Horrible prof. Claims to be there for students but doesn't provide help- and teaching methods are terrible.

She doesnt go over reading, objectives or material.. she has high expectations but does not explain assignments and paper well. Its hard to know what she expects so difficult to do well in her class...GOOD LUCK :(

She is the worst prof I've had in all my years in University. It is almost impossible to understand what she is saying, and if you can comprehend what she is saying, her lectures have no context with the course. She is also a really hard marker, but she doesn't tell you what she is really looking for in the papers you write. Paper returns are 4ever

If you can switch out, do it. She is a crazy hard marker, much tougher than the profs of the other sections. She told our class we were the worst students she'd ever had, and that she was generous marking the papers and that most of us should have failed. I have never had so stressed about a course, and it was because of her, not the content!

NOT a good professor at all. She's a nice and funny person but her teaching style does not work for most of the students. She has a different way of thinking so she makes no sense most of the time. Switch if you can. I stressed so much about this course because of her. Most will get C. The only way to pass is to think like her.

WOW - This professor is a very hard marker. Therefore...make sure you study for quizzes/tests that are based on the textbook because that will help you pass the course. She has a poor attitude and comes across as abrasive. She is very slow at returning assignments. Have her check your work several times before submitting your essays/assignments!!!

I have not had this teacher, but I felt compelled to warn people. Straight A students have left her class in tears due to horrible marks on papers. She marks incredibly hard, and is unclear on her expectations. It's difficult to get clear direction & help from her. Overall a very stressful teacher. If you can, try to take Josephine Wong for theory

Midterm/finals are based from textbook readings, so study from that religiously. She is a very hard marker for essays thus make sure to have multiple appointments with her and not the TA. Be clear, detailed and concise for any assignment. I passed with an A- so her course is passable as long as you put in the work and effort. GOOD LUCK :)

She is not the type of professor you often see on the campus. Rather she's more like a general very tough. She is a hard marker but her course is still passable if you put effort. Good luck if you have her.

Incredibly frustrating being in her class this past winter. She is difficult to get a hold of and does not address students' concerns appropriately. I sent her an email and she didn't answer any of my questions. I find her to be very unprofessional. You're better off switching professors.

She was the course lead and designed the course such that students were giving lectures. Her exams were ridiculous, the readings were not reflected in the exams. Exam questions were long, wordy and hard to comprehend since there were grammar errors. No textbook but there were articles. No ppt slides were provided.

First off I respect this professor's academic credentials and experiences however this does not necessarily directly influence her teaching ability. The way the course Is designed, students essentially teach one another. Her assignment evaluation standards are unorthodox at beSt. Have mercy on your GPA if you have her.

I respect her all her research - not the best Zoom instructor. Adamant about not asking questions about coursework during class. A lot of students fear approaching her to ask about anything. Loves talking about being Brazilian. The "tough love" people say she gives isn't worth the headache during your fourth year. Switch out if you can. Please.

Terrible! One of the worst professors I have EVER had. She makes the students feel powerless and we don't feel like we can approach her with questions. Very unclear about her expectations for assignments and marks as if every student will become a nurse researcher or PhD candidate. I've had tough love professors but she's straight up mean.

WORST PROF EVER IN MY ENTIRE UNIV LIFE. I'm in my 4th year and she gave an F to my assignment that worths 30% with no feedback. She literally gave me and my class mates 46% while other profs graded around 70% on this assignment. Marking is very SUBJECTIVE which will fail you. Focus on APA but she has specific things that she want for that.

Avoid this prof at all costs. Her marking is extremely subjective and she provides little to no feedback on assignments. She doesn't even stick to the guidelines she sets and is very hostile when you ask for any guidance.

The rudest professor I have ever had. If you have her, try your best to switch out. Her rubric feedback is minimal if anything. She's very rude when you ask for clarification.... which is odd since this is her job. Very tough marker even when you follow the rubric. I am honestly appalled how she still has a job as a professor.

This is perhaps the worst professor in the whole nursing program. Her marking criteria are primarily based on her subjective opinion as opposed to a proper rubric. Gives VERY unclear instructions about assignments, usually contradictory to what course leads and other professors are saying. Tough marker with little or no good feedback. Unnecessarily bullies students when asking valid question. Lectures are often off topic. Advice - advocate for yourself and each other. Its your education and your marks.

Very tough marker. Unclear instructions - says to follow the syllabus, which should be the same for all sections, but adds her own rules. Attend class or you'll miss these rules and your marks will be abysmal. She is very condescending when asked questions in class, yet does not appreciate us asking the TA or other profs for clarification. What????

She's so condescending and makes you feel incompetent. Very particular w/ what she wants but what she wants doesn't follow the syllabus or the course lead's instructions. This class is based around having team work and collaboration, and good, motivational leaders; leadership. this professor yells at students with passive aggressive tone. When asked questions she will not answer your questions and only yell at you to tell you look at APA & syllabus. Extremely unhelpful, rude and contradicts content she teaches

One of the worst professors I have ever had in my entire nursing degree. She makes fun of students, provides zero feedback and virtually no material to succeed on the assessments which is why her class averages are one of the lowest. I have literally never done a rating until now because of how awful this class was. If you can switch out, DO IT!

AVOID THIS CLASS. She makes up her own criteria and grades subjectively. She is extremely rude in class and when answering emails. I didn't know it was possible to be so scared of someone behind a screen. This class made me extremely anxious, I had to go to a therapist and was put on antidepressants. If you're prone to anxiety, RUN.

This prof isn't it, I don't even know where to start. The class itself is already so bad and she just makes it worse. Whoever said that she's a good prof is lying, they probably got paid because that is not an honest review. If you can switch profs, do it. This professor was not professional and lacks compassion throughout the class which is a critical skill in nursing. Despite teaching about emotional intelligence, this professor lacks it. This has to be one of the most disappointing classes I have ever attended throughout nursing school. This issue also stems from the course itself.

I really worked hard for the course, I finally came to conclusion that impressing the professor was harder than the material given or the assignments.

I'm okay with professors that correct you when you're wrong and are "strict". I'm not okay with not receiving the rubrics for assignments, not being able to discuss assignments in detail, being in an environment where I feel like I can't ask for help, and receiving feedback that is unclear & confusing. I spent more time stressing than learning. Sad

It really sucks that students have to pay so much tuition to deal with this course although they are already so busy with all the placement shifts

If you see her on your timetable, switch out. Difficult to grasp content through her accent & she doesn't even use PowerPoints. Makes students discuss a topic that barely relates to the "lesson" for > 1 hour. Didn't learn anything & lost time I could've spent doing anything else. With every week, I watched students diminish from 100 students to 5.

She speaks too quietly half the time and it's hard to understand due to her accent. Watch the number of students in her class decline rapidly. Hardly ever answers emails on time, doesn't seem to care. Avoid as much as you can

The worst professor I've ever had. She is rude, unwillingly to answer questions, does not reply to emails. By the end of the semester no one showed up to class because she is uncapable of preparing you for the actual course content.

Reaching out does nothing. After getting her to provide a more in-depth test review, she left my emails unanswered and didn't give any information on where to meet her for the review. When I got information, she delayed the meeting the day of and didn't show up to the rescheduled meeting.

Can't understand anything through the mask and accent. Does not help that she is teaching a useless class, but she does not add any value to it in her lectures. They probably made attendance mandatory because they knew that students would not show up otherwise. The prof combined with this class makes for the most painful 3 hour lecture of your life

This course is useless, and Margareth is not a good prof. Impossible to understand her due to the accent and she doesn't say anything meaningful during class. She doesn't know the instructions for her own assignments and gets confused and worked up over it. Her TAs are incompetent and don't know how to grade properly

Margareth is not engaging, difficult to understand, and is the definition of unhelpful. She probably cares more about her dandruff than her own students. She'll make you hate that tenure exists, and makes TMU faculty look like a joke. Good luck trying to reach out to her via email, because she will probably ignore you, or send an unhelpful response

Just to preface- she reads all of these ratings & does not care about what students think about her. She is a terrible professor to the point where I sat at the front of the lecture & still did not learn anything. She is rude to many of her students who participate & reminds them that they are insignificant as she has her masters and we do not.

In my four years of being a nursing student I dont think I have ever met a person more unfitting to be a professor than Margareth. I genuinely get depressed knowing that she makes six figures. This was by far the worst learning environment I've ever been in. She does not teach rather she beats down on you and makes you feel horrible for asking questions and sharing your thoughts.

She yaps for 3 hours. No information on assessments are given in class. Absolutely useless prof for a useless and pointless class. She is very unorganized and doesn't post the correct class slides. Switch out of her section if you can.

You will struggle to keep your eyes open. Uses the full 3 hours for a 30 slide deck. Difficult to understand. Expert yapper, goes off on at least 6 different tangents per lecture. Not lenient or understanding over missed assignments or discussion posts so expect nothing from them. A total nightmare in the most boring sense.

Switch out if you can. The only reason I got a good mark was because I had an amazing TA. She goes on a tangent and half the time no one knew what she was saying. I don't think she even knew what she was saying. She's very rude, and heavily criticizes students works in front of the class. Extreme yapper. Annoying voice.

I have never seen a professor care less about the success of their students. Somehow she was always late on giving back graded assignments despite having multiple TAs to help with grading. She was a very strict grader. She gave our class an extension for an assignment then revoked it last minute. Avoid being in her class at all costs.

Instructions are unclear. MZ will talk on and on, but nothing relevant to the course itself. It is all about her achievement, how tough she is. Not recommended at all
