Margaret Caldwell is an alright good prof. She puts all the notes online, which is good, but it would be impossible to write down anything in the lectures. She whizzes through the power point slides like crazy. But, I found her tests to be really good if you studied. She's kinda boring though, so be prepared to take naps.

She has all her notes online, which is great, but she tends to just read off the slides, which I can do at home. So, it's not really necessary to go to class unless you want to catch up on sleep.

Put notes online and ahead of time, which is a definite plus. Classes tended to be a little dry but it was the material, not the prof. Very helpful and approachable outside of class with problems and questions. Would definitely recommend her!

haha, very easy proff and course. i missed alot of classes but it wasn't a problem as all her exam questions are stright from the notes online. talked to her a couple of times, and she's a very nice person

Boriiiiiing.Really nice woman, but attendance was down by at least 50% toward the end of the semester.Adds extra information that isn't on the exam so you have to ask her which notes are important or not if you are not in class.Posts her notes online.Very fair tests and exams.Predictable.

Excellent Prof! I had her for both Bio 1002 and 2040. She's really sweet and she even makes an effort to learn student's names. She is really approachable and willing to help. Tests are easy and there are not many surprises! I highly recommend Dr. Caldwell :)

Really sweet professor and if you ask a question and she doesn't know the answer she will look it up and let you know. However class is extremely boring because she just reads on the slides.

Notes are posted online, and they include everything you need to know. She's very helpful, and very sweet. There is a LOT of material, and I find her lectures boring because she just reads the slides word for word. But I definitely recommend her! Don't bother to buy the textbook, I didn't use it.

Sweet professor. Very friendly. I wasn't into this subject and found it hard to keep up with material, but if your coming in with any sort of prior knowledge of the subject, she's golden.

Nice lady, very helpful. Shows concern for her students and how well they do. All slides are posted and are basically just read in class, don't bother going if you know how to study well on your own. A lot of material but it comes down to how much you can memorize. Tests are an absolute joke, don't be surprised if you finish one in 20 minutes

Dr.Caldwell is approachable and helpful as a prof, and one who makes an effort to look up answers to questions that she does not know. Mid-terms are relatively easy and based largely on figures and diagrams that she presents in class. Recommended prof if you have the opportunity to work with her.

Very nice! Notes are great. Study her lecture slides online and you will definitely get an A. Dr. Caldwell truly cares about her students and goes out of her way to answer any questions asked. She makes this very dull course somewhat interesting by using videos and cute little stuffed animals! Lol she has a good sense of humor.

I had her for bio 1001 during fall 2013 semester. She is such a sweet, approachable, and caring woman. I wish I had her for 1002 , unfortunately she is not teaching it this semester. I will for sure be taking bio 2440 with her fall 2014! Recommend for sure :)

So sweet and very clear about what she expects on the exams! However her lectures are boring as she reads off the slide, and even though her voice is so high pitched and happy, she drones on, so it's really hard to focus on her voice.

Best prof ive had at mun in my three semesters for clarity on what was expected on the exams. if youve never did bio in High school i suggest her, she gives review questions that are extremely helpful and sometimes appear word for word on the exam.

I found Dr. Caldwell was a very good resource for my first year bio course. Very sweet and straight forward. I also enjoyed how when someone would have a question that she didn't have an answer for, she would have a slide or two prepared for that question for the following lecture. Excellent prof, excellent course.

A real sweetheart. Found it hard to stay awake during lectures but it's not her fault that biology is boring. Tests and exam was easy as hell as long as you read the book and review the slides. Easy pass.

Looking back at my first semester Margaret was without a doubt my favourite professor. She is funny, caring and clear. She doesn't complicate test questions, if you study the notes the tests are very easy.

While Dr. Caldwell seems like a very sweet lady, my experience 1-on-1 was not the peppy, nice lady I witnessed give lectures. I went to her office to ask questions and both times she told me my questions weren't good enough :P Afterwards she seemed to have a distaste for me and would often stop talking to glare at me in the lectures.

Great prof! Her tests are very easy to prepare for as the questions come straight from her slideshows. She essentially would read from the slideshows in lectures so you won't miss much if you don't show up. She often takes questions in the lectures and seems very sweet but will glare at you if you leave early and uses up every minute of the time.

Caldwell totally makes me want to do a Bio major. She is so passionate about her work and it really shows in her lectures. Always fair tests but gave hints in class so going to class is recommended. LOVE HER!

Caldwell is boring in lectures, she just reads from the slides so attendance isn't mandatory. She does post review questions for every topic she teaches and the entire midterm is basically situated around those same questions. If you write her notes, do the practice questions, and review the diagrams then her course is an easy A.

By far one of my favourite profs. So incredibly caring and sweet. She does review sheets for each topic which makes studying for midterms and tests extremely easy! overall a wonderful prof and wonderful person!

Her enthusiastic lectures made biology all the more interesting and enjoyable to learn. Provided students with very helpful worksheets, unlabeled diagrams, and thorough in class notes which made studying much simpler. It is clear that she cares very much about her students and go the extra mile to make sure all their questions are answered.

She is enthusiastic in class but her lectures can be boring, she sticks to her slides. It is clear she cares about her students, she gave unlabeled potential diagrams for the midterm and review questions for each lecture. One of the nicest profs on campus.

Her notes are great, and in class she tells you what will be tested on. She is probably one of the best profs that I've had throughout my degree, and I can not recommend enough.

She was an amazing prof, I would recommend her to anyone. She tells you whats on the exams and gives hinds as to what the bonus questions will be, there was two bonus questions on each exam and four on the final. She honestly made me look forward to a 9 am class. I strongly recommend her!

Caldwell posts a test format and "practice questions" for every midterm. USE THEM. I don't really study in her class I just use her review questions because they are the exact same as her midterms.

She makes it very clear what she expects of her students, and also makes it clear what she will test on her exams. I enjoyed my class with her, because I feel like she genuinely cares about her students.

Her notes are so good and she doesn't just read them off in class, she has questions within the notes that you can write the answer to which for me helped me focus. She also uses lecture capture so if you miss a few classes it's no biggie. Great Prof.

Dr. Caldwell is amazing! Hour and 15 minute classes obviously suck but for bio 2040, she told you terms that she wanted you to know and so on during classes and she gives you practice questions that help with the midterms and she also gives you the diagrams to know as well. It's soooo easy because of her!

Best prof for this course hands down, all the reviews are correct!! Gives review questions that are exact questions from tests/exams, do those & practice filling in the diagrams& its an easy 100 for every piece of evaluation. So sweet, she is super engaging and passionate during lectures (but the material is dry lol). Keeps you more than prepared!

Very sweet and caring, going to class isn't overly important in my opinion as she just reads the notes off the slides. Only two tests and an exam for in class and a 3 hour lab once a week.

There are only 2 mid-terms and a final as well as a 3-hour lab every week so you aren't graded on a whole lot. Overall, would easily take her class again

Dr. Caldwell is so sweet and her outfits are amazing. Going to class is not necessary as she reads directly off the slides, but she is very passionate about teaching biology so attending class is interesting. It is graded on labs and 2 midterms only; however, her review guides and key diagrams are exactly what to expect on her tests.

Hard to ask her questions during class but is super attentive outside of class, wants students to do well. Covers lots of material per class and her lectures are identical to her slides.

I had Margaret Caldwell during my second semester at MUN while taking Biology 1002. I absolutely love her as a person and a prof. You can't go wrong with taking Margaret! Her tests are very fair and she gives helpful worksheets for review which was amazing! The worst part about the course was the lab - absolutely terrible.

Professor Caldwell is a good professor, however, her lectures are dry and not very enjoyable. I heard awesome things about her in-person and feel it is unfair to base her primarily on this year's circumstances. Her test are fair but they require a lot of studying and because they're worth a lot, this is a course you wanna study a lot for.

Margaret is super sweet and is thorough with the material, although the lectures can be dry. If you do her practice questions and listen especially when she says, "I want you to know this", you will do well!

I had Margaret Caldwell during Covid-19 pandemic and over all she is a good professor. Shes friendly, quick to respond to emails and provides good review sheets, test answers straight from review sheets, watching lectures isnt mandatory, you can just read off of her notes and do just fine. Lectures are very long and boring. Overall would recommend

I never watched her lectures but I found that her uploaded notes were all you needed to do well. Reading the textbook was not necessary. She gives lots of review and provides all the diagrams you need to know. Final grade was based on 5 tests, including the final, each 14%. I would recommend.

Dr. Caldwell is so nice and caring! Very accessible outside of class. Her notes are extremely detailed. Her notes and review sheets cover exactly what is going to be on the tests. The labs are probably the most challenging part of this course. Would 100% recommend her!
