Great teacher! She's very enthusiastic about teaching and entertaining to listen to. She gives you a slide list and a terms list so you know exactly what to study for the test. As long as you study those two handouts and review your in class notes before the exam, you should do fine.
Very good teacher. She loves the subject and it shows. Also an easy class if you study the 2 sheets she gives before exams.
Wonderful professor. Her exams are extremely easy, and you can learn a lot from her lectures. Very knowledgeable about Italian art and society, especially.
Great teacher. Turned what could have potentially been a gruelling 8:30am snore-a-thon into an extremely interesting class. Very knowledgeable on the subject matter.
Her first semester at UCF.. my favorite teacher this yet. She claims next classes won't get them, but the slide lists and terms were helpful. Overall she is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Go to class and you'll hardly need to study for (the 3) exams.
Awesome professor, made the class very interesting! Gives review sheets for exams. Just go to lectures and review before each exam and you'll do well.
If you're taking her for an upper level class be prepared for essay exams, but if you go to every class it shouldn't be a problem. You won't want to miss any of her lectures anyway; she makes the material very interesting.
Very nice and understanding. very interesting... make sure you pay attention in lecture!!! her tests can be fairly hard. try to go to class if not talk to her find out what you missed and she will tell you what to read. she is a great professor.
Very nice teacher. Makes class interesting..but you HAVE TO GOOO! You go, and you'll def pass.
I've heard horror stories about taking art history but after I took this class with Ms.Zaho I felt comfortable with the material. She makes learning art history amusing. I especially liked the study guides she gave the class.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her class!! I would bring a recorder to class, because she talks FAST. And definitely study terms and dates especially for the second exam! You can tell that she really loves the subject and wants you to enjoy it, also. TAKE HER CLASS!!
This teacher is a book of knowledge and will help you with anything. Her grade scale is the highest in the university. But if you study you will be fine. I heart her a lot!!
This lady is an amazing teacher. She really loves what she teaches and shows it. I had her for art history and the class is very interesting. She is very helpful and really wants you to do well. Tests were easy if you studied. She gives you great study guides before the test and if you study exactly what is on them, you're fine.
Very enthusiastic about what she does...great teacher. Easy A for me
Try to get her for any sort of art history class. She knows so much and is the best out all the teachers who teach art history that I have had. The only downside is that sometimes she is not very helpful.
Yes.. she knows alot about art history... but alot of the time she talks way too fast for you to get good notes. She's lax about helping you out, and she expects everyone to know the art as well as she does. Enthusiastic and sometimes funny, yes, but a bit confusing sometimes, if she slowed down a bit the pace would be perfect.
she was alot of fun; just be ready to memorize alot but she makes it fun!
This was such an easy A for me, especially for a summer class! If you go to class everyday, take notes, and read the chapters there is no way a person can fail. The class is all memorization. She tells you what is going to be on the tests and there is no homework. What a breeze! And best of all she is super nice and really enthusiastic.
She is definetly excited about the topic, but i found her very disorganized and her class is based solely on 4 tests, so you have to study! Do not take if your looking for an easy elective. Her grading scale is also 94-100 is an A which kinda screwed me up in the end.
She is a good and knowledgeable teacher. She is does have a sense of humor so the class is not boring. Her tests are on what she lectures about so you don’t have to read the book if you take really good notes. If you type fast, I suggest taking your laptop and typing the notes, because she does talk fast. So, if you go to class, pay attention, and
Shes the best teacher ever. She really knows her stuff and she loves what she does, so it makes it fun to learn. She is very nice and very helpful. Tests aren't really that hard as long as you study the book and notes. Don't panic. Her class isn't as hard as people make it out to be.
Warning: She is a good teacher but this IS A DIFFICULT CLASS. Be prepared to work or you will fail. She's really into the material and spends a good 20 minutes on slides which can get boring. She is the only teacher for this course....have fun!
She is very interested in what she teaches and it shows. Typing notes during class is probably your best bet, along with bringing the book, plus the image list. You will learn a lot IN CLASS. Her "celebrations of knowledge" are very fair and just challenging enough so that you earn your grade for you effort. INTERESTING AND FUN. She's entertaining.
she is a really great teacher, i learned so much in her class. by far the best arh teacher at ucf
Enthusiastic, knowledgeable, kind, hard-working, helpful, genuine, quirky. If you ask a question and she doesn't know the answer, she will go home and research it. Pay attention in class and there is no need to read the book. There are only three tests and no other grades or extra credit, but the tests are not hard as long as you study your notes.
She is VERY passionate about what she teaches, and it shows. The class is pretty hard, specially if you'r not good at memorization. I started out typing the lecture notes, but then I realized that most of what she talked about was coming from the book so I just started highlighting what she said. Got an A. Grading scale is pretty tough though.
SHE IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER, SHE CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS AND GIVES VERY FAIR TESTS. I GOT A B+ B/C I DIDN'T TAKE TEST #2 SERIOUS... IF U WANT TO DO GOOD ON THE TESTS, GO TO CLASS!!! AND REVIEW THE DEFINITIONS LIST RIGHT BEFORE THE TEST AND U'LL DO FINE. AND DON'T TRY TO WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING SHE SAYS, 50% OF IT IS JUST TO GIVE U INSIGHT.
If possible avoid this teacher! Grading scale is extremely difficult! 91 is a B+ and 92-95 is a -A and 95 and above is A. No real test reviews....Spends 30min on one slide and ask you one question about it on the test. I got good grades on all my test and still got B. No curve No extra credit. Must get 143/150 questions right to get an A!!!!!!!!
I had her for Greek and Roman Art. Extremely knowledgable and is very passionate about teaching and the art. I truly enjoyed her class. It was very interesting. The only downside is that she bases your grade on 3 essay tests(which i am not very good with) and attendance. If you attend class and take good notes plus study time, you will be fine.
She is a very good professor. Every class felt like a vacation in another part of the world. Requires hard work, but the tests are very reasonable. Highly recommend you take this class. Very useful in daily life :) you'd be surprised.
Go to class. She tells you a bunch of things that are going to be in the exams. I didn't really read the book but having the pictures to look at was good to study with.
Great professor, she's so enthusiastic about what she does. The class wasn't too difficult, just a lot of memorization. I hardly used the text because she puts more information in her lectures than whats in the book, so go to lecture.
she's great! this class is a lot of work and studying, but if you go to class you should do well. great professor.
This class was awesome! I had her class at 10am and she kept me awake and interested the whole time. She is enthusiastic about Art History and now i'm majoring in it.
She was a great teacher, very down to earth, fair, and interesting, you have to go to class to pass the tests, but as long as you take good notes and study them you will do ok
Maybe the best Professor at UCF. Easily the BEST art history teacher I have ever had. Energetic and articulate. Really engaged the class. I cannot reccomend her enough.
I hated this class. She puts up powerpoint slides and just talks about them while your trying to write all the crap down. Your best bet is to buy the notes from CV&S. Only 3 tests, no extra credit, 96 is an A and anything under a 92 is a B. Don't take this class...save yourself the headache and choose another elective
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I cannot say enough good things! Definately take her class!
dont take it if you want an easy gen ed course. I studied real hard and got a B-...must go to class if you want to pass,
Took a 6 week summer class and had a very easy time. She is very well educated and obviously knows what she's talking about. High energy and tried her best to keep everyone in the 3 hour long class awake. Easily approachable and very passionate about what she is doing. Definetly take her!! You'll regret it if you don't!
She is a wonderful teacher :) The subject takes a lot of studying to do well, but it is definitely possible. I highly recommend her class!
Very fun professor, awesome, and interesting. History has never been interesting until I met her! FUN FUN FUN!
She took the scary out of art history and holds your hand into loving the subject matter. She is fair, an expert on her lecture material and very funny. If Conan O'Brian wanted to teach art history he should copy her. All you need to do is show up every time and actually read the book, memorize the slides and pay attention to her lectures. I had no
If your like me and have a good memory, this class will be an easy A. I just went to class, took notes, and studied them the day before tests. I guess the challenge for most people is going to class since attendance isn't mandatory. If you want a good grade, just go!
Its a fun class, but theres no extra credit. As long as you go to class and take her notes you'll be good. You dont really use the book a whole lot unless you miss class.
Best Art History Teacher I've had! I hated this subject until i took her class. If you go to class and take good notes on the lectures, thats all you need to study for her tests. But dont mess up on any of the tests, she strictly enforces her no extra credit policy, and if you miss a test, there are NO makeups. Shes hilarious to listen to!
AWESOME! I definately reccomend her class! She is probably the best teacher I have ever had!
Excellent teacher who's excited about the subject and likes to add bits of humor here and there. REALLY tough to pass, though. Make sure you attend EVERY class no matter what. Study terms and art list daily. The exam was cumulative, so it's important to cover all material.
Zaho is very interesting, engaging and funny. She really loves art and it's hard not to love it after taking this course. The tests are hard due to the images, unless you have a good memory. Study the images everyday to pass with an A. Gives no extra credit. I tried really hard and only got a B. I would still reccommend her, she's great!!
STUDY STUDY and if you skip class YOUR DEAD. I had to work my but off for my B+ but it was worth it. You cover alot of material in class and since I've had humanities on most of the stuff covered it helped alot. She is a very good teacher and keeps the class interesting. You better study and ask her for help if you need it cause if u dont hello F
I was a bit put off by the Prof. Zaho's swift attitude at first, but she is extremely knowledgeable and earnest about art and takes every chance to make everyone interested in it as well. The discussions are eye-opening and material is fascinating. As a student, you must take initiative, but if you go in with an open mind, you'll learn great stuff.
Everyone listen up, Prof. Zaho is THE teacher to take for ARH 2050. She will def. make you work hard but it pays off and she makes a heavy subject light. I studied about an hour every night 3 days before the tests and never got below a 95. She also loves the show Rome. Last word is to DEFINITLY take her class, shes a great Prof!
Your grade is based off of three tests and three tests only!!! No make-up work, no extra credit. But she is very clear with the material and is excited to be teaching this subject. She is very knowledgeable and will be more than happy to answer any questions.
Prof. Zaho is wonderful. She is so passionate about her subject and makes the class very interesting! There are three tests, and they are not terribly difficult, but you must study quite a bit as there is a lot of information. I made a B, but it was my own fault as I only studied half of my notes for the second test (which is the most difficult).
She's entertaining, so u don't get bored. u MUST go to class to pass & take LOTS of notes. i like her but she gives WAY more info than u actually need to study and doesn't narrow it down. So basically you write a book of notes- study them all- and probably on half ends up on the exams = frustrating. studying is overly time consuming
The reality is: she's not easy. But if art is what you love, she's perfect. The people who complain are the ones who don't give a crap about art and just want an easy A. So if that's what you want, forget it. Really, she's a wonderful person and teacher. She really respects and acknowledges her students and is beyond intelligent.
Awesome class. i loved professor Zaho she's so funny and helps you remember the information really well. YES there's a ton of memorization to do before exams, but she's not tricky at all. I was able to get 100 on two of the three exams so they're not hard if you put effort into it.
Take her!!! I took her for Western Art History 1 and 2 and absolutely loved it. As long as you study hard a week or two before each exam (3 exams) you'll do just fine. She makes art history fun and is full of energy and enthusiasm.
Zaho is one of the best professors i've had at UCF. Western Art History 2 is the second class i took of hers and I intend to take everyone because she's just that good.Zaho makes everything interesting and exciteing without being a cheeseball about it. Her tests aren't too bad as long as you study a little and go to class atleast sometimes.
Easiest class ever. Horrible professor (teaches as if we were in 5th grade) The test consist of this: name of work of art, location, medium, date/period, scale, artist, maybe a fact about the work, and a few vocabulary terms. If you can't get an A in this class, do yourself a favor and drop out of college.
One of the best teachers at UCF. Only 3 tests, no cumulative final. Tests are easy as long as you study and know the material. Very interesting lectures and I cant wait to take her for Baroque Art!
Prof. Zaho is really fun. She teaches really well. Just go to class and you should pass with an A. The book isnt necessary unless you dont have a great memory
Prof. Zaho was a great teacher. Not only did she know what she was talking about (and beyond), but she was interested in the subject. The way she taught made things easier to understand, and she was very straight-forward with what was expected. I strongly reccomend her : )
professor zaho is amazing. You can tell she absolutely loves teaching art. You must attend class and it can get boring when it takes 2 hours to go over six slides.
GREAT PERSONALITY!! She often tells little jokes in the lectures. She gets really excited about teaching things and does her best to get you excited too. Really makes art interesting. Had her for summer B. and she only gave 3 exames...bt requires alot of memorization. Dnt really need the book if you go to class...got an A+
Shes awesome!! So excited about teaching art. Shes so funny and her tests come straight from the lectures. Go to class!!! It can get alittle boring but she adds little jokes which is funny.
I never cared about art hist but she made it somewhat interesting. That said, Its a HARD class. Not because its impossible, but because it demands a LOT of study time. She was nice and fun but WAY too many notes, if your not a hardcore student this is not your class. If you like studying hard for a b or c, take it
What a great professor! If you're prepared for alot of memorization, I highly reccommend Zaho.
great professor! She's so much fun. There is ALOT of material but she is extremely straight forward about whats on the test. if you study hard you will get an A.
Great class! First I thought I would be bored out of my mind, but I found that it was all very interesting. Just attend the lectures, take good notes, and study hard and you'll do fine in the class.
AMAZING CLASS!!! she makes art history actually interesting! love her she is a nice and wonderful person, i once missed an exam (not on purpose) and i talked to her and she let me take it again! college professor dont normally do that!... i heart zaho!
She is a pretty good teacher, but has an attitude problem. Don't upset her and study A LOT and you'll be fine. And may I reiterate on the atttude problem...
I took her honors class. I've heard her regular classes are amazing, but this was kind of ridiculous. She rushes through the material, and then her (2)exams are bluebook, and very random, so you can never be sure what to study. She grades very harsh (the class avg. for exam 1 was 70%), and doesn't offer much help if you aren't doing well.
Great teacher! Makes the class interesting. 4 Tests, no extra credit. Just study and you will do fine. Am taking again next semester, and then again over the summer. Highly recommend.
ok bottom line is this is a class that you take if you absolutely need to take it.if you major is not art related then this class is too much work and material for you trust me. Tests are ok if you study A LOT. Material is A LOT if you dont constantly review it. She's a good teacher and the class is interesting but it's a lot of material.
Professor Zaho is an excellent teacher. I had never taken an art history class before and took it soley to get rid of a gen ed. But i ended up LOVING it and got an A-. The book is only used as a reference really. My advice is to make flash cards for each of the tests because it's ALL memorization. Grade is based on tests only. So just study!
She was an awesome teacher. You don't have to go to class but you should because the tests come straight from the notes. As long as you study hard before the tests, it will be very easy. I really enjoyed the class and she knows what she is talking about.
Great teacher! Really nice, good sense of humor. Attendance is not mandatory. She suggests that you read the book, which is true. It has to be the hardest class I've ever taken. If you dont like memorizing 500 different things for one test, this class isn't for you. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, unless you need to for your major.
I loved her class! Her tests are extremely straight forward & fair. Buy the sherlock notes, take them to class so you can follow along. Also make note cards of each image and you're golden as long as you ACTUALLY STUDY. It's a lot but she makes it interesting. I only missed an A bc I had bio, chem and pre cal in the same semester.
She is an excellent professor! If you study and pay attention, you'll get a sure A. Go to class because the test questions come directly from her lectures. Take good notes and make note cards for the exams. I loved this class!
I loved this class! Prof. Zaho makes the subject incredibly interesting. She loves the subject which shows in her teaching! The tests are a little hard, but not impossible. You need to study! You do not need the book.. you can look up everything on the internet. I recommend this class!
I loved Zaho. She has a true passion for what she teaches and it rubs off on you in her lectures. Althought my major has nothing to do with art i did not mind coming to class and actually found it interesting. But beware, the tests are ALL memorization and A LOT of it. If you're good and memorizing and have good study skills you'll do fine! I got A
she is so cool! really interesting and the work seems like an overload, but I got 2 100s and a 90 on tests. I studied really hard, but only like 2 days before. I used the slide guide and it helped me alot with the terms and seeing the pictures without having to google all of them.
so hard, pointless class for requirement, got a C, dont take it unless you like art a lot way way too much material to memorize
This class is all memorization which could be good or bad for you. I studied about an hour each day for a week before the tests and got a B+ in the class. She knows what she's talking about, and makes the class semi-interesting. The nice thing about her class is the tests are what you expect. Not a bad class overall.
All she does in class is read the book, so I stopped going after the second lecture and still got an A. She thinks she's really funny. I just found her kind of annoying. There is a ton of material, but it's all straight-forward. If you're a robot, you'll do really well.
Amazing teacher. I only took this class because it was required. She made it very interesting to learn about the art pieces and see how they correlated with history. Does require a good amount of studying but I felt it was very worth it. Take this teacher if you are taking arh 2050.
Had no prior experience with art hist, but she made it interesting. enjoyed her attempts to relate the subject to modern day things. very clear on what she expects for the tests. memorize what she tells you to study. the class is all memorization. no cellphones though, will point you out!
The class is a piece of cake. I know people who didn't attend, studied the book, and got a good grade. I personally went to every lecture, didn't study, and got a good grade. Either way the material is straight from the book, no surprises, multiple choice tests with straightforeward questions.
If you attend all the lectures, take good notes, make note cards, and study, there is no reason not to get an A. The class is extremely easy, entertaining, and the teacher is genuinely passionate about her subject.
EASYYYY!!!! first day of class she'll give this whole speech about how hard the class is ...this class is the easiest class ive ever taken ...just memorization straight from the book. Multiple choice, only three tests...doesnt get much easier
I think Professor Zaho is great! Her class is very interesting and she is a fun person, and willing to take questions in class too. It is a LOT of memorization, but if you just suck it up and do it, it is a great class to take, especially if you like history.
Awesome professor! She is very passionate about her subject and that definitely makes it more interesting to learn. Funny and down-to-Earth. Tests are hard - you have to know a LOT of material for the tests, but the tests are very straightforward from the notes. The only bad thing is she grades on a +/- scale, so a 94 is considered A-.
She definitely knows the subject area, but I was surprised at her level of rudeness. She is not very helpful, and seems to look down her nose at people that won't be getting a PhD to teach Art History in a University setting. I was truly disappointed in her as a person. Unless you play buddy-buddy, don't expect her to be very warm.
Professor Zaho is an amazing teacher! If you go to class everyday, pay attention, and take good notes, you'll do fine. I also recommend making flash cards for the tests, since it is a lot of information. During lectures she tells you the information in a way that you can remember, and she can be funny during class. I would definitely recommend he
Zaho is wonderful! She's engaging, cheery, funny, and helpful. While attendance isn't mandatory, it's in your best interest to go to every class because every day has crucial information. But it's okay- you'll want to go anyways. The book is super expensive and you never use it, so don't buy it. Exams kinda hard but definitely doable. Zaho rocks!
The course was fine, but she was not. I found her to be very condescending. If you had any questions it seemed like you were inconveniencing her. She also huffs and puffs a lot (sighing, etc.) which gets really annoying. As for the course, you'll have to memorize a lot no matter what professor you have. I recommend Francis Martin.
Prof. Zaho is great! She's funny, warm, and passionate. Attendance is mandatory but art history texts are usually lacking anyway. She is well versed in her subject and is open to student suggestions.
Prof. Zaho keeps it interesting. There is a lot of material to learn but it's not an impossible task to learn them.
Very funny teacher. She loves what she's working with. I didn't buy the book, but she rarely refers to it. Info you need on tests: (put this stuff on flashcards) Name of art, name of artist, where it's found, use, and year. I can't remember any questions on medium used or size. DO NOT MISS CLASS! You'll miss too much info even if only a day missed!
Has a great personality and very energetic but, she doesn't really teach. She explains information about a subject then branches off towards information not important for her tests. Reviews are barely helpful, MUST READ BOOK. Alot of memorization, so prepare yourself to remember dates, definitions, and names. Tests are only grades so must do well.
Pro. Zaho was a great teacher. I love art but never really had an interest in its history. After her class, my views changed and I've gained a greater appreciation for art. She's upbeat and energetic and makes the class enjoyable for all. Don't think you'll pass if you don't study though. Attend the lectures and study and you should do great.
I'm not a fan of art, i took it because it was a gen.ed. However, she made the class really interesting.. there's a lot of history. Grade is based on three 50 question multiple choice tests which she shows on a powerpoint and you have 30 seconds to answer each.I survived on flash-cards and reading the chapters the weekend before the test.I got an A
She puts her heart and soul into art history! If you like to learn then definitely take anything of prof. Zaho!
This was one of the most annoying classes I think I have ever taken. For the fact of all the material and I was seriously not interested. I think Zaho knows her stuff, very personal with her pictures of the places she has been re: Art History. Which I liked. Some information was interesting.. I just wish there were more opportunitys to learn.
Great teacher! Tip: read chapter b4 class, take notes when reading, then almost no writing notes in class, u can focus on lecture. Her stories help 2 reinforce & remember the facts. I only missed 1 ? total in entire class, and silly me, I knew the right answer.
She's pretty funny which helps remember info sometimes, but your grade is based solely on 3 exams, all of which cover TONS of info. It's hard to remember artwork, artists, dates, mediums, sizes and places for over 50 pieces of art for each test. The good thing is, they're multiple choice and not cumulative (no final).
GO TO CLASS, she does all worth while notes in class, book really not needed, grade depends on 3 exams but they only concern the material cover b4 them, she is funny at time if u miss an exam your screwed or if u plan to talk to her ASAP she knows it college not high school so just take the notes study, group or note cards are better good teacher
She is passionate about what she teaches. Study the vocab and images she gives you. I read the book but she gives you the info in class that will be on the test.
Be sure to attend class each day--lectures are very detailed. Take good notes. While she does cover in her lectures much of what is in the book, the book sometimes goes into greater detail than what is offered in lectures. Tests are pretty easy if you study your notes and read the book. Do NOT miss a test; if you miss one, you've already failed.
She makes the material fun by at least being engaging. Be prepared to scribble furiously as you try to write down everything she says. The book is almost useless (I never used it). She doesn't go by it. Everything on the test is presented to you by her PowerPoints. Key to passing is memorizing. Make flash cards. Don't skip class or tests.
Class isn't mandatory but it definitely helps, she often gives you clues on what you should know or remember. If you are good at memorizing you'll do great. It's an interesting class but definitely takes a LOT of studying. No homework, no essays, just 3 exams. If you're willing to pull an all-nighter for the exams you should get a very good grade!
She gives minus grades that keep you from graduating. She doesn't curve, and she prides herself in this. Don't take her, tried to avoid her for three years. 9 am, gross.
She's very quirky and it was nice having her for a morning class. Class was not mandatory + she talks a lot about interesting facts that you most likely won't be tested on, but it's entertaining. It's not hard at all. It's just waking up earlier. She's straightforward with her teaching. Usually Studied 2 days in advance before the test. Got an A-.
overload of material needed to be memorized, sometimes blabs on about stuff or tells stories not on test or helpful to your notes. fast paced must write very quickly and she recommends you write down word for word what she says.
Professor Zaho is a really upbeat teacher. The material is pretty interesting, but so much of it is not necessary for the tests! If you study a couple days in advance for the tests you will be fine. Your grade is dependent on 3 tests and that is it. Not a hard class, but it is just sooo much information that really isn't necessary.
I personally loved art history, but did not like Zaho. I thought, even if she was quirky and upbeat, she didn't care if we heard the material, let alone know it. I never asked a question in class because I was afraid of her snappy remarks. Sure, there is a lot of info to cover, but the entire class would be beneficial if she were more focused.
On the first day, she has a tendency of repeating the phrase 'Art is an endangered species.' This initially annoyed me, but after a week or so, she starts to really shine by actually talking in depth about the art in the book. A lot of what she says is in the textbook, but the lectures are quite entertaining with her annotations. She's a good prof.
Liked her in Survey ARH classes, but had no chance of passing with her for Italian Renaissance. Expects students to be ARH Majors or go to Grad school, and tests at that level. Never clear on what she means by context of art pieces. HARD!
LOVE LOVE LOVE dr. zaho. You must go to class and take good notes, BUT she makes the material interesting and Tests in non-survey classes are easy [provided you study and master the material given]
LOVE LOVE LOVE dr. zaho. You must go to class and take good notes, BUT she makes the material interesting. Tests are easy, provided you study and master the material. TAKE ZAHO
Humorous and keeps the class interesting. BUT NOT THE EASIEST CLASS! Make note-cards and STUDY A LOT. Don't just study the day before the exam..it's too much info to digest! Know the art pieces well and the test should be easy!
Knows her stuff! interesting lectures and clear expectations :) My only advice is STUDY THE DATES!!! I had her honors, and bombed the first test (I knew all the material except dates, but she asks for so many specific dates that it killed my score - seriously, I got every possible pt that wasn't dates. missed every date question. got a low C). Now
Bascially you just have to show up on exam day. However it is HIGHLY recommended to sit through the lecture because she goes over stuff that isn't in the book. Her tests are striaght forward: either you know it or you don't. I personally loved this class and would take it even if i didn't need it
It bothers me when ppl say ?blabs on about stuff/tells stories not on test/helpful to your notes? & ?she didn't care if we heard the material? It's obvious that Zaho is passionate about the info she is sharing in class and wants to give us as much info as possible. Great class, took her for Italian Ren. MUST put in the time but it is well worth it!
Zaho's really humorous and makes art history interesting. Although there's a lot of material, just take detailed notes and actually memorize all of the required material. It can be tough but it's definitely doable. Ultimately I got an A in the class.
Prof. Zaho is an excellent teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory, but highly recommended considering she emphasizes certain things she'll put on her tests. Class consists of 4 tests (50 MC questions each). This was a very easy class if you keep up with your notes, and put in a couple of hours the days prior to testing. Take her!
She is very humorous and a great professor. NEVER skip class she emphasizes what will be in the exams. If you take good notes it will be an easy A!
Her class was very intriguing. She aroused a lot of enthusiasm in class and sparked interest in the course material. Dates are very important in class. Review the sheet she gives out entirely. Learn the dates, cultures, time periods, and mediums of the artworks and you should be fine. Definitely read the book as review and go to her to review tests.
Just take good notes and go to every class! I studied the night before the exam and got A's on all the exams except the final got a high B, which would've been OK but she does +/- grading system so it's not a 4.0. Oh well! It's a very interesting class, she is very passionate about the subject! Wish she taught ARH 2051!
Going into this class I was pretty concerned I would fail, instead I did great. Zaho is an amazing instructor, take her for sure!
Very knowledgable about art history and is a great teacher. Can be very long winded. Leave your book at home to study, as there is no time to even glance at it in class. Take notes as quickly as possible. As long as you study you'll do fine.
It was so hard to pay attention in this class. It's SO interesting, I just am not a monring person lol. Flash cards were my saving grace in this class.
I LOVED this class. It was very straightforward: material is covered up to the exam, you're tested on it, then you move on. She explains everything very well and I found it really interesting. I wish I could take it again.
Very knowledgable regarding art and explains it well. I loved her lectures. She will tell you everything you need to know for exams, so your notes will be your study guide. Got A's on all 4 exams and I never bought the book. Definitely one of my favorite classes I've taken, it's a shame more people don't go to her lectures.
Zaho is very knowledgeable when it comes to art history. Her teaching style did not always reveal it though. She was unprofessional and disorganized. She provides an image list but doesn't stick to it. Her powerpoints were out of order and she got off topic. She was not very clear on what information would be on the test.
Unprofessional. Disorganized. Annoying. I could write an entire essay on any piece in the entire class and excel. But no. I got an F in this class. Absolutely ridiculous. I read the book cover to cover and studied for a week before finals week. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Very knowledgeable teacher but teaching technique is very boring. Gives a lot of unnecessary information which is not on the test.
This class was great! Zaho has SO much information about the artists and artworks that you just fall in love with the art and look at it differently. Definitely you have to work for your grade but well worth it if you are passionate about art and she is funny.
Dr. Zaho is passionate about the Renaissance, and truly brings the art work to life. In order to do well in this class, listen for key info and write it all down quickly (she talks fast). Make your own Powerpoints and study daily. There are three exams and a paper. Tests are straight forward and easy.
got a B could've easily been in A if I hadn't slacked. 4 non-cumulative multiple choice exams. no extra credit but no trick questions either. everything she tests is either in the book, or on web courses EVERYTHING!. lecture not necessary but narrows down content and she's fun to listen to. Dates are essential know them!
Prof. Zaho is extremely passionate about art history and presents material in a clear, amusing way. Attendance is not mandatory, but it behooves you to go. She wrote the book and highly recommends getting it; I didn't even buy it and aced every test (4). She hints at info that will be on the test; memorize that and the images & you'll be good.
Funny and makes the lectures interesting since the material can be really boring. Textbook is a big help, but you can pass without it if you take good notes and go to every class and pay attention. Its a lot of material and memorization. Only 4 tests, no final, none of them are cumulative. Shes nice and willing to help out.
You don't need the book. Just show up and take thorough notes. She usually stresses what will be on the test. Divide the material: memorize imagesdates, notes on piece and vocab separately. Lectures are informative, and class structure is very organized: she gives you a list of what's on the test, you memorize that and pass the test.
This class was so hard. The lecture is just a powerpoint of pictures and no notes and you have to write down what she says and she goes so fast. The class is SO BORING. I almost fell asleep so many times. The tests are way harder than they need to be. So much material to study each test and its hard to do well if you're not interested in the class.
This class is all memorization. I would not recommend taking it over summer since its packed into six weeks, but the online option was nice. You really need to be able to motivate yourself taking this online because its all self-teaching from the book. She is such a sweet professor and left us encouraging messages on the announcement page.
Zaho wrote her own book, so be prepared to buy the book and read. The online class had 10 quizzes, and 4 exams. Quizzes were easy, exams not so much. She only gives 35 minutes for a 50 question exam, and ask about material you would probably ignore in the book. I wouldn't recommend having her face to face, as her online class was pretty difficult.
The textbook is very necessary to pass. She wrote it herself for this course. If you go to class then she pretty much reads it for the class lecture, but since we never met for class on Fridays there was some reading ourselves. All quizzes and tests are online, but are timed so you must still know your stuff.
She does her best to keep it interesting and encourages class participation. The textbook is 100% needed, she wrote it and all her lectures come from it. The tests are pretty straight forward (no trick questions) but there is a lot of information to cover. You can't just know "the basics" about a work of art, you need to know the details!
Textbook is absolutely needed since she wrote it. If you read the chapters and take notes in class, you will do fine. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. If you are a lover of art, you will be a lover of this professor. Her excitement in her work makes it a hell of a lot easier for you to be excited about the content.
Such a great professor! One of my favorites in my whole time at UCF. She is a great presenter and I was never bored. Does not take attendance but you miss a lot of info if you don't go because tests are all from the lectures.
Love this woman!! I had an incredibly engaging semester with her and the content was simple enough. She also wrote the textbook we used in class, so the quizzes and tests are straightforward as long as you study from it.
Really frustrating teacher. I took her online over the summer and she insisted you buy the book she wrote. Tests were timed 35 minutes but you have 50 questions so get ready to speed through exams. Quizzes were easy as they were only 10 questions but you also had five minutes for those as well. She definitely does not offer retakes or extra credit.
I took the online version of Prof. Zaho's class. I was a little intimidated by the fact that she said, up front, that the online version of the class was harder. However, that doesn't seem to be the case. Study the book, USE the book, and pay attention to her recommendations. She has a great sense of humor on her tests, which I love!
This is a phenomenal online class for me. I took this class in Fall 2016. First exam was the easiest. I got a whopping 98% on the first exam! Class average was 80%-90%! My advice is to pay for the book! Its actually really easy if you take the time to look at the pictures of the artwork! The topics are really interesting esp. ancient pharoahs!
Most straightforward online class I've ever taken. Just read her textbook and you get an A on every test. No busy work, no extra junk, just read and test and repeat.
This class is rather straightforward however the teaching format is horrible. I understand that it's a online class but all you are doing is reading (literally the whole book), and taking quizzes and exams in half the time of the amount of questions. I did not enjoy this class one bit. NO, study guides, No feedback or support from professor. Poor.
KEEP IN MIND THIS IS AN ONLINE CLASS REVIEW NOT THE FACE 2 FACE. Personally this class was short but kind of hard. The quizzes were easy but her exams are tough since she really ask for those tiny details. There are no lectures just work online. I recommend you read the book carefully. I would take her in person since I hear she is great face2face.
MOST of the terms and images you need to know are on Webcourses; so yes, you may have to read the textbook to find those extra vocab because they do show up on the assignments. If you have the option, save yourself the trouble and take it online. From what I've been told, in-person requires a lot more memorization.
Wonderful professor, she's very well respected and funny. She wrote her own textbook so the lecture is exactly the same as the reading, which makes the class easy to follow and the content is extremely interesting.
unrealistic tests
The class is entirely out of the book (BUY IT YOU NEED IT) and all of the assignments are online. Zaho's lectures are fun and she's exciting to learn from, but there's really no need to go to the lectures since they're literally by the book. The timed tests look intimidating, but they're easy.
Dr. Zaho is a fabulous professor! She loves what she teaches and she does it well. Everyone I know claims you need the book to pass, but if you show up to the lectures and take decent notes, you'll be golden. Her lectures are engaging and informative and really help you appreciate the art she's showing.
She was good, it was a pretty relaxed class, very great full the tests and everything are online. however all the tests and quizzes are timed so you have to work really fast. just take it with other people and use google. good class, no complaints besides the textbook she wrote. I only went to about half the classes, everything is in the textbook.
This class is super easy, all you need is the book and you should be fine! Her lectures are very good, but you do not need to attend in order to pass with a good grade. If you read the book you will get a good grade, but going to class will make sure that you learn the material.
she's a fun lady her classes are next to useless if you have her book, the book stays on topic. I got an A- because I get fairly bad testing anxiety for online tests. Take with a group, have your notes and google ready (she doesn't care) helps with that anxiety and your grade. have notes with pictures and names, then use control F.
Online class is horrible. Doesn't give enough time for quizzes and test, and many of the questions you wouldn't know the answer to in the 46 seconds you're given.
All of the stuff you need to know is in the book and all of the tests are online, so I took it as an online course since attendance wasn't mandatory. She's funny and engaging, but the class was just too early for me. The book is oddly organized, if at all, and you need to look up some of the images otherwise the tests won't make sense.
I took it online and you need to book to pass. She puts a ridiculous time limit on exams and quizzes.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS ONLINE. She gives 4 minute quizzes with 5 questions. Wouldn't be too hard, if her activities and study material had anything to do with the quizzes or exams! The quizzes and exams are impossible, especially if you suffer from any form of test or quiz anxiety. -100/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.
The fact that this professor expects her students to answer the quiz questions in a short amount of time is unrealistic. If you get anxiety, this is not the class for you. You feel rushed and you hope that you have the the right answer because that timer will run out very fast if you have to second guess an answer. Not a art historian? Good luck!
The textbook is a necessity, all of the content is from there. Plenty of additional content (activities, vocabulary, study games) is available but is largely useless if you don't actually need to know art history. Quizzes will be a time crunch if you haven't read the chapter or taken notes so be aware if you get test anxiety.
Easy online class. I would suggest reading the textbook, writing notes, and taking the chapter quizzes at the end of the chapter. The quizzes are about 5 mins long and it's 1 question at a time so it's important to know where an image or text is referenced. Also created a doc with all the images in the book references and opened the final early.
5 out of 10. There are no study guides which wouldn't be a problem if the questions weren't so specific. 5 minute 5 question quizzes, 50 minute 50 question tests, which really raises your anxiety. She doesn't seem to be good about responding to e-mails. She wrote the book so you can't find the questions online. Writing notes took days for me too.
read or you'll fail, that's it. zaho is awesome and super accessible as well. she'll get back to you within 24 hrs. quizzes were 5 questions in 5 minutes and tests were 50 questions in 50 minutes. i got by with not taking notes and just highlighting and underlining. really fun course + i learned alot.
She doesnt seem to care about her students. Takes several days to respond to emails and is rude when she does respond. 50 min tests/ 50 questions. 5 min quizzes for 5 questions. Test anxiety? Oh well. Questions on tests&quizzes are strange and seemingly random. Take lots of notes and read the book & "ctrl f" key words. Dont recommend taking online.
Test and quiz questions are all found easily in the textbook. As long as you read the textbook, you'll be able to find all the answers for the tests easily. Because the class is set up so nicely, I never needed to contact the teacher for any type of extra clarification.
All the questions for the quizzes are in the textbooks. Take good notes, use image guide, and read the book, and you WILL get a good grade. Zaho was clear and congenial the entire class, occasionally offering time or due date extensions when she felt necessary. Wish I could take her for Spring.
She wrote the textbook so its very similar to the tests and quizzes. Its up to you how you organize the information. I did flash cards and a timeline for each chapter and it worked really well. Be sure to take the quizzes and tests where there's good wifi. You don't have enough time for slow loading.
Didn't even attend class and got an A. She says it's open notes but gives you a very limited amount of time on quizzes and exams to supposedly counteract that; if you're crafty, then it's not an issue. As long as you "do" the readings, then you should be good to go.
I took the class online over summer, and she just does not allow enough time for the questions on the exams and quizzes. Theres 10 quizzes and 4 exams and that's all that goes into your grade. You have exactly 48 seconds per question.... She doesn't even give you a full minute per question. She wrote the textbook so there is not any help online
Zaho is one of my favorite UCF professors. Not only does her class give you the opportunity to learn about Italian Renaissance art but she makes it enjoyable. This class had very few assignments (2-3 quizzes, 3 tests, and a paper), so you need to study to do well. Attendance is mandatory, especially since her tests are lecture based.
Very strict time restrictions and NO-MAKE UP. You will need to read the textbook (because shes the author of it) in order to pass her class. The material is a lot for 4 min quizzes, but the question are not difficult at all. Taking good notes and staying on top of deadline will keep you from falling behind.
In this class you must be prepared to read a lot of the material and study EVERY picture to know where it comes from because they will be on the exams. Also every quiz and exam is timed so prepare to be under pressure and have good wifi because that timer still runs even if the page is loading slow. (My main problem with the timed exams/quizzes)
read & take notes on this textbook cover to cover or you won't pass. quizzes and exams are impossibly easy IF you read the material. when testing, keep the book close by & have a google tab open for extra insurance, but be ready to type fast. 48 seconds per question, 10 quizzes, 4 exams, not cumulative. no other assignments so be careful.
There's no assignments other than quizzes and exams, and they're all on a very set schedule that doesn't move from day 1. My biggest advice: don't wait until the last day before the quizzes are due to do them. Pace yourself wisely and it'll be easy. Content itself is easy and the textbook is nicely written. Definitely need the textbook to pass.
Class all online. Every quiz is timed and only 4-5 QUESTIONS PER. Leaving you little room for error, plus its short timed (like 5 minutes). Timer will also continue to tick, even if your browser hasn't loaded the question yet. Makes you study EVERY image, as well as know minor details that most students would miss. Would not recommend to anyone.
Throws SO MUCH information at us. every class its"Alright there's so much to talk about, don't know where to start" then proceeds to fly through 5-6 pages of notes. Doesn't have power points online. leaves class early every other week for meetings, cutting our class short. No study guides. Tests have about 15% of what we write down for notes.
If you love life, dont take this class cause it will ruin your life. I was a art history minor and LOVE ART HISTORY but im a BAD test taker and did not like the way things were taught, thats what destroyed me... Classes were 1 hour and 15 minutes and she goes so fast.. I studied really hard and got a 55%. Not a fun elective/ dropped my minor -_-
Zaho is the best professor I've ever had. She makes you so interested in the material and is an amazing lecturer. If you just want an A handed to you then this isn't the class for you and I would suggest others in the department but it's so worth it to take her. She is so so intelligent, hilarious, trendy, and just all around the best.
Zaho is extremely knowledgeable, fun to listen to and has a great sense of humor. Her class is enjoyable, but do not plan to stay up all night before then do well in her class. She does not provide any images online. Take notes on a internet computer and collect pics during lectures so you are studying the right ones. Bring your image list to class
Dr. Zaho is great. She can make any subject interesting because of her levels of passion and enthusiasm. Her exams are easy as long as you come to class, take notes, and study the materials beforehand. She's extremely thorough in her lectures and gives you more than enough to truly learn the material.
I took ARH2050 online and she had opened all the tests and quizzes so I finished within the week. It was super easy, just make sure you go to the library and copy the pages of her textbook. However, the quizzes and tests were kind of hard if you didn't know any of the information so make sure you know the dates and medium of the paintings.
I took it as an online class during the summer session so it might be different during a full term but you are only graded on quizzes and tests. The tests are all timed. You have to read the book in order to answer the questions. You would think it is an easy class but it is not! If you read you will be fine, I had no problem getting an A.
Tough class. Recommend taking it online. Make sure to do a test once a week, if able. Read over the chapters before taking a quiz or exam. Put tabs on each starting page of each chapter to help navigate for information. TESTS HAVE VERY LIMITED TIME. I recommending doing all quizzes first, then do each exam. All assignments due at end of semester.
Really clear about her grading, the topics, and the material. 10 quizzes, 4 tests. About 1 min per question on all assignments. The textbook is the only way to do any good on the work, but if you read the book all of the details on the pieces are there. For this semester she had all of the assignments open to do at our own pace
2050H was an honor class so she expected a lot from us but she is a very dedicated professor. The class is mostly lectures but her lectures are always so interesting. Three exams are hard but doable, with no multiple choices. Online quizzes are easy and only 5 questions. Must take notes and study a lot to pass.
Great professor, really enjoyed this class. Very knowledgable about the field and can feel the passion. There was a mix on in class and online quizzes and tests, and they were mostly on basic facts about different works of art and some contextual knowledge questions. Fun class for GEP if you like art or history! Graded attendance, 3 free skips.
It was an easy class, but the timed quizzes of only 5 mins, or the exam that consisted of 50 questions and you only have 45 mins that covers 2-3 chapters ( depending on the length) there wasn't any papers or anything in this class which was nice, but I wish she didn't have to test on the small details that we don't see. Her book is useful, so rent.
Took the online class. 10 quizzes, 5 questions, timed for 5 mins each. It's not even on the stuff you write down (like dates or names) it's obscure BS that you wont know and can't look up in time. Those count as 40% of your grade. Then you have 4 Exams, 40 questions each with 2 mins for each question, 60% of your grade. PICK ANOTHER TEACHER.
Quite possibly the most unprofessional, unhelpful professor Ive encountered. Wouldnt let me retake an exam after being rushed to the hospital during class. Emailed the night it was due asking what documentation I can send to retake the exam. She was skeptical the whole time and would not accept my EMERGENCY ROOM documents. Ended up failing.
It's obvious that she cares a lot about what she's teaching but sometimes that isn't a good thing. She talks extremely fast, won't let you record lectures, and goes off the book almost every single day, so if you dont write fast you're out of luck. Her tests are impossibly hard and she gives you a limited time to answer, waaay too limited.
PRO: She was easy to have as a professor, you can do it at your own pacing, due to her having the course open for the whole semester, and she didn't care if you finished it the right away as long as you submitted it before the end of the semester. CONS: So much to read, and if you don't have the time management to have, it's quite tricky.
After every chapter is a quiz, it's 5 minutes for 5 questions and some of the questions range into history/geography. after 2-3 chapters is an exam (25 questions, 30 minutes) questions can be extremely specific, reading is not optional and must be done. No interaction with students outside 1 zoom call at the beginning of the semester.
10 quizzes 40%, 4 exams (non-cumulative) 60% of your grade. Reading or at least skimming the book is necessary. Exams and quizzes are open book but timed so you should go through the material before. I finished the whole class in less than a month and if you really tried you could probably be quicker. Everything is due at the end of the semester.
Really easy class, meetings not necessary to attend. I liked the textbook we had to read. She let the class finish the course at their own pace and all the assignments were open until the very last day of class. I didn't have much interactions with the professor but when I did she was super kind!
because of covid, the class was structured online at a "work at your own pace" curriculum. we were assigned 10 quizzes and 4 exams, and everything was due on the last day of the course. all of the answers were found in the textbook, so the textbook is mandatory.
Need more time for the quizzes. I am a bit slower than other people and 30 minutes for a 25 question exam is not enough time.
Everything due at end of semester, only 5 minutes for her 5 question quizzes (same ratio with exams) so I struggled with the time limits. I never purchased the textbook and I STRUGGLED. All assignments come from this, and there is no time to look things up for quizzes even though it's open note. If you read the text it should be an easy A tho!
Class is very straightforward and the material is interesting. 10 Quizzes (lowest one dropped) and 4 exams. All timed, but open book. You work at your own pace with everything due at the end of the semester. I was able to finish the class in four days. You will need the textbook. There's also optional videos and games to supplement the readings.
This class was an easy A. I took this course online and there are no assignments, just 10 short quizzes, and 4 exams. Work on your own time, everything is due on the same day at the end of the semester. I finished the course a week early. The book is your main source of info so it is mandatory.
very easy class but time consuming. 10 quizzes (lowest dropped) and 4 exams; all timed; all open book; all due on the last day. lots of reading, but the material is interesting. just take notes (even on the smallest details) and include pictures of the art in your notes. you can easily use ctrl+f and finish the tests well before the timer runs out.
Took her class during the Summer B term, every week there are 2 quizzes along with a test. If you keep up with the reading it should be easy.
There wasn't any interaction with her throughout the semester. There were two deadlines so you had the freedom to submit most assignments whenever it was convenient. As long as you have the book, the quizzes and exams are easy.
Never interact with the professor, the book used is written by her and questions are literally taken from it so read. Online version of the book is best for finding information quickly. ALL quizzes/tests are timed and 1 chance to take. Simple set up easy to finish early if you put in the work. Open book/open note and not proctored.
Professor Zaho was extremely helpful whenever I contacted her. Ten quizzes (the lowest one was dropped), and four exams. No final exam. Questions were reused, and everything was open book. Textbook is necessary, but it has short chapters and the reading is interesting. Just make sure to highlight all the definitions.
You never interact with the professor, There's an ebook you have to buy (unless you find the pdf of it) because this is where all the information for the quizzes and exams come from, There's only two deadlines where half of the coursework is due. Overall very easy class, you just have to read the textbook, memorize images and definitions.
She is the best! In person, Dr. Zaho has a relaxed and fun lecturing style that makes it very easy to be interested in whatever material she's teaching. Her criteria is straightforward, if you know the material you've passed the class.
The class structure is simple: Lectures are expansions of the reading. Every chapter has an online quiz. I strongly recommend making flashcards of the image list. Makes studying for the exams much easier. Professor Zaho is incredibly knowledgeable, especially after traveling to many of the sites herself. The lectures are entertaining and energetic
Pretty easy class, though tests are very specific (small details are quizzed rather than big ideas). Wasn't particularly engaging, but if you just want to get this credit done, this class will work for you.
I have never felt compelled to write a review for a professor until now. She is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about Italian Renaissance Art. I am so inspired by her passion, but her exams hurt my brain so much. They are so specific. I studied for three days and don't think I passed this one. I want to cry and melt into my seat & disappear
Took her online class. Only 2 due dates for all her quizzes and exams, and nothing else is graded. You get plenty of time while taking them, and she doesn't lock Webcourses. It's extremely simple and straightforward; read the chapter, take the quiz, repeat. Great if your looking for a stress-free class for credit.
This class was very easy.
There are no assignments just straight up quizzes online and in person. The quizzes online time limit are unfair 20Q in 20 Minutes! that is crazy. In person quiz are base off the images she puts on screen and we had to type and write fast cause she talks like she is always in a rush and she gets made when we need to ask a Q? Don't take her class.
This class is nothing but a list of exams that you do one after the other, you can easily get it done a week or two into the semester. No point in actually reading the book though because the exams only ask very specific, trivial details with no study guide. Exploiting the fact that LockDown Browser isn't used is near required.
Class is just a setup to buy her own book that costs a significant amount of money, and is quite difficult but not impossible to acquire otherwise. The class has one due date, and you can complete it in a day if you really want to. Exams are stupidly specific questions and don't mean anything, and nigh impossible to complete honestly.
The class is pretty easy if you choose your time wisely. Everything is due on the same day at the end of semester so I wouldn't suggest waiting last minute. In my opinion, I barely used the textbook she wrote but I would definitely get it to understand the chapters better. The entire class is just quizzes and there are 4 exams.
Easy A. Basically just quizzes and 4 exams. No due dates, no papers, no lockdown browser. Finished the class in a week. Made the rest of my CS course load much easier. Wish all of my classes were like this.
Everything is due by the same due date, at the end of the semester, but you can complete the entire class in a couple days. Only 4 exams and a few quizzes. She says to buy her overpriced book, but I feel like you could look up all the questions. I recommend splitting the online book with a friend, which is what I did.
An easy A! Mandatory textbook that gives you word-for-word answers to the exams/quizzes. You take them all at your own pace since they are due at the end of the semester. I thought the topics themselves were really fun to learn about!
Had negative experiences with Professor Zaho before this class. Despite her passion for teaching, she's disorganized, goes off-topic, speaks rapidly, and lacks time management during exams. Unhelpful with questions and resources for students.
Zaho is just mean
I just started this class. I am giving her 1 star because she forces us to buy her book, which she wrote. That book is ridiculously expensive; not even my 1200-page algorithms book is that expensive.
Her class is excessively focused on tests and lectures, with exams consisting of fill-in-the-blank questions where you're given only 30 seconds to respond. The pace of her speech is rapid, and she often quizzes you on trivial details.
Majority of the grade is from exams on class lectures. Professor talks very fast but the lectures are interesting. Hard exams, very short time and won't go back if you miss a question. The 10 chapter quizzes & 10 chapter games aren't too hard. The image list needs images to go with them! Textbook is a pdf. She's incredibly strict about attendance.
My low rating for this professor stems from the mandatory, ridiculously expensive book that we have to purchase in order to complete the assignments. This class is just a facade to fill her pockets. Other than that, this class is extremely easy. I did all the assignments in about 6 hours (no essays, just short and long quizzes). Easiest A ever.
finished class in 5 hours probably not good if you care about learning art history
Super easy course but she wrote the textbook. Just refer back to it and you'll be fine. Really sweet professor when responding to emails.
This class is a breeze! The material is straightforward, and the online quizzes and exams can be completed quickly. The required textbook is pricey, but using resources like unstuckstudy ai alongside it makes studying a lot more efficient. An easy A if you stay on top of the work.
Don't buy her ridiculously overpriced textbook she wrote. Just research each topic and art piece and save your money. Entire online class is just tests and quizzes. Super easy but just save your money on this class.
so easy, just take this class if you want to finish a class and get a gep credit in no joke one day. its all quizzes, no writing at all. you can fifnish it all in one day, the due date is at the end of the smester. she says you have to buy her textbook but i didnt , just use quizlet. highly recommend taking this class.
Sucks you have to buy her overpriced textbook she wrote, but still will be the easiest class you've ever taken. Can finish the whole course in a day.
all modules were open with all of them having one due date which was at the end of the semester. If you really wanted to finish the entire class in 2-3 days you could have. If you actually want to LEARN the subject at hand you have to put in your part and go out your way to learn about it. Modules contained a short game and a 5-10 question quiz.
This class was RIDICULOUSLY easy, no joke the easiest class I have ever taken. There are 10 game assignments that take 3-5 minutes to do, 10 quizzes which are directly from the textbook, and 3 exams but those are the same as the quizzes. There are time limits for the quizzes and exams but it's the easiest A, so if you need an elective, take it!
Dr. Zaho's passion for art is clear in every page of the textbook she wrote. This is one of the easiest online classes ever(as long as you take notes). There are 10 modules in the course. One quiz and game per module, and 4 non cumulative exams(including the final). Nothing's due till the end of the semester but you'll finish before then.
You have to buy her expensive textbook for the course but every quiz and test answer is in there, often word for word. I finished the entire course in less than a week with a 98. If you're willing to buy the textbook, it is a pretty good, easy A course and I would definitely recommend.
took art history online with her and it's basically a free A. really a sigh of relief to have an easy GEP that i didn't have to worry too much about while taking drawing at the same time. ppl complain about the textbook but i just borrowed it from a friend so i didn't pay squat. but id be wary contacting her, her email responses are really rude.
This is literally the easiest class you can take at UCF. I finished the entire thing within a week. There are 10 assignments (literal games), 10 quizzes, and 4 exams. The stuff is timed, so you do have to be quick but all of the answers come straight from the textbook (buy an online copy so you can search the content and it's cheaper).
As long as you're good at pacing yourself, you'll pass. Everything is open from Day 1 and is due at the end of the semester. It was a lot of reading but the content was interesting tbh. Lastly, I did ask for help with an activity because it wouldn't open for me but she just told me nobody else was having that problem so I just took the zero on it
If you read the textbook you will succeed in this class. A majority of this class is really just reading and being able to retain the information. It's pretty easy.
Easy class that you could prob finish in a day, all assignments are due on the same day. Just a short game and quiz for every chapter, and four exams. No final.
This professor has to be by far, the most difficult and most challenging professor I have faced in my academic career. Talks way too fast, lacks empathy and treats adult students like juvenile delinquents if you speak your mind or show any frustration. Would not take if you're full time student. Never again.
Professor Zaho is great. She shows her passion for art history and you learn a lot in her class. Anyone who complains about how hard her class and exams are has never been academically challenged. Go to lectures, take notes, and study and you'll be fine.
Extremely easy class, with all assignments being open until the last week of the semester. You have to pay for the textbook to do all the assignments, though, but I never bought it. You don't have to buy it, just utilize online resources. I finished this class in a day, free A- (only disadvantage she uses +/-)
Professor Zaho is extremely passionate about art history and her lectures are a lot of fun, since she has a more personal/informal approach to studying artwork. She does ask for consistent attendance and participation from her students, as the exams are all lecture-based, but as long as you show up, take good notes and study, you'll do well.
Took online, very easy, everything due at the end of the semester, probably only worked on this class 2 days of the semester to finish the entire class with an A-
Don't wait till the last few weeks to get the work done. Very straight forward on reading and taking quizzes.
If you have a brain this class is light literally 10 games and quizzes and like 4 tests it took me maybe 3 hours.
Very easy class, she wants you to buy her textbook but all the answers for everything are in there. Very tedious at points but its great. Work at your own pace, everything was due in bulk at different times.
Besides the expensive textbook, taking this course with Professor Zaho is about as good as it gets. The tests, or rather "Festivals of Knowledge", are the core part of the grade. The other assignments are very easy and quick. If you're a good test taker, this course is beyond easy. Even if not, I would recommend it.
The canvas is organized well enough and also allows you to complete the class at your own pace before exams which I appreciate a bunch. I didn't really have much of a problem with this class except that I felt that some of the quiz questions were asking nitpicky things, but I guess that's just college in general. Solid course overall.
