i took her experimental psychology course. what horrible teacher. she was very unclear, came 6 weeks late into the semester. no hands on experiments. i have no respect for this prof.
she is impossible to get a hold of. theres a lot of work required and she's not readily available. very serious and structured
she is very unkind, doesn't seem to care about the student
despite the horrible things said about this poor lady, i liked her! im taking her this summer for infant and child development and i thought she was great! i have an A in the class so far...she is very passionate about what she teaches, not easy, but fair!
excruciatingly tough grader. takes off major points in essay sections of tests. not warm and friendly, can be brusque and appear to disregard students' feelings. students in class who kiss up appear to be more favored. do NOT recommend this teacher.
not nice to students, not helpful, not accesible, not friendly
Needs to brush up on her people skills, not helpful and basically makes you feel stupid
she is not all that she thinks she is
I liked her alot, she was very helpful to me.
She works you hard and you learn alot and she keeps you interested. I liked her.
Not so great and not so nice.
I had her for psyc. of infancy/childhood as well as for experimental psych. Despite what everyone else says, I found that she was very helpful and her lectures made sense. Her tests were mainly from the lectures.
took her this summer and loved the class. She expects alot and her tests aren't all that easy, but study and do the work and you'll be fine. Plus the material is interesting and she has lots of stories.
I liked her class.
I thought she was very helpful, available for questions, and clear about her expectations for students work.
avoid at all costs.
LOVED HER -- WOULD TAKE AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT!
Knows what she's talking about. Exams make sense if you study review sheets. Always willing to help if you don't get it.
She really cares about her students. Even though she's busy, she answers questions and talks through problems.
Had her in '96 and '97. Took Infant and Childhood development while she was pregnant (obviously very appropriate that semester) and Experimental Psychology. Very friendly, fair and knowledgeable.
Really nice, really helpful, takes the time to answer your questions, always willing to work with her students.
Good teacher.
This teacher was the worst I have ever encountered. If she was going to miss so much time, don't teach halfway through the semester. I took her class because she had a great reputation. I am still disgusted that I took her class. John Webster thank god you taught this class as well. Horrible, what the hell did she even teach me?
She was a great professor! I would recommend her to anyone because even though she was difficult, she was helpful and cared about her students.
I think Dr. Fracasso is awesome. She is enthusiastic during her lectures and she gives examples for literally every concept she teaches. She moves quick in class and the tests are difficult MC, fill-in, and a few short response. You will need the book. Wonderful teacher!
Very interested in her subject and tells you stories about her personal experiences. First day of class she said "I'll teach what the book says and then I'll tell you what really happens" This course would be great for anyone wanting to work with kids or even have their own kids. Very interesting. Only downside are question which teach the class
She's awesome. I thought she was interesting and really cared. She expects you do the work, but helps when you don't understand. I'm taking her again next semester.
Very good teacher. Need book. Gives study guides BUT the study guides can between 10-30 pgs for each Chapter. But she tells you whats on the tests. 4 tests and 2 papers.
sign in attendance sheet 4 tests, gives study guides but there is too much information on them cant learn it all for test about 1/4 material is on test. MC and S.A. doesnt tell you what short answer is about. 2 papers 1 oberving a kid and the other is a group research paper 8pgs on studying child development including presenting it. not recommended
Seems as though there is an exam every 2-3 weeks. She gives study guides but it literally covers every thing she talked about and they are 15-20 pages per chapter. She tends to play favorites and also gets sidetracked a lot. also recquires 2 papers which are relatively easy. Possible to get an A if u literally study every night
The study guides are literally 15 pages per chapter and the first test is 6 chapters. Absolutley insane. She does not even know the material herself. Take a different teacher.
worst teacher i have ever had. Study guides are ridiculously long and her tests are nearly impossible to pass. And attendance is mandatory. DO NOT TAKE HER
She tests hard. 2/3 multiple choice 1/3 short answer. but the short answer in depth and comprehensive. She has a fetish for testing on the chart things she puts on her ppts. After failing two tests I found that taking notes in lecture and reading the book was the way to pass. BEWARE THIS CLASS IS HARD. I think i am going to scrape by with a C or D+
Read the book, take notes, study and you'll do fine! If study guides are too long, just don't use them - it's your choice.
She was such a hardass but she really cared about her students. I started out getting low B's but by the end, I improved to A's and because I improved she gave me an A. She knew my name, out of a class of 75 people. She was hella funny, super cool and super helpful. I'd take any class she taught.
Wonderful! I took her at 9:30am and she made it so interesting! She teaches what is important, stays on topic, is passionate about the subject, her power points are clear, and she really knows her stuff. Take notes! and you'll be fine. She really cares about her students. Would take any class with her. Strongly recommend!
Great professor for a morning class. always lively. if you need help all you have to do is ask. great woman. i never opened the book, and rarely studied. i'll be getting a B, it's not a bad class, but take it with Dr.F shes great.
I would definitely recommend Fracasso to anyone having to take a psych class. She's lively, helpful and always clear on what she is teaching. You can tell that she definitely cares about her students. I would also agree that she is very passionate about psych in general. Take notes from her pwrpts and you'll be totally fine. I would take her again.
If you like the topic and want to be challenged, then Fracasso is a great pick. She knows her stuff and tells cool stories to keep it interesting. I suggest printing off her PP outlines, writing lecture notes in the margins and making flashcards off that, then read the chapter's summary sections for studying. Each exam covers 4 chapters, so study!
Enjoyed her class, she is really passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. Material can get a bit dry and exams can be hard.
Pleasant person and pretty thorough lecturer. Is sometimes contradictory.
Dr. F is seriously one of the best in the department! she wants you to succeed and understand the material. tests are hard but she gives you everything you need to study for them! STUDY! She will help you at anytime, is LIVELY, understanding, flexible, and makes you want to attend class! Take her if you get the chance!!!!
Dr. Fracasso has been my favorite professor in the department so far. She is vibrant, exciting, and passionate about her class. She keeps you laughing. You need to book, some stuff she doesn't put on the slides. Study hard for the tests, they can be challenging. Overall, excellent teacher and class! Take her!
She is the best! She wants you to do good in her class, she follows the book, great power points and chapter outlines. No question about what she wants from you. Her class is never boring. I definitely recommend her!
This class was super challenging. The information seemed common sense but exams were really hard. She takes attendance in the beginning of every class and attending can help boost your grade at the end. Overall, very nice teacher but study hard and in advance for exams.
Great teacher. Makes class interesting, especially at 8AM. Is willing to help and gives study guides for every test. Definitely recommend.
Her tests are very hard with a lot of information. Talks very fast. This professor is very unprofessional, I scheduled 2 meetings and got blown off both times without any email.
Loved this class and this professor. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you go to class everyday you see alot of that stuff on the exam. Exams are kinda hard, so take this class if you want to learn.
Her tests are impossible. She puts so much information into them it's ridiculous. Plus, 12 one page papers and 2 reflection papers. She talks fast and is very opinionated about certain areas and spends too much time on them when they aren't important on the test
Good teacher. Interesting and knowledgeable. Very helpful. Taking again next semester.
Really a sweet woman. Don't let these reviews fool you. She expects you to learn and work hard but she is always willing to help you and if you put in the effort and study youll get a good grade.
Dr. Fracasso is an excellent teacher. She makes the class lively and engaging, especially for 8ams. Yes, her exams can be difficult but if you attend class and actually study you should do fine. Highly recommended.
Kind of difficult class but she's a great teacher. Her study guides are basic outlines of the exams and if you study you'll do fine!
Do NOT take this class with Fracasso! She is far from helpful, her assignments are not well thought out and therefore confusing. Her tests are kind of difficult make sure you read the chapters. She provides study guides but they are in short answer form and are not very helpful for the test. Also, she has anywhere from 8 to 12 short answer questions
Loved this class and teacher. Very helpful and wants you to do your best. Definitely recommend.
This is not an easy class. You really need to be motivated and work hard to get a decent grade. Exams are very, very hard and you must study for them. Along with four exams there are 5 papers throughout the semester. Do not recommend if you want to keep up tour GPA.
Dr. Fracasso is a great teacher. She makes the content we learn very relatable. Yes her exams are hard. The are 50 multiple choice and 8-12 short answer. She gives you study guides, pair that with going to class, and reading the text book then you should be alight. She is a lot of fun!
Dr. Fracasso definitely made this 8am more interesting. She knows her stuff and is good at teaching it. There's four tests and a paper where you can raise a virtual child or observe a real one and write about your experience. Tests are kind of difficult. You can get 2 EC points per chapter if you do questions for it.
Fracasso is AMAZING. every professor should be like her. lectures are interesting, she keeps you engaged. exams are a big tough but if you study the EXTRA CREDIT study questions, you'll do fine. super interested in her students and wants everyone to succeed.
I loved Dr. Fracasso! She is so passionate about child development and it shows. There is a lot of note taking so be prepared to write. If you study, and do the extra credit you should pass. And she incorporates humor into her lectures which is awesome. She makes it easy to come to class early in the morning.
Fracasso is an AMAZING professor! She makes a 8am class so interesting. She had 4 exams, but the study questions are a big help. She would use some of the questions and put them on the exam. But, if you study you'll be fine. You can tell that she loves what she teaches! And I recommend anyone for this class! I got a HIGH B in her class!
This class is filled with interesting information, and it's honestly not a bad class for 8am. Fracasso gives great examples and extra credit for every chapter. Her tests are extremely tough and a lot of short answer. Theres 4 tests and one paper. Doing good on the paper will hopefully help boost your grade. Definitely need to study to pass.
Fracasso is a awesome human being. Her 8am classes were worth it though it is a lot of information she keeps it interesting. The negative part about it is that her extra credit is a lot of work but I highly recommend it and here test are extremely hard. Studying the night before there will be no way you will pass. 4 Test and 1 Paper
I loved this class and this professor. She knows what she's talking about and likes to teach it. Go to class, read the book, and review study guides for the test ans you should do fine. Her tests are only hard if you don't come to class or study.
hardest psych class i've taken. The content is interesting, dr. fracasso is a great teacher but her tests are EXTREMELY difficult. Attendance is crucial and the extra credit question definitely help a lot but they're a lot of work for only 2 points. Take a few days to study for each exam. 4 tests 1 paper.
IF you really wanna learn take her. She is a really good professor, The classes are just hard. It's ALOT of info, but she does a GREAT job of providing you with the info. She post the PP slides and chapter outlines on BB. Always willing to meet, 1 major project, 10 question quizzes per chapter on BB. One of the best professors!
Dr. Fracasso is an amazing professor. She is very passionate about teaching and although the class is difficult, she really does want you to succeed. Tests are really difficult so make sure you study. If you want to learn something take a class with Dr. Fracasso.
Super easy if you come to class, plus lectures are online
Professor Fracasso makes class very interesting. She likes to crack jokes and try to make the material enjoyable! You get 5 absences throughout the course, so use them wisely. There are a few tests, 1 paper, and an easy open note quiz each chapter. Study for the test and go to class and you will be fine!! She is awesome!
I love her as a professor. It is very easy to follow along with the lectures because she keeps you engaged the entire time and her in class examples are very helpful. She gives you a lot of material to help you understand the topics and she posts the powerpoints ahead of time which is hecka clutch. However, HER TESTS ARE SUPER HARD
Dr Fracasso is a pretty intense professor, but it's very clear how much she cares about her students and the material she teaches. Reading the book is necessary, but he lectures and power points line up perfectly with the book, so it isn't crucial. Her lectures are very engaging and time usually goes fast. Exams are multiple choice but difficult
Her class is very challenging. It seems like she is hard to please. She was usually available outside of class. Her test are hard. You might study all semester and still not get an A. If you take her class, good luck (you will need it)!!!
Dr. Fracasso is amazing! Her exams are tough, and she knows it, but if you put in the time to study, you will be fine! I always enjoyed her lectures and definitely learned a lot from her class. She is one of the best professors I have had. 4 Exams, multiple choice and essays. One paper. 10 question online chapter quizzes.
Im a straight A student and got a C in her class. She doesnt care about students. She is an insanely hard grader, the hardest grader I have ever had. Understanding the material isnt enough for her. The one thing I will say is lectures are very interesting and engaging and I love that but it doesnt make up for how tough she grades
Interesting lectures. Very knowledgeable and explains concepts. Nice person. I liked the fact that there were quizzes before tests and there was nothing on the tests that we didnt learn in class. Def take again.
Definitely is not good at replying to email. Tests are difficult but everything on them was discussed in class. She can be flexible if you approach her about a topic, but you will have to put forth the effort
4 exams + the final. 1 paper & online quizzes for each chapter. Exams are TOUGH give yourself at least a week to study, she does offer extra credit attendance MATTERS after 2 unexcused absences your grade drops a letter you will need the textbook for the paper (observation paper). This is not an easy A class so be prepared to put in the work.
She's a really good professor and her lectures follows the powerpoint's that she posts online and gives great real life examples to go with the information. There are 4 tests (including the final) and the final isn't cumulative. The tests are pretty challenging, but everything is from class. Plenty of extra credit opportunities, just study hard.
Love her, the exams aren't hard just study and go to class. It also helps if you go to her office hours and talk to her if you need help because she cares. The quizzes bring up your grade as well as the extra credit. The observation paper wasn't hard just make sure you hit all of the criteria.
This class is REALLY challenging. However, Dr. Fracassco is an interesting speaker and is really knowledgeable. The lectures are pretty engaging and attendance is mandatory, so go to class. The tests are hard, start studying a week before.
This class is super challenging. She is a great speaker and tells personal stories. some topics are touchy subjects but interesting. attendance mandatory, extra credit opportunities, quizzes, tests and 1 paper are what your grade is out of. Paper criteria was a little confusing. she wanted stuff that she didn't mention.
Dr. Fracasso is a great professor. She knows her stuff and cares about her students. Study and youll do fine.
She's a very nice professor and cares about students, but is very horrible at explain material and what she wants you to do within the papers that are due in the class. She never emails back unless its like a yes or no questions. If you need a lot of help in writing and need things explained to you, take a different teacher.
Her class was great! The tests were intense, but I really learned a lot from her. She is tough, but fair and really cares about her students. Not so great with responding to emails, but still an AWESOME teacher.
She was a nice lady. HOWEVER, her class was the hardest psyc class Ive taken. You only have 4 exams and 1 paper, that are DIFFICULT, there is nothing else to back you up if do bad. Attendance is mandatory. She is a tough grader, never failed on a paper before until now its like she expect PhD level writing. I wouldnt recommended this professor.
Absolute worst professor at Towson University. She is not flexible, and so stuck up she wont reply to your emails. She says attendance matters, and I attended every class but she still failed me. I got an A on my papers in all my other classes but in hers I got a D. Terrible, terrible, terrible. You will regret taking her class!
Shes awesome. Best teacher Ive had at TU. She cares about how you do, helps with questions in and out of class. Tests are hard, you I learned a lot.
Dr. Fracasso is so interesting to listen to while she lectures. Obviously really cares about the information she is teaching. Was very willing to help if needed and asked for. She is also trying her best to help us all right now with this new transition to online only. I would highly recommend.
Shes a great teacher. She expects you to do the work because she cares about her students and the information she teaches. Lectures and power points line up with the book, so read book, go to class, and youll do fine.
She is a great professor. Shes passionate about her classes and wants students to understand and succeed. Definitely recommend her.
This was my second time taking Dr. Fracasso and it was the same as the first time I took her. 3 exams, quizzes for each chapter, and 1 research paper. Helps if you attend every class because she is lecture heavy. During the pandemic she was alright, we kept all assignments but herself and the TAs were super accessible.
Fracasso asked some opinionated questions on our final, and overall stopped really teaching when we went to an online format. Just posted powerpoints and had you figure it out on your own, which doesn't really work with a 400 level course. Her exams were definitely pulling information from some other resource because it wasn't in the materials give
do not take her. she claims the class is very hard as it is a 400 level, but does not teach anything new and grades EXTREMELY hard for no reason
She is a caring professor that does whatever she can for her students. Tests are challenging but not a problem if you study.
She'll call random people to answer questions and if you don't know the answer or don't unmute fast enough, she'll make you look bad. She makes the class unenjoyable but attendance is mandatory. Her PowerPoints are confusing and undetailed but she's a heavy grader. There's a BB quiz every week and she doesn't allow us to back track to fix answers.
She do not give you enough time to take the quiz and the power point are confusing! She will call you out to answer the questions
I dont understand how prof fracasso is such a tough grader while also being a terrible lecturer. Most questions on her quiz are on stuff that she doesnt go over in lecture. Ive done every reading assignments and still dont know where she is getting these questions from. Some of them are just worded really badly
Great teacher who cares about her students.
Awesome. Definitely taking again next semester.
She isnt necessarily a bad Professor, the class was fairly smooth. Knocks off your lowest Quiz grade. However, I miss class due to illness, told me it wasnt an excused absence per Towson Makeup Policy (it was excused). She gives you 20 mins to answer a 21 question quiz . Also inputs final grade the LAST POSSIBLE day they are due for teachers.
She is a GREAT professor. Shes passionate about the subject and makes sure the class understands. Shes engages the class and answers questions. I would recommend.
This was the worst professor I have ever had a Towson. Our textbook is four years outdated so the information I learned in her class did not match up with some similar information in my other classes. She frequently added in random assignments. Not organized whatsoever and the lectures were all over the place. Generally isn't a very nice person.
Great teacher. 3 tests, 2 papers. Organized, nice and willing to work with you if you need help. Would def take again.
If you ever need to email her or her TA dont. They are both horrible at responding to emails. In addition, she is extremely rude and insensitive. One of the worst professors I have ever had at Towson and I truly don't know how she still has a job
the course is not hard if you read the book and listen to the lectures. the problem is her. the textbook is outdated, which is one thing on its own and she did not say this until it was brought up in class. she adds grades in and does not explain where they fit in with our grades. the communication with her and TA is not good either.
I honestly have never had a worse experience with a professor at Towson before. She is a very hard grader, added on random assignments in the middle of the semester and just does not care about her students at all. She was very rude whenever anyone asked questions and does not answer her emails ever. Definitely do not recommend if you want to pass.
She is a great professor. She really likes to teach and tries to make sure everyone understands even though it was difficult over zoom. She knows a lot and makes you do the work.
Great teacher.
Not an easy A, but if you read and come to class you earn it! Loved her.
She's great. Definitely would take again.
Dr. Fracasso was probably my favorite professor this semester. She made an effort to know every students name and was so easy to talk to, not to mention she's so funny. Attendance is mandatory but she gives out free mental health days to take. You will easily pass if you show up to class and do the quizzes.
-sounds easy but the questions were sometimes long and you barely had enough time to finish. I wish we had tests in person because we would at least have more than a minute per question to answer.
Only take this class if there's literally no other psych electives left. She is a tough grader and cares less about learning and spends more time surveillancing for cheating. It is way too annoying for a psych elective, save yourself the time and gpa and take another class. It is content heavy, tests, are too difficult, and grades harshly.
PSYC403 with Dr. Fracasso was a great experience! You can learn so much about infant&child development due to her lectures being in-depth. She provides good slides, clear rubrics for assignments, and is a tough grader. But overall, she's very skilled and experienced. I would recommend this course to all Psyc majors and child specialists.
She's a very tough grader and wants her assignments a certain way. She cares more about figuring out if students are cheating more then having us learn the actual material. She ended up switching the syllabus half way through the semester and gave us a test that we barely had anytime to prepare for. I do not recommend this professor.
Don't even waste your time. Papers, tests, it doesn't matter, every little thing you do is either wrong or considered cheating. It's one thing when students waste their money, but to dread showing up to class every single day speaks volumes for a professor. If you enjoy grade school policies, and a dent in your GPA sign up for this class.
Taking orgo again would've been easier to pass then this lady. Switched the syllabus halfway into a semester gave us 1 week to prepare for an exam. Purposely uses scare tactics, reads off a powerpoint the entire lecture, does not provide a rubric for papers then when asked about the point scale her AND the TA dont know. WORST TEACHER IN 4 YEARS
truly terrible. started off having us take weekly quizzes in place of exams. when she found ppl cheating on the quizzes she replaced them with exams and had a pop TEST. treats and talks to students like elementary schoolers, is very condescending, will cut you off when you raise your hand and try to share and is just overall lacking in all areas.
Good at teaching; always giving examples+making it interesting. Tough grader with no rubrics and not super clear instructions. Changed our class halfway thru from online quizzes to in person EXAMS due to people cheating. Punishes the whole class for a few people's mistakes. Offers a lot of extra credit though. Do the work+read+study and ur fine.
Do Not I Mean Do not take this professor unless u have no other choice left. Was Very good at the beginning but is way to concerned about people cheating and if you are caught your entire class will suffer the horrific semester possible. She grades as if your writing a doctorate please do not take we learned the hard way.
Think twice before taking this professor! She changed the syllabus in the middle of the semester because she "caught people cheating". She punished a whole class of over 60 people because around 10 people "never opened the PowerPoints." She was very condescending throughout every lecture and has a TA that's the same. Dreaded this class every week.
The worst teacher I've ever had in all 4 years of being at Towson. She accused people of cheating with no solid evidence(I was not one of them). Then changed the whole class structure in the middle of semester as a punishment like we weren't adults and trying to graduate. No clear rubric or grading process, just overall the worst class experience.
I had a challenging semester with this instructor. Had issues with grading, as it often took a while for papers and exams to be returned. The syllabus was changed mid-semester without clear communication about the updates. The lack of guidance, especially regarding the final exam, made the experience even more difficult. AndThere was no study guide
I thought she was a good teacher. Cares about students and very passionate about the subject. Take this class if you want to learn about infants and children!
She's very knowledgeable and makes the class entertaining but you have to work for your grade. Gives extra credit for attendance.
Great teacher
She is one of the best professors I have had! I love her lecture style and she makes it more interesting than just reading off the PowerPoint. Study for tests. 100% would recommend her.
Good teacher. Good lectures and lots of extra credit.
Great teacher. Very dynamic and enthusiastic about the course.
The professor is engaging and makes an effort to connect with students. Attendance is mandatory, but the grading is fair if you stay on top of the material. Unstuck ai proved a helpful study tool alongside the course textbook.
Her class is challenging but as long as you come to class and read the text you will do fine. She is willing to help outside of class and has a good sense of humor. She wants thorough work and has high standards.
Great professor. Would take again.
Nice lady.
She's very passionate about what she teaches. Cares about her students and wants them to be successful.
