Awful class, unorganized, inappropriate, negative, a bully. Save yourself the agrivation

Capone is an experimental psychologist. Truly a smart woman, passionate, interesting and highly neurotic, and funny as hell. But she's a horrible teacher, meaning that her lectures are just that and that the content that she talks about is not the exact content that that she tests on, making the workload for this class much more than others.

No. Just. No. I took her class my freshman year. she is extremely disrespectful toward her students and barely taught the material. would not recommend.

You should avoid this prof at ALL COSTS!! Her grading style is so unorganized and "simple" , yet does not make any sense at all. Her lectures are all over the place & have nothing to do with hard worded test. She does not know how to communicate well with students & makes this general class much more difficult than should be. Big no.

Seemed super nice at the beginning, but this was the most unorganized class I have ever taken. Lectures are hard to follow, and she tends to go off topic and never circle back around to what she was originally talking about. Thinks she's amazing because of her previous jobs, and will be sure to tell you about it. Take psych with someone else.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES!!!! The only grades you receive are the exams which are extremely hard. She counts everything below a 95 as an A- unlike the rest of the university. You literally will not get an A in this class, no matter how good of a student you think you are. She almost ruined my love for psychology because of how ridiculous she is.

Does not respond to emails quickly. Will ask for documented proof of absence, including an obituary if you have to go to a funeral, which I find disrespectful. Expects you to remember the tiniest of details from the textbook. Constantly goes off topic. Thinks way too highly of herself. Safe yourself and your stress levels, choose another professor.

I was really looking forward to taking this class, but her class was the only time that would fit in my schedule. If you can take it with another professor I highly recommend it. This class got even worse since we switched to online classes and she made things even more difficult for no reason. She's really rude and nasty it's not worth it.

Capone was completely unprofessional in handling remote learning. Never before have I received such condescending, aggressive emails and sakai announcements from a professor before in my life. The material was interesting but it was impossible to learn anything due to her tendency to go off on extremely inappropriate tangents when teaching.

Prof Capone was an unpleasant professor to say the least. Her teaching style was ineffective and she always found a way to turn the subject back to why technology and social media was bad (even though the class I took was an abnormal psych class). She always went off topic during her lectures and they were never really clear.

There are tests once a week. Those are the only grades. Any makeup tests are short answer only. She frequently goes on tangents during material. She used the R-slur in class (in a non-educational context) and, after receiving an email from a student about it, read the email outloud and defended herself. As a psych professor, she should know better.

quizzes every week, questions would be on minuscule details in the videos or textbook. I had a family member pass away so I emailed her asking for a makeup as the quiz was DURING THE FUNERAL, she emailed the entire class saying the only reasons for makeups were hospitalizations, religious excuses, or exemption from the school.

This class will ruin your GPA. Grading is arbitrary and unpredictable. I had all A's in my previous semester, and I am certain this class will change that. I do find Professor Capone to be humorous and do like her as a person, but as a professor, this class has been terrible. I will study for hours and end up with a very low grade. Unfair grading.

Absolutely do not take. Like other people have said, she seems to be a genuinely nice person and is funny in class but her weekly quizzes are insane. The weekly requirements for each chapter is a lot when taking 4 other courses and if you don't read the book, and I mean every small detail about the book, you'll struggle on the quiz.

The second week of school I got COVID and DIDN'T believe that I was sick after health services contacted her. Her lectures are really long, goes off topic, and is really rude. She expects you to do well on weekly Thursday quizzes, which is impossible!! She is the worst!!!! She is belittling to students when asking for help. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

Exam on new chapter every other class. Slides are usually bland and she only says the important things out loud. Will not let you miss any exam unless you have documentation and a "legit reason." Rambles and gets off topic very easy. Lectures feel like they go on for hours

Its so bad I want to give it a 0 but I cant so Im giving it a 1. If u care about gpa dont take this class. Extremely hard tests only passable if u have photographic memory.

Absolutely terrible. Do not take this class it will drop your GPA. Only grades are tests every week. Her lectures are so confusing because all she does is go off topic. She is also not helpful and rude.

Just know, the weekly test are even worse than stated. They focus on the small details of one off sentences in the text that were never mentioned in lecture. She's terrible at providing any kind of support. She never understood what I was stating in emails and made it extremely difficult to receive any kind of support outside of the classroom.

If the highest grade you want is a C take her class. The only grade for her PSY 235 course is weekly tests that are graded very difficultly and questions are sometimes open for interpretation/ could have multiple answers, but there is only one right answer! You must go to lectures to get notes, or you won't have a chance on the tests.

Signed up for a different prof who was replaced by Capone, should have dropped the class then and there. I studied EVERY DAY for his class without a break. Weekly tests are the only grades and she asks for the most minute details from the book, sometimes even things that were never discussed. She changed the grading halfway through the semester.

This class could be taught without her even being there. All she does is go on off topic tangents for the whole class and then tell you to read the textbook and watch videos. She gives weekly tests and if you dont have the entire chapter as well as all the videos memorized you will fail them. 0/10

You're given tests weekly that you truly need to study for the ENTIRE week even then, they are graded so tedious that you still may not even pass. She never stays on topic and rarely gives you information that you need. BUT, attendance is required if you miss a class she takes a point off of your grade. She is extremely distracting during tests.

This may be one of the worst professors I have ever had. She is extremely disrespectful to students and seems to not care about any one she is "teaching". The weekly exams take a ton of reading and studying since you basically have to teach all of the material to yourself. She also doesn't let you go to to the bathroom which is CRAZY.

Weekly tests on one chapter doesn't seem so bad (no midterm or final) but is an EXTREMELY harsh grader. Expect to fail all quizzes if you can't read her mind. No extra credit or supplementary assignments. Goes through the slides too fast in lecture and gets off topic often, but then is so surprised that everyone is doing poorly.

Capone thinks that she is right all of the time and spends most of the class going on rants about her personal beliefs without any evidence to back up her ridiculous claims. Doesn't let students go to the bathroom and has assigned seats. Feels like high school. I read her awful reviews and still took the class... Bad idea.

10 quizzes averaged for your final grade is absolutely ridiculous. She lectures about stuff that is not even relevant to the quizzes. The quiz has 2 written responses and she gives you 15 possible options for it. She is nice but has no sense of word choice for being a college professor.

I would steer away from this professor if you are not a test taking person. This class is only test based, meaning there are no assignments you pass in, no projects, basically no other way to boost your grade other than taking tests. She sends out, 10-15 new essay questions weekly, and only 2 are chosen on the weekly tests.

PLEASE do not take her course!! Even if it is the only course available do not take it! Instead of grading all 10 essay questions she only grades two. The quiz questions are hard and it is more important that you know how to decode and comprehend them than it is to answer them.

Professor Capone is the worst teacher I have ever had. She goes on left-winged rants every class and doesn't actually teach anything. Her entire class is graded on 10 tests. There is a hard test every Friday on only the textbook. Attendance is required but she doesn't teach. The tests are graded harshly and she doesn't even do the grading, TAs do.

There are a total of 10 tests, every Friday, with 10-15 multiple choice questions and 2 essay questions that are graded harshly, and not even by Dr. Capone. Her TAs grade everything, and if you can't predict exactly what they want you to say, your answer is wrong. Do not take this class for your own sanity.

Dr. Capone is borderline inappropriate with all of the political nonsense she spews each class. When focusing on pregnancy and childbirth, Dr. Capone took it upon herself to tell the female students what they can and cannot do with their bodies, the same goes for breast-feeding. Simply, if you don't agree with her political stance, you're wrong.

DO NOT take this class with her.

Welp. First I'd like to pray to all the fallen students who withdrew from her classes because I honestly don't blame them. Having a friend take her classes with you is a life-saver to help each other with the short essay questions (went from 20+ to 10, I had her last year). I would've given her a 2 to be generous but she doesn't round grades up so.

Two A's in both of her classes somehow, but it is not worth it. Takes up all of your time studying for other classes, and even the student council knows about her bad reputation. I'm ashamed and disappointed, and despite the respect you may give to her as a professor, she may not return the favor -especially if you take extra time during her tests.

If you were thinking it can't be that bad, it really is. Must read every word of the chapters to do well on tests. Just reads off slides made by the textbook company. Is very rude to students experiencing mental health difficulties. Is poorly read on the subject matter and holds many outdated and harmful views. You don't learn and you'll be sad

Lectures do not contain any slides, you just have to listen to her. You're guaranteed to miss something she says when writing down the last thing. Have to read the book or else you're not going to pass the tests, which is the only thing she uses to grade you. No hw. No extra credit. No rounding up.

One of the worst professors I have had, two boring lectures a week and then a test on something she lectured on two weeks ago. Also very condescending

Worst professor I've had so far. We meet three times a week and attendance is mandatory (if you miss be aware of failing) Lectures are always off topic. She's also very degrading to students especially ones that are facing mental health issues (Considering she's a psych prof) No such thing as extra credit and be prepared to teach yourself

DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HER. YOU BE BE DISAPPOINTED. NOTHING IS ON TOPIC YOU WILL LOSE BRAIN CELLS.

This professor was often unprofessional, and communication was slow. Accommodation requests took much longer than expected and required extra steps to resolve. The class environment felt uncomfortable at times. Overall, not a positive experience.
