Most personable professor i've ever had. Very easy to talk to. I only wish the labs where a bit more involved, which I believe she is in process of correcting. She doesn't lecture. I hate lectures, but I wish short lectures where given prior to each lab to explain how what we are doing in the lab would apply in a real world scenario.

Took her for an Internship course that was part of my degree track online, so I didn't have much interaction with her but the few times I did she was nice, helpful, and knowledgable. I would take her again.

Mari Jayne is one of the best. She's easy to approach and talk to. Very willing to work with you. Her classes are fair as far as work and difficulty. If you take her and her class requires TestOut beware. TestOut itself is difficult and the professor has no power over that fact. 5/7 for sure.

Professor Frederick is an awesome instructor. Her expectations are clear, assignments are well explained, and she provides ample opportunity for participation and extra credit. She is the best instructor I have had at Santa Fe so far. She would make a great mentor in the IT field.

This course if very straightforward, and, surprisingly, interesting. The material provided is very evidently, an introduction to information security. This means that the material is, almost, always comprehensible to anyone regardless of background. The professor makes time to do video lectures which are engaging and fun. 11/10 would take again.

Participates in online class more than any other instructor I've encountered. Cares about her students. One of the finest instructors I've had at Santa Fe and I've had some great ones. Only negative - I had trouble searching various Canvas locations to find different parts of weekly assignments... but that could just be me. I anticipate an "A".

Don't expect to not participate then expect her to go out of her way to help you, understandably. However, If you do what's required and have an illness or circumstance she will try to work with you

The class is easy but apparently the final exam is hard. As of April 5, 2016, no one has passed her final exam (the highest grade was a 59 before she curved the grades). To pass the final exam, students must read the chapters, answer the questions for each chapter, and watch her online lectures because it will all be on the final exam.

Professor Frederick has been one of, if not the best online professor I've had thus far. Her perpetual feedback to assignments has been infinitely helpful, she gives live web lectures where you could ask her questions in real time, and of course she is always there to help. I would take another class of hers without any reluctance whatsoever.

This class was very straightforward. Every week you must read a chapter, write a critical thinking response based on the chapter's content and take a quiz. As long as you make it evident to the teacher that you read the material, she will give you a good grade each week. Following this and participating in the discussions will give you an easy A.

Doctor Frederick is awesome! The majority of the out of class learning for this course is done through TestOut Network Pro. In class participation consists of labs and video learning. Just don't expect to turn in late assignments.

This is the second class I have had with Dr. Fredrick I enjoyed the class.

This is an introductory course for the serious IT student but I would also recommend it for business majors thanks to the detailed projects and emphasis on real-world examples.

The class was online, so you have to be self sufficient. However, I have taken online courses before where you don't even know if you have a professor or not. Dr. Frederick was there to answer any questions and in a timely manner too! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely take another class with her.

Frederick is one of those teachers that is willing to go the extra miles for her students. Extra couple of miles, to tell the truth. She makes it easy to stay in contact with her, and she's always willing to listen, and help out if you have an issue. She offers great feedback as well. I just wish she was teaching more classes.

Dr Frederick is an excellent teacher probably because she worked in IT for many years BEFORE teaching. Real world experience makes a HUGE difference in IT. A few of the other IT teachers at Santa Fe have never really worked in IT and you can definitely tell a difference. I would highly recommend Dr. Frederick for any class she it teaching.

TestOut TestOut TestOut. Dedicate 10 hr/week to TestOut if you actually want to learn anything. This is an intro class, but you're expected to know more. You can pass with basic knowledge, but will feel inadequate during class discussions. Lots of Pair/Group projects throughout. None of the TestOut translates directly to anything you do in class.

Great knowledgeable professor The class is new and still needs some work but overall easy class There was some confusion on mandatory conferences even though this is an online class which defeats the purpose but she excused the lack of participation and states she will make it a requirement in future classes. You will need the book very informative

Dr. Frederick is an amazing teacher. Labs are mandatory and you'll have a hard time passing if you miss them, that being said she is very accommodating in making them (one or two) of them up. The hands on feature of the class is really interesting and sometimes frustrating, Dr. Frederick does a good job making sure all students get through.

Dr. Frederick is an wonderful teacher. She's not boring and she shows lots of YouTube videos on the topic of Information Security. She opened my eyes to many new concepts I never new existed. I would highly recommend her class. The textbook is easy to read. There are a lot of written case studies assignments but she is not picky grader.

I had Dr. Frederick for CTS1120 Intro to Info Sec and she is a great teacher. The online classes meet via video conferencing and we are able to interact and ask questions during the lecture. Dr. Frederick makes the course content fun and easy to understand. As long as you do the assignments (which aren't difficult) then the exams are not difficult.

I had Dr. Frederick for Intro to Info Sec. I had the class completely online but Dr. Frederick has an online lecture on mondays where a chat is integrated and you can ask whatever you want if you need help with anything. Class was relatively easy and Dr. Frederick isn't at all harsh on grading.

Excellent Professor; Professional attitude and past experience and works with you when you get stuck. Labs/activities sometimes didn't work even though she said they would, but that seems more IT's fault than hers.

Dr. Frederick's lectures are quite interesting and funny at times. There is a heavy writing component to this course with weekly projects, online discussions and open book quizzes. A manageable 'A' grade if you show up for class & do the homework.

Awesome professor. Great exercises for PC repair and good real world experience. It's hands on so you have to go to class but class is over as soon as you complete the exercises so it's up to you how long class will last.

Dr. Frederick is amazing at teaching networking. She gives you projects based on real projects she's done, so you get a bit of a feel for what you're in for once you get your degree. Group projects not bad but make sure you partners do their work. She will answer your questions and break it down so anyone can understand it.

Don't come to class expecting your presence to grant you an A, but Dr. Frederick will do everything she can to help you succeed. She is capable of explaining the homework on many levels and is patient enough to do it over and over until you get it. Try to take advantage of her knowledge but not her patience :)

Online course but she did a weekly class meeting online which was very helpful (these were recorded for anyone who could not attend). Did not like the group projects because group members liked to work on assignment the day it was due. Reasonable for making up an assignment. If you want to learn and get an A, I would suggest taking her course.

I've had her for intro to security, PC technician, and intro to networking. She does a great job of explaining things and giving students the tools they need to succeed with getting their certifications. Additionally, she seems to enjoy what she teaches which allows students to enjoy the classes as well. I'd give her a 5/5.

Easy A. Online class not much interaction with professor but had before and shes great. Course material is online don't need physical book. Online codes. Read material, complete related assignments, quizzes and four group collaborative assignments through semester. Simple enough to understand content and not get lost.

I loved being in her class. Super easy and I actually did learn a lot. My only complaint is that she really loves group projects. But other than that shes super understanding as long as you keep an open dialogue with her. I had a problem with a group member and she fixed the issue immediately, all you have to do is let her know whats going on

I hads Dr. Frederick's class Summer 2022. Shewas humorous and made the subject matter fun to learn. Weekly Zoom lectures helped to understand the concepts. I saw the review for Fall 2022 and thought it odd since she wasn't even teaching at Santa Fe after August. She went to another college. Bogus.
