Took the fast track class with this professor. I like her teaching style and she was very nice. She doesn't lecture a lot, but she expects you to read the text and do the homework. She's always willing to help if you don't understand the material. She really wanted all of us to succeed in the class. I definitely recommend her.

Ms. Martinez is the best professor that I have evr had. When I have questions she always takes the time to explain them to me. She is what I call a true teacher. The work is a challange but you really learn something. She is also what makes me come to school everyday :)

Took this class over the summer. She's very fast paced but is always willing to spend her personal time with students before test to make sure they understand the material. Doesn't require homework to be turned in, just done. Does a lot of explaining during class if questions are asked. Good teacher.

Great teacher, really clear on the subject, lets you use cheat sheets on exams, and she goes over the homework every class. You will learn alot from her Do good on the homework and on the tests and you will get and A. I would definitley take her again.

One of the best instructors at SWC. Probably would have failed with a lesser instructor. Took 7 week summer class. Moves super fast. Don't take short course if you're not willing to invest the time. HW is done online. Lets you redo problem until right or due. The text is a must. Can Use cheat sheet for tests. Highly recommend this instructor.

The post below is untrue. Martinez is very helpful and it is easy to earn an A in here class but you do need to at least read the ch. assigned. She is willing to help students before or after class and some of her quizzes are open notes. Homework was done online until you get it correct, multiattempts. online quizzes can be open-book as too. A+

She is a great teacher she would always spend a few minutes talking about world events. Teached clearly and would answer all of my questions or would have fellow students answer guestions. The only bad thing is in a 4:15 minute class we would never get out early.

I really really don't like accounting and she made it interesting :) I really liked how she took the time to tell us about world events related to business and accounting and she is very helpful, but wants you to figure out the problems by yourself at first, it is a lot of homework and you will do better if you read the chapters!

I took her for ACCT 101 and have already signed up fir her 102 class. She is one of the most helpful teachers I have ever had at SWC and she really wants her students to learn. BEST TEACHER!!

She is a passionate teacher who makes sure that all of her students understand the material, and she is also quite funny. A lot of studying is required since there are many chapters in the text, but in class participation isn't stressed that much. Exams will test full knowledge of concepts and i strongly recommend any chance of extra credit chances

Prof. Martinez is a very good teacher. I took her Acct 101 class and easily got an A. She lets you have unlimited attempts on the homework assignments without losing any grade. Also on the tests in class you can have a front and back page of notes. Online tests just use the book. There is alot of homework definetly do it.

Great teacher. She is very knowledgable and takes the time to explain step by step how to do the homework problems. She wants you to understand what you are doing and what the questions are asking you. She also has a sense of humor and her class is entertaining. Would recommend to anyone needing Acct. 102.

It?s not a coaster class. You have to study and do all the homework, which can be difficult if you still don?t get it. The chapter does go over everything but the HW problems are much more in-depth. She has lab after class, so you can get help from her and class mates. I struggled but she defiantly a great professor and very knowledgeable.

Professor Martinez is one of my favorite professors at SWC. She is super helpful when you ask her questions and gives lots of extra credit points on tests and hw. This class is an easy A as long as you do all hw and read the book.

A great teacher with a lot of experience in the finance world. She explains the material clearly and uses modern day examples from the business world to get her point across. Read the book and pay attention during all the lectures. She explains everything in the lectures which makes the HW super easy. Study and do the ALL work for an A.

I don't know what people are talking about there not being enough extra credit. There was SO MUCH extra credit I ended up with 123% on my HW and 101% on my pretests. Her class is not easy, but if you work hard, do your homework, and GO TO CLASS, then you will get an A. She's one of the best teachers I've had in college. Take her class!!

Took Prof. Martinez for both ACCT 101 and 102 and received an A in both classes. Her class is challenging but it is not difficult to get an A if you go to class and stay on top of all the work. She gives a lot of extra credit (I never had below 100%). Allows a page of notes for quizzes. Go to class, ask questions, and do the practice tests!

If you show up and do the homework you will pass this class. I failed every quiz and got a 50 on the final and passed with a C.

Really good teacher even though it's a tough class but if you go to after school tutoring it's a huge help. Make sure you do all your HW and Show up everyday, she gives alot of extra credit points.

I already transferred to a top B-School, but its my first time grading Martinez. If you are serious about a good business education take her. You will have to work hard, but this class has helped me so much in my accounting classes @ my university. If you are an underachiever that doesn't give or care about business then don't take her.

This is class is a point system rather than percentage and that makes the class easier to pass. I have two C's on my exam and the rest are B's but extra credit points compensates for the points i lost. My average before taking the finals exam are above 100% due to huge amount of extra credit she gives. This is a good preparation before you transfer

Lots of extra credit, I failed 2 of 3 quizes ( but she always drops the lowest one) and got low grade on final and passed with a B because of all the Homework and extra credit.

extremely difficult tests, i failed all of them but got a B in the class due to copious amounts of extra credit and homework. do not miss a single lecture. i'm at SDSU now and her class was excellent preparation. the material is difficult but she's probably the best accounting professor.

She is the best professor for everyone. Class time is spent very well doing problems on the board. Although the course material is difficult, she won't make you feel lost. Go to her office hours. She has a big room all to herself and lots of computers for homework help. Even some people from the university (like me), come back for help from her.

Professor Martinez is one of yhe best professors I've worked with. She makes class fun with some jokes and makes great practice problems. She goes over all the content that will be in the exam so don't expect to see something that you have not seen before. Having lab after lecture is just amazing as you can finish up homework and have her feedback.

Maria is a well respected and caring professor. Not only does she care for her students, Maria takes time out to help you understand the work and provides additional resources. She is not hard, as long as you attend class and ask questions ahead of time. She is willing to help in every way!

Excellent professor. Helped me understand the basics of accounting when I knew nothing about it, though the homework does tend to get harder (but that happens in every class). Very friendly and easy to approach. Would highly recommend.

She is a genuinely talented instructor. Took her for 101 and 102... She is one of the best! You will need to master vocabulary for each chapter, stay ahead of reading, and HW. Ask for help, she will get you there by helping and referring you to classmates who are mastering material. I helped many students pass. Find A students to help you thru lab.

I graduated from SDSU and i am now an accountant. I took this class at SWC before transferring. YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW EVERYTHING IN THIS CLASS TO SUCCEED IN LIFE. Everything you learn is being used all the time at every job occupation. Every job almost required knowledge in these courses 101 and 102. :)

Be prepared to do a lot of work! But if you do all the homework, you will be fine. She gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it. Everything will help at the end of semester. Her lecture is fun but you need to read before hand to understand well. Overall she was a great professor and cared a lot about the students.

It's an easy to follow class and the text is easy to follow. She lets you use hand written notes on on quizzes and the workload is a lot. She is really lenient. It's easy to put the class on the back burner because the workload isn't that high which could be bad thing because you then fall behind but that's a personal problem.

She's great! Offers a lot of extra credit, which is earned by submitting hw assignments on time. The course material could get difficult, be sure to read from the textbook. All homework is online, along with one of three quizzes. She allows one page of notes for quizzes. Class can definitely get boring with the material, but she is humorous.

Amazing teacher that will do a great job of walking you through everyone you learn in the book to make sure you know the material. Participation will help your grade and showing up really helps. There is an average amount of homework but you receive tons of extra credit for doing it. Quizzes can be difficult but doing all work helps a ton. AWESOME.

Professor Martinez is a great accounting professor! During class, she will go through examples of problems that will be on the HW. She knows how to teach accounting in a way that makes it interesting. I highly recommend taking her if you are a business major. As long as you do the work, you'll get a good grade. Be "present in body and in spirit" for this class! Absences will cost you points, but come prepared or the info may be overwhelming. Lectures include engaging Q&A and sample problems you'll see on exams. Take advantage of tutoring, lab, and any extra credit you'll probably need; don't fall behind. So much extra credit that its impossible to fail. I passed with a 110% even though I failed my final (68/100). A lot of people use chegg study (15$ a month) to pass the class. The course itself is EASY. If youre not gonna use chegg. Make sure you read the chapters beforehand. Easy class, a lot of extra credit, and a easy profesor. You cant FAIL!

If there is another chance to take another subject aside from accounting classes, I would love to take her again. Just do your homework, even extra credit assignments, to earn an A in her class. Don't also forget to participate on the board; she will help you anyway if you don't get it. I love her sense of humor and enthusiasm as she she teaches.

She has been a great professor for me over the last 2 semester for both Acct 101 and 102. Her lectures are super clear and she gives extra credit on everything. Its very difficult to fail her class as long as you keep up with the assignments. The hw and adaptive can be kinda overwhelming at first but you can get the hang of it.

Mrs. Martinez is one of the most caring professors at Southwestern. She understands the current and adapted. It was her first semester teaching online and beside some tech things, youd think shes been teaching online for a while. I urge you to attend her live lectures and participate. This semester was tough, but I got through with her teaching!

Best accounting professor I've taken. Although the homework can be overwhelming at first, after a few weeks you get used to it. Her test are heavily based on examples reviewed in class. I really wished I would've taken her fro accounting 101.

Great professor, really cares about students and caters to their needs especially in these times. Zoom classes are not mandatory. Tutors are available. Lots of homework and practice but easy tests. Slack off in a few assignments and you won't pass, happened to me. Very easy class to follow, but easy to fall behind in too. Recommended overall!

Professor Martinez is a very decent professor to say the least. Her many points of extra credit make it easy to pass the class with an A. I was late on a few assignments but managed to pass thanks to her extra credit assignments. Take advantage of that. Overall she actually tries to help her students and puts out many references. Professor Martinez is one of the most caring professors you will find. The course consisted of a lecture video, adaptive practice, and the HW. The lecture video and adaptive practice were not bad, however, while the HW was hard at times, she provides video links and tutoring services to help you out. Overall, I recommenced taking her course!

She is AMAZING! Her teaching style is so helpful and really allows young learn the material in the most optimal way. She presents the class so well organized that just being able to find information within canvas will ensure you an A. On top of that she allows you to really look at real world examples of where her class and business can take you.

Great professor She do her classes on videos also translated to spanish which helped me a lot, not many professors do that for their students. She gives a lot extra credit and the class is very interesting with her because She shows how can applicate the learned in real life.

Never attended the online lectures, but she makes them available. Took this course in the summer. Definitely one of the harder courses. Math and vocabulary heavy. Recommend taking notes, as I should've done this.

Professor Martinez class was not so bad, you do a quiz every Thursday that's due Friday. Homework due every Tuesday and adaptive reading ( answer questions about the chapter) due every Wednesday's. She gives out video lectures every week. Sometimes there are days where you do discussions. You have time to submit things. No exams, only the final.

Professor Sanabria was amazing! She cares for her students both in and out of class, either by making them involved or keeping them updated with all things on campus. The content for ACCT102 is difficult but she makes all her assignments doable if you plan accordingly. Great professor!

Great teacher, very responsive, and would send out reminders of assignment due dates. Quizzes were timed, but time allotted was enough to complete with out feeling pleasured. She also allows you to drop a quiz, which could be either your lowest score, or you can skip a quiz.
