 essays, 12 quizzes, and 2 tests. The essays are surprisingly easy (you don't have to read the whole chapter, just use the headers to decided your questions then read that section), use quizlet for the quizzes, and you can take notes into the midterm and final.
This class was honestly pretty easy. You have 16 online assignments that go along with the textbook, 1 Signature Assignment, and a midterm exam and a final. The online assignments are due weekly, and they are an easy 100 points, you just need to complete them. With his midterm and final he allows 4 pages of notes in the test.
This class was extremely easy. There were 16 smart quizzes that go along with each chapter of the text book, a mid-semester essay, a midterm exam, and a final. He offers all the questions that are going to be on the midterm/final and allows four pages of notes.
You have a homework assignment due each week that is done online. It takes a couple of hours but is really easy. He literally emailed us each test (2 total) and you can take 4 pages of written or typed notes for each test. Final paper was easy. Even though this class was easy I actually learned a decent amount.
This was the easiest online class I have ever taken. There are lots of notes to take, but he gives you the quizzes to study before you take the test, and they are word for word the exact same. However, he never responds to emails and consistently forgot to open the quizzes before the due date, so we were always behind. Really unorganized.
Such an easy class. He gives you the answers to bring with you for the midterm and final. Plus it was interesting enough that it wasn't boring. But it was frustrating when you are ready to take the quiz and its not open but due the next day because he forgot.
Lots of reading and quizzes after each chapter. Final paper due at the end of the semester. Pretty standard class. Prof is cool though. Pretty much didn't hear from him the entire semester. Very on your own type of course.
there is several resources for this class, the teacher is not one of them. there were several instances where an assignment or quiz was pushed back a week because the teacher was slow to make them available. same with replying to emails. the teacher will let you bring notes to the exams.
16 Learn Smarts that were an easy 100, just time consuming. 15 weekly quizzes that you can mostly find the answers on Quizlet. 2 1380 point tests that he doesn't really give you proper prep for. 1 big writing assignment. Not very clear communication. You're mostly on your own for everything
I really enjoyed this class! He was about to take a sabbatical which may have been why it was a little crazy. He was really disorganized online with assignments. As long as you go to class, he will tell you what needs to be done. Write it down and do it. Don't pay attention to due dates online. Best way to contact is through is gmail.
Assignment dates do not match what he says. He takes days if not weeks to respond to emails. I still cannot take my final exam due to him not publishing it on the dates he had set.
So disorganized. Online due dates always wrong. He takes forever to answer emails. You pretty much have to teach yourself everything because the lectures are all over the place. Weekly assignments are easy, but time-consuming. I spent the whole semester frustrated by his lack of communication regarding assignments and due dates.
The assignments that are given each week are time consuming, but easy. You have to also take a quiz every week once you finish your online assignments. 2 open note tests that are set up the same way as his quizzes. You're on your own in this class. He doesn't typically answer quickly.
The course work is overall, fairly simple but contacting the professor is extremely difficult. Whereas, it is an online class I could not see the professor during office hours or before or after class so email and canvas was the main mediums for communication. Yet, he never seemed to respond to my inquires when I needed information for assignments.
Exam questions were on quizlet and he sent exams before you took them, which I loved! It's disorganized on canvas but if you keep track of the assignment and quiz due every week, you'll do great. Assignments are longg. Just get them done early in the week. I loved this class and the ease of test taking. He responded so kindly to any concerns I had.
Took forever to put in grades/ respond to emails and never was clear on assignments or any of the learning materials. The class was easy if you kept up on work books and the 2 exams were easy. Teacher sent out exam questions and answers ahead of time. Final paper was a little tough but it was an easy class.
SUPER easy class. You can literally find all quiz answers on Quizlet. It's also very interesting what is being taught, if you decide you want to pay attention. The only thing I would complain about is that the reading assignments. They are extremely easy, but they take way to long. For example, module 1 is 91 concepts with 3 questions per concept.
I don't know if she was having a crazy summer but she did not give any feedback, always graded late, never answers emails, and always put out assignments late. The only thing I liked about her is she would email the questions for her exams before so you could study. would not take ever again!
He is amazing! (Ignore the rating below this one, they are obviously rating the wrong prof). Super easy, he responds to emails, (which is surprising considering he doesn't grade anything until almost the end of the semester), and the material is very interesting. This class is NOT HARD and NOT time consuming so take it with your hard classes!
The course consists of a quiz each week and a final paper. The instructions for the final paper were a bit ambiguous. But overall an easy class. All tests and quizzes are open book.
This class was not that hard but the organization was terrible, all of the quizzes tests, and assignments would show as being due a year ago and there was no communication about when they would actually become due. There was no feedback or grading on assignments which made doing revision assignments impossible.
Good professor but the online class is a mess. No clear directions and the assignments are broken. Take for an easy grade.
Don't take this class with other harder ones, it's very time consuming for a general. The tests on the modules ask you the same question four times, even if you got them right and that's with using quizlet. He is not a bad professor, he is easy to reach and helpful but just needs to organize syllabus better, this class has potential to be better
This class was straight forward on what is expected out of you. The professor doesn't put in grades at a timely matter. Most assignments that took a lot of time were not unlocked until the day before the due date. This resulted in assignments and quizzes being pushed a week out but there was little communicate from the instructor about this.
The class wasn't difficult as long as you did the reading each week, which was time consuming but not hard. The organization could have been better, like most of the weekly quizzes were out of date but he started to fix it when people reached out. Still enjoyed the class!
Just about all assignments are in a system called mastering geology and due dates and assignments posted on there hardly ever matched what was on canvas. I can't count how many times canvas said assignment x was due on x but it wasn't even in mastering geology. Or the dates would be totally off. Or canvas would say assignment 6 but master said 4.
This is a pretty simple class but Professor Matyjasik didn't respond to any of my emails throughout the semester. The canvas is super disorganized so it can be difficult to figure out what things need to be done and when they're due. The instructions for the signature assignment were really confusing but the work and tests are easy.
This course could be very very very difficult but it is made very simple by just scratching the surface of Hydrology 3080.
I'd know what to rate if he wasn't a figment of my imagination. He responds to emails once per maybe, grading takes as long as carving the grand canyon, and feedback on the final paper will be given? Maybe during the next ice age. Don't take his class if you want to be involved and don't want to experience similarities to having an absent father.
