Awesome teacher, she is definately the one you want to take if Speech is a challenge for you. Totally recommend her to anyone! Very understanding when it comes to people presenting speeches...Do your speeches and you'll do great..Also gives lots of extra credit.

SPC is hard for people because you have to WRITE and RESEARCH and follow exact directions. As a college of the arts, you will WORK in this class. Mz. G. is the way to go. She will hold your hand the whole way through if thats what it takes. Do your speeches exactly as she tells you, she is a very honest grader and does not cut slack. Take her!

The assignments shes gives do require work but it is nice and simple if you pick a topic you know or interested in. She tries helping you out with your grades too. Speech has got to be one of the worst classes ever, but she makes it one of the best! I kid you not. She has all sorts of preliminary activities to get the class used to each other before giving speeches, and she is extremely helpful and understanding. She has done everything she can to make this class possible even for the non-gifted.

Mrs.G is really awesome. If you do everything she says, you will get an A. Even though Mrs.G is very nice, she means business! She's very clear about what she wants out of her class. She doesn't expect too much, and if you need any help, she's there for you. She's very strict about deadlines and having the material she asks for, so remember to bring EVERYTHING you need when you present. She's also pretty hard on tardiness. No textbook. Easy class.

Great teacher, but she takes off points for silly things - like not wearing a button-up business shirt under your blazer. Kinda silly. Overall, though, nice and low pressure. Great for those who are nervous and hate speeches - and a breeze for those of us who don't mind. Short and simple speeches, for the first, no one looks at you.

TAKE HER SPEECH CLASS. No textbook, just a $2 workbook. A fun and wacky teacher; she makes classes fun. You do have to go to class, but she is flexible. 5 speeches altogether, but you get to choose your own topics. NO TEXTBOOK. I failed speech twice before and passed her's with an easy A. She is a good teacher, patient and very helpful.

EXTREMELY RECCOMENDED. As much as i dreaded speech, I enjoyed every minute of her class. She is VERY helpful, and gets everyone involved. The speech subjects are very broad, so you can talk about something you like. She has her rules, though. Attendance Required. Really, I'd love to take her class again. Too bad she doesn't teach anything else.

I think Speech is boring no matter what, but Professor Gonzalez is a good teacher to take it with. She has very specific expectations, but if you read your syllabus and your speech requirements that she gives you, you should be able to do well on your speeches. I never got a 100% on a speech, but I still got an A in the class. I recommend her.

This is probably the easiest speech class you can take if you are nervous about speaking. For your first two speeches, she has everyone face away from you so that you do not feel any pressure! She allows you to choose most of your topics so that you are interested. If you attend regularly and show that you are trying, you will pass the class.

Do NOT take this teacher. Speech is supposed to be an easy class. In her class you work really hard just for a B. I really do my best in this class and I keep getting B's. You have to write an outline for every speech do self evaluation power point and a lot more. You also have quizzes and discussions to do. This is just too much for a speech class

This teacher is awesome if you dont like doing speeches she is highly recommended very nice all the time. If you came to be a student you will do fine i got B and C all through highschool and getting an A in here very recommended again and powerpoints take 2 sec along with outlines

She is a "different person" but very kind, attendance is highly recommended; be prepared to lose a lot of points of your absent. She is a little creepy, almost stalker like, but harmless. Will randomly chat with you on WEBCT when you least expect it, overall she knows her stuff and if you try and go to class, you'll do just fine.

This was my thrd chance at speech and she was the easiest and nicest of all 3 tchrs. She shows you xactly what she is looking for and never changed the rules half way thru the course. You lose 5 ponts if yu dont come on speech days but youl want tocome because its a fun class.

Even if you are not good at doing speeches her grading is so you are able to still get a good grade if you do all the work. and she has fun activites that you do. She makes you feel totally comfortable and the 1st 2 speeches are short and everyone turns around so no one is looking at you! AWESOME! I'm shy and after dropping three specch classes..I was dreading taking speech. She is really nice & always helpful just ask after class. It was a fun- one of my favorite & memorable college class.I learned so much and it's easy to get an A if you do what she says.Do the xtra credit,attendance is a must dont be late more than 3 times.Enjoy! *=)

Mrs G is in the top five collest professors at VCC. I dreaded this class, but Mrs G made it fun and it was easier than I thought it would be. EXTREMELY nice, she's funny and will work with you, and will make you feel comfortable about giving your speeches. Everyone should take this class with this professor! :)

I didn't want to take speech, but I've done great. I've gotten perfect in everything. Attendance is mandatory. Do everything and you'll be good. There's enough extra credit throughout the course. No textbook, but a packet. She's great don't miss out this class. BTW, the first two speech are 10 pts and everyon will face the wall. You'll know everyon

Did awesome in the class, perfect. Ms. G is a great teacher and has a great class. Don't think twice when deciding to take her. Gives example on everything good and bad. Absences & tardies in her class means your grade lowers after being too absent. She is extremely helpful and clear on what she wants. GREAT! =]

Awesome teacher! She's very funny and easy to get along with. I highly recommend doing most, if not all, of the extra credit. If you fail this class it's your own fault because it's fun and (mostly) easy. Use note cards and look up from them as often as possible. You should do most of the EC even if you have an A. It gives you some room to breathe!

this professor is awsome, she is a mom so she does not put up with shenanigans, but she makes speech fun and interesting. just follow directions and show her you are not afraid of working and a little bit of effort and you will get an A, and she makes speech not so dreadful, i think she is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!

Very easy class, but you learn a lot from her. She is the type of teacher who genuinely cares about you and your grade in her class. Offers plenty of extra credit, and always reminds you plenty of times about homework, although homework is limited. Took her during the summer and I got a b without any extra credit! Highly recommend.

Fantastic teacher, really cares about her students, and wants you to succeed in her class. Just make sure you are in class and on time, because it can mess up your grade in the end. She gives you extra credit opportunities. Ms. G is the BEST and very helpful! Don't be afraid to ask her questions. If you do what's required you can get an A easily.

The 1st 2 speeches are easy, but she starts grading harsher for the rest of them. Watch out for time limit, citing sources "orally". Do all of the extra credit, they give you some space to breath toward the end of the semester. If your grade is high enough, you just have to do this very easy writing assignment the final (other options available).

Great LADY. I loved her she is so calm and helpful. Tries her best to make you feel comfortable about public speaking and even makes it fun. Dont miss her class too much. come prepared and on time it will give you an advantage with picking when you present etc.. Very organized.

Ms. G is a fantastic instructor. She gives very clear instructions via a soft textbook (cost $6 for the Spring semester.) If you follow the instructions and don't miss many classes you will be fine. I ended up with such a high grade that I did not have to take any final at all which was fantastic!

Without a doubt best professor I have ever had! Everyone dreads taking a speech class but she made it my favorite class! She understands that we're all nervous and takes the pressure away. You spend the first 2 weeks getting to know everyone so you're comfortable talking in front of 'friends'. I absolutely loved her and will miss my entire class.

OMG! If you have a fear of public speaking, Ms.G will change that. She makes you extremely comfortable her and all your classmates. Its a judgement free zone. She is fun and super sweet. You will get an easy A by just doing what she says. Plus she throws bonus points at you. And the book you have to get is super cheap!

If you are a freshman coming into college TAKE HER!! She is an amazing professor and makes you feel so comfortable with your public speaking. SUPER EASY just show up to the class and have fun.

Really easy and clear on what to do. She does however "baby" the class, she will spoonfeed you. If you don't get a good grade it's all on you, she couldn't be any clearer in what she wants. Follows the syllabus to the T.

Took her online short summer class. 3 speeches Hard time with 5 member audience. Plan ahead! Video lectures and voice messages were very helpful.

Got her for a hybrid course, had an F in the beginning of the semester (all my fault, kept forgetting to do online stuff, KEEP YOUR SYLLABUS!) but ended up with a B. She's super helpful if you just ask! Liked her class in the end, only 2 speeches, one a group one, one solo. Any topics you want, tons of extra credit. Take her!

She is really great. Even when the class was online, there was a lot of things that backed up the lessons. And when you messaged her, she replies fairly quickly and articulated. I took her class online, Yes it was a little time consuming, yes getting the 5 audience is annoying, but I would take her again without hesitation. Blackboard= organized

If you love giving a million speeches in a semester you might like this class. I, however, do not. She also speaks to you like you are ten years old but then grades really harshly. If you take her definitely make sure you show up to class every single day because she takes off points and takes attendance like you're in high school again.

Follow the syllabus and don't procrastinate and you'll pass. Constantly forgot about the tests online and that killed me a little bit but survived with the extra credit she gives. Show up, do all the extra credit, don't procrastinate, and practice your speech before you present. Tough grader on speeches. Favorite Prof so far. Felt like highschool.

Mrs. G is super nice and really great I personally have a fear of public speaking but she makes it really comfortable for you the people on this site that dislike her are the ones that missed all the speech days and classes and are mad because they failed she is not harsh at all and is actually quite helpful.

6wk course, class is great. At first it's bit confusing because she has so much stuff all over in blackboard. But then you get the hang of it. Professor is great, provides great feedback on work. Hardest part was loading my videos on Youtube and getting my audience. 3 major speeches, 3 video diaries, Final written exam, few quizzes, discussions.

She's nice overall as a person and wants her students to succeed but all of her stuff on blackboard is kind of confusing. She grades kind of weird but she most likely won't let you fail the course. Makes everyone turn backwards during speeches so the speaker is more comfortable. would recommend.

Well, Gonzalez grades extremely harshly, if your speech/paperwork is not EXACTLY how she wants it, you can lose points soooo easily. It's not hard if you do the work correctly and don't miss ANYTHING according to the rubric. No textbook needed, she gives you one but make sure you keep it clean or you lose points in the end.

I just took this professor over the summer so the course was only 6 weeks. She is super nice and the class itself is very easy. You can't have more than 3 unexcused absences or you lose a whole letter grade. She is very specific with how she wants things done. As long as you follow everything you'll do fine! Also, she gives a lot of extra credit!

Professor Gonzalez is very, very clear with what needs to be done in her course. With that being said, the work is not hard. She gives you a clear criteria with due dates and whats required on her assignments. She's really caring and will be on top of you about where you're at in the course. I hate giving speeches and she made it easier.

There were 4 video discussions that are easy, 3 speeches to give in front an audience of 5 people. Easy hw and easy Final. Take her! She's good and helpful.

She provides a clear layout of how she wants assignments done. If you don't understand an assignment/instruction, she will gladly clarify.

Enjoyed taking course with her, super easy class if you pay attention. - Extra credit opportunities are also given - Tries to make sure everyone is on same page (ppl still confused since they don't ASK ex: those bad reviews of confusion) - literally everything is planned out and if you can't keep up with that college isn't for you lol

Miss G. is one of the easiest classes you can take. Never skip class because it matters a lot and she remembers. I think she doesn't s sleep because she will reply to your email in 1AM. Final is extra credit, and you are given a choice after every speech to increase your grade, you must be really uninterested to fail this class. Easy A

I took SPC 1608 online as a DE freshman. She is super kind and willing to work out any problems with you. Replies to emails pretty quickly. 10/10 one of the best teachers I've had.

Professor Gonzalez is one of the best teachers, she worries about her students and makes sure that they are doing good in the class, ALWAYS complete her speeches, they are very important, you have many options for extra credits which helps you to bump up your grade ;)
