tests are impossible
no help...makes mistakes on grades....is not available EVER
Mediocre lecturer, tests the details, will kill you if your cell rings
ditsy, rude, in her own world, god forbid she recognizes you...
accidently sent an email to EVERYONE calling a particular student stupid
she hates you already
Huge ego - Very rude. Her Dr. has gone to her head.
Her self-rightous antics will effect your grade. Drastically.
(shudder)
horrible.
She gave students ZEROs for marking a pink test as being RED!
sat in on class and was amazed at her lack of knowledge, rudeness. very abrasive
Worst teacher I've ever had.Complete lack of respect for students!!!!
Her class is like diarrhea, painful and never ending.
very unorganized, disrespectful to students, very proud to be mexican
Um...yeah it's in the book, I think not. Always complaining....BLAH!
Seriously a disrespectful professor to her students, she should not be teaching.
she gave me nightmares :(
No Make Ups, No Excuses, No Exceptions...
Don't you dare come in late!
very bad attitude problem
refuses to assist students in need of help, outright rude to students
10,000 emails shows her inability to teach ... no emails no make ups
She speaks spanish in class alot.
Good professor, but short on patience.
Shes a bit mean.. and need to learn how to dress
DO NOT come to my office to discuss your failure to take the exam properly
Good Gawd... don't throw daggers at me...
She doesn't have to care about the students... so she doesn't.
2ignoring
Dr. Gonzalez deserves so much more credit than she is given.
she's a good professor. I like her attitude
need to learn to speak clearly and properly
purely evil.. wants you to fail
One of the worst professors.
Rudest teacher ever!!!
do not sign up for her class if you cannot follow directions
worst professor ever, VERY RUDE and unhelpful to all students, needs to be fired
rude, arrogant, just plain mean, needs to stop teaching if doesn't like students
Expects you to know spanish, doesn't care about students. Obscure stuff on tests
her class is like diarrhea, painful and never ending- don't take it!!!!!!!!!
Overall good experience in her class...she is tough, but very informative.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! she mixes up her OWN notes!!!
WORST teacher i have ever had in my entire life; downright MEAN!
Make sure you sit in the back of the class.... she farts a lot.
Unfair tests based on irrelevant material.
very mean tacher, rude to students, tests irrelevant to notes. needs to be fired
awful teacher....very hard to do well in this class no recommended
awful experience: one of ucf's worst.
I had a team-teach with her and Chavda. It was my worst nightmare come true. She is completely scatterbrained and made us do the most ridiculous group project which took FOREVER because she could never figure out exactly what it was she wanted from us!
I had elementary school teachers less concerned about where students sat in class. Very annoying women. Class isn't really hard, but not thanks to her. It's just basic material.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!
Terrible. Makes class way more difficult than it should be. You will NOT make an A in this class, and will be lucky to get a B. Don't waste your money.
good class, HARD tests!!!!!!
Made class harder than it had to be, terrible, yelled at people for no reason, told people they suck :( :( :(
After failing this class the first time i took it i can honestly say she has made it easier... but it is still very hard. She has added tests, dropped the lowest grade and added an extra credit assignment. I still recomend you avoid this class.
she has LIED to students about class notes given while they were absent....and there are no make-ups, so don't bother getting sick or letting any family members die during the semester....or just don't take this perra's class....
Very up tight teacher, no concern for students. Don't ever try to dis-agree with her. She is often wrong, even on test questions. No make ups for whatever reason. Bad bad teacher, treats students like criminals!
she is not that hard, if you read the book and come to her lectures you will pass easily with atleast a B. Plus she gives a lot of extra credit assignments.
If she likes you, you will be set. Just pay attention and study what she tells you
Faulty test questions on every test given. Usually late and hates for that to be pointed out to her. Gave out teacher evaluations at the beginning of the semester before everyone knew how she really is.
Seems to know her stuff, but doesn't have much consideration for students. Also, she tried to use WebCT to give tests and they were just all messed up (this was Spring 2002 so it might be better now...).
Tests were all screwed up, put things we had never heard of on them. Absent on test days frequently, doesn't care about the students at all. Too bad this class is required for a few majors.
Dr. Gonzalez is a great person. She is a good professor who doesn't treat you like you're in high school. Her exam questions are a bit irrelevant, but if you study, listen to lectures, and take notes you should be fine and pass the class.
Great professor!!!
The lady isnt so bad, I believe its the content she must teach. Memorize Slides, Take a test. She can be a bit mean but nothing too hard. Study and do well, dont complain about what she has done and you will be fine.

she's terrible. Very mean and has no concern for students at all. On top of that the class in itself is really hard. Take it only if you have to
This is actually my easiest class. Read the book, listen to the lectures, take the exam. Very simple. She's not as mean as people seem to think she is. Just be a responsible student and you'll have no problems.

AVOID HER AT ALL COSTSThis is the worst teacher I have had in my 2 years here. Even ADVISORS SAY DON'T TAKE HER. She is mean to students especially if your cell phone even beeps. She seems to enjoy making people feel bad as well.
The class is not too bad, but she is a mean person. She hates people in general, so if you like laid back proffessors avoid her. Her tests are not hard at all, you just have to take notes and read the book. And easy B or A.
She's actually very easy cause whatever she says in class is in the book. She might be a bit mean at times but basically is an ok teacher.
People say she is "mean", but I think she seeks control of the class by intimidation, which to me is not the proper way to go about teaching. However, outside of class she doesn't seem as harsh. Overall, this is my hardest class. Take at your o
Her tests are hard! you can know EVERYTHING and still not get an A. Study the BOOK!! Her lectures aren't even the same facts as the book. Her opinions become facts for the test.
This woman is out to get you, she has extremely abrasive opinions and isn't afraid to share them. Her exams are extrememly difficult and it seems as though they do not come form lecture so don't bother going to class.Read the book, or just plain DROP!!
Don't take this class to satisfy Gen Ed requirements. Tests are hard if you dont study all of the time. This woman has a sick obsession with belittling people and making them feel bad. It's rather disturbing. Leave your cell phone on and you'll see.
her tests are aweful. half of what is in them seems to come neither from her lectures or the book. she brings her views that have nothing to do with art history into the class and takes entire class periods ranting about feminism. she sucks all around.
she sucks. thats all i can say.
we like to refer to her as the evil gonzo, like gonzo the clown....any questions-studying ofr exams are impossible becasue no matter what she says they're on- they're not.
Don't take this class!!!It sounds easy, right? But she thinks just because she gives a damn about art history that everyone else should too. She gives no notes, just babbles for fifty minutes a day, gives impossible tests.
this professor rambles, her notes are never together. i thought that i could get through the class because i have an interest in the class but thtas not working. Noone has made an "A" on the last two test. She is rude to students.
omg... if you don't have to take this class, don't. seriously, her tests are insane because what she puts on her tests isn't really what she told you to study.... basically, she just sucks..
"At this point, I dont care if students learn or not. I get payed just the same either way" These are her EXACT words.I studied for hours (flash cards, image cards, reading the book) and only got an 88. Over 400 students, and that was the highes
This class is a BEAST. No matter how hard you study, hoping for a C is a good thing. I have spent countless hours reading and studying and still get pissed when i get my grades. Don't take this class unless you are a poor art major like me...:-(
Very Hard!!! Not nice at all. Points out students whose phone rings or leave early. She is even mean to you when you volunteer to do a presentation (for bonus). Tests are random and very hard! Must memorize book and go to every class! Avoid this class!

NEVER EVER LET YOUR CELL PHONE RING IN CLASS. I took her in the summer and got a C-. Overall, the class was alright, the tests were a little tricky. If you take her, take her in the summer!

My friend was valedictorian at her high school and she failed this class. She studied countless hours but still failed. The average grade of her class was a D+. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She doesn't want you to pass
This class sucks! Now it is time to get even. Boycott this class at all costs! If UCF wont fire her, lets send UCF a message. If you MUST take this class then take it at Valencia and save your GPA or else find a different class to fulfill your gen eds.
Class lectures are actually ok to listen to. She gives A LOT of reading material & memorization on exams which are tricky for some reason, even tho they seem straight forward. Extra credit is given!
This is not a good class to take as an elective. If you are not required to take this class then don't stress yourself. If you are not a good listener she speakes very fast. No reviews for exams which contain alot of information from several chapters.
THIS CLASS IS SO BORING....If I didn't need this for my major, I would have never taken this class. Mrs. Gonzalez or should I say Dr. Gonzalez downgrades her students. She definetely forgets that if it wasn't for us, she wouldn't have a job!
EXTREMELY difficult, if this class isn't required, don't take it. i would advise waiting a year or so just to see if a different teacher teaches it. i studied at least 30 hours a week for this class alone.
She is by far the worst teach i have had during my college years. If you don't NEED to take her class, then don't. It is a fact that you will get a bad grade. She is no help to students and her teaching methods don't work. She doesn't know how to teach.
This class does require a lot of studying, but it preps you for the next: art history 2... if you can't handle this course, then you'll have a very difficult time with arh2051, (with Dr. Martin)
Dr. Gonzales sets up her students for failure and discourages questions and visiting her office. The class was interesting, but do not take it if it is not required for your major.
Just want to let everyone know she is easier than Martin even though her tests are longer. Martin is a better teacher though
shes a tad obsesed with fertility rites and other non-proven items
This class is horrible. Professor is rude and unhelpful and it is a shame for art majors that this class is required because it does not help you. It is hard to make a good grade because it is not organized and has no exam review.
Great teacher to have! Very kind and helpful, willing to work with individuals. Big on discussions and class participation which helps to make time go faster and class more interesting. Highly reccommended.
she may not be a GOOD teacher. but the class is not impossible. most importantly you HAVE to go to class & take notes. study the images she gives you. and you should be fine. most of the complaints are from people too lazy to actually go to class.
very rude and demeaning individual. she needs to learn this isn't high school and treating people like children won't get her very far @ UCF. I'd love to see her try and steal someone's cel fon and 'throw it away' as she claims she will. I'd sue her.
Her class is not impossible to pass, but her character is sometimes unnerving. She likes give people an attitude if you do anything she doesn't like (like leave early or sleep) and I hate it that she stops lecture to yell about the person who's leaving.
She can be a BIT. I never really went to the lectures. But the tests are all on the material in the book and notes from class. I did pretty well on most of the tests, but I got notes from people who went to class.
Dr. Gonzales has no regard for any of her students and relishes in their failure. The class is difficult, but there is an opportunity to raise your grade by a letter if you are willing to go to Tampa or do a 15 minute presentation in front of 500 people.
She is very rude toward students during class. She maked the tests hard because she likes to use trick questions, then deny using them. I would reccommend checking out VCC for a better professor. It's probably easier there too.
Not an easy class, but you are an idiot if you fail. She has her bad moments (don't ever let your cell ring) but outside of class she really does want to help you. She offers a huge extra credit opportunity worth 10%. Avoid her in other classes if you can
WORST TEACHER EVER!!! Do NOT take this class if you do noy have to!!! Run away, get as far from this teacher as possible. If you do have to take this class, I pitty you! I attended every class, studied my ass off and still managed to almost fail. RUN!
This is a good class if you LOVE art. But if you don't abo****ly love art, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! Her some questions on her test are really detailed and strenuous.

This class was horrible! I got an A, but had to spend hours on end studying, more than my other classes combined! offers a 10% extra credit opportunity on overall grade, but grades it very strictly. tests are tricky! take only if u have to
This class is not that bad just the his of india part. the tests were easy once i got the hang of her questions, she also offers extra credit maps for every test. her attitude sucks but shes nicer in this class and actually interesting
This woman is psycho... by all means necessary do not take her course. If you have her in the morning be prepared for bi+ch mode! Horrible teacher. Does not care about students or their grades
She is the worst teacher I have ever encountered during my college career. She makes you feel stupid, and has no respect for other human beings. The questions on the test are very tricky. DO NOT take this class if you do not absolutly have too.
The class is really not that bad: exams are very predictable following the first, and class lectures tend to stick to exam questions. And if you think she's 'mean' you just probably did poorly in the class, or you're an uppity Sorority sister.
Incompetent, inpassionate, feminist, unintelligence, not willing to help students, passes work onto her slave helpers, hates students, will fail you if she can. Worst experience at UCF.

terrible, thats all i have to say

Horrible Teacher, Stubborn and a biggot
not a good teacher at all. not helpful, tests are very hard. i studied a lot and still did poorly.
By far the hardest class yet for a Gen Ed. I cant even begin to describe. Offers some extra credit, but you have to drive to like Tampa.I got a D after trying rediculously hard. And Im not a sorority sister and I like art!
eceedingly rude to students. I sent her an email about what i should do if i got a -2 on the exam after seeing that there were several -2 scores posted. She replied "you shouldnt be concerned with the grades of other students" CANNOT TEACH IN A LARGE CLASSROOM DONT TAKE HER FOR ARH 2050
This is probabaly the worst professor at UCF, she has horrribly long lectures that are extremely unclear and hard to figure out what she is getting at. She has NO IDEA what she is talking about half the time, especially when dealing with classical arts, don't take her!!!!
Mrs. Gonzalez is a horrible teacher!!!!!! Her tests are soo hard. I studied so hard for this class and still failed! She has a study group but it is during a time when most other people have classes. I hate this class!!!! And I really hated this teacher
Horrible, art history is my major and I was so dissapointed by her teaching...if that's what you want to call it. She is very unclear about her exams...which are impossible to study for and the extra credit she offers is ridiculous too...avoid her if you can!!!
Dr. Gonzalez is a rude mean lady. I emailed her for help about my grade and she replied"I went over that in class" She definetly doesnt help any of her students. She doesnt care if they fail either. Exams are soo hard you have to devote all your study time for this class to get an A! Horrible teacher
Outside of class she's a pretty nice person (she could be somewhat funny) but I wouldn't recommend any freshmen to take this class if they don't have to. The test's are hard (the answers could be any of them). Sometimes she goes over 1 chapter in 30 min. when the chapter is 70 pages long. Gives E.C.
I don't understand all these other reviews, sounds like they didn't study. The class is difficult, but if you study and take good notes, it's not too difficult. Lectures are very good -- a very informative class overall. Very clear on expectations. Excellent professor overall.
Gonzalez is rude to her students, and especially her TA's. Ridiculous. She does NOTHING for her students, she is never in her office. And my favorite part: she leaves right after every exam and flies to Mexico so you can't go to talk to her about your final grade. How convenient for her!
This class was so easy...just read the book...but pro.Gonzalez was horrible. She was a meanrude lady. I know alotpeople that failed her class. She was so mean and rude to her TAs. She doesnt respond to emails either..& dont ask questions becuz she will never answer you even though she asks if u have
Worst teacher I ever had! and Ive had some bad ones. She has okay lectures but her tests are so difficult. I am waiting to find out if I passed this class. A Gen Ed class should not be this hard! I went to her for help a couple of times and left with nothing. She is a horrible teacher!!
Dr. Gonzales warns you when you first take her class - the course if difficult- if this is you only class than take her, but if not... her class covers a lot of information and her test are really misleading. you may think the test is easy and then you find out you failed! Good Luck :)
You must be very passionate about Art History to enjoy her class! All who complained about her just didnt study; shes not that bad. She does use trickery on the exams but I pulled an A by studying more than I ever had. If you arent willing to read the book cover to cover, avoid this class

Easy class. Attendance is taken every day, but it's not hard to sit through the class. Lots of guest speakers--some are kind of boring. Not a lot of work. Just do the work assigned and it's an easy A. Everyone in my class had an A, even the ones who shouldn't have. She'e really nice and helpful.
PLEASE don't take this class. I have never studied this much for tests and I still failed her class. I went every day and took the best notes and it didnt help. Her tests are so confusing and difficult.
Easy class. Anyone who whines about it is just a slacker. I got a B without even owning the book. Interesting material and decently paced.
she can't seem to teach, no matter how hard she tries
Though her personality isn't very appealing, she does teach well and the class isnt difficult as long as you attend every lecture and study. It does take a good amount of your time however. Not recommended if you have a heavy workload without the class.
Gonzalez is horrible! she doesn't help students AT ALL. she doesnt answer Q's after class, and although she offers extra credit, its really hard to get all the points for it. TEST ARE REALLY HARD! if you dont have to, dont take this class. out of 400 in my class, 2 got As, the rest? Cs and below.
Mean rude lady who does not help you if you go to her ofice, doesnt respond to emails, 2 types of extra credit, she gives good lectures but her exams are so hard. she is so mean she made me cry one day i went to talk to her about my grade
Terrible teacher. The sad thing is for some majors you are required to take her class because no one else teaches ARH 2050
She is a mean lady. She doesnt respond to emails and she is rude when you do to her office. Her lectures are informative but you need to read and memorize the whole book because exams are so hard. You cant just read the book you have to study it for hours and MEMORIZE alot.worst class EVER.hate her!
She is immature and acts like a student. She whines if no one listens to her. When she lectures she doesn't sound like she knows what she is talking about and even contradicts the book. Her tests are horribly unclear. There are several questions that could go either way, and she flat out sucks
Uggh...
I am so happy to be finished with AMH 2050. While taking exams, Dr. Gozolez interrupted my class to ask if someone could mow her lawn and teach her card games. The tests are straight-forward if you know the material well. Do the extra credit!!! If you visit museums and fill out 10 worksheets she adds 8 points to your final grade!
She is a nice lady. Her class is at high school level, if you get below a C or below it's your own fault. Just know the material, as in read and write notes. If you do the extra credit, shes adds 8pnts on the whole grade. I think that is pretty darn nice, plus she will bump your grade. I was mislead by all these bad comments. I took summer though.
I took her for summer B, and her class really wasn't that hard especially since it was my very first class at UCF. I got a 'B' without a lot of stress. I'm in the process of getting my grade re-looked at beings I believe she gave me the wrong grade. Just read the book and take notes, its not that bad! (I guess she's easier for summer)
It was an alright class. Be prepared to teach each other the chapters - most lectures are done by students (in Honors class). She cares alot about her students, and while her eccentric attitude may clash with some students, I thought she was pretty good overall.
most the negative reviews here are for ARH2050 which is a large lecture. i'll admit i didn't really care for her when i took ARH2050, but her smaller classes are much better. she gave us plenty of opportunity for extra credit and if you read the book before the test there is no reason not to get an A.
HORRIBLE!! Might as well stare at the wall because she didn't teach anything, I was unsure if she knew anything...Always cancels class for whatever reason without warning, so be prepared for many days of inconvenience from her. I guess she's ok for people who don't care about learning anything.
Great teacher, I had her in a small lecture room with a little over 10 students. She adds a lot of extra info in her lectures which helps me remember the main gist of the period we're studying and definitely helps on the test. Also, if you have trouble, just stop by her office. She's very fun. Just study and you'll do great!
I had Dr. Gonzalez for ARH2050h, and she was tolerable. I love art history, and thus, took ARH2051h. This is the only class I have ever withdrawn from. I am an A student with an art background, and I nearly failed this class. She is unclear, unprofessional, and her grading is highly subjective. Her lectures are poorly organized and horribly boring.
a nightmare. stear ph**king clear. plain and simple.
Nice lady, slightly disorganized, and a little flighty. But she told you exactly what to expect on tests so it was an easy A.
In 4 years, this is the first negative review I've given. Literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She obviously did not care at all about the class or her students. She didn't put any effort or energy into lecture. She turned what could have been an incredible class into a complete waste of time and money. She has no respect for her students.
Late everyday, often unprepared for tests, wastes more than half of classtime with student powerpoint presentations. Overall this class was a joke, it felt a lot like being in high school and was a complete waste of money and time. Don't take it if you're actually wanting to walk away with knowledge; this class is good for an easy A/social time.
