really nice very fascinated bt her feild.
really nice... good lectures...tests are not easy though
one of the nicest, best teachers. very sweet, interesting lady.
GREAT teacher! Helpful and cares about the students
knows her stuff, very fair/nice... always smiling - teaches for the students!!
Professor Johnson genuinely loves what she does and she is knowledgeable about the field of child psychology. Honestly, the lextures are a little boring, but I think it's more because the students in my class are a bunch of dead beats, not her.
A wonderful lady.
She is so nice, and helpful, the tests are hard unless u study the study guides, other than that she is really knowledgeable.
Very nice lady, she loves what she does! Her tests are a little on the tough side tho so use her study guides!
She's one of the best teachers I've ever had. One of the nicest human beings as well.
ive had her for various psych classes, she is wonderful and understanding, who will go the extra mile to give you extra help
Not an easy class, but she is a great teacher and tells you what you need to do to do well. She's very enthusiastic and always cheerful.
Her classes are pretty boring, just copying notes from an overhead. She is a wicked nice lady though and is always in a good and sensitive mood. She is like Mrs. Rogers. Class is pretty difficult however.
She is a nice lady and is always smiling. Her tests are really hard however, you really need to study for a LONG time to do well. Also it was more of a biological child development class rather than child psych. It wasn't what i expected. Boring class.
dr johnson rocks my world! i found her class to be very interesting. she was intelligent, passioniate about the subject, helpful, clear, and super nice. i totally recommend her!
Prof. Johnson is a very smart woman who loves what she is doing. Her tests are very difficult, but if you are willing to go to class, take notes, and study, then you can do fine. She is a very nice woman and will give extra help if you need it.
The best teacher ever. I highly reccomend her. She is super nice, sweet, and cute. She will go completely out of her way to help any student. Her lectures are facinating and actually make you want to learn. I left her class with increased knowledge.
She's a really nice lady and really understanding. I wasn't able to be there for a test and it wasn't a medical problem and she let me take the test anyways. The class is interesting too!
Professor Johnson is one of the nicest professors I have ever had at BSC..Her class was interesting and also challenging...She is a wonderful teacher and makes you feel like what your saying is the best thing she has ever heard..I would def take her again
Nice but didnt always make sense. Dr. Johnson also had a tendency to forget a LOT
She is a great professor and always tries to make sure that the students understand what is going on. SHe is very encouraging also.
AWESOME! Sweetest lady in the world! Forgetful but oes anything she an to help
Kinda goofy and ditsy, but she's a very nice woman. Class is pretty simple... just read, pay attention and do the lame extra listening assignments.
Professor Johnson is an awesome teacher! I don't know why people keep saying she is forgetful...she never is is my class! She teaches really well and she's so nice! She also gives good study guides...if you study those the tests are easy!
Such a sweet lady and truely loves children but really hard exams and intense project. 30 hrs volunteer work or pres. in the moakley aud. Not an easy no show class but I've learned alot. Make sure you study alot with someone else in the class
one of the best profs i had so far. she is extremely sweet and so interesting. i never missed one class.
I've had Prof. Johnson for three classes now. She has to be one of the most helpful prof. at Bwater. She's very understading, and is a good conveyor of the material learned in class. She gives study guides which help on her somewhat difficult exams.
She is the nicest professor I've ever had. She is always smiling, and if you ever need help she is always willing to give you a hand. She shows alot of videos, that are interesting to the class...but you need to keep up with readings to do well on tests.
Really nice but scatter brained & ultimately makes things more complicated than they need to be
Prof. Johnson is perhaps one of the most amazing and kind-hearted professors on the campus. She is extremely sympathetic and flexible, and caring! I find it hard to believe that one can remain so positive and happy after dealing with college students! She's so nice!
Class act!!One of the best professors on campus!
SO sweet! Would do anything to help a student. She is a bit flighty though which makes it tough to follow what shes teaching. She's 1 of those people who really knows too much. I'd take her again any day even when she confuses me.
She is a super nice woman. I wasn't really crazy about this intro class, I'm sure her other classes are way better. The tests weren't that bad but she asks questions regarding chapter titles and sub-titles. (not relevant in my mind) BUT she is a really sweet and smart professor!!!
Shes extremely nice and understanding but she does get confusing. If you enjoy doing presentations infront of others, take her class, if not, DON'T!
nicest teacher ever! she gets very close to students. she invited my whole class to her house when the semester ended!! extremely nice sweet lady. she is very giddy and often times excited but is such a nice lady and good teacher. take her class.
I dont know what everyone is saying shes the worst, her test arent really aobut any of her notes. You need to read all 30 pgs of the chapters twice to pass her tests. Not an easy class to just breeze through, even though she doesnt take attendance.
She is an awesome teacher. Not only does she give great notes but she takes time to get to know her students. Very understanding and flexable. Would recommend her!!
Okay, this woman is very sweet, and very understanding, sometimes almost too nice, but you really can't complain about niceness :) Her tests are multiple choice, and if you study your notes your good, nothing to worry about, just PAY ATTENTION in class, it's not that hard, and give her respect
Nice lady, yes. KNOW the chapter titles and subtitles!! things are self explanatory as the year goes on. wasn't really interested in the class. no need to read unless there's a certain chart. just pay attention, go to class, and give her respect.
Great teacher! Very invested in students. Helpful & good lecturer
Dr. Johnson is wonderful. She is extremely helpful and understanding. What a great person!!

Very helpful any time I needed her
love her! one of my favorite people in the entire world!
best teacher ever!! shes the nicest lady in the world and she makes everyone feel so comfortable ...when u feel like a loser. Ask her to sing you opera!! Take this class she makes ur whole class best friends and i still talk to a lot of pple in my class.
Wonderful
i've had Dr. J quite a few times. she's by faaaaar one of my favorite professors at BSC. she's always willing to help with anything and is an EXCELLENT teacher! not to mention one of the best personalities around!
If you enjoy giving unnecessary presentations, take her
honestly the nicest teacher i've ever had...explains everything and is very clear...gives good review sheets for tests...as long as you go to class and take good notes you'll do good...i got an A and never read the book
She is an amazing prof. Incredibly helpful, always happy, so much energy. Just pay attention in class and read the text and you'll do just fine.
she is a nice teacher but the class really ins't that easy. the tests are kind of hard.
Dr. Johnson is awesome! I wish I had taken her for more classes. She is very intelligent and is interested in her students. Great class! If you read the text and study for the exams you will do fine. Highly recommend!
She's very nice, but very confusing. She assigns a lot of random assignments; a lot of work, but plenty of time to do it - just don't wait until the last minute to start! LOTS of reading quizzes... you have to read and understand what it's about. Good for first year seminar, but I probably won't take her again unless I have to.
She was such a fun teacher. There was always a lot of homework and class work, but nothing difficult. She was a little confusing at first because she uses blackboard and emails for everything, but you get used to it. She was extremely nice, and doesnt' give a final. We had really easy assignments that you were graded on.
She is a really good teacher , i loved this class , you just have to study for the tests and you will do fine.
Very kind lady. She is a bit disorganized and all over the place at time when it comes to her powerpoints, but she is fair and wants you to do well. extra credit is also offered.
Shes really nice, she says this is the 1st time she giving a quiz every week (which sucks cuz u have to teach yourself, dont think ive learned anything!) Powerpoints and a small project at end of semester. If you like teaching yourself and reading a lot then this class is for you! (But she is very nice, and passionate about what she does!)
Amazing teacher. She is a lot of fun. She can be very wild and sometimes unorganized but she always comes up with a second plan. She is very understanding if you have technical difficulties turning in an assignment online but she does give plenty of notice.
Awesome Professor. She really enjoys teaching and wants all her students learn and understand what she is teaching. She expects alot from you but is very fair and understanding and will give you a second chance if you did something wrong or couldn't pass something in on time. I highly recommend her.
Such a nice lady!!!!
Dr Johnson is VERY ncie, 2nd class Ive taken w/ her and would take more. 5exams, lowest dropped, small project at end of semester. She's very understanding and helpful. Very enthuastic about her work. Gives study guides w/ all material, but 2 dif exams (row1=A row2=B row3=A, etc, so u wont cheat)
such a nice person! so cute . there is alot of material to cover in psych of learning so she is sometimes a bit confusing. tests are a bit hard, but if you study you will be fine
Nicest professor in the world. Such a sweetheart, really nice with her class. Always makes you feel like you are doing well, and overall excellent person. If I were a psyc major I'd take her again.
Amazing! She is so enthusiastic and she always makes you feel like you really know the subject. The class is a little difficult, but if you pay attention and put effort in you will be fine. I recommend this class to anyone and if I could take a class again with her I definitely would!
Really nice lady but this class was pointless. she didnt teach us anything and made ud do group work every class, which i hated. and we are taking our final tomorrow and she still hasnt posted grades from things we did months ago. just an annoying class all around.
I took her for an online course and it was such a mistake. This professor was not clear at all, and really overloaded the work, I mean up to 3 papers and exam due ever week. I swear she had no idea what she was doing. She should not be teaching online classes at all. Wouldn't take her ever again.
Prof Johnson is the nicest lady ever. the class is a bit hard, but manageable. she drops the lowest test and has miltiple options. She is such a sweet person and an enthusiastic person!
I am currently taking her Child Psych class, and I hate it. I never want to come to class. She gives you a lot of information, and expects you to know EVERYTHING for the tests she gives. She gives about 5 exams, one every other week. There are 2 projects, one presentation and another assignment due 5 days after. Awful, h8s people who bring laptops.
Her "niceness" is all FAKE. It even leaks through as blatent rudeness sometimes. Any questions you may have are usually answered with, "It's in the textbook", or something equally complicated. Basically, if you can't plug your brain into a USB drive and upload the entire textbook, you're screwed. Every class is a**** blizzard of info and homework.
HATE HER! She's awful, she's SO biased against anyone who brings a laptop, she marks off whether or not you use your laptop to take notes, so she knows why you do bad on the tests. She even included a question about classroom behavior in one of her tests because people kept walking out. I don't blame them, do NOT take this class. Easy D at best.
Nice to a point where it seems almost fake and wore some really strange outfits that sometimes looked like pajamas. Class can be boring because she throws A LOT of information at you at once. Knows all of her students by name which is a plus.
Terrible teacher, she designs the course to fail. "Quizes" every other class, which are really mini-exams...checks attendance. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Should retire. Makes mistakes in lectures/on exam grades. Class was 2X/weekly. Quiz(test)/weekly. After 3 absences, she deducts 6 pts. (penalty) starting with your best quiz grade, etc. Dishonest. At end of semester, she wrote on BB, "the penalties were a bit lighter than orig. planned". Proj. due at end of semester. Would not advise taking her.
Class taken was summer session... 5 weeks and 85% web, despite these circumstances Prof. Johnson was very involved and available through Bb. 5 unit exams were open book, but very challenging nontheless. Extra credit options help boost test scores. Overall, not the easiest A, but a great course in which you will be rewarded for quality work.
Agreeable prof. Was helpful with questions. Relied heavily on textbook and powerpoint presentations, but kept the class lively with her personality. A relatively easy weekly quiz on single chapters, and community service or book report assignment at the end of the sem. Would take this prof. again.
shes nice and informative but literally sets the class up to fail it. drops 2 lowest quiz grades and there is 1 quiz every week. for every absence, she takes 6 points off your grade. that is outrageous. we are paying HER to teach but she will still fail us. i enjoyed this class until i began to stress over being sick or absent because i will fail.
sort of quirky but in a good way! so into what shes teaching! powerpoints are minimal so you do have to do some searching in your book, but she is very helpful, dsnt like laptops but wont stop u from taking notes on it. will +6pts to partic grade for no absences lots of quizes on only 1 chapter so alot of chances to improve grades drops 2 lowest
evolution seminar recomended! ddnt think id like it but i really did. learned so much & its interesting really gets you thinking about the things we do in life & why! 3 presentations 2 informal sitting down on 3 asigned pgs in the book easy A, and one longer outside presentation that you practice in class. midterm & final lets you use cheat sheet
She is such an amazing professor! Definitely one of my favorites at BSU. She loves what she teaches and it makes you want to learn, I look forward to taking her again.
She is a very nice and sweet professor although I did not enjoy her class. Your grade is based only on quizzes which she gives every other week. If you are not a good test taker i would not recommend her. I dropped the class due to her quizzes. I would not recommend this professor
I took her for Developmental. She is the nicest woman, hands down, ever. She never frowns, and is the sweetest woman you'll ever meet. Her class is hard, though. She formats her quizzes difficultly, and her powerpoints don't teach as much as they should. If you take her, read the textbook, that's how you'll pass. Her quizzes are very hard.
She is a good professor, but too many quizes one after the other.
I had her for a testosterone seminar. She is very passionate about what she is doing and is overall very nice and helpful
She is probably the hardest professor. She acts like this is your only class. You must read or you will not pass the exams. Exams are every week and wicked hard. Her lectures are pointless because test is all from notes. I don't recommend her
She's definitely quirky but still really nice. Her tests are all multiple choice and sometimes have a bonus open response question. One assignment involves community service. Another one involves a paper. My only complaint was moving through slides too fast sometimes. Overall it was an easy A and the material was pretty interesting.
She is really all over the place. Her tests are generally tricky, based on the readings rather than the class notes. She doesn't respond to emails for weeks at a time. Overall, I would not recommend her.
I absolutely love this woman as a person but as a professor she is extremely disorganized. Several students in her class have comments on feeling anxious just listening to her lecture because it is so scattered. She gives a quiz everyday and everyone fails. Tests are very difficult..
I thought i liked this professor. shes pretty hard on her quizzes that she gives--one every week on the current chapter--they were more questions that were applying the definitions instead of knowing them. i did pretty good on them (80-107) and she drops the lowest 3. i had a 94 in the class at the end she gave me a C-
If you read the chapters you will do well on her exams, she does give you a small amount of volunteer hours to do but you can get them done in 2 days. She is very helpful if you are struggling and I would highly recommend her for any psychology course.
Loved her class. Lowest quiz grade was dropped. Just read the book and go over her notes and tests are simple! She is very sweet and tries to help in anyway she can. Very understanding! Loved this class!
Professor Johnson is really passionate about psychology and it really inspires her students. You have to work for this course but it's worth it. I would take her class again and again. She provides study guides for the tests and gives plenty of extra cred opportunities. She's great!
5 week course. Critiques and grades too hard on written work. This is not a writing intensive course but treats it like one. Nice in person, but can write demeaning comments online. If you are a psych major you will like her, otherwise avoid.
Fly's through lessons, gives somewhat impossible tests although they are all multiple choice which isn't too bad. Never responds to emails. Gives 14 extra credit points on overall test average if you go to all classes.
She never responds to emails so if you need her you better talk to her in person. Tests are extremely hard and worded difficultly. I am so glad this is my last psych class because this class made me not like psych anymore.
absolutely never responds to any e-mails. does not cover everything she puts on the test in class so you have to teach a lot to yourself. tests are multiple choice but purposely makes the wording tricky and it makes no sense which causes a lot of confusion. nice lady but I honestly wouldn't recommend.
Taken for two different courses would definitely take again. Tests are often very straightforward and focus on the main points and main vocabulary. Lecture can sometimes be boring but she is definitely interested in the topics and it shows.
Dr. Johnson is the SWEETEST woman ever. If you read the chapter, and study the notes it's an automatic A, everything on the test is given to you including a study guide. She scales the tests, gives a TON of extra credit and if you attend class you get even more extra credit. My final grade was 106 or something like that. She is soooo passionate!!!!
Absolutely amazing. Hands down my favorite professor. Passionate, understanding, and very helpful. Read your book well and listen to lectures and you can get an A.
THE MOST BORING CLASS! i had her for child and social psych and it was unbearable. calls people out for cell phones, doesnt know the material, and quizes are confusing. do not recommend
Dr. Johnson is super sweet, and really cares about you succeeding in her class. She does rely on the textbook and expects for you to read and show up to class, but it's college so you should expect that. She gives learning objectives for every test, and assigns 2 project/papers. Show up, take notes & read.... You'll pass no problem!
Professor Johnson is the worst professor I have ever had. She is extremely boring and annoying. If you even Have your phone on your desk and your not using it she will make a comment about it being out. Her tests make absolutely no sense even if you study. I would never take her again and I definetly do not recommend taking a class with her.
Prof. Johnson is such a kind person and teacher! If you pay attention, take notes and read you'll ace the class. I enjoyed her lectures because she always related it to real life. She's always there for her students for any questions and wants you to succeed. I wish I could have her for all my psych courses!
Professor Johnson isn't a bad professor, but her lectures are so long and tend to get very boring. She gives 4 exams and has you volunteer for a few hours with children (anywhere you choose), and it's not hard. Her test quizzes are incredibly easy.
Don't get me wrong, Dr. Johnson is a very pleasant woman to talk to in person. However, her exams make no sense. some of the wording is confusing and the answers won't be in the reading or notes. She doesn't answer her emails either, but will email you about course notes she put online. She also isn't very organized on BlackBoard.
She is so sweet!!! Only about five exams, two of mine were online but that was just how it worked out. Study for exams and you will pass. Lectures are kind of boring but you make the best of it. Two projects, very simple and you have options. I would take her again!
She is a nice, soft spoken lady overall and i like her as a person but as a teacher i think she lacks a bit. Her study guides aren't really clear and she put all her assignments on blackboard but the way she words them is not clear. Her exams are easy but the wording she uses is very confusing. she is not organized on BB or in class. confusing!!
Dr. Johnson is a very sweet person and I learned a lot from her class. She's always engaging with her students and enjoys when students give their own input and experiences. Her tests are easy as long as you take advantage of the study guides she gives you, then you'll do fine! Always willing to help students and lectures are helpful and relevant
She's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and her lectures are engaging and easy to pay attention to. You have to study for her tests, but they aren't particularly difficult. Work load is manageable. She is incredibly caring about her students and is happy to provide extra help outside of class. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Johnson.
Unfortunately because of this professor I dropped my second major of psychology. The class is harder than it needs to be, and she expects you to learn more from the book than her class which is over $200. I would not recommend this professor to anyone. She also talks down to you like you are in third grade which is degrading.
Dr. Johnson is a MUST for any psych course. She makes learning so easy and her passion for psych makes it all worth it. She's super understandable and willing to work with you if you speak up. She posts the text pages online so you don't really need the book. A bit unorganized but nothing unmanageable. Highly recommend taking a course with her!
SUPER DISORGANIZED... everything is on blackboard but not in an easy way to find, never answers emails- super inconvenient. would not take again, very difficult course
She is the sweetest woman ever. She cares so much about each student, and knows the material very well. She lets you know what is expected of you right from the start. She does have a strict no phone and laptop policy that she enforces constantly. She is a fair grader, and her tests are super easy as long as you pay attention and take solid notes.
I think Dr. Johnson is an amazing professor, despite many of the negative reviews. She cares deeply about creating a student and teacher relationship, encourages class discussions, and helps you understand the material when you question something. Tests are straight forward as long as you study and pay attention in class
Professor Johnson is a great Child Psych Professor because she is so passionate about the subject. She is knowledgeable about studies and research conducted on all different ideas in the field, and welcomes discussion about relevant topics in class. Her assessments are pretty easy and there are plenty of opportunities for extra credit.
I loved her! Took three classes with her. Shes a very kind and caring professor. On top of being kind, shes very educated and you learn a lot! I got a lot out of this class and because of it I went on to do amazing work in the field.
The quizzes are tough, USE THE TEXTBOOK! Not everything on the test is covered in lecture. Prof. J is such a caring and wonderful woman, and is very empathetic and understanding to many situations. Show up and do the work and you'll definitely pass
really nice. quizzes are a bit complicated. but she's super caring.
Very nice woman, but her class lectures are boring. She is a tough graded and strict with no cell phones in class. She also has a strict attendance policy, and offers extra credit if you are always in class. Must read the text, as her explanations of the material is not always clear.
Super nice professor, but SO disorganized. Quizzes are easy if you read the chapters, otherwise, not at all. Her lectures are all over the place and so boring at the same time. It's hard to get clear answers from her about anything because she gets confused easily. She really cares about her students but taking her class was frustrating.
Prof Johnson is the best professor Ive had so far. She is super sweet and gives you ridiculous amounts of extra credit opportunities. posts the readings so you dont even need to buy the book. She is lecture heavy but she teaches very well and is very organized
Dr. Johnson is a great person and is super nice, but does get distracted a lot and off topic. Lectures are filled with material, some from years ago and some recent material. She tries to post lectures on blackboard, but her blackboard takes a while to adjust to and find what you need. Overall, very caring professor, extra-credit opportunities!
Prof. Johnson is passionate and enthusiastic about the material she teaches. Her methods evolve as the content changes - it's always current and relevant. She communicates with the students, answers all emails, and provides useful and instructive feedback. There is a lot about developmental psychology that I disagree with, but she kept me engaged.
Dr. Johnson has easily been the best professor I've had during my college career. She is so passionate about the material she teaches and makes herself accessible to students for any needs they have- academically or personally. Will definitely take another course with her if I have the chance to.
Professor Johnson is the sweetest lady but I made the worst decision taking her for an 8am class. All she does is lecture... at the slowest pace. She only puts one bullet point on the screen at a time and takes 15 minutes to explain one sentence. If she sees your phone she basically freaks out because It is 'distracting' to her so good luck
LOVE Dr. Johnson! Her lectures are interesting, but pay attention and take detailed class notes because she doesn't post power points, and her lectures are really important for the tests! Respect her classroom and you wont have a problem. Don't take this class if you can't sit through a lecture without looking at your phone. Study days in advance!
Professor Johnson really is a sweetheart and a pretty good professor. Her class can be a bit boring at times and she gets really triggered about phones so don't use yours. Still she is a very nice lady. I feel like if I took her class at another time rather than 8 AM i would have enjoyed going a bit more
Do the assignments, participate in class, and show up, you'll get an A. She's an amazing professor and extremely knowledgeable. I took her for Social Psych & Child Psych, wish I could take all of my classes with her.
Dr. Johnson is now my favorite professor in the psych department. She handled the COVID-19 transition to online learning SO WELL. Even though she had her hands full and was apprehensive about it, she gave us updates as soon as she could. She even provided narrated PowerPoints for a better online experience. Such a knowledgeable, caring, professor.
Nicest professor. Every meeting and lecture was meaningful and so fun. Her assignments were clear and she gave such insightful feedback. She really wants to see her students thrive. Posts recorded lectures and sometimes got a little bit behind on posting them but it didn't interfere with anything and she is so apologetic. Met once a week.
This was the most difficult summer class I have ever taken. Her due dates did not match up with the syllabus, and her exams were impossible. Nothing was in the book or online, and more than half of the questions had answers like both of these or neither which made it extremely confusing. She also never answers her emails.
Please please and please don't waste your time taking her class I made the worst decision taking her.
(Fall '23) TBH, It's barely been a year since I took this course and I don't remember much of it. It seemed more like an overall review of multiple classes I took in the past. The assigned activities were great. She's not very tech savvy but is incredibly kind and will help you out with anything you may need. Genuinely cares about her students
Avoid this course if possible - the professor's teaching style didn't work for me at all. unstuck AI was the only thing that helped with study prep.
This course is dense with information. Took asynchronously, so did not actually meet the professor, but her feedback on everything was great. She is responsive, and her grading criteria is very clear; she expects things to be done a certain way. If you do the chapter readings and put effort into each assignment, you will get an A.
Highly recommend Prof Johnson! She is knowledgeable and responds quickly to emails/inquiries. She is prompt about grading!
Overall Professor Johnson is a really caring lady and great professor. Like somebody else said, she is very strict with her grading criteria but you'll do fine if you read it and follow it. A lot of material and the Blackboard is dense and confusing sometimes but you'll get used to it. She was super helpful and sweet when I emailed her questions.
She's very willing to meet and try to understand you as a student and person
