Dr. Alvarez is an amazing teacher who truly cares about her students! Before we even started class she wanted to see what types of learners we were to make sure we all learned the material the best way for us. She was always there to help whenever anyone needed it even as far as doing online conferences if we needed it! I loved her!

I had a lot of assumptions about this class, but Dr. Alvarez made it seem so easy. She gives out good explanations and examples. We didn't really use the book, only handouts. Also, gave us a lot of extra credits for the lecture and lab. Cutest personality ever!!!! If you just listen and come to class, you'll easily pass.

Her powerpoints are what you really had to study, if you didn't study those you would not pass her exams. Her exams were not tricky and she would not have content that was not in her slides. Lots of oppourtines for extra credit, sweet teacher. I will say she does have a strong accent, but I was able to understand her fine.

I took 205 over the summer as an online 5 week course. Dr. Alvarez does have a thick accent and was difficult to understand sometimes, but overall was a great teacher. She is a very DETAILED grader though. Make sure to read each question VERY carefully. As long as you study the powerpoints, you should pass the exams no problem.

This was the most organized online course I have taken. This class was a five week summer course and it definitely was not easy. However, Dr. Alvarez is truly the best professor out there. She makes you work for your grade, but she gives every opportunity to do well and is extremely accessible and quick with questions and grading.

I took Dr. Alvarez's class online over the summer. She is very kind and organized. The class was mainly tests and quizzes (only 2 assignments). She offers extra credit Kahoots for chapters. The lecture videos explain everything that is on the test, and she explains the topics well. Despite being a short class, I didn't feel stressed from the load.

Definitely recommend taking Dr. Alvarez's BIO205 class. She provides excellent feedback and is very quick to respond in detail to help get clarification on a topic. As long as you follow along with the lectures, you wont have a problem on the quizzes/exams. She also provides optional Zoom meetings about 4 times a week to answer any questions.

Attended summer Bio205 6 week class. It is a difficult class with a lot of work. Time management skills are a must. Her lectures, study guides, and extra reviews will help you succeed. Although I feel pretty good at understanding the life sciences, I was very pleased to learn a lot from this course. EVERY lecture had study guides that I would use to prepare for the quiz and module exam. Not only did we have those to study for when it came to the exam, but there was ALWAYS 3-4 kahoots that helped and gave you extra credit.

Her labs are engaging and helpful, and she provides extra credit before exams. I'm taking her again for 205 and would definitely recommend her!
