Great Professor she explains things very well i recommend taking any of her classes. She makes her classes fun she hands out candy and lots of extra credit points
GREAT TEACHER! SHE IS VERY NICE AND VERY HELPFUL. IF YOU EVER DON'T UNDERSTAND SHE WILL HELP!! I RECOMMED HER!!
Loved this class, she's so nice and explains everything until you get it. Makes class interesting! Great teacher, wish there was more like her at UCF.
She is one of the best professors at this University. Her classes are awesome, you learn so much from her lectures and i suggest anyone who is just thinking about majoring in Legal Studies to take Law and Legal systems with her, she hands out candy in every class and she's just great to listen too.
I can not say one negative comment about Dr. Koblasz. She has to be one of the BEST ucf professor out there. I actually enjoyed going to her classes, she is EXCELLENT. Only if all of my teachers were like Dr. Koblasz!!!
The BEST BEST Professor at UCF! She is so helpful and wants you to understand what she is teaching! An easy A but you learn a lot and have fun while doing it!
Very nice teacher. The test are online and very fair. Her notes are posted online so you can just listen in class. Take her over the summer because she lets you go only after two hours instead of five. Very knowledable teacher.
Awesome teacher, real down to earth and very thorough...she won't assign something until she knows your ready. Ask questions and ask for help she'll help you the whole way. Definitely would take again.
5 exams, no final, gives extra credit, and 4 case briefs...u learn a lot, and she is a great teacher and grades fair
Great Teacher! learned a lot from her. She gives 5 tests and as long as you take them all she lets you skip out of her final. she is really helpfull and interesting. Class is easy if you go to class. She posts notes on WEB CT. She was a lawer so she knows her stuff funny stories. i highly recommend taking her
I took her for Trial advo and she was biased on her points for the one grade that actually mattered which was our trial cases itself. You have to act out a trial prepare questions, memorize answers depending on which witness you are, and try to win a case, its like a real trial. .If she likes you then you'll get an A if not then good luck.
She is awesome! I am signed up for another one of her classes this semester! Lectures are interesting...tests are online...sign in attendance is taken...no textbook used!
Dr. Koblasz can be tough, but you learn so much. As long as you pay attention and go to class (which she takes attendance), then it can be an easy A
just go 2 class and try your best and you will get an A
I loved this professor, this class is hard but she is always there and willing to help you. She is very funny too. I would recommend her to everyone because she drills stuff into your brain but in a funny way. The final is worth 50% of grade so dont play, and its long but otherwise class is very passable if you apply yourself.
Dr. K is a great professor. I took her for legal reserach and law and the legal and got A's in both classes. It might seem difficult at first (especially legal research)but if you work through it and apply yourself, you should be fine. She gives extra credit and you learn a lot. Highly Recommended...
Dr. K is the best! She is an excellent teacher and keeps your interest in class with her stories and examples. Make sure you go to class and do your work. She doesn't require a textbook either. She's funny and an all-around awesome professor!
Can you say Margarita? Margarita Koblasz is a phenomenal teacher. Best served with a side of cynicism or sarcasm. Her true to life stories make the concepts of basic laws easier to recall and more fun to learn. Bonus: No textbook!
Love Dr. K. I have taken her for numerous class and she is great for all of them. Very highly recommended professor. Doesn't use a textbook, and is very helpful with everything.
this class isnt't the easiest, but i wouldn't want to take it with anyone else...you learn a lot in this class...if you work hard you will do good
Dr. K is awesome! She's very likeable, funny, and relates well to students. Tests are online. Do the case briefs, the observation paper, and go to class because attendance is mandatory. She also gives extra credit. Do your part and you will make an A!
She is a great professor. This was my favorite class by far. The work isn't easy...you'll spend countless hours in the library, but it can be done. This is not a class for slackers
Her tests (and notes) were online, so they were easy, and her lectures were very interesting and funny. The only thing she really stinks at is getting papers back to students, and I can't stand that. If you're taking PLA 3013, take her for an easy, laid back A.
You will only get a good grade if you kiss her a$$. Also beware of her annoying voice and laugh. Take her for research, but not writing.
my first law class and it has been interesting & fun. This class is easy, all of her notes are posted, no textbook, use the buddy system to study. I have no complaints. Come to class and you'll learn alot and hear some funnny crazy stories
Great teacher. Easy class with her. She grades hard on the citations but lets you correct them and get half credit. Gives you plenty of time for the final. I've taken her twice and I love her. Take her if you can!
This professor is very helpful and straight forward. Tests are online, mostly come straight from the notes. No textbook for this class, but you have to buy a clicker and register it online. Gives a lot of examples for all the terms, almost impossible not to understand. Take her for an easy law class!
took online...great class!!!! just study the modules for the tests and do some case briefs and it's a breeze!!!!
Class is super easy!! no textbook!! Attendance is not mandatory, but she gives crazy bonus points if you show up to class! If you take notes and pay attention..easy A!
I took this class over the summer online. Overall, the class is straight forward and there are no tricks. No book neeeded, just read her notes. Various quizzes, tests, a film, and a courtroom observation. Def. take Prof. Koblasz for any class possible. Great teacher. Easy class!
This is my first class with Dr. K, and I'm about 3/4 through it. I thought this class was going to be impossible during the first 2 weeks of class. It keeps getting easier though! She has the best stories... this class is NEVER boring. No book. She hands extra credit out like crazy! I recommend this class!
Very fun class. Just attend class, make some friends, and study together. You'll make an A, it's pretty easy! Dr.K is my role model!
I took this class online, and it was extremely frustrating! Our tests were graded wrong all the time, we rarely ever heard back from our "teacher" when we had questions about our grades/assignments. We had to rely on eachother for help. I'll never take her online again!
Dr. K is an upfront teacher, that lets you know what to expect from class. Her class was extremely easy, and almost impossible not to get an A in. The only problem is the class is so easy, people tend to skip alot which will hurt you in the end. Just show up to class, and don't be a idiot, and you will get an A.
She's pretty tough, but gives fair warning and enough time for assignments. You will be working with others for the assignments!!!
just take the class you'll enjoy it
Wow. What a great professor. Definitely take her for any law class available. You will learn a lot with her, but be prepared to actually do work. My favorite PLA teacher.
BEST teacher at UCF! Very funny! assignments are easy and the tests you can do at home! Easy A.
Pay attention and take notes and it will all be clear. She is a very common sense style teacher. Nothing is overcomplicated or hard to grasp. She keeps you interested with her energitic and NO BS personality.
As a law student looking at this class retrospectively, it was very helpful. She is brash and takes no prisoners (like most of my law professors). While the IRAC format is not how you legal writing in the real world it is key to exams. Work hard in the class and you will do well. Also, Dr.K is a great person with advice but doesnt sugar-coat anythi
She is amazing! I am taking legal research and law and the legal system with her now. Legal research will kick your butt plan on living in the library but you will learn so much. law isnt bad at home online tests and case briefs pretty simple! wish i could take more of her classes
She's tough, and that could be taken as an understatement. But she knows her stuff, exceedingly well. Accept the fact you have to be in the library alot to work, or else you won't do well whatsoever.Good class if you have an interest in learning every which way to do research
She's the best trial advocacy professor ever! She brings real experience into the class and makes it interesting. Very little out of class work, mostly just exercises and lectures. Only exam is your own trial, which ends up being a lot of fun!
Took this class online. Had a hard time getting grades back. Very easy class. 3 movie reviews along with quizzes and exams. Case briefs every week, but they start out multiple choice and you only really do 2-3 on your own. Just wish grades would have been consistent and released on time. Emails were also hard to get responses to.
She is easy for the most part and gives tons of extra credit. She has plenty of experience too. However, she plays favorites with her trial team kids! Don't even bother trying to get her to help you outside of class if you're not in this "club".
Great class, had a lot of fun actually. Case brief assignments start multiple choice then progress to entirely on your own. The text was not boring and was easy to read, tests based on text were a breeze. Professor is sweet, but seems a little scattered and disorganized. I wouldn't consider that too big of a deal though, easily an A.
Great Professor! Make sure you do all of the extra credit and you will easily get an A. However, you must stay on top of things because she might say something once and then hold you accountable for it.
Take her! She makes class interesting. She's understanding and generally nice about things. Plus, no book!
A good professor but very demanding. You will work loads to get an A, and not very helpful. Most answer e-mails are one liners and leave you where you started. All in all I would recommend her if you enjoy challenges and a risk to your GPA.
this woman should be ashamed of herself. she grades based on favorites...anyone heard of candor? this woman has not and she grades based on her favorites. This is not high school, these are people's lives.I compared my grades to that of one of her "favs". he got 100 and i got a C. we did the assignment together...it was the same.
She is a bright woman, her method of teaching is very learn on your own as you go I felt. Classes are short and often cancelled. She is good abt answering questions when you ask, but If you like hands on teaching she might not be for you. When taking this class I advise you to not have a full load, lots of research and long papers in your future!
Dr K is without a doubt the hardest teacher ever that said I took her for research writing and trial ad She lets you do work and offers extra credit frequently DO IT it will save you her classes are learn as you go but nothing will prepare you for law school like her finish you work early and show her she will offer corrections to you make them GL
Dr. K is a GREAT professor! This was my favorite class this semester. She really knows her stuff when it comes to law and provides a ton of examples. The case briefs are easy once you get the hang of them. I reviewed the powerpoints beforehand and got A's on the tests which are online. TAKE HER if you can!
this teacher grades very slowly. we have the option of taking the final depending on our grade at the time, however she waits until the lat minute to give us all of our grades back.
Taken multiple classes with Dr. K. She's great. Very available in her office on M, W and very willing to listen to any student complaints or concerns. Easy As if you bother to see her a few times. She'll proof-read whatever you need her to before you turn it in. Note: *drawback- does not communicate well through email
I will never be taking another class with Dr. K. She does NOT reply to emails, doesn't assign a text (makes it extremely difficult if you do not attend EVERY class and take detailed notes), grade system based on minus, but not plus scale, and leaves you on your own to figure out case briefs. Do the extra credit assignments! You will need them.
Dr. K is one of the most helpful teachers I've ever had. Her classes are easy if you show up, listen and do exactly what she says. She always has the time to help out studens if they stop by her office. I HIGHLY recommend taking her for whatever you can!
She always cancels class, but then schedules test, which are all online. It wasn't a hard class, but it was all over the place with no expectations and guidelines. All the test were easy and then the final was completely different full of hypotheticals and figuring it out on your own. Many mistakes on the final, that she claimed she wrote herself.
Not going to lie, this class will kill you if you procrastinate. She is very hard. This is the hardest class I have ever taken. Go to her office before every assignment. She is extremely helpful, but her advice is vague. Once you hear "good" you should be okay. Don't be afraid of her, well do be, but she will help you if you show a genuine interest
she kinda had a lot on her plate this sems., so class wasnt totally focused, but besides that she was a great teacher the assignments were online very easy to understand test were based on the powerpoints, class wasnt mandatory but she had participation grades her stories were always interesting, she may be a little intimidating but she was cool
What a nice teacher. Summer was a little hectic but do able. Would rec her but alot of work. Not the easiest class also. If you work hard and are smart,go ahead, if not,i would stay away
This class is not for people looking to slack off. However, if you are serious about law school I would recommend taking her. Very demanding course. Go to her office hours. Ask her questions. Don't be scared of her. If you show you want to learn, she will not turn you away.
If you're looking for a teacher to make you feel dumb by all means this is the one to pick! I don't recommend ANYONE to take her. She will give you writing assignment after writing assignment expecting you to write perfectly as an attorney would. FOR MOST OF US, THIS IS OUR FIRST LEGAL WRITING COURSE. She's lucky I'm out of space to write.
Have taken Dr. K for three classes now including writing. Fabulous professor, very demanding courses but you will absolutely come away learning something. Anyone interested in genuinely learning should take her. Very helpful if you ask questions or need help. Not at all an easy professor, especially for writing. Not for slackers, consider carefully
Attendance is mandatory because there are iClicker questions. No textbook is required. She takes forever to grade assignments. She had a lot going on this semester and class was not that important to her (her exact words). She does have very interesting stories. Recommend if you work hard!
Go to class, she explains everything so well and has really interesting stories. Absolutely loved her. Work hard and she will reward you for it. Takes forever to grade though and you will not learn your grade until the last day of class.
Dr. K is the best! I really enjoyed her teaching style. I recommend her for everyone! JUST DO THE WORK and you'll be fine! no textbook. she's funny. VERY HELPFUL!
GREAT professor! She was NOT an easy A, but if you work your hardest and ALWAYS take advantage of her office hours, you'll do fine! Attendance is part of your grade, and believe me, You'll need to be there. She's a very picky grader, but you walk away learning a lot.
Her tests are online and you can re-take the test, keeping your higher grade. I was able to skip the final, there was plenty of extra credit available. Her lectures are interesting and she's very funny. I learned a lot in the class and I would gladly take her again.
Had knowledge that students have done poorly (60 average on a paper worth 25% of overall grade) and has not changed how she structures lectures in relation to this success rate. Got assignments reviewed by very experienced attorneys that challenged her examples and understanding proper pleadings before a court.
Worst professor I've taken at UCF thus far. Took this class because I heard from others that it was tough but you learn a tremendous amount. She is an absent teacher, rushes through the powerpoints, takes a month to grade your papers. The class average was below a 60% on the biggest assignment. She gives tons of extra credit though.
Dr. Koblasz was probably the best professor I have taken at the University of Central Florida. You must understand the content of the class, but if you do it should be an easy A. If you have difficulty with public speaking be warned of the one major assignment in the class. It is an actual mock-trial, and be careful who you pick as your partner.
Dr. Koblasz is the best professor I have had at UCF so far. Her lectures are interesting and she makes the class interesting with her humor and telling about her experiences. If you do the work and pay attention, you will pass with a good grade! There are chances to retake the tests and she gives extra credit as well. She is the bomb.
Amazing teacher! She is funny, knows what she talks about, and is there to make sure you learn, however, she will not force you to, and if you don't put in the effort, your grade will reflect as such.
Her lectures are interesting and engaging, I definitely learned tons about the Law. Her tests are all online and the final is optional. Overall, a lot more relaxed than you'd expect from a legal class. Still, show up to class though; if this is your first exposure to legal language and whatnot, you WILL be confused if you don't go to class.
WORST PROFESSOR AT UCF! SHE IS HORRIBLE, DO NOT TAKE HER. SHE IS A NON ACTIVE LAWYER. SHE DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING. SHE IS SUCH AN UNHAPPY PERSON.
Before starting the class she warns you its tough, however she gives you all the opportunities you need to succeed, you just have to make the effort. She's real and doesn't sugar coat things. I'm taking every class she has to offer because you actually learn things from her.
She's a tough professor. She doesn't sugar coat things, she's straight forward, and doesn't care if your feelings are hurt. She's very picky with her grading and there are so many papers to write, all within 2 weeks of each other. There is a lot of extra credit offered, SO DO ALL OF THEM, trust me. It's what saved my grade.
I took her for Legal Writing and was one of the few in our class to get an A because you had to work for it. Dr. K is great. She's engaging in class, and she teaches the material. She will sit with you and review your paper down to grammatical errors. She treats you like a law student, and I respect that. You will pass if you put in the effort.
I took this for law and the legal system thinking I would go into this field but was left with the same answer unsure since we only had class 3 times. Not a hard class but not one where you learn or the teacher is very clear. If you find a better professor go for the other one!
If you want a class where you teach yourself all of the material, this is it. Class was held only 3 times over the course of this semester while she was vacationing in Europe. Not a single thing was graded until the very last week of class. On top of that, poor instructions were given and assignments were VERY unclear. Bad intro class to take.
I took three classes with her in 2015 she is excellent.
I took Professor Koblasz for three classes in 2016 and she was one of the most memorable professors at UCF. She is passionate, caring, and provided me with a quality education. Her energy and lecturing style was fun, engaging, and effective. I would take her again!
Grading and assignments were often confusing, but I think it was mainly because the course was online; would have been better to hear her lecture than just reading the textbook
Probably the worst professor I have ever had. Seems like she wants you to fail. Extremely difficult and confusing assignments. Quizzes extremely difficult. was not clear on her grading at ALL. Extra credit assignment posted all semester and took away the majority of its' worth the week before finals. Would not recommend.
I took her class in person. She does not grade any assignments until the last week of class; leaving you with ZERO time to fix your mistakes and improve your grades. Very poor instructions are given and assignments were VERY unclear; you are pretty much teaching yourself. I will never take another class with her!!!!!!
I would not recommend taking her for Law and Legal System at all! I regret not dropping her class when I had the chance because I am stressing everyday trying to study and complete all of her assignments on time. She uses Proctor Hub for her tests, so be aware of that if you are a cheater! I am basically paying the class to teach myself everyday.
worst class I have ever taken
This class is really specific and she grades assignments very harshly so you really have to pay attention to what you are turning in. Her quizzes are also hard & there are only 3 of them. Do the extra credit, it helps your grade a lot. She also does +-. Her lectures are interesting but you mainly learn on your own. Good luck
Compared to other professors for this course, there's A LOT of work. She gave good feedback on assignments so you knew what to fix on the next assignment, but she's a pretty tough grader. If you like a challenge, take her - but if not, it's not worth the stress
All of these bad reviews must not have been doing their work. If you show up and pay attention and do what is expected of you, you'll be fine. She genuinely wants you to succeed and is not someone whose out to get you. She makes it interesting and interactive. If you do nothing and don't participate, you won't pass and you shouldn't. Work for it.
TERRIBLE Professor!!! Worst experience with a class in Legal Studies! Ive been through 3 semesters at UCF already and have never encountered such a terrible Professor. You never hear from her, expect grades 3-4 weeks after the assignment is submitted. She grades EXTREMELY late and hard. No one gets a 100 on any assignment and modules are useless.
Inconsistent!!! The professor was very fair and communicated well throughout the semester, until the final assignment. She suddenly graded very inconsistently with the rubric and to her posted final module. Students should be able to rely on a professor's previous grading strategies and comments to shape what they hand in for future assignments.
