Excellent professor. Challenges you to defend your stance on tax cases. Enjoyed her class!

Tests are very hard, I thought I did really well on the first one and it turned out I did terrible. Classes seem really long and boring as she just reads from powerpoint slides and does problems from the book. She is really helpful though.

I took tax research and planning. Spent 10-15 hours a week on this one course alone. She's kind of opinionated and her reading assignments clearly have a biased political bent. Doesn't like to be proved wrong. One final comprehensive exam worth 50% of grade. This class takes time.

Dr. Reed is a very good teacher. She knows her stuff and is very helpful. Although her exams are difficult, she does make you learn the material and she really helps to prepare you for the real-world. Expect to devote time to her course, but she means well and is one of the better professors I've had at UC in Accounting.

Hard class, makes you really learn the material, expect to devote a lot of time to get a good grade.

She is a great teacher. Her tests are hard but she gives at 10% curve to all her tests. The questions are kind of worded funny - you have to know your stuff. Your final grade is four homework assignments which make up a quarter of your grade and then three tests. The homework assignments aren't hard.

Great professor. Her podcasts are amazing if you miss class and her reviews for the exams are amazing to help one study. She knows her stuff quite well and is a blast to have class with. She know exactly what she is doing and keeps the class quite entertaining.

Great professor. Loved the podcasts for when I couldn't be in class. Also, her exam review is very helpful because it's very similar to the questions that will be on the exam.

Margaret makes tax about as simple as it's going to get. Very clear, VERY helpful, and does a lot of problems in-class. If you do your part, she will do hers.

This class was an easy 1 hour credit. She puts the class on a podcast so there is no need to go to class. I would highly recommend it.

Just go to class to understand what is going on. If you work the study guides and understand it, you have no worries. The study guides are almost the same as the exams. Also, don't drop the last test. Do good on the first 4.

Mrs. Reed is just wonderful. She's extremely helpful and sets a great example for other Accounting teachers at the University. Don't make the mistake of graduating from the University of Cincinnati without having at least one class with Reed. :)

Dr Reed is extremely helpful and willing to work with students! Her exams were challenging, but she provides practice exams which are good study aids. I would definitely recommend taking her classes.

Dr. Reed is one of the most valuable assets of the University of Cincinnati. The lectures are very relevant to the course material and full of real world examples.Dr. Reed lays great emphasis on college activities and organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi. These resources help students to gain an insight in the accounting profession.

Dr. Reed is the most helpful professor I've found on campus. In addition to knowing the material front and back, she takes the time to mentor her students and help them find their career path. Just try to find another professor that has the heart for teaching that she does. Her classes are not easy, but hard work results in good knowledge.

Very pleasant teacher. Thought she was very helpful with any questions you may have. Seemed concerned about preparing students for their careers,and has very helpful advice. Exams can be challenging, but fair. Avoid having Wallace Wood if ever possible for this course, can't ever imagine having him for this course. Lucky to have Professor Reed!

The class is easy as long as you do all of the practice problems at the end of each chapter. Dr. Reed provides a practice exam before each test which also helps you prepare. She is a GREAT tax teacher. You can tell she loves what she does and is always willing to extend a helping hand to her students.

Great professor- very thorough and offers a lot of easy participation points if you go to class often. Gives plenty of practice problems to prepare you for exams. She is also easy to follow and consistent.

Class was Easy. I payed a little bit of attention and I did okay. Reed makes they class easier than it needs to be.

Professor Reed provides practice tests that make the material easier to understand. She is very clear during class lectures, and is extremely helpful if you have any questions. I would recommend for students to take her class.

She was very helpful, and interested in teaching us the material. often, she put out additional information, such as who was hiring accountants, what programs were likely to be the most sought after for graduation and in the workforce, and helpful tax timelines. she also offers podcasts of her classes.

Very helpful teacher. The practice tests given are exactly like the actual tests, just with different numbers obviously. So if you follow along with her on review day you will do just fine on the exams.

I really like her as my professor. If you study well for her class, you will definitely do well in her class. The textbook she use is very easy to understand and the examples on the textbook is crystal clear. Overall, she is a very knowledgable professor!

The course is hard to me because I need to remember many items. But some bonus points homework are useful such as form 1040.

Professor is great. If you follow her in class, do practice problems, and get extra points she gives you ll do good. The book is worded bad, but she gives information very clear, her methods do work.

This class is difficult due to the content. There is a lot of information to remember. However, Dr. Reed is great at communicating the lecture materials to her students. She takes the time to get to know every one of her students. Her bonus points assignments helped boost my grade!

She is my favorite professor. I believe all professor should be like her. She does very good job at teaching. Courses are very hard. You might give up in the middle. However, she makes it manageable, but she makes sure you learn.

The course is difficult due to material but Professor Reed does a great job teaching it and is always open to helping you. She is prepared with helpful chapter PowerPoints and completes example problems in class. Attendance is not mandatory but going to class is helpful. Professor Reed offers bonus points from book problems.

Class wasn't "difficult," just a lot to remember. Pay close attention to ppt slides and read over the book before class.

I wish there was more time to go over the material. She doesn't leave room for questions in class, however has an online site where you can post the question. She seems to know the material and breezes through it. She does offer bonus point quizzes to boost your overall grade. Take advantage of them! The tests are difficult so be well prepared.

Pretty easy professor. She may be teaching an extremely boring subject, but she makes the class very easy. Averaged a low C on exams and I got a B. Very easy to get an A if you study. Show up to class for in-class activities, do the homework, and this will be an easy class.

Great teacher to take for Managerial Accounting! Attendance isn't mandatory but do the homework, go to class for in class assignments and do decent on the exams and you can definitely get an A or B in the class

Overall nice lady & professor. If you enjoy accounting, this will be a breeze for you. If you don't get it so much, there are a LOT of points other than tests for you to get a good grade. She does use Connect+ for HW (has check my work!) so even though she has PPs for the whole term, you'll need the code. Gives a formula sheet for every test.

Professor Reed was extremely nice and helpful. She assigned 14 homeworks and had 14 in-class assignments (which were super easy) then she dropped the lowest 4 homeworks and in-class activities. The tests are not hard if you go to class. 6 exams, each worth 50 points and 10 of the points were "Click true if you want 10 free points."

Awesome professor. She is so nice and her / her TA's are more than happy to help in any way. Do the homework and in-class assignments (which she posts the dates to on her syllabus) and you will do fine. Has 6 exams but are only worth 50 points a piece and you gt 10 pts free. Lectures are all online as well as power points. 10/10

Only need to go to 10 classes to get participation points, gives 6 tests but that's helpful as there are noncumulative and have less info on each. I got an easy A in the class but didn't learn much at all since she gives formula sheets for the tests need textbook in order to access online homework

Reed's class was great. Don't get me wrong, I HATE accounting, and really had a hard time going because of it. BUT she is very helpful, her tests aren't that hard, she puts on the syllabus what days the in-class assignments are, & puts her lectures online if you don't feel like going. Overall, if you have to take Managerial, take her. 10/10

She's a great professor. She drops 4 lowest homework & participation grades and you should get 100% participation-wise. Tests are okay, there's 10 extra points added to each one. Overall, she's really fair with everything. Do okay on the tests & homework & you can easily get a B.

Tests are super easy if you put in 45 minutes the night before. Most answers can you used by plugging in numbers to the formula sheet, and you get 20% for showing up. Show up when there are in class assignments

I loved Professor Reed. I HATE accounting, but she made it bearable. She really knows the material, and she knows how to convey it. This was the first semester she posted the dates for in-class activities, so you really only need to show up on those days. Doesn't take attendance, lectures are online. The tests are all straight-forward. Take her!

I took her for the study abroad Mexico class and it was a blast! I highly recommend it! She is a fantastic teacher and doesn't give homework. There are only about 5 quizzes and they are super easy and all online. The class is only once a week and then the trip at the end of the semester which lasts around 9 days!

Professor Reed is great. I'm not into accounting but she keeps it light, not too in-depth or boring. You'll have one online homework per week usually (can be googled). In-class participation is scheduled so you'll know when to show up. Tests aren't bad at all, went over the study guide night before and got all A's.

I really hated Financial Accounting, so I was nervous for Managerial, but Prof. Reed actually made me enjoy accounting a lot. She's really helpful in and out of class and offers easy points. Do the homeworks and make a quizlet for concept terms for the tests -- that was a huge help.

Just an unreal professor. Lectures keep you very engaged and are EXTREMELY useful! 10/10 would recommend this professor.

Easy class if you did good in Financial Accounting. She has a clear grading rubric and gives good lecture notes.

All around good professor. Like any accounting class it can be repetitive and boring, just listen and understand the concepts you will get an A. She gives you 10 free points and allows you to use an equation sheet for the exams. Homework is extremely easy and due weekly. Needless to say you need to put effort into failing this class.

Professor Reed is clearly experienced and knowledgable in accounting and can effectively communicate concepts to even the dumbest of students. She grades on easy homework, in class activities (dates listed on syllabus), and frequent tests. She drops a lot of low grades and is very fair. Pay attention and do some decent work and you'll get an A.

Participating in Professor Reed's class will make all of the difference. It will help you learn the content, help you prepare for the exams, and make your time in Managerial Accounting so much easier. She is an awesome professor and I highly recommend her!

Reed is definitely a solid choice for managerial accounting. She drops 4 out of 14 homeworks, and drops 4 out of 20 participations. She also gives 10 free points on all of her tests that are out of 50 points. I got 35/50 or 40/50 on every exam and got an A in the class. If you do the easy homework and show up to class you will get at least a B.

She was fair and I learned a ton. My only A was in her class. I am in the graduate tax program.

Her tests are hard if you don't understand the math aspects of the class. She is nice and helpful if you need it. You have a required in-class activity on Excel almost every class and it has to be 100% accurate to get full credit. She works through it as a class but changes one number right at the end so you have to pay attention. Not too bad.

She is boring and talks slowly, but it is so easy to get an A. Homeworks are a piece of cake, and 4 of them are dropped. 4 In-Class participation activities are dropped, too. I showed up just to do the graded Excel activities at the end, did not pay attention at all, and got an A with no effort. Redo homeworks before exams!

Professor Reed was very interactive and attempted to make her lectures as sittable as possible, though some were snooze fests. There are in-class assignments, so don't skip too many lectures. Class should be an A as long as you pay attention to the practice exams.

Reed clearly outlines how to succeed in the class, and if you do that, its an A. She generally cares for her students and their success and often gives out her basketball tickets as rewards if she cannot make the game.

Good professor that was helpful. HWs can be long but aren't too bad, only two exams.

Professor Reed is a good teacher but talks extremely slow. Homeworks can be hard and the way they grade excels is unfair. If you get one cell wrong, it will take off 20% of the weekly excel grade which is a load of baloney. The exams are challenging and some questions make no sense so make sure to study extremely hard for it. It is hard to fail.

Great professor. You don't have to go to class as attendance is not mandatory and all the lectures are posted online. Each week theres a smartbook and hw due by the end of the week and there are four exams that are easy if you go through the homework and the practice tests given. Open book/notes for tests.

DR. REED IS THE BEST!! She prepares her students for all the exams and is very understanding. She works on the HW assignments in class with students, records all lectures, & gives practice questions. She rounds grades and she does not do + or - grades. Also she gave my entire Wednesday night class 50 extra credit points each. YOU WANT TO TAKE HER!!
