Dr. Borkowski is an awesome professor. I have learned so much from her and she makes the classes really interesting!

She's very nice, but she piles on the homework. I spend more time doing assignments for her class than all of my other classes combined.
Dr. Borkowski is a decent teacher. She covers an entire chapter or two per class. I had a 4 hour class and we still didn't get to all of the information on the study guide. She is all over the place during her lecture, not very organized. She thinks that you know how to do everything. Very hard but very nice professor.
interesting class, but its hard. for each 2 hour class at least a whole chapter is covered. study guides help for the tests but you still need to study your ass off. shes really nice and a good teacher but expects you to know things before class and gives pop quizzes. so read the chapter before class
Not good.
I had her for a four hour class, and I spent most of it wanting to stab my eye with my pen. She's unorganized and goes over things that are easy to comprehend, but fails make it through all of the material that you would otherwise probably like to cover. Exams are easy, but sometimes have poorly worded questions.
Shes new so I think shes still learning what works and what doesn't, overall the class is very interesting and shes very helpful with any questions I've had. She also is very interesting and I've really enjoyed this class. Its really not hard as long as you are willing to pay attention and study.
I have learned more about Psychology then I ever though I would. Sure, she's a little disorganized, but she gets the information out to you. If you have any questions, just ask her. The tests are a little difficult, but if you study, then you should be fine. You have to study to pass this class.
She expects us to know everything on our own. She never explain what she wants from us, just assumes we know it. And when she "lectures" she goes off on crazy tangents that have absolutly nothing to do with what she was teaching, which wont be on the test anyway.
She's a wonderful teacher.A little disorganized but she's new.She expects a lot from u. Make sure u take good notes,read the ch. before class (it helps!TRUST ME!!) know figures!I had her for 4 hrs,she'll give you lots of breaks. STUDY STUDY for her tests. She'll do 4-5 chapters on a test. Be sure to use ur study guides she gives u.take h2o n snacks

She is tough. I took her class her first semester of teaching so our class got the crappy end of the stick. She is nice and understanding, but as far as teaching, she's hard to follow.
Definitely not an easy A class.To get a decent grade on test, you have to study lecture notes, book notes, study guides and figures. She does make the class interesting.I had her for 1hr 50min. and class went by very fast,but tends to talk about things for a long time that will not even be on the test.MAKE SURE TO READ CHAPTER BEFORE CLASS,QUIZZES!
This class is very hard. You have to do a lot of reading and taking notes on your own in order to do good. She's not a horrible teacher, but expects a lot for a 100 class. I think as she gets more experience she'll do a lot better.
Don't take this class in a four hour chunk.. she doesn't let you out early EVER. It's a fun class and the information is interesting, but you have to read a lot and there are a lot of pop quizzes. Her exams are tough but she offers extra credit after most exams. There are two papers and they are really hard but she grades fairly.
I think that Dr. Borkowski is an awesome Professor. She is very helpful if you just ask and will listen to what you have to say. I have learned so much in this class that I will definately take another psych class bc she makes things really interesting.
didnt talk about the book AT all but the exams were bases on it - very tough exams w/ 50 MC and 10-12 short answers. she is a really nice prof and i learned a lot, but her teaching style is just kinda strange
Very unorganized. Lectures did not cover the book at all. Tests were rediculously long....about 15 long essays, and 35 multiple choice. She knows her stuff but is terrible at teaching it to others.

Terrible teacher. Nothing she talks about in class is on the test.. its a 10% from lecture to 90% text. If you like reading and being very bored in class, take her.
She teaches you a lot, but the tests can seem ridiculous if you haven't prepared (very) well. The two formal papers aren't hard at all. Be sure to read the chapter that's assigned!
Margaret was a hard teacher, but she challenged me in a whole new way. She taught me to think like a true scientist She didn't talk about the chapters from the book much, which all the exams were pretty much based on . Sometimes she offended people with her views and her comments. I would take again, she'll make ya learn like you never have before
She's an extremly hard teacher! She's also very un-organized. Make sure you read the required chapter, although most of what was on the test seemed to come from the lecture, she likes to give pop-quizes. Tests aren't really that hard, I found. If you like to work you'll like this class, if not don't take her, you'll hate it!

She is a little hard, but she does exactly what professors are supposed to do - challenge you. If you want to LEARN something, take her...if not, don't take her. Definitely read what's assigned & the 2 papers she assigns aren't that difficult, as long as you attempt them. Just give some effort. If you want an easy A, don't take her.
i read the text once over before each exam and didn't have any difficulty getting A's or B's. i put a decent amount of work into the papers (2-3 hours) and had no trouble getting A's on them. when i had a question, i emailed her or asked after class and got a very clear answer. not sure what everyone's griping about here.
This lady was horrible. You can't follow anything she says. Very unorganized, very unclear. Not worth taking. If its down to the core and you absolutly need the course... wait until you can get a better professor.

The tests were very hard. I thought she was very good at helping students. Whenever I emailed her she always wrote back the next day.
I have no idea what that student is talking about, "she never returns emails". I emailed her several times and always had a quick response. She is an excellent teacher. Her course may be tough, but you'll learn a lot.
I did most of the reading and attended most of the lectures. I didn't study too much for the tests or have that difficult of a time w/ the papers, and I got an A in the class pretty easily.
This lady is very bad, although she is easy on the eyes. She never emails anyone back and unless you are pursuing a career in psych she doesnt really care what you do. When people dont show up she gives out homework and when they are there she doesnt. I would not reccomend her unless......well I would never reccomend her. She is very unorganized.
She is hyper. She paces the classroom constantly and drinks atleast 2 mt. dews a class. her tests are very hard and you need to study alot for them. the tests are hardly on the material we cover.

I liked Dr. Borkowski a lot. I don't really know what everyone is ranting and raving about. She tells you up front to read the text and that she will normally talk about things that aren't in the book but will be on the test. Maybe if you were to pay attention in class you would catch her saying that and wouldn't have so much to complain about
I really enjoyed Dr. Borkowski's class although I was shocked when we had to purchase our "syllabus" which looks like a book itself. The class really wasn't that bad though. She was very nice and you can tell that she enjoys teaching the class. I would take it again and other classes taught by her.

sweet teacher, cares about each of her students, and has a kind heart. covers a lot of great material and the quizzes are fair as long as you study for them. i'd take another class with her, without a doubt. she's a very nice person, and i'd recommend her any day.
Hands down the best psych teacher I've had a SVSU. (heck the best teacher). Very helpful, kind, and likes everyone. You will not regret taking her. Her style even included rating her in a personal interview for extra credit in a 1on1 session...when no one else is asking! Great person, teacher, mentor and very easy on the eyes GUYS!!

This class is fast-paced but very do-able. Reading the textbook is essential to a high grade. You should buy the study guide and do those practice quizzes plus the on-line practice quizzes and you will have no problem on the real quizzes. (Sometimes the questions are identical.) Extra credit is offered, and the quizzes aren't too difficult.
This is a very intense class... it is fast pace but do-able if you keep up to pace. She is very helpfull and offers extra credit. She makes class enjoyble... she has a lot of energy but makes the class worth going to.... you get to correct your quizzes which is a plus and she drops 2. I highly recommend her if you are up to the challege.
Good Professor. You have to go to class. Lecuture can be boring. But she teaches you alot.

She's on a bit of a powertrip, but she's not a bad teacher at all. She really does want you to learn the material and goes over anything you don't understand. Just show up for the quizzes and turn in a majority of the random assignments and you should be fine.

Probably the hottest professor I've had so far...I really only went to class to look at her. Lectures were confusing..and most of the material covered in class weren't on the quizzes..WEIRD.
Everyone else that took this class will agree that this was the worst class by far...the material would have been interesting but Dr. Borkowski was so unorganized and her tests were ridiculously irrelevant to her lectures (if thats what you call a lecture). You are left in the dark until...well I'm still left in the dark and it is after finals!
I hated Psyc, but Dr. Borkowski was the cutest and nicest teacher Ive had. She cares a lot about her students (the extra credit sessions) and also gives plenty of extra credit. If you bomb all of the quizzes and do the extra credit, youll be fine! I STRONGLY advise taking her!!
She tells you right out, if you're out for an easy A, drop her class. She understands that it is a hard class and provides tons of extra credit and study material. Her tests are directly from the book website. If you read the chapter, the only reason you have for going to class is to stare at a cute little woman for a few hours.
She seemed to be ok outside of the classroom. Very nice lady, but couldn't focus on what we were learning about. She would waste 10 minutes on something that we didn't need to know. Her weekly quizes are extremely hard-make sure to study for them.

By far the worst professor I have ever had at SVSU. She can't stay on topic and she was never up to date on grades. I didn't know until the last week of class what my previous tests grades were!! Disorganized and hard to follow in lecture.

Dr. Borkowski is very passionate about this class, but she has some problems staying on target. Very disorganzied! Do NOT take this class unless you have A LOT of time to dedicate towards it!!! Her tests are hard & you have to know EVERYTHING, plus there is A LOT of reading!!! I would only reconmend if you don't have a life!
Dont even try to follow what shes talking about in class. There is no point. Might as well study for the extremely hard quizzes that are taken once a week... If you want an A dont even bother with her class... it wont happen
I enjoyed her class. We did have a quiz every week, but we were able to retake the quizzes and get half a point for each one that was fixed and correct. She answered questions and helped you understand the material. There was a review before the final and everything that she talked about at the review was on the final. It is possible to get an A.
Amazing professor! =) She has a passion for teaching and the material is really interesting. She is a nice person and is willing to help her students. Plus she lets you fix the question you got wrong on the exams which helps you learn the material better and boosts your grade! =) I highly recommend her!!
Margaret is one of the best teachers I have had so far at SVSU. She is very understanding, knows what she is talking about, and fair. Her lectures are very clear and she is very passionate about her interest of study! Highly Recommended! =]
i cant stand that woman sometimes. i understand this is college but must we take a quiz every week!!
Her tests are ridiculous. Expect at least 60-70 multiple choice, and 8-10 in depth essay questions. She gives no guidance as to what to study for. So you study everything. You must must must go to class, if you dont plan on falling behind and being lost. She knows she is a hard tester, but fails to give a rip.
She is crazy... she doesnt know what she is talking about and mispelled Psych on day..she lectures for a day and a half and has one question about it on the class. She jumps around in the notes and whenever she is asked a question she says im going that later so i dont want to talk about it now but never goes back to cover it.
Might as well just do everything on your own. Her lectures dont help not one bit on the quizes you have every week.
By far my favorite professor! I read on here that people thought she was tough and didn't stay on topic, she does wander but she always covers the material. They also said getting an A was impossible, I disagree I had no trouble getting an A-. If you have an A- she lets you out of the mid-term and final. Doesn't offer that much extra credit though.
Great teacher, I would strongly recommend. She has a test every week, but offers 3 extra credit session to gain a 1/2 point back on questions missed on tests. If you have an A in her class you do not have to take the final exam.

This is a pretty tough class. You have to work for a good grade. The lectures are only somewhat helpful. The studyguide is optiomal but i HIGHLY recommend it. That's pretty much what got me an A. There is a quiz every week and they can be really difficult, but do good on them and you may be exempt from the midterm and final.

Hardest teacher I have taken at Saginaw, gives really hard quizzes every week and doesn't give many other opportunities to bring your grade up. Not recommended.

Book and class materiel is fairly easy. The organization of the class was very piece-meal and hard to follow, however. Dr. B is a good professor.
Professor Borkowski presented the material well. It was expected to read the material before hand and the lectures were to clarify what you have read. She is open to answer any questions in class. The lectures were energetic and interesting. Overall I recommend her as your psyc professor.
This teacher is really nice. The issues I have with her is that she goes off on a lot of tangents. It was hard for me to pay attention at the beginning of the semester and it still is. As long as you read the assignments you should do well on the quizzes.

Best professor I have had yet at SVSU. She is really nice and extremely helpful. If you do all the study guides and take good notes you will do well. For our class, as long as you had an A you didn't have to take the midterm or final. Definitely recommend her for any psych class!

This class was great! Although the material is hard she really makes sure you understand what is going on. She is always willing to help you out and hard work through the semester pays off when you don't have to take the final. I can't wait to take her again for PSYC 453.
Margaret is very helpfull and nice. This psych class teaches you alot. There are some reading assignments and 3 exams, but she is somewhat of an easy grader. Our class didn't have a textbook, but, she may have found one for future classes. There was only 1 project and 2 mini papers. If you attend class and pay attention, you will do fine.
Had her for psych. Lots of reading but totally worth it! Type of class where if you do the work then you remember the stuff even out of class.
Class was kind of interesting, although her notes can be very hard to follow and can get quite boring after 2 hours. 3 tests, a paper (not horrible) and some homework assignments. Good amount of class discussion. I would take a class of her's again.
I love her! She will do all she can to help you pass. Also she make psychology seem very interesting. She loves teaching it and she is really silly. As long you read the book and study her lecture outlines you will pass her quizzes and exams.

All around horrible professor. So unorganized. Doesn't have power points, or any visuals, and is just completely all over the place. The only thing that goes in the grade book is quizzes. Would not recommend her.. not good at all. Completely changed my views on psychology in a bad way.
Dr. Borkowski is a wonderful professor. She makes class super interesting, and she will have you laughing. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities and as long as you read the modules assigned you will do well on her tests. I highly recommend her.
She is a great professor. The way she taught made the material easy to understand. There is alot of information that you need to know for the exams. The only complaint I have is that she only gave us 1 1/2 weeks to work on our final paper that was 20% of our grade (this was in the spring but may be different in fall/winter). I would take her again.
IF YOU DONT LIKE QUIZZES DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ! She is a horrible teacher, she doesn't explain anything and moves to fast. If you are a quiz taker do not even consider her as a teacher. This is a horrible and boring class, do not attempt to take her class!
Hardest professors ever. Gives a million quizzes and overloads with work. Very inconsiderate, talks about people. She makes college so hard. Do not take her if you have more than 2 other classes. Her class takes a life load of studying.
Dr. Borkowski is a phenomenal professor, and this is coming from someone who never read or studied really and I still pulled a B average, She is fast paced, but the entire course regardless of who you take will be fast paced. Take advantage of her office hours if you're struggling, & pay attention during lectures. She offers a pretty good EC deal.
She is a fair grader and will help you if you are in need. I would advise her. The course itself is a heavy workload course. She can get off topic sometimes with her notes, she however does give a outline which is really helpful.
Whether you're taking this class as a prerequisite or if you're considering this as your major, I definitely recommend her. She is so nice, and knows her content, but she makes it understandable to any learning level. For there to be so much content, she actually fits it all in well and in a reasonable manner. Take her. She's gorgeous too.

Borkowski get's a bad reputation for being a tough professor. It's not her, it is the class. In any psych class you will have to work hard. Borkowski is incredibly willing to help you if you ask. She works hard to keep her lectures clear and entertaining. I would definitely recommend her.
Quizes, quizes, and more quizzes. Prof. Borkowski is very fun and energetic herself, however she makes the class unenjoyable with how many quizes she gives, which is at least one a week. You barely have time to learn the material and ask questions before you have a quiz and move on to the next subject.
Do well on the almost weekly chapter quizzes and you won't have to take the midterm or final. Ask questions and for examples. She'll emphasize the important stuff, but don't expect to get an A without reading and studying a lot from the text.
The weekly quizzes aren't as bad as they seem. If you do good on them, you can get out of the midterm and final. If you study only from lecture notes you'll get an easy B, is you study with the book its an easy A. She's gorgeous and she is really approachable; I still have a relationship with her outside of class. I'd recommend her, loved her class
Hated Borks class. Lectures were long. Quizzes have absolutely nothing to do with what she talks about in class. Study for quizzes from the book and you should be fine. Really tough course.
The class is without a doubt an easy A. You will need the book and the study booklet will save you time in studying. There's a quiz every week. However, I never actually studied and left the class with a c+ she also is super awesome!
Lots of extra credit opportunities. Hard to not get an A. I had over a hundred percent. If you put the work in she is willing to work with you. A great professor all around and very knowledgable! If you do well on quizzes you won't even have to take the mid-term or final. About half of my class got out of it for an idea of head count.

It's not that she was a bad professor. She knew her stuff and presented it in a way with her quizzes and many assignments that seemed easy. However, her "quizzes" were more like tests and she even told us we should be studying 10+ for a 20 question quiz. Definitely expected too much for a 100 leve class. Take someone else if you can.
Dr. Borkowski was a great professor, but don't expect this class to be easy. She did a really great job explaining everything she taught and you also have to read the book. One of the professors I've learned the most from! Would definitely recommend!
I liked the topics covered, but not the set up. Borkowski is nice, but I found her lectures "meh". She gives a multiple-choice quiz over roughly 50 pages every week so there is a lot of material to study in a short time period. My advice: prior to class, take notes on the txtk, bring questions to class, then start memorizing your notes.
Gave us a quiz every week on the material we just covered. Easy to pass. Take basic notes and you should be golden. She helped me get my degree off the ground and convinced me to major in Psych, so I might be bias, but I really enjoyed her.
Dr. Borkowski is very unorganized and all over the place. She expects too much for Psych100. She does not give enough time for students to learn the material with the amount she gives out (a ton!). She gives quizzes every week that are 60% of your grade. Much tougher class than it should be.
She is a nice lady, but can be unorganized in lecture. Most of what you are tested on will come from the book. Lots of reading and quizzes- the class moves very fast. Usually 1 or 2 homework assignments for every subject, there are 2 or 3 extra credit opportunities. You don't have to take the midterm or final if you have an A in the class.
She is really nice and will help you if need be. Her lectures are a little unorganized and I felt confused without a study guide but she started using them at our classes request. Can tell she loves Psychology and wants you excited about it too, which I really appreciate. Just expect to work hard and actually read the chapters.
If you have to take Psych 100 for a gen ed do NOT take it with Borkowski. She expects way too much out of a level 100 course. Lectures are barely ever on topic. The only way I did well was by getting the study guide book and using that to study for the weekly quizzes. I HIGHLY recommend getting one.

Dr. Borkowski was a little unorganized but it didn't take away from the quality of the course. Not easy, but you will definitely learn something. Very caring, solid choice if you want to build a relationship with faculty.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Borkowski! I did have to work for my grade though. She is a tough grader and I had to readjust my time management skills taking this as a freshman. Be ready to work hard and read ALOT. Her lectures are unorganized, and her exam material and quizzes come from the book. I learned alot and I don't regret the work I put in!
Her notes were disorganized and hard to follow. She graded critically on essays and assignments. She is passionate about the subject, but very unrealistic Always threatened class with quizzes. People came to class stressed. Grade depends on a few things, even though she added some at the end to help people pass.
You cannot miss a day if you want to pass with a good grade. She grades tough and there is no excuses. Have any life problems? Does not matter to her. Psychology is my passion and I'd never take this professor again. She does not seem to want to help the student or care about there overal wellbeing.
Her lectures are all over the place and you never really understand what is going on because everything is all over the place. I love psychology and transferred out of her class because I was not taking anything away from the class, and I really needed to learn it. DO NOT take her. Transfer out if you can!!!
If you keep a 93 or above in the class, you get out of the midterm and final. However, there are quizzes almost every week which require lots of studying and reading. She explains material well in her lectures but does not cover all of the material that is on the tests and quizzes. It is possible to do well if you put in the time and effort.
You will have a three lectures and then a quiz at the end of every third lecture. You have to read the chapter because she wont go over some things in lecture. I read the chapter, took notes, made flash cards and still got a C in every quiz. I would not recommend her.
Her class was decent a lot of quizzes but you can get our of the midterm and final if you have a high enough grade leading up to it. Quizzes can be touch and require studying.
This was my hardest class of the semester. Participation matters, so be sure to engage in lecture and ask a lot of questions. Quizzes are sort of difficult, so study hard. Overall, I learned a lot in her class and it was pretty fun. I would definitely take her again.
I have taken many online courses because of their flexibility. I travel a ton, so this is important to me. She would not allow me to work ahead. Only due in a small 24 hour time frame. Very hypocritical because she has canceled office hours a few times. She can cancel known meetings but I can't work ahead on assignments? ITS AN ONLINE CLASS.
I won't lie, this is one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. She lectures the whole class period and only has 20 question quizzes sometimes about 2 chapters. She really makes you study! But the upside is that she prepares you for harder classes in the future. You can tell she cares about her students though! If you want a challenge, take her!
Overall, she is very nice and enjoys her job, but this class is hard and takes a lot of work! Lots of lectures and lots of tests! You really have to try your best to do well the tests but it is possible. She provides a good amount of extra credit and drops your lowest test grade, which helps a lot. Be prepare to work extremely hard though!
This class is extremely challenging. It requires a lot of reading because she gives 20 question quizzes just about every week. She gives lecture outlines which are very helpful to know what to focus on. She is enthusiastic about the material and tries to make the material relatable with examples. Definitely, the hardest 100 level class I've taken.
She is a tough professor who doesnt use powerpoints but lecture outlines you have to print yourself. She doesnt even talk about everything on them. She says you have to read it. Be prepared to try very hard. If you dont have a high grade its very hard to bring it up. Each quiz is 20 questions that have nothing to do with the outlines.
This professor is really amazing! She is very outgoing and fun to listen to. Here's the thing, there is a lot of quizzes. There is about a quiz a week but if you take good notes. Her assignments really help with the quizzes. She is also understanding. You will pass just try hard enough, you can not think of this as a blow off class cause it is not.
You can tell she loves what she does and wants you to love it as well. The problem is, she thinks everybody is a psych major and knows exactly what she's talking about at all times. She has lecture outlines, no powerpoints, yet talks about maybe two points on a two page outline. Do the readings before class & take notes, she drops lowest quiz & E/C
Dr. Borkowski was a good professor overall. The material and content of the course was challenging, but she is very knowledgeable and explains it in great detail. She sometimes jumps around on the outlines and it can be difficult to keep up during lecture, but asking questions helps. She also offers extra credit that can really boost your grade.
She assigns weekly chapter readings that she says should take 4 hours each. some weeks their is 2 readings. I went to her office hours because I wasnt doing well so she reccomended that I read the chpater before and after class so if you calculate that since each chapter takes 4 hours to read if I read both chapters 2 times its 16 hours a week.
Time-consuming, but a great professor. She recommends buying MyPsychLab at the beginning of the semester. GET IT. Her quizzes are very similar and I wouldn't have done so well without it. Major extra credit opportunities, rose my grade 5% at the end. If you get A's on the quizzes you don't have to take the exams too!
Overall, I loved this course and the way she teaches. She is very energetic and passionate about psychology. I don't know why everyone is complaining about the quizzes. I did fine on all of them and didn't have to take the final. This is a COLLEGE class. Put the work in. It is not a difficult course. I learned a lot and I would take her again.
Every class included her dry, uneducated, narcissistic ramblings. She's completely unorganised. Her notes are difficult to comprehend, and she's constantly making demonstrations of power. If a student sends her an email, she typically does not answer, even if it's during her office hours. Instead, she waits until class and responds publicly.
I don't know why some of her reviews are so negative, I love the way she teaches! She is very energetic, approachable, and knowledgeable. Study hard for each quiz! I got As on all of them and was able to opt out of the midterm and the final exam. I would take her class again.
Very nice teacher. Here is the guide to this class: the book she recommends is pointless dont buy it, just use her study guides for quizzes. Study a couple days before every quiz. Listen to lectures. HW is easy. Take home quizzes are easy, put your time into them. If you do well on quizzes you can get out of midterm and exam.
She is one of my favorite professors! Attendance is important and lots of reading ever week!
She teaches way too hard for a psych 100 class. All you do is lecture every day and you have a quiz over a chapter every other day. She just tries to cover too much info in too short time and on her test tries to trick students rather than test their knowledge. Also publicly humiliates students about their mistakes on work. Do not take her class.
Here is the thing. I did not realize this until after I have taken the class and started taking another psych class. I may have not done great in her class but I did learn a lot afterwards which really helped me out for me other psych class. She is really good to talk to and she helps you whenever you need it. She hard but worth the time.
Dr. Borkowski was my first college professor and she really prepared me to put actual effort into a class to get what I need out of it. She's a tough professor, but she prepares you to learn and retain the material taught.
The professor does not teach material well at all. This class is very challenging and I would not take this course again. There is at least one test a week and can be very overwhelming having to read 50+ pages from a textbook for every class period. Make your own study guides because hers don't go along with her tests. She is very nice though.
Dr. Borkowski was a good professor and was extremely helpful during her office hours. If you are struggling at all, I urge you to go to her office hours to receive some additional help. The class required a lot of reading and there was a test about every other week. Borkowski's class definitely requires a lot of hard work and dedication.
Do not take this class with this professor. She grades way to hard and also publicly humiliates students. Many complaints about her last semester, that she was reviewed many times. She constantly rambles and is overall nothing but the worst professor I ever had. She doesn't seem to care about the success of her students.
One of the worst Profs I have ever taken. Been an all A student my whole life. Assumes you already know everything about psych. Very hard to learn in this class and would never ever take this class or prof again. Tells you to be spending 7-8 hours only reading the chapters and assigns 1-2 chapters a week. Way too much for a level 100 class.
Professor Borkowski is energetic during her lectures and kind. Her quizzes, on the other hand, are absolutely ridiculous. I have studied and followed all of her guidelines and still not done well on her quizzes. I am an A student. The quiz contains questions a lot of times that do not have to do with her lecture outline.
Professor Borkowski is tough! However, she has been one of my favorite professors I have had! I am even taking two more courses with her next year. She is very upfront and expects a lot from you but this is a college class. Even though she is tough she is willing to help you in whatever way she can. Read the book and show up and you will be fine!
Worse professor I've ever had. Did not teach at all. Assumed you could learned everything in the book by yourself. Only guidance was through outlines which did not contain 60% of the assessments. Routinely made mistakes on the assessments. Told professor I had been cheated off of. She insisted it was nothing and did nothing for me. DO NOT TAKE HER!
She is way too intense, assumes everyone is a psych major. Her favorite thing to do is deflect from her poor teaching when students ask logical questions by saying "come to my office hours". And refuses to answer questions. She gives you around 100 bullet points to know inside and out for the quiz which is 25 question UGH!
I feel like Dr. Borkowski thinks her students only take her class when enrolled. She assigns so much reading a week its overwhelming and wants you to participate in a diary study every 2 hours of every day for a majority of the semester. If you fall one exam, don't expect to pass the class. If you don't absolutely have to take this course, don't.
Took the course during covid, professor didn't help AT ALL. Her highest class average quiz is 12/20. Midterm average was 65% after the curve. All class quizzes are on Sundays. Take another professor.
I am not new to college courses, however, this is far and wide, the worst class experience I have ever had. The quizzes are fundamentally broken. They are not designed to ensure you learned anything topical, but to see if you can remember minute details or random statistics. The "study guides" rarely have anything to do with the questions asked.
The exams are recorded if that doesn't make exam-taking stressful enough. The study guide for the first exam is ridiculously long. Do the extra credit if given the option. A lot of reading. I like Dr. Borkowski as a person, but I think she forgets that students are taking other classes and not just hers.
This is the worst Professor I have EVER had. She simply didnt teach our class. All she did was give us videos to watch from 2017, told us to read the book, and tested us. Thats it. Whenever somebody asks her for help, she simply says go to the tutoring center and completely dismisses the fact that you need help. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.
I took this class online during the pandemic so it may differ... In this class you will read, a lot the outlines are helpful but can be overwhelming. You will realize quickly that the quizzes cover very specific details to test if you really read the section. My advice to pass this class is to read the section word for word and watch the videos.
I am a straight A student who has taken AP Psych, this was supposed to be my easy class. It was so hard, the test were worded weird and never related to the work. So much homework, a whole online assignment that takes 6 hours, plus a test 5pm each week. I did horrible and studied for 15 hours a week. She acts like its your only class. Dont suggest.
I took this class online and hated every second of it. She only teaches half of the text book chapters, so make sure you read the whole chapter yourself and learn it. Tests and quizzes are with webcam and lockdown, no open book quizzes. The material was interesting, I just wish the class would have been easier so I could actually enjoy it.
The way this course was taught was very... unique. Professor Borkowski offers lectures and extra credit to help, but the coursework is very hard to keep up with. New and mostly very long chapters every week. Weekly quizzes that can only be taken on Sundays between 5 PM - 7 PM. But she does offer to drop two quiz scores.
I highly recommend to stay away from this professor for PSYCH 100. If you do decide to take her, good luck on the weekly quizzes. Her weekly quizzes are ridiculous, they don't pertain to the material to the book, and she pulls random quotes from the book. The class average for the quizzes and exams was around a 55% for each of them.
Makes you work extremely hard, five or more hours most days reading or studying. Quiz questions are ridiculous, asking very specific questions, like what percent has visited a chiropractor. I struggled at first, but stopped watching lectures and spent more time studying from the textbook and 200+ card quizlet each chapter, I used 1,500 for final.
Professor Borkowski was not bad, but I would not take her again. She does act like it is the only class you are taking. But if you put in the work and just get through the semester you'll do alright. Reuploads lectures from 2017 but encourages promptness and "staying on top of things" from students. Take with a different professor if possible.
Okay so context. I have a bs in psychology. I meant to go to grad school right out the gate but didnt. Took her 101 class as a refresher. Its mostly fine but she cannot write test questions to save her life. Her mid-term felt like a so bad its good movie to me. Wish I had a copy of the things for laughs. Would avoid if possible.
She's very kind and accessible. She really cares about her students. I would try taking this class in the Spring or Summer; a ton of homework, lots of reading, you won't have much spare time if you take this class. Interesting material, class is very structured, it's just a lot.
I can tell she truly is a very kind person but I feel she forgets we have other courses, jobs, extracurriculars, and social lives to manage as well. You will read SO MUCH. And you will need to study for weekly quizzes. Difficult quiz questions. If you are a busy person, do not even consider this course.
A LOT and i mean A LOT of info in a short amount of time. way too much work for a level 100 class. always been an all As student, worked hard, and did well in school and even I think this class is just TOO much. would withdraw if i wouldnt lose scholarships. dont take this course unless you have absolutely no other options.
This was the worst class and Professor I have ever had. The weekly quizzes are impossible no matter how much you study and they don't have anything to do with her lectures or the ridiculously long readings. She acts like this is your only class. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS

SHE IS AWFUL. A ton of information in a short amount of time. Readings would be around 50 textbook pages a week. I am typically an all A student but her class is nearly impossible. The weekly quizzes suck and always include tiny details from the margins that nobody would think to remember. AVOID!!!!!!!
This is a exam/quiz heavy class. the syllabus stated that we should apply about 12-16 hrs a week to be successful in this class. The questions on the quizzes are very detailed with minor relevance to the whole chapter. The whole semester she curved every test because everyone seemed to be struggling. there was a 13 point curve on our exam. DONT
Made quizzes are on the weekends and had an exam over spring break. Information wasn't always correct. Does not teach, relies fully on the book. But she gives extra credit and will occasionally curve.
This is by far the hardest class I have taken so far and Im in my third year. For a 100 level class this was very difficult. The quizzes were very hard to get a good grade on and I spent at least 12 hrs a week on this class and still only got a B+. There is a lot of reading and a ton of information to remember.
I took this class online. Quizzes were only open from 12pm-5pm on Sundays. However she is very accommodating and caring to her students. Her quizzes are hard but if you READ the chapter and understand the concepts, they aren't horrible. Also she won't tell you this, but she curves the grades ALOT. Two lowest quiz grades are dropped. Good person :)
This was the hardest class I have taken. Her lectures are so difficult to follow and she never taught our class with anything besides an outline! The quizzes are on small, minute facts randomly placed in the book rather than important topics and definitions. Almost every question on the quiz is worded confusingly Would 100% NOT RECCOMMEND STAW AWAY

Her tests did not AT ALL reflect the material she presented in lectures or homework. If you want to pass, you better get ready to read the entire textbook word for word. She babbles on a lot and is kind of unorganized, and she does not frequently respond to emails, but rather responds publicly in class. I will say that she is kind though.
I took the class online my first semester and goodness gracious it was miserable. For one, the quizzes are intentionally worded and constructed to try and trick you, rather than to actually gauge you intellect. Secondly, the quizzes will have extremely obscure questions that barely relate to the topic at hand. Theres more, but I am out of room.
Nice lady, but rants in class. Does not focus on 1 topic, she is all over the place during lecture. Quizzes are always curved. Avoid this professor.
I do not recommend taking this professor whatsoever! She has no consideration for things going on in your life and will not talk to you about things you are doing wrong before she penalizes you for those things. If you can get out of her class, get out as soon as you can. You have to be very careful and make sure you are following her rules.
some of the information on test was inaccurate according to her lectures. Just recites information off of slides instead of elaborating on the information given.
I've never written one of these, but I must express that this professor is a no-go! Don't do it to yourself! Information doesn't reflect the book or lectures at times. For lectures she mostly rambles about one topic, going in circles to the point of confusing not only the students but herself. If I didn't need to course I would've dropped easily.
She is so hard to follow, her teaching style is so confusing. No notes, no slides, she just rambles. What are you supposed to write down in lecture? No idea! Tests are online thru LockDown browser.... so if you have a chromebook, you CANNOT take the class. She is nice and I was able to pass without ever going to class... but I don't recommend her
Dr. Borkowski was a wonderful person but that's the only good thing I have to say about her. This class had way too much work for a 100 level course. I would not suggest you take this class unless you want to take 4 hours out of the week reading subjects that are barely covered.
Dr. Borkowski is a very nice and good person but when it comes to teaching, I can't say the same. The homework is SO long and when done the right way (without quizlet) they take roughly 3-4 hours. The lectures also make no sense and she rambles about anything and everything BESIDES the course material. Always curves because of low scores.
She made us pay $80 for a program. We would have a week to read the 2-3 interactive chapters assigned every other week for homework it took 6 hours the reading does count as a grade and can really mess up the overall. Tests use lockdown. Only has an outline, rambles about stuff that's barely relevant to tests. She does curve because of low scores.
Though she is a kind person, I highly wouldn't recommend taking this professor if you can avoid it. Her lectures are very unorganized and she does have a tendency to ramble which can be very frustrating and confusing. However, if you really study (and I mean REALLY study) the book you'll be fine. The exams are very difficult.
Fine for gen ed psych. Very disorganized in lecture and keeps repeating questions or will start tangents and not finish them. It's a fine class, lots of quizzes & online stuff. Buy the book online to do the online hw. Show up to class & you MIGHT get extra credit. Just study and know your stuff and you should be fine.

She was a great professor, If you want to pass a class pick her as your professor but be mindful she talks alot and can get sidetracked. She offers E.C for anything so go to class! Homework every other week and Quiz every other week, questions in quiz are in the homework. Final and Midterm was just questions from the quizzes. Such an easy class.
I am a good student, and I usually get A's. But this class wasn't for me. As she has pre-typed notes, in which she hand writes as well during class. Goes onto different topics, while circling back sometimes. I just read the book mainly, because I would confuse myself more while going to class. Tests are bit hard. So, good luck everyone.
Very difficult class. Borkowski's lectures are unorganized and she doesn't provide clarification. Textbook is an ABSOLUTE MUST. You seriously have to read the book cover to cover to pass the exams. She treats students like grad students, not new students in psych. I would not recommend this professor until maybe your fourth year. MAYBE.
LOTS of reading, the lectures are long and boring. ALL grades are quizzes, even the online reading assignments grade is reading quizzes. Uses lockdown browser!!! The one good thing is she will give extra credit for the most random crap like just showing up to class and participating. Is a no f's given kind of professor tbh
Most homework takes about 3-4 hours to complete. She also does not provide clear feedback on homework assignments. Her tests are all lock down browser. Her instructions for assignments are unclear. The work load for most college students balancing a job and other classes is unrealistic.
she set the bar way too high for a 300 level class. There were at least 3-4 separate homework assignment due each week that were about 4-5 pages on average each. The tests were extremely difficult as well and she is an extremely picky grader. Do yourself a favor and do not take any of her courses- don't add that extra stress to your life.
This professor is horrible. Its ironic considering the course is titled "Psychology of Learning" and she could not teach. She was incredibly rude to students who needed extra help. The mass amount of homework was worth very little. Very disorganized, does not use canvas or slides in her lectures causing her to jump all over the place.
While the professor is nice, the class is disorganized with lots of homework and rambling lectures. Quizzes make up a big part of the grade. unstuck ai and the textbook were helpful for studying, but attendance is mandatory.

Although she is very nice she makes a simple 100 course difficult, quizzes every two weeks over topics i have to teach myself about because her lectures don't go over important material only stories, went from taking many psych classes i did well in during high school to barley being about to get more than a 19/40 on a quiz!

This prof is not good. she is all over the place, gives quizzes and exams that are nothing like what she covers in the outline or in our textbook. she rambles nonstop and is a literal opp. if you want an easy gen ed this is NOT the one to take it with. run don't walk.
A lot of reading, however she normally is quite thorough in the lectures. Slightly confusing at times, however it is manageable. Overall good class, you just need to study. She also offers extra credit worth 1% overall grade per study you participate in, also random extra credit for in class assignments.
This class is not easy but if you do all of the work for the class you will be fine. Read the chapters before class and fill in gaps during lecture. Her study guides and practice questions from the book will prepare you completely for the exams. Put in the work and you will be fine.

I should've known it was going to be awful when on the first day of class she said, "You guys should be good with just passing this class." She is the worst professor I have ever had. Spent 5+ hours a week outside of class reading her never ending textbook and doing quizzes. Exams have repeat questions and are fairly easy if you know your stuff. She curved most exams. Insufferable lecture.
Quizzes and tests are lecture based. You will spend hours and I mean hours on the book work, but none of it is on the quiz. I have friends who study and paid so much attention in this class and some who didn't, get the same grade overall. Her lectures are all over the place and hard to follow. If you get her, drop the class, don't wait.
This teacher is not lenient at all, you cannot make up any quiz under no circumstance and when it's quiz time she still lectures cutting into our time to complete the quiz. There are no additional assignments so your grade will ultimately depend on if you pass the quizzes and finish the the revel (that takes HOURSSSS)
I would not make my worst enemy take this class. You have to pay to do the homework only for it to barely be on the quizzes and tests. Not only that but she claims the test are lecture heavy however tons of information is not talked about leaving you to have to wonder what you will be quizzed on. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!

Would not recommend this professor. She talks at you for 2 hours straight each class, does not cover all the material for quizzes. Online book with homework that takes hours on end, the quizzes in class barely ask questions about the online book. There are no assignments in class, grade is based off of in class quizzes and exams.
