Professor Hernandez taught me so much about Spanish. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed her class. You have to be willing to work, but shes more than fair. What a fantastic professor. OBVIOUSLY she has an accent guys, she teaches Spanish and plenty of Spanish 2 professors don't even speak Spanish in the classroom at all. If you put effort into your work, you'll get an A. If you failed, it's because you did absolutely nothing and that's your fault.

This was an awesome class. This Spanish Cinema class fulfills the writing requirements that you need to graduate from Kingsborough. The class is in English and the movies and discussions are amazing. This is not a spanish class. It is an intensive writing course. If you need a easy intensive writing credit this class is a must. Not hard at all. She is a great teacher. If you have issues she is easy to speak to and shell try to help you in any way. All she asks you to participate. Book you need is cheap. Movies are different but interesting.

Hermandez teaches by the book and videos. Participate in her class and make sure do the home works and keep up, that right there is your entire grade except for the exams. Easy professor to get an A/A- as long as you do the homework and show you care by participating and attending class. She is a bit disorganized and doesnt clearly understand when some questions ask her questions. But she is a fair grader.

This Professor is very organized, care about her students... gives handouts to help you accomplish your goal in Spanish. Gives homework from the test book and goes over the lesson to make sure you understand. We practice speaking Spanish in groups to improve our skills. I would take her again.

I recommend Dr Hernandez . She is very organized and follows the syllabus. She explains in details what needs to be done to pass this class, the rest is up to you to study. She is the best language professor in the school, she cares about her students and she gives great lectures since the class is more classwork-oriented. Her tests are about average but seem easy to me since she has implemented a style of teaching that helps anyone. If you dont know a word on a test, she will tell you what it means. I recommend.

In the Spanish Cinema Class, you are taking a class that might seem like its Spanish due to its name but its all English. I don't know a single word in Spanish and did great. She is a perfect professor. P.S- class meets writing intensive requirement and is applicable to most other Cuny's or Suny's

Its a shame that there are some students who judge a hard working teacher based on a grade they didnt get. As for the review that was given to her on August 4 which is said that she is awful is definitely not true. If you follow the instruction she gives for the HW youre set to get an A. It was an absolute pleasure being in both Professor Hernandezs SPA 100 and 200 class. She is super understanding and always there when you need help with an assignment . Its very unfair to rate a teacher because you didnt get the grade you wanted and didnt follow her instructions. She is beyond fair with grading and such a wonderful teacher.

Maria Hernandez one of the best professors I ever had. Due to COVID online classes was easy to me, all you need to do assignments, read and write. If you dont understand just ask , professor is really nice and careful. Don't take her if it's your first time learning Spanish. If you know basic Spanish, it's an easy grade. Just do the homework on time and take the tests on time. Everything is solid but the zoom meetings are the worst.

Amazing Professor! She's well organized on Blackboard, has numerous resources to help you learn Spanish, is helpful and available to meet students' concerns. Sometimes she can go fast, but if you point it out she will slow down and help you. She also makes the textbook free, so it's no cost to students and uses videos so the class is never boring.

Took Spanish Cinema this spring, and it was a really good class. ALL THE WORK IS IN ENGLISH. The only thing in Spanish were the movies but they had subtitles. There were a few 1-2 page journals based on the textbook chapters, and 1 big essay based on a theme you choose and use 2 movies to support it. Do the work on time and it's fun.
