Best Math teacher ever! She approaced math problems from all aspects of solving it, and understood her students questions. She's the type of teacher who wants her students to pass. If I could have as a math teacher for the rest of my required classes, I would definately scheduale my plans to have her as a teacher. Loved her!
I love her! Favorite teacher at the JC hands-down. She just wants her students to learn the material. I would email her homework questions, and she would email me the completed question and all of the answers. She seems confusiong at first, but if you try & ask her for help it is all good. I got an A & I was expecting a C.
i didnt know a thing about stats but when i took her i learned so much and trust me i HATE math. She's really funny and makes class fun!

GREAT GREAT TEACHER! I hate math, but this class was great. She explains everything so well. Always avalibale by email for help and always willing to help. AMAZING TEACHER. I LOVED HER!!!!
Best math teacher ever!!! She's extremely helpful and to the point. She wants students to learn in her class and is a wonderful teacher. She may seem difficult at first but she is really the nicest math teacher you'll ever meet. I highly reccommend her!!
She tries to be helpful, but is extremely confusing and talks way too fast. Also she can be rude and condescending if you don't agree with her.
Incredible stats teacher! Loved this class, loved her supportive, helpful attitude, loved her inspiring teaching rigor! Ask her about her job calculating stats during the Bush/Gore election and how her team decided the victor. So cool!
Excellent statistics teacher. Her lectures are easy to understand and she is able to give real-life instances of how concepts are used. Tests are fair and she is willing to give extra help when you ask. I would recommend her to anyone interested in the subject, she is good at what she does.
I love Mrs. Robertson! She is so helpful and is wonderful at teaching. She can be intimidating at first, but she's really a sweetheart. She's is great at understanding your questions and explaining problems. I definately recommend her.
She is very clear and helpful, however, make sure you study consistently- for this class has alot of info that stacks up! Do your homework!
well, I don't know about recommending her. I don't get her personality, she is sarcastic and it comes off rude in my perspective. She does excellent real life examples and is always willing to help which is a plus. She talks really really fast for me and writes super fast too but SERIOUSLY MAINTAIN HOMEWORK AND ASK QUESTIONS! it's a tough class
She talks very fast and is hard to understand sometimes. The examples are right out of the book so it is easy enough to reference. Homework is optional (except for a few) and she is willing to work outside of class with students and is easy to contact. Its a difficult class but manageable if you study enough.
Abosolutely loved Maria's class. She is extreamly helpful and is willing to spend the extra time with you if you need it. If you go to class everyday and do the homework you will for sure understand the material. She writes her notes on an overhead so no concepts are ever missed. She's brilliant!
While I admired Maria-Antonia's dedication and mastery of her subject matter, she seemed unusually quirky and neurotic. I noticed she seemed to treat male students with pref. My only real criticism is her going over simple concepts painfully slow and difficult concepts quickly. She proved flexible to student needs overall.
This is a class where you cannot miss any days because you will fall behind. I had a hard time understanding what the text book was trying to tell me, thankfully she is an excellent teacher. There is a ton of definitions and note taking, but she made it very easy to understand. Highly recommend her.
Maria is a wonderful teacher! She is always available to help, and will usually answer your emails within a couple of hours. She genuinely cares about her subject and her students. Her lectures are clear and concise and she always tells us why certain formulae work which makes it easier to learn. Do the homework to study! Favorite teacher at SRJC!
Maria-Antonia is a fantastic instructor. She did a great job at explaining all concepts. Exams were extremely fair. I thought she was hilarious, but other classmates did not understand her humor. I looked forward to going to class and will miss her when I transfer. Take Maria-Antonia you will not regret it!
Miss Robertson made having a math class at 7 AM bearable. Very knowledgeable and helpful with clear lectures. She has high standards for her students and grades accordingly. Not the easiest A, but easy enough if you put effort into it. Has a quirky charm that grows on you. Definitely one of my favorite teachers ever.
She is always open and ready to answer questions during her office hours and she actually found a way to make stats fun. I found her to be quite funny and her accent certainly helps keep you interested, haha.
I thought she was sort of rude and not helpful. She would tell us not to ask questions in class but only in an email which I felt was very difficult to do. She rushes a lot during class which can make things difficult and she goes over tough material very quickly. I dropped this class to take it with someone else.
She teaches so well and makes sure we understand everything. She's always available even late/or weekends via email. Her class is easy if you do the homework, she assigns them perfectly so you get enough practice for tests.Quizzes are simple and work as a review! If you pay attn in class and do the homework, you'll get an A without extra studying!
I found this teacher to be great. Although she went through the material fast, she gave great examples and she always available to answer question. She always post her notes from class. She does not give study guides but she gives old test to study from. They helped a lot. Don’t miss class, you’ll fall behind. I do recommend this teacher.
Professor Robertson is a great teacher. She is very clear and enthusiastic. Her tests are not difficult (she gives partial credit), and there are no surprises if you read over the lecture notes and attend class. I would definitely recommend her.
Maria is such a great teacher. i hate math and i got an A. statistics is super hard and so is she but she will make sure you learn the material if its that thing she do holla
Difficult class, but Robertson really tries to make sure you understand the problems, and also sends you the notes through email in case your a horrible note taker like I am. Her tests are hard, but she bases the grade on the work throughout the problem, not just the answer. Overall, great teacher.
Maria-Antonia is a fantastic teacher. I had a horrible experience with statistics in the past. She not only undid all the damage, but made me really understand and actually like the subject. She is fun and funny too. Take her if you can - you will be glad you did!
I absolutely loved Maria. She is hard, and makes you work but if you stay with the homework and participate in class, you will do well. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. she will appreciate that, and she makes it clear what she's expecting from you and what she will test you on. She's intense but by far my favorite teacher at the JC so far :)
Robertson was so great. I hated math & with her i actually grew to like it even though it was still a tough subject for me. Concepts are clear and tests are formatted similarly. She sends out examples of previous tests before the actual tests so you'll know whats on there.
Took class because all reviews were great. But she chooses students to help and others to ignore. I am a great student and whenever I would ask her for help she wouldn't! Would almost completely disregard me! But there were others she would spend a ton of time with and help. Just hope she chooses to like you and if not it will be a long semester...
She is an amazing teacher and her class is straightforward. 5 tests and a few homework assignment and quizzes. My class was a 2 hour lecture at 7am but I was NEVER bored in her class. She makes everything so clear and understandable. Before every test she sends out a practice test, which is literally the same layout for the test.
Took this class at 7am and I loved it, and I've never been great at math. She is funny, engaging, and makes the material interesting to learn. I thought I'd have a hard time getting up and wanting to go to class, but I hardly missed any. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs stats, or enjoys learning new things. She was amazing!
Maria is a very clear, concise teacher that will take tremendous amounts of her class time, even delve into her personal time to ensure that the students that care about passing and understanding material get what they need. As long as you actively participate in your own learning experience, she will ensure you understand the material and do well.
She makes the math problems interesting by using real statistics from news articles. She makes the material easy to understand. She even emails you the lectures after every class and sends you a practice test before exams. She sets you up for success.
I love this professor. She was very clear throughout the course as to what she expected, gives plenty of review before tests and really strives to make sure you understand the material.
Honestly, Robertson is awesome. she is ALWAYS there to help you out when you need her via office hours or email. Her class is definitely tough (given any stats class) but you actually learn the material in her class. She leaves you wide awake after a 7 am class and I definitely recommend
Maria will make sure that you understand the material. She is extremely helpful, and posses strong knowledge of Statistics. She is my favorite teacher at JC so far.
Very nice person, but she does grade hard. The class runs very fast, and it is hard to understand her at times because she talks really fast. There is lots of homework but she doesn't always collect it. She will at times give you the homework that needs to be turned in by email. This may be three or four days after the lecture. lots of lectures.
Maria talks way too fast and is rushed constantly. She makes you assume things on her test, and if you don't she will not give you credit for what should be a correct answer. She is not helpful and answers her phone in class. She grades outrageously hard and asks you questions that you don't know and then argues why you are wrong. DONT TAKE HER.
I've had apprehensions, and anxiety with math since I was young. Do not take this class if you have any learning disabilities. The instructor talks really fast, and goes through the material very fast. it is hard to understand her at times. The majority of the class is lectures. We have a book but do not refer to much. We mainly sit and lisen.
I have always had a hard time with Math. Robertson changed that for me, she is very clear with her lessons and how she wants you to do them. She talks fast because she has a lot of info to get through. She sends her notes after each lesson so you don't miss anything. She is always willing to help. If you want to understand Stats, take her.
First of all she grades so hard . She foreal took a whole point off for forgetting to put an equal sign next to my answer on a test . She talks so fast and her attitude is salty. She throws mad shade at students and I dont think it registers to her she's being mean . look else where for a stats professor cause best believe she ain't for you .
A fabulous professor - I would take again if I had to take another math course but thankfully I do not have to as I hate math! She was so clear and her expectations are really reasonable. I am awful at math, was working full time, taking a full load of classes and earned a B - definitely could have achieved an A if I had studied a bit more!
She's one of my favorite teachers I've ever taken. She is hard on grading, but she tells you exactly what she wants to see, you just have to remember it. She doesn't leave you with any questions about the tests, and wants to make sure every single person in the class understands the material. Just listen, study a little bit, and you'll do well.
Like other raters I found that she does speak very fast, which took getting used to. BUT she was very accessible during office hours and email. I would have struggled a lot if I didn't take advantage of these. She was very supportive and encouraging. The tests were really hard. I also used outside resources like tutoring & online. Don't skip class!
Mrs Robertson is amazing! I had her class for Math155 and will be taking her again for Math15. A lot of reviews complain about her being a tough grader but thats math, if you don't put an equals sign of course it's wrong. She is always clear about the expectation and reminds students constantly. She is very fair with her grading. Highly recommend
Maria is a very helpful teacher. She takes things slowly, and will provide additional examples/ help to those who need it. Her test reviews are detailed, and help prepare you for the test. I took math15 in highschool but did not pass, but passed easily with an A in Maria's class.
Im a firm believer that anyone can give instructions but it takes someone really special to teach. Maria-Antonia Robertson is an amazing professor. As long as you care and put in your best effort, so will she. Maria is also great at answering questions so you dont feel lost. So show up to class and learn! you wont be disappointed. I wasnt.
I'm not a math fan whatsoever, but she made me really like Stats. Not only is she available at office hours, but she responds so fast to emails and gives you practice tests for EVERY test. She really wants you to succeed. Yes, there is a lot of homework but she's also available to help. Would take her again for sure!
I'm awful at math. I dread it. I never once dreaded this class, she is a clear concise instructor who ensures her students know the material. Her practice tests truly prep you to succeed on the test. Kind & truly cares about all students equally. If there is something you MUST do on your exam she'll let you know. I got an A but I'd give her an A++
Maria has a genuine interest in her students success. She has very clear expectations and prepares students to meet them. She is available for extra help outside class. I havent taken a math class in over 10 years and Marias class was fun and informative.
One of my favorite math professors I have taken at SRJC. She always answering any questions you have and during lectures you actually understand what shes saying because shes going through it all and makes sure everyone understands the topic. Do all the homework and practice tests and quizzes it truly does help in the class and on the exams.
I suck at math, primarily because I hate it, but she somehow made it fun! Upbeat personality with a sense of humor, great at explaining things that other teachers make difficult, and overall just such a great math teacher. Expected amount of homework. She's so helpful and is overall really good at what she does. Totally recommend!
I could barely pass algebra, but once the math self placement was enabled, I put myself is Professor Robertsons stats class. She is a truly caring teacher who gives multiple opportunities to raise your grade! She gives practice tests that are super similar to the actual tests. As long as you put in some effort, youll pass this class!
Professor Robertson is a great professor. She is organized, efficent, and intelligent. Her practice exams are almost identical to her test which makes it easier to learn the material and retain information. I highly recommend taking her, especially if you struggle with math and would like an enjoyable professor. I took her twice!
I LOVED Maria Antonia! She was great; I've always hated math, but she made me enjoy it for the first time in my life. She explains things thoroughly and doesn't speed through things. So easy to understand more complicated concepts. She's incredible! Kind, caring, and accessible outside of class for help. She makes math less painful. Take her!
One of the best professors I've ever had! Ms. Robertson allowed me to realize math isn't scary, and she teaches in a way that actually makes sense and allows you to understand big concepts in simple terms. Her grading rubric is also super clear. While the coursework could be difficult, she actually cares about wanting her students to succeed.
Professor Robinson was one of the best professors I've had at SRJC! The highest grade I had ever gotten in a math class before was a C-, but she believed in me, and I had to put in twice the amount of hours as anyone else, but she also did as well to help me and I ended up getting an A. If you are willing to become a good student, she will help you
I didnt feel confident in math before taking this class with Maria. She offers all the help you need. Practice tests and quizzes are heavily reflected from the real thing. Do your homework and practice exams and you will do amazing!
Professor Robertson was the best stats teacher! I was so scared to take Math 15, because I hadn't taken math in a long time. But she explained everything from the very beginning. You have to take notes, and if you happen to miss a day, no worries she emails her notes at the end of every class. Practice tests help so much.
When first joining the class she seemed pretty intense, but as the semester continued she seemed to become a lot more approachable. She is an incredibly smart, well-spoken professor, and she definitely wants her students to succeed. Tests are a big part of your grade, but she gives practice exams which are super similar so that you can study. 10/10
First of all, I took this class with the fires in 2020. This teacher was not accommodating to students who were impacted by them. I have never gotten above a C- in a math class, and when I would ask for help, she would tell me just to re-read the notes. She barely gives examples, and rushes material. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Was not accommodating for students that have a harder time with math but have completed all the courses leading up to this class. Grades very harshly given and she does not accept late work (which is hard since I work 40 plus hours a week so I sometimes can't make it back in time to submit assignments). This class made me hate life.
Robertson is a caring professor who truly wants you to succeed. The practice tests are nearly identical to the tests, so if you take those, do the hw, & attend the office hours (or even email) if you have any questions, you will easily pass. She was flexible and understanding throughout this chaotic semester, & was sure to communicate any changes.
This professor is able to communicate and give you confidence in understanding the math, which helped me as a s student to be successful throughout the course. (I last took math 15 years ago) She is very flexible and understanding when you reach out to her. Gives practice test before the test and are very helpful. I highly recommend her!
She is very well spoken and clear when it comes to Stats. Lecture notes are provided so just listen to the lecture and make sure you read through the notes after class. If you do her practice tests and put time into the class you will pass.
Mrs. Robertson is an incredible professor. She has an ability to teach statistics to anyone willing to listen. She provides notes which you need to read if you want to do well. Interactive zoom sessions which require every students input. If you read the notes and do the homework, you will pass this class!
I would highly recommend Mrs. Robertson to anyone who actually wants to learn Statistics. As long as you show up, put in the work, and study for tests you will pass without a problem.
Honestly one of the worst math teachers I have ever taken, she is so rude and disrespectful, especially to those who struggle with math. If math comes easy to you the class might not be as frustrating to take but if you struggle with math please DO NOT take this class with her. she gives back horrible feedback especially when you ask her a question
Please please please DO NOT take this class, she is so rude, not helpful at all and will throw shade at students who ask questions. She is not helpful at all for students who struggle with this class. Please do not waste your time.
She is amazing!!! Take her class. She is always there to help. I don't think there was ever a time I left her office hours still confused. There is a lot of workload, but it is expected with any math class. She gives extensions. Tests are a bit heavy but she provides practice tests and opportunities to get points back. Would take her class again
Honestly I thought I was going to like her as a teacher but she made this class dreadful. We were all told to write as an assignment how much math we have done and if its our strong suit. I told her I struggle with it yet the whole semester when I needed help or emailed her she never respond. Very harsh teacher.
Prepare to teach yourself. Covers sections that are going to be on the test one or two days before the test day. You'll have a short amount of time to take for each test in this course. If you have a hard time with math or want to earn easy credit, Do not take this class. Practice tests and homework are quite different from the tests. Trust me!
Top 3 teachers I've ever had. She goes above & beyond to help her students succeed. (Yes, you still have to work hard.) She makes herself available outside of class more than she's required to, she's very responsive, her lectures are great, and she gives students practice tests to complete before tests that properly prepare you for the test. LOVE!!
This is a much easier class than pre-calculus, but you still have to study and ask questions. Ms.Robertson wants her students to succeed and has office hours available for those who need extra help, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity. Great overall class, amazing and funny professor, don't be shy to ask questions!
I would take Math 27 course with this instructor because she has a passion for teaching it to her students. This instructor stays after class to help her students. Just come to class every time and you will pass. However, this course is difficult so I highly recommend to teach yourself the material before the course starts.
I have taken 100+ units at SRJC, so I have had many instructors and professors. Without question, Mrs. Robertson is top three. She is incredibly helpful; responds quickly to emails; has a great sense of humor which occasionally shines through in her lectures, and has a teaching style that will give you a new perspective on math. Loved her class!
She was very caring and supportive of students. She is very available and helpful of her students. There is homework throughout the week, but you can ask for extensions and its online on platform that allows you to send her questions and she often gets back by the end of the night. For tests you get a formula sheet and are able to make up points.
I really recommend her if your horrible in math because she dumbs it down so the students can grasp it &she does go above and beyond. the class can be hard in general so be prepared but if you show up everyday and do homework you will be just fine. Im really happy I has her as a professor.
She made me enjoy math . Glad i took stats with her.
On tests she provides formula sheets not all tests but still allows them. Homework load is not heavy, only doing uneven problems. From what I remember one test was hard and she let the class turn next to the person beside them and work on one problem from the test.
A person who wants to help you to understand the material. Regardless of what math, she understands the best and will help.
She does a great job of explaining the content and emphasizing key points or information you will need in the future. She has office hours after every class, always takes questions and genuinely wants you to understand. She moves fast but as long as you do the homework, keep up with the lectures, and are clear on material you should be good.
Professor Robertson is one of the most rude teachers I have had. She is a tough grader who will mark you down for the littlest things. Don't let her rate my professor rating fool you.
I took Professor Robertson's class a few semesters ago. She was excellent and amazing at teaching. She explains everything clearly and gives you practice exams that really help. She is always happy to answer questions. There is hw almost every day, but it really helps you retain all the information from lecture.
Prof. Robertson was a splendid teacher. Provides many examples, clear test dates, and tutor hours. I'm easily intimidated by math teachers, but when I got to know her she was quite caring and witty. Very understanding of DRD accommodations and late work. Her feedback is also incredibly thorough!
I have never been good at math, but she explained things in a way that even I could grasp it. Her lecture packets are a lifesaver and are so helpful for the homework and tests. She does call on you quite a bit in class to answer, which is a little bit alarming, but it helps you become more comfortable with it throughout.
if u claim to be "bad at math," take maria's class, trust me. best math prof i've ever had. lectures are long, but easy to follow as she provides notes for u to fill out with her. ask as many questions as u need! great explainations! hw is pretty time consuming but it's not bad as long as u have your class notes! take advantage of office hours!!
Best math course I have taken. I hadn't passed Algebra twice, then CA laws changed, and I had no choice but to take a higher course math. She was clear and set you up to succeed. Do the homework, this helps with the tests. You also had the opportunity to redo your worst page after a test, and your worst test at the end of the semester.
I was afraid going in because math isn't my best subject but she made me actually enjoy going to class. she does amazing lectures and it shows that she wants you to learn the material. She is by far the best math teacher i have had.
Robertson's passion for statistics is inspiring, you experience it in lecture. I grew so much during this course. Your grade is entirely dependent on your effort. She gives you everything you need and more. I took the course to satisfy a math requirement, however I truly enjoyed the class. I highly recommend taking stats with Professor Robertson!
I took Professor Robertson for stats a few semester back. She was amazing and from what I've heard continues to be amazing. She is the best at breaking things down for her students. I am convinced that anyone can pass her class. She really makes sure you understand before moving on. I'm lucky to have taken statistics with her.
