Dr. Howell is an incredible instructor. She is tough, but extremely fair. Her exams are directly out of her notes and she gives a great review before each test. If you study her notes, you will do great- there are NO trick questions! I always looked forward to her lectures: they are full of info, never boring and are very fun! A+++++++++++++++

Although the material in this class is challenging, Dr. Howell presents it in an easy-to-understand way. Lectures are interesting and somehow she's able to squeeze some fun and humor into everything. When you finish with the class, you walk out knowing so much that you consciously believe you have improved your own neuroplasticity.

Dr. Howell is the best professor at Sante Fe Community College. If you simply come to class and listen to what she says you will do well. Howell is a very good teacher, and I wish all teachers where like her. She does curve the test grades and she is helpful. quizzes are a peace of cake. "really" She also made a book just for us to study and learn out of and that is the only book you will need the whole class it's only $15. If you wright her an email she will get back to you quick 2!

I took the hybrid class and was scared that i wouldn't have enough interaction to understand the material but she is very good at explaining the information while we do see her; also her text book is amazingly helpful. I highly recommend her.

tests are STRAIGHT from the notes she provides, class is always interesting, truly grasp bio2, but dont buy the book, we dont use it. shes not very linent about late assignments, goes over notes before tests and highlights what will be on it. labs are SO EASY, even go on field trips. TAKE HER!

Great teacher! She does the fill in the blank powerpoint notes which leaves room for class discussions which help and are imformative. Loves to do labs outside of the classroom. Test aren't too bad. Doesn't give many hw assignments. gives 2 easy projects. Attendance and tardy's are a big deal. After 2 abs can't get an A in course. I recommend her.

i took her hybrid class (half online, lecture every other week). i usually make B's and C's when it comes to online classes but i loved dr. howell. all you really need is her lecture notes. labs are all online and really easy. if you do all the work and just study her lecture notes you'll pass. i've made all A's on labs, all B's on exams. TAKE HER!

Attendance is mandatory for lecture and lab and tardiness is kept track of. But she makes you want to come to class:)

Easy teacher, very helpful. Study any and all reviews she puts out as they are almost word for word what will be on the test. I took the online hybrid version and the only online work was weekly "labs" matching pictures of body structures to their names.

AMAZING TEACHER! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Loved her teaching style. She makes you print notes out that you fill in for each lecture and then she tests from these notes. You don't need the book. She also reviews the class before tests and basically tells you what is on her tests. The final was actually a little tricky, but keep up an A on the first three tests and you'll be set.

I took Dr. Howell for 3 classes: Core Bio 2 (BEST Bio class ever!); Cardiovascular A&P (tough class- but she is such an AWESOME TEACHER, that the difficult material is made clear, interesting and VERY understandable); and 2084 Hybrid (mostly on-line so you have lectures only 1x/week- but she tells the class straight out what to expect). TAKE HER!

She made herself available when I requested help and promptly responded to email. She knew her subject very well and was enthusiastic about teaching it. The format was a summer C hybrid class that required students to exert themselves outside the classroom.

Awesome Teacher! Took it as a hybrid (mostly online with some classroom) and was sad that I didn't get to spend a full semester with her in class! Explains things perfectly when she's given the chance! Highly recommend if you're needing to take anatomy!!

I. LOVE. DR. HOWELL! What an amazing Professor! I took her for BSC2011/BSC2086. Her material is straight foward but the subject is difficult. Study her notes thoroughly, COME TO CLASS, and LISTEN. she has clear preference for some students while she doesn't care for others at all.If u dnt like kissing up to professors, this is not the professor for u. in my opinion the test r pretty hard and if u dnt have and anatomy class background u shouldnt take the class with her. i dnt recommend her.

Prof. Howell is amazing! This Core Bio II class was so enjoyable. I never thought that I would be excited to go to a Biology class, but I looked forward to every lecture! I really found myself appreciating Biology and all the cool things that go with it. Don't take anyone else for Core 2, this class is the best!!!

Dr. Howell's class was fun. Those people who claim she is not helpful or doesn't answer questions are the ones who didn't do there work or missed class. Her lecture notebook from SF bookstore is a MUST! She tests out of it, and tells you which sections to study.Don't skip labs or quizzes, they boost your grade.I would take her again anyday!

Dr. Howell is a great professor! She really knows what she's talking about and has stories from personal clinic experiences to give examples and made her own 18 chapter study notebook for easy studying and note-taking.

Dr. Howell is a great teacher but she teached in depth, and you MUST memorize every bit of it. Her study guide helps, but she makes you highlight every word on it which makes it even harder to study. Near the end of the course she was supposed to let me make up missed work and refused.. Shes also bad with emailing back. I failed because of that..

Great teacher, hard subject. Howell made a notebook for us with all the info you need to pass her class and the departmental final. The textbook is good for supplemental information and diagrams. DO NOT take this class while taking other core classes, take it with electives instead. Only 5 of 60 kids have an A. And she's the easiest instructor.

Fantastic professor. I can't imagine taking this class with anyone besides her. She makes you interact in the class but when you leave the end of the semester you will be able to explain what you have learned. Love her!!

This is "NOT" your high school anatomy class. Howell is hard and firm, but she did make a notebook to use for studying, which helps with her tests. Commit to studying about 8 hours a week for this class. I don't recommend taking other difficult courses with this class, or working. You need a lot of time to study.

BEST class I have ever taken, period! Dr. Howell explains the difficult material of A&P in an easy to understand manner, using practical examples, stories of patients she had (some are gross!) and she is very funny to top it off!!! If you study the material she gives you, there is no way NOT to get an A in this class. Those who don't study, well..

I'm just going to truthfully say, this was a hard class. But HONESTLY if you just study the notes she gives you, you will pass the class. Sure, Professor Howell is no peach, but she just wants the best for her students. She will do anything she can to help you if your struggling and gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Take her class.

You will definitely study your butt off for this class, but it pays off in the end. I highly recommend Dr. Howell to everyone!! You definitely need to review your textbook along with the lecture notes, but if you do, then you will be prepared for the lecture quizzes and section exams. She provides you with a lecture notebook that will be your "bible." Do not even use the textbook except in lab for pictures and definitions. If you work to memorizelearn the material in each lecture (approximately 2-4 lectures per exam) you will get an A!

Dr Howell is a very organized and straight forward teacher. She is tough but fair. She is very knowledgeable of the material and has made a notebook for the course, which can replace the lecture book after it is fillled out. You can tell she really has a passion for seeing students succeed. An office visit with her was amazing.

I took this class this semester and I really liked it! Coming to an Anatomy class I was extremely nervous, but Dr. Howell is a great teacher. She never tricks students on her tests, everything you need to know comes straight out of her lecture notebook, and she give study guides for all of her quizzes/ tests. Best and easiest teacher for A&P, I took 2084 and the class was super easy, you have to study but she wrote her own notebook that follows the lecture PowerPoint and the tests are based off of it. I passed the class with a high B and I only ever studied the night before the test. Wouldn't recommend that to anyone but it's really not a hard class.

Gives pop quizzes and her class is not easy but her lecture book is THE BIBLE of her class. She made an easy-to-fill-out lecture book that really helps in studying and she's one of the few teachers that gives test reviews with information that is actually going to be on your test. She really knows her stuff and I would really recommend. Love her!!

Requires you to purchase her lecture notebook for $20 and honestly, you won't even need the anatomy textbook. I didn't purchase one and I have a B+. The lecture notebook clearly outlines what material you should know and then she will review the material and tell you exactly what will be tested. I wish I had a professor like her every semester.

Okay, so Howell gives you the textbook that has her power points. Literally your bible! Use it! Make sure to know all the parts she tells you to highlight. I made diagrams and re-outlined parts I found difficult to help me understand. Draw the pictures! She goes quickly in class over the pwoerpoints, but ask questions if you have any.

Dr. Howell will give you all the tools that are necessary for you to pass with flying colors, but it's up to you to recognize and use them. She genuinely cares about each and every one of her students! The more and more you participate and ask questions, the more and more you will be rewarded! Still, to this day, one of the best teachers I've had!

Helps students pass this class, not by going easy on them but encouraging them to take tutoring and to study at home. Truly cares about students making good grades, not for her benefit but because a lot of the students are entering the health field and when it comes to a patients health It's crucial to know your stuff.

I still read the chapters in the textbook for a better understanding of the material but that wasn't necessary for all students. She gives pop extra credit opportunities almost every class. Loved Dr. Howell! I took this class Summer B in 6 weeks and it kicked my butt! However, she gave us everything we needed to do well and if you do what she tells you to for studying and not procrastinate, you will do fine. Basically, her tests are all from her lecture notes. But she truly cares and wants everyone to succeed. She will give you all the tools and information you need for the tests. She also has lots of class extra credit quizzes. So if you don't show up, your grade will really suffer. But as interesting as she makes it, you wanna go to class.

This course was a great blend of important info about the human body that will forever stay with us for our future programs and with Dr. H. telling funny (and gross!) stories about her patients that helped tie all the info together. Makes you work for your grade, but she really knows what she doing. She has her own "textbook" that she wrote, so makes it 100% easier than reading out of a standard text book.

She is a great prof that cares about her students and caters to all learning types. Her teaching style seemed weird at first but I soon learned that she exposes you to new material in lab and forces you to get background knowledge so that in lecture you can learn a lot better. Tests are straightforward and she gives GREAT study guides.

This class has been absolutely fantastic. I will say that you will get out of this class what you put into it. The subject matter in general is on the difficult side. But the professor is such a professional at teaching this course, that it's been a complete delight and I've actually learned an absurd amount.

The information is provided but its your job as the student to study A LOT to genuinely understand the content. Dr. Howell is understanding but strict. Commutation is key if any issues arise and she will work with you to make sure you succeed. She uses a lot of analogies and visuals that help you understand the material. Not an easy A.

First of Anatomy and Physiology is not an easy class. Dr. Howell's teaching techniques is perfect for this class. She will call on you with questions. You must prepare each lecture. There is no "vacation" for a few weeks from class. You will learn what you need to know for your major. It is a rewarding class. Best money I ever spent.

The class overall is very content heavy, but the note taking made it easier to understand the exact info needed for the class. The lectures helped to understand the content in depth and she answered any questions the students had. For a class that is content heavy and is online, it was well prepared and organized.

Took Dr. H's Zoom class and loved it! Just like being in a real classroom, but with the convenience of being at home. Learned an absurd amount and feel fully prepared for my program in the fall. Take her class, you will not regret! Highly recommend

I am a non-traditional student who already has a degree, and I've had many professors, so when I say Dr. Howell is one of the best teachers I have ever had, I mean it. If you want to truly learn the content and be able to apply it to your career, take her class. I took the online course, and the content was always relevant, clear, and interesting.

Dr. Howell was my professor for BSC 2084, which is required for most health science programs, and she was honestly the best. I had her class on Mon/Wed for lecture, and the labs were online. She goes into detail and welcomes questions. This class is doable, and requires a lot of effort on the student's part. Don't need the book.

I was having issues with my attendance due to personal matters and she was very patient with me, and even took the time to have a one on one with me where we more or less had a "heart to heart". This professor is amazing, you learn a lot from her because she truly cares about her students learning the information. She loves doing pop quizzes and they actually help a lot rather than lower your grade since they are for extra credit. She is very fast paced with the information but helps you remember it quickly.

Amazing professor, my grade is my fault since it was hard to understand A&P in the beginning. Provides extra credit in the form of pop quizzes. Replaces your lowest unit test with your highest. Textbook is helpful for a more understanding of the topics, which she provides for you for free. Would definitely take again for 2086.

There is not much homework so exams are crucial. As long as you put in the time and effort you will get a good grade. She does give you the chance to drop your lowest lecture exam. I took Prof Howell for the online AP1 class. Very organized class. She lets you know what you need to do every week and really helps you stay on top of it. Flexible with assignment submissions and great at getting back to you right away. She encourages you to meet with her on zoom and an appt with her is amazing, she will motivate you! Love her!

In short, it's perfect. Her classes are a "let's sit in a circle and find out what you know and talk about what you don't know."

Great professor, I had her last semester. Lectures were informative and funny. She has a unique way of helping you memorize things. The pop quizzes are for extra credit and to help with memorizing the material. There was five unit test and she drops the lowest one if you follow her criteria for it. Attendance does matters.

She has lecture notes and a lab manual that she made herself. These are the only required items in her class. No textbooks just these. Prices range differently every year. Both are available at the Santa Fe bookstore. All her quiz and exam questions come straight from the lecture. Pay attention in lecture and use your lab time wisely.

Out of all the classes I have taken, this class was one of the best. She makes this class very fun and easy to learn. If you study at least 2 times week and just pay attention in this class you will have no problem. She is very caring and if you don't think you get something she will make sure you do. Yes teacher/ class ever!!!!

This class is very easy if you attend class, lab, and study correctly. Communicate with her if you are struggling, she is very understanding and willing to help you succeed in this course.

Fantastic class! Always looked forward to attending lectures, Dr. H is hilarious and so interesting. I've had a lot of teachers in my life, but she tops them all. She has the definite "it" factor as a teacher. Her teaching style brings you into the subject so you really understand it. Recommend highly to take her. You will not be disappointed!

Really amazing teacher for A&P1. I took her with lab and the criteria was understandable. The class as a whole is challenging however she makes it easier to understand

Take Dr. Howell!! Her teaching style is fun and engaging. She provides ample resources for exams and extra credit opportunities. She truly cares about her students and is very approachable. I couldn't imagine taking this course with anyone else. Highly recommend!!

Beyond great instructor! Dr.Howell, truly makes learning enjoyable & yet manages to teach in such manner that I was sad lecture was over. She is well organized & truly cares for her students. So much EXTRA credit is available, although, if you study what is on the study guides you will do great on the exams (4 unit). Just do as needed :)

Dr. Howell is a compassionate professor who truly cares about her job. She is understanding of your circumstances and will work with you. She has clear study guides for all of her quizzes and tests, so UTILIZE those!!! During her lectures she teaches you ways to remember the material. Take her for anatomy 1!! God bless you Dr. Howell!

Loved Dr. Howell so much, she is the dream professor for A&P. She gives great PowerPoints that are exactly like the quizzes and exams, and she is always giving extra credit and genuinely wants her students to succeed.

I took Professor Howell in the spring, I honestly loved her. She has long lectures but she prepares you for the exam. She truly cares about her students and is there to help you if you go to her. She's talkative and easy to build a relationship with and is truly a teacher who wants you to succeed. Def see her after your exams she's there to help.

I took Dr. Howell for A&P over the summer. She is the type of teacher you wished taught all your classes. Great informational lectures. Always made sure we had the correct materials in order to prepare us for any test. She is the professor who really cares. I hope to see her again in the future and wish I had her for A&P 2.

A&P covers tough material, but Prof. Howell does a fabulous job teaching it! Great notes, and real life stories to keep it relevant. Study guides for exams were spot on. Very caring and wants to see students do well. Very quick to respond to emails, and answer questions. I wish I could have taken her for A&P 2! Highly recommend!

Dr. Howell was one of the best professors I've had, she's the kind of professor you want for every class!! She is very knowledgeable and wants you to succeed in her class. Her lectures and PowerPoints are spot on for the quizzes and exams. It is very easy to do well in her class if you put in the time to study! I really wish I had her for A&P 2!!

Dr. Howell was an excellent professor. The class was very structured, with clear learning objectives, and the study guides provided were invaluable, covering the information needed to do well on the exams. There were a lot of extra credit opportunities. I would recommend anyone taking A&P to take it with Dr. Howell.

Dr. Howell is AMAZING! This has been one of the roughest semesters for me, but a one-on-one appt with Dr. H changed my life. I've felt loved and supported the entire semester by her and it has made me want to go into the health care field & move forward in college. She motivates you & shows you how to succeed. You will be lucky to get her for A&P!

Coming from Boston, she is definitely on par with the best of the best at teaching. Up north, learning is far more rigorous, and she teaches with that same level of excellence. She is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students and wants to see them succeed. Her exams prepare you for nursing school and real-world challenges.

Lovee this professor!! Would take her again in a heart beat. Her lectures prepare you very well for the exams and she provides tons of extra credit opportunities. Go Jersey!

Professor Howell was great! She was very understanding and helped students succeed, however she often emphasized parts of lecture that weren't too important for the exams, quizzes, etc. She included lots of extra credit though, making it easier to pass and get a good grade in her class.

Amazing teacher, I took for A/P 1 and couldn't have asked for a better professor! Take Dr. Howell for these courses if you can you won't regret it.

I absolutely love Dr. Howell as my professor and it is so sad that she won't be teaching Anatomy and Physiology 2!!! She genuinely cares about the performance of her students, from extra credit, in-class group activities, Kahoot games, to offering office hours to help with students who may still be confused about certain lectures.

I highly recommend Dr.Howell, she is amazing! She cares about her students and wants you to do your best in the class. She prepares you for the test really well and gives clear study guides for the test. Offers extra credit throughout the semester.

I was failing the exams even with lots of studying, and she would talk to me during her office hours and walk through the questions I did wrong, and how to prepare for future ones. She makes sure everyone participates and knows each other which I appreciated bc of the wonderful people I met! Ended the class with a B with all her help! Gives EC!!
