she was a great teacher & really helped me learn a lot. you can tell she is well educated and really passionate about political science!

She is amazing. She is so helpful in helping to understand the material. If you visit her during her office hours she will definitely help you out. She is easy to understand, likes participation, the best Government type class ever. You can't go wrong with this one. Go everyday and stay focused you'll pass with flying colors!

bowlby's class is easy and interesting. as long as you take notes and pay attention you'll do well. i didnt open the book once and have an A. she is obviously very knowledgeable and delivers the material unbiased which is rare.

I am so bad with government and was surprised when I got a high B in the class. Bowlby is so nice, she really is eager to help you out and get you the best grade possible. Didn't open my book once the whole semester! The tests are pretty easy too. The only thing that required some deep thought was the paper. I recommend her.

Take her. She'll wake you up with interesting facts about the government. Easy class. Easy tests. Just do really well on the research paper and you'll be fine. She is also very athletic looking.

This class is a must take for any young adult wanting to learn about citizenship and their rights. Her tests are not hard, she preps you for every one, you have one big paper to write but she diagrams the whole thing for you. She is available after class to talk with and she knows the subject really well. You can get the grade you want.

She is a must take for any political science major or those just interested in the subject. She commands the topic like no other teacher at GWC and her clases are rich with knowledge. I would recomend her to anyone and everyone!

Very nice and easy class. You have 3 exams and only 1 paper. Make sure you do not miss the review the calss before the exam the enitre review is what is on the test. If you can, record that lecture. She wants you to to well and learn. Don't waste too much time reading the text.

nice teacher...3exams, 1 debate paper which is about 3 to 4 pages long...Some questions are like high school stuffs...easy and straight forward... go to study section also. that will help you do better in class

Holy cow this class is boring! In fact the the whole topic is boring to me! Anyhow the class is somewhat easy if you study and so to the tutor sessions. The mandatory paper is a pain, because the topics that she gives you is so dry. Its hard to get motivated to write the paper. The class isn't too hard.

Maybe I just like poli sci 'cause I find her lectures to be very interesting. Don't bother reading the book; just listen and take notes during lectures. Lectures were detailed and easy to study from. She uses power point for her lectures and posts them online too. Tests are right from your notes. 3 tests and 1 essay. Shes a cool teacher and really nice!

I took this online class in the Winter Intersession and enjoyed the class. She requires writing in the discussioin board for six chapters and interaction with other students and will give you full credit. Her powerpoints are extremely helpful.Midterm and final all answers are in your notes. She also gives a very imformative study guide for final.

Great teacher. Got a B. Class was easy. My text book is still in its wrapping. (2 books - not 100% necessary) Requires some studying but not that much. A couple of tests and an essay which she outlines nicely for you and that's it. Forum class is full first few days but less than half stick it out. Easy B/C, though an A is very possible.

i loved this teacher. she puts the notes online, so you can print them out before class and then add to them while you're in class. i never bought the book and got an A. she had review sessions before the tests that were REALLY helpful. she made the class interesting as well. there is one term paper that is really not that difficult.

The lectures are on video and you dont really need to buy the video transcripts (book), they are available online. The video lectures made Politics interesting. She is a great professor. I got an A easily in her class. You have 14 weekly 800 word assignments. If you answer her questions you can get the 50 out of 50 on each question. I got 690 out of 700 on these 14 assignments. She grades on a 1000 point scale with no curve but you really do not need a curve unless you choose not to turn in assignments on

Online class. You read the ENTIRE book plus other things online. No tests, just respond to one question a week based on what you read & one 4-6 page paper (not hard). Lots and lots of work but definitely worth it. If you're looking for an easy class, this isn't the one for you. It's not hard to get an A; you just have to try. I'm glad I took it.

Very intelligent lady and really got my mental gears cranking. She is nice and helpful and talkative. It was a lecture hall so it was inevitably more boring than in a small classroom but she is very interesting and taught me a lot. 3 250 point tests and 1 250 point essay. never study and waited till the last day to write paper. got a B

this class had a lot of material, however it was really fun to learn. i looked forward to going to class and i learned a lot. the information was worded in such a manner that it stuck with me and was never difficult to study. great class, but take it only if you are competent and paying attention.

She is an excellent professor; very clear during her lectures and tells you what you need to know. There is one essay assignment in her class but she is lenient in grading it. Tests are easy and study her powerpoint notes; book is not required in this class. She is one of my favorite instructors.

She's a fabulous teacher, one of the best. If you must take Political Science take her; she defiantly knows her stuff; lectures are truly easy to understand. She preps you before tests and an optional study sesson. There's only 3 test and 1 paper in her class, no homework, no reading. No trick questions on her tests very straight forward.

Took online 8-week class. Had to write 6 short essays (plus one for extra credit, if you need it) and 2 tests pretty much straight off of lecture notes. Online text is crucial - I printed off all the notes for reference and will be able to use them long after this class. IMO, this class is much easier (and less boring) online.

Her class is so chill.You don't have to come to class because she does not take attendance.You don't need the book because all notes are on Blackboard. She gives out extra credit.She only has 2 tests(1 midterm, 1 final)and 1 term paper which are extremely easy.The final is NOT comprehensive was SO easy.

Do bad on one and yah you are kind of screwed but everything is off the lecture notes (don't need the book) and she gives direct links for the paper. Take her for poly sci. Class was very easy A. Each week you read a little bit in the book or an online article and make a post on the website. There is one 4 page paper to write at the end of class, but it's not big deal because she is an easy grader. Definitely recommend this class.

GO TO STUDY REVIEWS--- she offers them before the midterm and final and you'll do well. The class consists of a debate paper(300 pts) midterm(350pts) and final (350pts) you need 900 to get an A. Also... check your blackboard everyday for extra credit... I missed an extra credit that could have gotten me an A. Good luck!

I was able to take Ms. Bowlby, for Pol Sci 180,185,150., and she is an excellent Professor. She makes the classes interesting and I'm just so grateful that I was able to have her as my instructor their at GWC. Thank You, Take her classes, you will not regret it !!!

I took this class online over the summer. What is expected is very clear. You are required to buy and pricey online textbook, but I found it pretty useless since I have a good understanding of our political system. There are 6 discussions that you have to participate in. There is also a midterm and a final (both which you can use all notes)

I took it online. I didn't have to purchase a textbook because the lecture material is online. You watch video lectures and read chapter notes. There were 6, 250 word min. discussions to write, replies, a midterm and a final. I'd recommend watching the videos at the least and you should pass with a B no problem.

She's great! She is an easy grader and gives very interesting discussion topics. Is very knowledgeable about the topic and never takes sides. Highly recommend! Take online course! Easy A but you learn a lot as well!

PoliSci180-teacher was ok. she didnt care if you showed up to class.book not required.she gives 3 hard exams which make most of your grade.has a 100 point budget paper along with discussions online with other students. this is a class that you have to take to transfer so you may have to suck it up and finish the class.has review sessions which help

She's a very nice professor. I never showed up to lectures. Just showed up to one study session. And did all studying one day prior to the midterms. I suggest you guys go to study sessions. Maybe because I had a good H.S. Government teacher, but I ended up with a B+ could've had an A but didn't do some extra credit!

Prof. Bowlby is hands down one of the very best teachers Golden West has to offer. For political philosophy, the material would be much much murkier if taught by other professors, but thanks to her brilliant analysis one is able to grasp the concepts with great success. Attendance is mandatory as there are discussions worth points. Great!

This class was extremely easy. She offers extra credit (45 points worth, so it would be in your best interest to do it. Class is out of 1000 points. I went to class 1/4 of the time and still aced the class. Her powerpoints are online so you can basically study off of that and you should be fine. Don't buy the book, it isn't needed. I never used it.

She gives extra credit for attendance. Print out online lecture notes. Take notes and pay attention. Speak up (give input, ask questions, etc.) because if you do, she'll recognize you. Do well on the writing assignments. Your final exam will be entirely on lectures. The textbook? We never used it, I didn't read a page of it.

She posts the lectures online, the book is not required, attendance is encouraged but not mandatory, and she has extra credit so all in all it was an easy class... aced it without the extra credit and I printed probably less than half of the ppts. That being said, I never missed a class. Don't buy the book you won't need it.

Bowlby is a pretty good teacher. The class was pretty boring, but it was not her fault since I really had minimal interest in the class. Makes the material understandable and is approachable and friendly. Attendance is worth 40% of the grade so if you show up and get 50 on the final and midterm you pass.

I took her PSCI 185 online class during spring 11. Book is expensive and absolutely needed for this course. There was a lot of reading involved. 6 written assignments, discussion responses and a final paper. This class was time intense but I learned a lot. However, this is not an easy class, at least not as an online class.

Excellent Professor. Tells you exactly what she expects of you from the start. Actually cares that you learn the material. Take her 8-week online class, it's a reasonable amount of work each week, only 3 Discussions (but don't leave them to the last minute, they're quite long!) and a midterm and final. Even easier if you took Gov in HS!

One of the best professor's I've had since beginning college. She is crystal clear, helpful, perfect speaker, and extremely knowledgeable within the subject. Don't buy the book (it's only a "reference"), all exam questions come from lectures & powerpoints-record lectures w/ a voice recorder and study it w/ PPts after class. EASY A!

Pretty easy class. Just show up and take good notes and attend the study sessions ( very helpful). Only 2 tests and one assignment not too bad so you have to do well on your tests. I have taken many of her online classes and passed easily. She is very clear on what is due and a wonderful prof.

Token her class online it was really easy, with only 6 discussion, one written formal essay, and two exams. you absolutely need the book in order to pass the class, but the book is expensive so find a trustful classmate to split the cost of it.

Took the 8 weeks course and this professor is really easy. I literally did not use/buy the book at all and passed with a B. Discussions are mainly opinion based and the writing assignment is straightforward. She asked to use the book for examples, but you can get most of the information from the website she provides. Take this class and be glad!

She is "the bomb"...very interactive with her students! There's just too much words for me to describe how amazing Professor Bowlby is! I hope she can teach more "in-class" courses of the Political Science area at Golden West! Take her, you won't regret it!

Took the online 16wk class. You don't have to buy the book, just rely on the Internet. Weekly discussions, very easy. There is one assignment which is like a 3-4pg report, answer the questions with details. Midterm and final, not cumulative, doable w/o the readings. Some ec offered. I got an A in the class with extremely low effort. TAKE HER!

BEST TEACHER EVER! I took her online class, and we had a discussion each week. She's very open-minded and very helpful. There are 12 discussions over all and one final paper. It's a decent amount of work each week. I wasn't a very big fan of Political Science until I took this class. She is seriously AMAZING! I ended up with a high A in her class.

Professor Bowlby is very nice and so helpful. She will reply to your emails as quickly as possible and explain things thoroughly. Her class on campus is a lot of information to understand and memorize for the exams. Two exams and one budget assignment/essay. You can only do one and only one extra credit. This was an online class. Straight forward discussions. Ton of material to review for mid term and final. One essay on your choice of 3 topics. Very vague instructions so read carefully. I got an A, as long as you know how to write well you should be fine.

She is a great teacher. She hardly ever missed any class. Her lectures are all well prepared, coherent, although not always easy to follow because she put in a lot of extra information. But there is nothing bad about that since she wants you to be well informed about politics. Besides, she is beautiful and looks just like Karen of the Carpenters.:)

Very clear and informative. 2 Exams, both easy if you do her study guides. MUST print out powerpts (4 slides each pg) as there's a LOT to write down. Ask her to slow down a bit. Dont need to know dates, just understand the concepts and definitions. Responds to emails fast, always posts clear updates on blackboard. Be specific on your budget paper!!

Took this class during the 3 week winter break class so it went by really fast. There is a ton of reading but the tests are pretty easy and the essay itself wasn't too bad. tbh, I didn't even study for the final and used google and got an A. Wouldn't recommend doing that but it worked out for me and. Take her for a pretty easy A.

I took the Winter Intersession class. 6 quizzes, 1 Final, 1 Writing assignment. There is alot of reading because its a 4 week class but the test is based on general knowledge. Its super easy. Yes, you can google but you still have to have some background knowledge. Easy class. She is very informative though.

Took this over the 4 week intersession so there was a TON of reading. But if you read the assignments, and study a bit before the quiz, it's an easy A. The one essay is easy as well. If you follow her directions, its easy. A lot of my classmates didn't follow directions for the paper. So read thoroughly!

As far as clarity, she's not 100% clear on her big written assignment & responses-- and the TA didn't even respond to my question until after the due date. It can be a lot of reading (or watching the lectures online), but it is feasible. Oh, her tests are ONLY SUNDAYS. I wish I had known this before signing up (I work weekends). Straightforward.

This online class is an easy B, but getting an A can be difficult due to the trick/vague questions on the quizzes. Overall, this class is manageable and the teacher is quick to respond.

She was a teacher that actually wanted you to get it. She is super nice and is willing to go the extra mile to help you out. It's a lot of work but you actually understand the government system afterwards.

I took this class online during summer. You must read the assignments in order to pass this class. But once you study consistently, you will pass all quizzes easily. There was a paper assigned during the course, just follow the instructions to get an A.

One of the best professor at GWC. Her lectures are not mandatory due to study guide. Her lectures go in more depth than what is actually on the test bc test are high school level test. The one paper is super easy. Cant complain about a teacher teaching at college level but give test at high school level. If you want an easy A take this professor.

I am enrolled in her online class but planning to drop. There are six online tests and a final. You ONLY have 24 hours to complete each test and each test is every Sunday. You must be available every Sunday in order to take her test. Strict about internet connection, lose connection no credit for you. Final online exam is proctored!

I took a 4-week winter intersession online, and the entire grade consisted of 6 quizzes, 1 final exam, and 1 (easy) essay assignment. More than discussions and responses, this online class was about watching videos and reading notes. No textbook needed, just an access to a website for about $100. I still learned a lot due to the organized lectures.

I took her 8 week online class last semester and it went by like a breeze! I was scared at first but as long as you keep up with the reading (or watch the videos) youll be fine. I personally preferred the videos, they really helped me better memorize the material. Shes a great teacher and replies to messages quickly if you have any questions!!

I took her 8 week online class and it was VERY easy for an 8 week online class. All of the reading is on a third party website you have to pay for, and you take the quizzes on blackboard. 6 quizzes, 1 easy midterm paper, and a 50 question final. I honestly barely even tried and got a B, if you put in effort you should have no problem getting an A!

Took the online polysci class over summer. lots of info in 8 weeks. one 3+ page MLA paper in the middle. two quizzes a week. all the notes are done for you.. do the practice exercises and read the notes. print the quizzes. pretty easy A if you put in the effort

I enjoyed her class. She is fair, and will help if you ask(via email or in class) , her quizzes are worth a a good amount cumulatively,so if you review before your quiz days you'll be fine. She's a bit left of center, but thats the norm, still invites open discussion, which is rare. Overalll a good experience & i would recommend it to you.

I took this online class over winter intersession. If you read the online notes, then you'll do good on the quizzes/exams. She assigns two essays: midterm & final. There are a total of six quizzes and two exams. SHE DOESN'T OFFER EXTRA CREDIT.

I took an online winter intersession for this class. It is consisted of 2 essays (2-3pages), 2 exams (proctored), and 6 quizzes (2 per week). The quizzes are open-book, but I recommend that you should at least skim through the notes imo. Thinkwell is REQUIRED. As long as you get work done, you'll do fine!! It's not as bad as it seems.

Took American government over the summer. I enjoyed the way it was structured. You are provided the materials and instruction but it is on you to keep up and follow directions. Easy to get a good grade if you can manage your time and put in the work. Good for self motivators.

Every 2 weeks you have new notes to read (they're incredibly long) from an online site. You must purchase the code to access those notes because no legitimate textbook is used. Each new set of notes has an open-notes quiz to take. No discussion posts, no hw -- two simple essays due during midterm and final week. MIDTERM AND FINAL ARE PROCTORED!

Attend class for in-class discussions. Tests are not that difficult if you do the study guides. Follow the directions for the written assignment.

She's easily the most relatable professor I've had. Her tests are based on her lecture notes which are available online. But the notes are full in the blank so you have to go to class to fill in exactly what she will be putting on the exams. Grade consists of midterm, final, paper and class discussions. Took the hybrid course, which was a 3hr. lecture every Friday morning. For 3 hrs, her lectures were looong! but she's really passionate in this class. Each lecture you attended & participated in, you got points towards your grade. One big research paper, & exams are based off lectures. Take advantage of the SIA during exams! It's such a big help!

Watch videos and then answer questions weekly. 6 quizzes, a mid-term and final. One paper and two extra credit opportunities. Kind and considerate.

this was a global issues class. we learned alot of important things and we discussed them with students and with prof. great class if you care about our future.

There's A LOT of reading for her 8-wk online class. I'm reading 3-4 chapters a week which is about 80-100 pages. I love that the quizzes are easy and that's the only weekly hw. The midterm and exam are proctored. She uses a free online textbook if you wanna save $$. Overall she's a pretty easy teacher if you don't mind reading a lot.

Her tests are based on her lecture notes which are available online. If you study, you will get an easy A on the midterm and final exam. You need to show up in class because she gives in class discussion- the easiest points I have ever have. You just show up, discuss with the friends around you and sign attendance sheet. Then you get 20pts.

Took this class with a lot of other students in a large classroom. I didn't want to but had to. She was really good. She wanted to make everyone feel like a part of class and learn. Lectures are online but come to class and fill them in. We discussed news events almost every week in class with other students and she join the groups. Free book!

Took her online class this summer. There was a lot of reading but hey it's a short summer class. I used the open book quizzes that came out of the review sections in the readings to study for the exams and did well. There's a couple of good written assignments and she gave extra credit. You can get an A if you read and do the work.

You have to go to class to get random extra credits and class discussions. Very easy A if you do good on the first paper. Class discussions every week ( go to class guys, she is very funny). Her lectures will help with the study guides. Only 2 tests. Midterm paper( medium-rare hard), budget paper(not hard, fun to do), final paper( not hard).

I am Conservative and was nervous about taking this class but Professor Bowlby was completely fair. We have different political views but she didnt let that affect her grading or her being respectful of my views. She is an excellent teacher!

This class is overall pretty easy. There is a lot reading involved since she doesn't provide you with her notes or presentation slides. Discussion boards, quizzes, and exams are fairly easy and doable! Keep up with your assignments and you'll do great.

My review may be a bit different because I took Professor Bowlby's online class (COVID-19 pandemic) but regardless I firmly believe that she would have been a great instructor in person as well. Professor Bowlby's class mainly consisted of in-depth lectures and (free) textbook reading. Highly recommend her class, easy A+ if you do the reading.

If you need to take PSCI 180, take it with Margot Bowlby! Strictly online, no meet times. Just prerecorded lectures that are posted on Canvas. Course is 8 weeks long which may seem fast paced, but just do the work you'll be fine. As long as you do the quizzes and discussions, you shouldn't have a problem getting an A. Final was quick and easy.

This class was easy, prerecorded lecture but there are quizlets online, a discussion and quiz due at the end of the week. The discussions take some time because she requires you to write at least four sentences on your peers including your paragraph you wrote base on the articles you read. She was very excited about her class and left good notes.

Highly recommend, class was very easy! She has prerecorded lectures, with very detailed notes. Quizzes were very easy. 1 or 2 papers, she was a forgiving grader.

Prof Bowlby is a good professor. Took her 4-week class so it was a bit much but manageable. There is a ton of reading, but the subject matter is very interesting. The quizzes are incredibly easy. She grades the discussion posts pretty easily. The final exam is proctored. Overall, she was a great prof and I hope to take another class with her.

She is a good teacher, and the class was pretty straightforward. It consisted of a weekly discussion post & quiz. As long as you are participating & submit your work you will get full points and an A. She drops the two lowest scores on the discussion and quiz which is really helpful. Overall, I would recommend the class.

Prof Bowlby was definitely one of my favorites! For an online class, the work load was pretty light. The 6 week summer course consisted of weekly quizzes and discussion boards as well as a final exam. The info was not too difficult to remember and feedback was always timely. Prof Bowlby has a clear love for political science and was great overall!!

Her online class is organized well. If you keep up on the reading, of which there is a lot, the discussions and quizzes you will learn and get an A. Lecture videos are a bit dry but helpful and manageable length. Discussion questions can be a bit long.

I took PSCI 100 and PSCI 180 with her. She is a good professor and the assignments are quite simple. The quizzes are directly from the reading. The only thing to really look out for is late penalities. The late penalities are heavy, so just make sure you get everything submitted on time. Also, really try on the discussion boards.

I don't know why students are complaining. The quizzes are open book, the discussions are cool and the final isn't that hard. She warns us about cheating on the final and tells us what to do/not to do. I had no problems and enjoyed her class, alot. She was a fair grader and wasn't one-sided.

Easy A, just don't cheat on the final exam.

It's easy to get good grades going into the final exam. You have to study for the final. She gives help on how and what to study. She is strict about cheating but I'm fine with that. I got a B on the final but still got an A in the class.

I had an emergency and she was very kind and caring. She meet me on Zoom and we worked out a plan so I could complete her class.

The final is literally just compiled of the quizzes and the answers are available after quiz submission for a great final study guide. I definitely recommend.

Professor Bowlby is an amazing professor! She gives clear and concise feedback on discussions. Quizzes are open book. The readings are from her personal book, and she gives each chapter out for free that goes along with the current module. She is strict on plagiarism however, so make sure you properly cite your sources for discussions.

Very easy class! 16 week class consisted of 5 modules with one discussion and quiz due every other week. She allows searching up answers on quizzes and they are really easy as well. Didn't read the textbook at all but ended with over a 100. Final is mainly based off quizzes so study them and she allows a cheat sheet. Would love to take again!

I took it by myself during the winter. There are 5 discussions and each is worth 50 points. The lowest one will get dropped. The same thing to the quizzes, 5 of them but dropped the lowest one. The discussions were kinda hard for me. The quizzes are open-book and have no time limits. The final is not too hard and it is based on the quizzes a lot.

The final exam is cumulative and proctored, and you're allowed to make a one-page cheat sheet. Watch her lecture videos, they're really helpful!

Very easy online class. No papers. Reading is optional, it helps but I did not need to read. There is a lot of required reading material. 5 open book quizzes and 1 final with webcam. Very easy because she gives cheat sheet and all the questions are from the quizzes which have 1 retake. Very nice professor with good feedback. 5 manageable discussion

There is 5 open module quizzes and 5 discussion boards with one final. Final is best on the quizzes so review the quizzes plz. Reading is optional but I did not read at all. I just watched her lectures and went through keywords of each module reading. Do not cheat, reviw th quizzes and key words for your final. Easy A.

You will be fine and Final is so easy just do not cheat. 5 open quizzez which you can review after submission to create cheat shet for your final. Do not read the entire book, just reviw and go through the lectures with the keywords.

Okay class, with some effort it's a decent online option. The quizzes are open-book and the discussions aren't too bad. Just be careful on the final - the professor takes cheating very seriously. For extra prep, give Unstuckstudy a try alongside your textbook.

The online class is very simple. She grades very fairly and gives good feedback. The lowest quiz and discussion scores are dropped at the end of the class. There are extra credit opportunities at the beginning and end of the class, as well as on every discussion.

Take her class. You get two weeks for each module, which is a lot of time to complete your readings, watch her lectures, and write your discussion post. What you need to do is clear so if you fall behind, that's pretty much on your side. She is not a difficult grader, just don't plagiarize and pay attention.

i didn't read the textbook and got an A; just as long as you watch/skim the lectures, and participate in the discussions. 5 open-note quizzes, 1 final exam (LockDown Browser), 2 discussions, and 1 EC discussion. the final exam pulls questions from the quizzes, so memorize/write those down. easy class, no hw, just lectures/reading

The only homework you have is 5 non proctored quizzes and 2 discussions the whole semester. Very easy class but there is a final at the end that is proctored!! Also she rounded my grade up a to an A after the final!!

Great class! She is very kind and patient. The only difficult thing is the proctored final but she allows a double sided full page cheat sheet. If you just study or write down the questions from the quizzes, it should be pretty easy. Take her!
