Incredibly bad. Avoid at all costs. She treats college students like kinder-kids. You sit in circles with name plates on yours desk. She flicks the lights off and on for attention. She spells the word sex isntead of saying it. She doesn't discuss the material at all.

This teacher is very unorganized, plays favortism, and is very unclear in what she wants from her papers. I don't understand why SAC hires these unprofessional, biased, and peculiar people. Your wasting your money at SAC!!!!!!!

she grades very hard, i turned in my sisters A essay for one paper and got an F on it. my sister went to a&m and that is where she got the A. and i turned it in there for an F. very hard online class, the only way i made a C was from the extra credit.

Takes a long time to respond or return grades. Have to navigate a disorganized web site if you want a passing grade. She has a history of subpar teaching with many withdrawls and a high failure rate. If you have no choice but to take her, change schools. It's not worth it to deal with SAC or her.

Ms.Garcia is a sarcastic and unapproachable teacher. If you ask her for help, she will remind you that you should have paid attention in your previous English classes. There is a plethora of reading material in this class and She bases her lectures on a book from Ong.

Sweet Lady, some what humorist not all all times but a meanny. She makes you study stuff that won't be on the test. Grant it that she helps you when you have a question on something but, if you are part of the "Challenging" program,(the slow program) its like she is throwing you to the dogs, no help at all. She teaches on the highlearning level

I got an A @ UTSA for Fresh. Comp 1 & I almost failed this class. Besides the tests & instructions being very unclear, it is like pulling teeth to get feedback & graded work back from her. I had to go to the Chair of the Eng. dept. twice about her! Her syllabus has links going every which way & it's very confusing to figure out all requirements!

I went into this class thinking that I was actually going to learn about literature...instead I ended up learning about her life and horrible GPA of a 1.66 She is completely disorganized, does not know how to address a class on a topic, nor does she grasp teh concept of teaching. Taking this professor will only lead to failure.

Very disorganized & didn't give any grades out until after the drop date passed (convenient for her). Ms. Garcia is nice but VERY difficult. However, if you do the "Reality Checks" and the online quizzes, you will do well on her tests. Her directions for what she desires for her essays are extremely unclear. NOT THE CLASS FOR SOMEONE WITH A BUSY SCHEDULE!!!!! If you communicate with her and knows you are trying she will help you.

Spoke w/ English Dept Dean 3 times about Ms.Garcia.Dean sided with her when fought my C grade.Took 2 months to get back 1st essay-she waited until too late to drop.Never received #2 or Final essay back graded.She said I had 98 bonus points(B overall)then changed to 58 when complained to Dean.Unclear!Worst teacher EVER!Left SAC due to her & Dean!

Online: Worst professor imaginable. Good instructions on website, but her grading method makes me angry. It is almost as if you have to be a highly professional writer to even come CLOSE to an "A". E.G. i did everything possible on one essay and received a 69. Do not take her if you want an A because i recieved a B-!!!

Mrs. Garcia means well and is a nice person. That being said she is not easy to understand, and expects students to be on her level of thinking. The work load is ridiculous. I don't know anyone in my class who is enjoying the class. Im pretty sure they all feel the same way I do. If you take her good luck.

I took her online, she's horrible. Takes her 10 days minimum to respond to an e-mail of yours on blackboard. She never gave me feedback. I took her during summer and it was like she went on vacation the whole month! Her "practice test" are like 100 questions long with no time limit (thank god) because they take about 3 hours to do!!!

This teacher is HORRIBLE. It took her close to a month to respond to my emails. She's a VERY tough grader ans she's big on MLA. DO NOT TAKE A FLEX CLASS UNLESS THAT'S THE ONLY CLASS YOU'RE TAKING. Because you will fail this class horribly. This class is not a blow off class and you need to have extremely experienced writing skills to excel.

She was not helpful at all. I took this class hoping to read something interesting. She does not keep to the schedule very well and does not detail instructions for assignments. The tests and pretests do not go with the readings at all and the one book you have to read for the course is very repetitive and boring. It was a horrible experience.

Shes terrible, dont take her, she uses Blackboatd alot, wich is all a mess, she is demanding, dry humor, childish, boring. she always says, "for every hour, you have to spend 3 hours outside of class working on homework...." terrible!!

AWFUL! is really nice, but we never went over any of the stories in class. and she would randomly be like oh test over chinese literture on friday in slac lab and we were like..uhh when was that assigned? This was a waste of time. I took her class in Summer 2011 Flex II. Her blackboard page was very confusing with too many hyperlinks going from the school page to her own website. I tried to avoid this like the plague but SAC swapped teachers on me at the last minute so I had to endure this again!! Stay away from it!

Do not take her class. She was never prepared, and our class was always behind. She never had our papers graded or gave back considerable feedback. All of her assignments were online,which made her class pointless to attend in person. Her assignments were difficult to find online and the directions were super confusing.

All you do is read read read read! I am about to take test 3 that covers all of the quizzes and test worth 100 pts which cover 22 exams. It's a 90 minute test 65 questions worth 230 pts! I will have to retake this class again!

I hate this class I'm still taking it for spring 2014. I signed up for a face to face class not online. All work is online which I hate. She does not help you in class in fact she talks about random things and about her life with family like I care. Do anything you can to get another professor. You will regret taking this class

The tests cover all her opinionated quiz questions. She grades essays so harshly that I had 2 English majors write my paper and it STILL FAILED. This woman is horrible.

one of the worst teachers ive ever had, both midterm and final essay along with other essay topics were given less than a week before it was due, she also doesn't respond to the many email I sent about the topics given so late. I have never failed a class before until now.

I'm taking classes at SAC for the summer, my home campus is UT Austin. This class has been the worst decision I have ever made. I'm taking the class online, so I haven't met her, but I assume she is a bitter, old woman. She gives the worst feedback I have ever read. "Don't restate ideas from the introduction in the body paragraphs." Uhm .. what?

Considering English is usually my best subject you would think I'd have a good grade in here but nope I'm on the verge of failing because this professor is ridiculous! There is no book for this class, the majority of the reading you do is through links that she sends you, which seldom work (you try to open them, and it says you don't have access, and will remain that way for hours). She does not respond to emails, and is the harshest grader I've ever encountered. Find yourself another class and save yourself .

Horrible. Absolutely do not recommend taking this teacher. So much busy work. Just busy work. No real learning. I'm a straight-A student with a 4.0 GPA and I had a failing grade by the second week of class.

Never again will I take a class without looking at rmp. Avoid this class like the plague, worst professor ever. If you have to take it, you can find most of the quizzes on Quizlet, but other than that you're screwed. If you're good at writing you'll probably get a C, if you're not, you'll fail, fail hard. She is very nice, but very hard as well. I failed both papers which I had help from the writing lab more than once! I should have went to the dean when I had the chance.

TERRIBLE CLASS. The course instructions are not clear and they are many links and over nine pages per assignment to read. You have to sign in everyday or you will miss an assignment, the reading material does not match the English material, and I have always made A's and B's, however this course is going to ruin my GPA.

Garcia is not at all helpful with any assignments. She presents the class with a wall of text of coursework and edits it throughout the course, causing you to easily miss deadlines if you don't check on a daily basis. Takes forever to provide feedback on any assignments. Quizzes/tests are confusing and contradict each other.

This teacher responds to email very slowly. There are so many tests and busy work in this course. She does not return grades so you do not know where you stand until the last week of class.

This class was listed as a Composition class, but we did more with literature than anything. We had essays for quiz grades that were due Aug. 30 and Sep 17 that still have yet to be graded, so we had no feedback for the first major essay worth 30%. That essay was due Oct. 1 and we only received grades for it 2 days before the final. Do not take.

Save yourself and DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR'S CLASS. I've always been really good at English/writing papers. I even wrote a paper for my sister (she attends UTSA) and got her an 'A'. However this professor feels my writing deserves a 'D'! She also assigns so many quizzes & reading homework, its ridiculous!

She expects you to master everything and I took a 5 week course. I don't know anyone who mastered anything in around a month. Just don't take the class unless you want to pay to be left confused.

So I took the flex English 1 with her as an online course, so I'm not sure if it would have been any better as a whole semester in person, but it was hell. We got about 9 assignments a week. She failed me on an essay for not following the prompt (I did but whatever) I didn't even bother showing up to the midterm and just dropped the class.

Awful, Awful, Awful! Got an A in her Comp 1 class, took her again for Comp 2. All was well until I questioned her about a grade and then it was downhill from there. She became very trivial and self-righteous, giving undeserving D's on all my papers like she had something to prove. Still got a B, because I aced everything that was graded by ACES.

this professor is a very tough grader, also does not grade things on a timely manner, so you won't actually know your grade in the course till the last days of the semester, also she is all over the place with directions it is so hard and confusing understanding what she is wanting, and never gets back to you if you email her. This instructor is the worst teacher I have met so far. In my view, she is not qualify instructor for the subject. I have no idea who chose her as the instructor in the Dept. of English. AVOID. Took her class, got a C first essay. I have never gotten below an 85 on a paper before (took AP English in HS). She spends an hour going over whats on her printouts each day. DOESN'T TEACH ANYTHING. I am LUCKY I took college English in hs so I knew what I was doing. She wrote on my essay that it was the ONLY A she gave out that whole TERM.

She doesn't teach the basics even though its an intro course. I had good teachers in high school so I knew what to do, but others floundered and were totally lost. She doesn't enter in the first essay (which majorly impacts your grade) until AFTER the drop date. SLOW grader. You wont even know how bad you failed until the last day. DO NOT TAKE HER.

I took the online and she is not qualified to teach virtually. She makes you read the Master Calendar which is a puzzle; opens so many windows just to complete one assignment. The Quizzes are awful and the answers do not always come from homework she assigns. Slow grader and takes forever to respond. I would not recommend and basically invisible.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. for your own sake. Even the head of the english department has acknowledged that she has had grievances filed against her for years. This course is impossible to navigate. You will spend double or triple the amount of time on this class than any other. Beyond slow at grading. Nothing is taught during class. Drop this class.

Ms. Garcia's class was the most difficult class I have taken at community college. I expected to do a lot of reading entering a literature based class, however it seemed that the readings where everywhere all semester. The quizzes and tests are difficult if you don't read the material at least three times. It is a very time consuming and tedious.

Ms. Garcia knows her content well; however, she seems to espouse to a one size fits all teaching methodology which leaves the non-traditional student struggling. If you are an older student, consider another instructor. Some of the quizzes, i.e. Blooms Taxonomy are not relevant to the subject matter unless you are an education major.

Do not take Ms. Garcia. Lack of basic communication, horrifically unorganized, and standards that are impossible to achieve are only a few reasons to avoid this prof. She regularly uploads assignments on Wed/Th and expects them to be in by Sun. She seemingly relishes in student failures. I will be lodging a formal complaint with the head of English

Worst online class experience I have ever had! For a strictly online class she counts attendance and anything less than a 70% is considered an absence and will be counted against you. self evaluation quizzes but if she disagrees with how you self evaluated you get a lower grade. Course organization is completely gone regarding how to use the module

Without a doubt the worst professor I've had. She doesn't answer her emails and if she does it's way after you need a response. The coursework is very difficult to navigate and even understand at times and she really doesn't offer help. I would not suggest taking this class.I thought I was doing well all semester, but she's a very harsh grader.

Thinking with these pandemic stuff going on well have a had bit leniency yeah ABSOLUTELY NOT! I'm talking lots of homework, papers and she's so indirect. she'll give you an assignment on a Wens and expect in by Sunday and its no little assignment you're talking about 25% of your grade. worlds harsh grade and very inconsiderate.

This professor was the worst professor I have ever had in my collegiate career. In class she doesn't say what notes to take down specifically, she rambles on about nonsense and then assigns homework as if you know what to do. She gives you feedback on your essays absurdly late, she gives you feedback on essay 1 as essay 2 is due so its useless.

WARNING! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS OR ANY CLASS SHE TEACHES! All the negative reviews on here are true, please listen to them. Her grading is ridiculous. You can put in all the work and effort and still get a C on your essays. Her feedback is worthless because she doesn't give feedback and grades until a MONTH later. Most frustrating class I've ever taken. Registered in RMP under 3 names, so check for them. Very difficult to figure out what she's thinking. Needlessly consumes LOTS of time. Will avoid any of her classes in the future without exception! Almost impossible to juggle this class with any other and work too. Would not recommend!!!

STAY FAR AWAY if you are looking for a professor who will nit-pick every detail even if she directly gives it to you then I recommend her. I only gave a 1 star rating because she at least will give you a long list of what you are doing wrong to correct then correct over again. The worst experience with a English class semester will be miserable!!

Professor Garcia is an awful teacher and I would not recommend that you take her class. She makes you refer to the Master Calendar which is like trying to solve a puzzle. Then, when you ask her questions she takes forever to respond. If this is your first semester in college take I highly recommend you take this class with a different professor.

Took her my first sem. Now I'm 2 yrs into a bio B.S. (4.0 GPA) and can safely say she has been my hardest class. I have never made below a B on any papers in my entire educational career and she gave me a C- on one of the two essays we had for her class (40 percent grade). Had head of english dept at sac ENG1301 and got As every paper. Just don't.

In the first week she said that it would be a hard course/not an easy-A class. I felt like she made the class difficult because of the long and *pointless* readings that overall don't contribute to improving your writing skills if you need practice. If you're a good writer she will give you a C first, then a B, then an A. Don't waste your time.
