horrible, rude, and extremely grumpy!!!

Nothing new from me - she was a total hag and I didn't learn anything other than exactly how self-worshiping another human is possible of acting. She picked favorites amoung the students and wouldn't allow a kid to turn in her paper b/c it wasn't stapled. That person didn't get credit for the paper and had to drop over a STAPLE. Seriously.

I extremely regret taking this course!The teacher is horrible at communicating with her students,& does not fully explain what she expects with each assignments.After grading, she does not explain what you did wrong, so it makes it very difficult to fix your mistakes.I pray they hire another teacher to teach this class,so i can on day retake it

I would avoid taking any classes from this so called "dr. moya." I took her online class and she was of no help. She was not specific with what she expected from the assignments and would give out low grades. The overall class average was below 50%.

if you dont do things her way you fail the class even if you do the homework and pass the final. she deducts point for spelling( this is not an ENGLISH class( and even when you try to correct your responses with going into word and making sure you did things right she fails you for copying and pasting from word,she is HORRIBLE DON'T TAKE her CLASS.

She is rude, unforgiving, narcissistic and mean to every person in the class. She asks for one thing, then you do it, and she says no I want it the other way now. She actually has the nerve to tell students that "they are not good, don't know what they are doing and shouldn't be taking the class in the first place", VERBATIM. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!

Teaching methods are very strict - She will mark off for anything.Verbally abusive when replying to emails/discussions.Do not take her! Very Hard.

2 WORDS "STAY AWAY", very rude when applying by e-mail.She requires a lot of work for a one credit class. Gave 25 minutes for a 75 question quiz. She expects you to know MHDD 103/mental health inside and out for this short class.She is the worst ever!!!!

She makes her students take a syllabus test of which if you fail you basicaly lose 25 points. She is a modern day Nazi. She does not allow students to cut and paste work into discussion posts, so if your brower crashes you get a zero. She only accepts the first submission you have to move mountains to make up work regardless of the emergency.

Like others have said, STAY AWAY, if another instructor is available. Noticed she mostly teaches? on-line classes. Does not teach at all. Rude when asking her a question. The words that should be used for her are not allowed on this site.

DON'T TAKE! If you're stuck, prepare to do the ridiculous things she wants: disc posts up to 3200 words at 1 sitting (ow, my back!) coz she doesn't allow copy/paste, decipher her exams coz she likes trick ?s & don't argue when she makes insane statements: "600 wds is only half page long." Hint: do her crazy format - that's all she cares about.

As an instructor at the College of Southern Nevada I am taking classes to further my degree. I would NOT recmmend this teacher and would stronglys suggest looking for anyone other than her. She is rude, very unclear on all correspondance her syllabus is absolutely ridiculous. Worst instructor I have ever had!! RUN

RUUUN!!!!!Never take this teacher. I took her because there weren't any other open classes at the time and I knew what I was getting myself into from reading on this site. You will have to type all your work online, she doesn't allow copy/paste for fear of fraud I guess. From at least 25 students that started the class only three of us finished.

The worst professor I've ever had. At the beginning of class she tells you that she doesn't accept excuses, but that's all she had when every test she posted was late, and some were unrealistic. One test was to write 8 paragraphs in 30 minutes. Her "etext" book was never completed (think beta version), was full of errors, typos, and omissions.

My God!!! How did she get under the radar at CSN for so long beats me. CSN should give her the Predictive Index Test and see what's going on with her as a favor to the students. She shouldn't be allowed to teach. The worst teacher I've ever had, not only at CSN.

Really bad teacher. She managed to destroy the little interest that I had in PSY. She's very rude and very disrespectful. Oh yeah, she'll let you know that she has a doctorate. How she managed that beats me. Don't take her if you have the chance.

This lady uses bullet points and bold lettering to emphasize what to do and important parts of her sentences like you are 12. She made us do a syllabus quiz worth 50 points and half the questions were not even on the syllabus. Then he projects are a joke she wants 600 word responces on a 2 minute video when half the video is just music. DONT TAKE!

Dr. Moya is a control freak psychiatrist. She does not care about the class or the students learning. She just wants to be in control. You cannot get an A in her class unless you ace the syllabus quiz. Sound easy? The questions are not even in the syllabus. The syllabus is either worth 50 points or you get -100 on your grade. Do not take her class.

This professor is horrible. She does not explain anything and you basically have to guess when an assignment is due and what the assignment is. She is not a professor that engages the student. I would never ever take any of her classes ever again.

I am a psychology major, so I was excited for this Abnormal Psych course. No matter how interesting the material is, this professor made it unbearable. The formatting rules are insane and useless in any other context besides her own world. Grading is unclear and stacked against students. I would change my major before dealing with this professor

The tests are all true or false, so if you enjoy those types of questions, you'll be fine. It's the projects that really get you. When you hear 'format', you think MLA, APA, whatever. No, she has her own brand of formatting that makes no sense and whenif you get it wrong, she doesn't clarify what you can improve on. I wouldn't take her class again

If you don't want to ruin your transcript with a bad grade, do not take this teacher. If you score somewhat low on one thing you'll have an F on you transcript due to her "home made" grading scale. Chose a different teacher, steer clear !

She don't know how to talk to people, she needs peoples skills. Get ready to write a lot for little points, what I mean is, you will have 3 questions 1 question will need to have a 600 word, question 2 need to be 800 word answer and the 3rd need to be 600 words, the points 75pts. Run! do not take her class, I will never take her class again.

Her class is ridiculous. Hard grader. She assigns projects that are based on watching hour long interviews. You write your papers in her own format, not like a regular paper. It is a hard class. I took it because it sounded fun. It is worse than my biology courses. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!

Do not even bother emailing her to contest her ambiguous exam questions, lack of a rubrics, unclear instructions, or cryptic project grading because she will reply at the chance to be rude rather than helpful. Abysmal. Only 3 days into the semester and I'm already going to drop her. Not only is she uncommunicative she is also downright rude. I dare say either English is not her first language or she is an unadulterated dolt. Simple questions seemed to confound her so much that non-nonsensical, aggressive replies were her answer. Avoid

Maria is very RUDE, inconsiderate of others, discouraging, huge ego, unhappy in real life and it seemed to show in her work with me as a student. The situation got very petty between us and I paid out of pocket for this class that was not toward my degree, learned a good life lesson, a title before a name means zero if the heart isn't in the job!

Dr. Moya was the worst professor I've ever taken. She is rude, disrespectful and condescending in her communication with students. Papers should be written on a college level, however she wants them written to make it easier for her to grade. The class was designed to cover careers in psych, however we came out with no new knowledge.

Rude and abrupt. She treats her students like children. Scolds people for asking questions, resulting in them not asking her questions because they don't want to deal with her wrath. The "formatting" that she requires for all the projects is ridiculous. Even if your project content is great, you will get a "C" or lower if you don't format properly.

Her exam questions, every single one is true/false and the answers are unclear. You could have all of the textbook information- yet be unable to answer the questions. The answers are left up to interpretation and use vocabulary not in the book. This class is harder than any other class I've taken. ITS PSYCHOLOGY. Don't get me started on her essays.

Dr. Moya's PSY101 class should not be this hard. for the first paper, it was a 2400 word assignment. she also wants this weird formatting that is only used for her. does not post assignments, grades, or information in a timely manner. hardest 101 class I've ever had. 7 exams plus optional extra credit exam and 2 papers for semester.

This professor lacks professionalism and common courtesy. I was an older student with plenty of life experience but it seems that everyone is a naive child to her. Professor Moya has the most orthodox, what she calls "formatting system" that makes no sense and no one would ever use. More adequate for elementary school children learning their colors

She is beyond rude. She has no drive to really see students succeed. She also goes in and changes grades and if you're not paying attention you will most certainly fail from that alone. I have tried to ask her questions and she talks to you as if you are stupid. She does not need to be teaching if she thinks this will get students to learn anything

Grading and rubric are confusing and arbitrary. Communication is poor in both timeliness and tone. Feedback is also exceptionally poor and unhelpful when/if it comes at all. If you are able to take another teacher I highly recommend doing so.

She requires a format in all her projects that is SO time consuming and has nothing to do with the class. She wants 600-800 word answers to a simple question and requires you to bold, underline, change colors, and only use short phrases. It would take me 2hrs just to write and format one question. None of which has anything to do with the class

Aside from her arbitrary formatting requirements, this professor proved to be largely unhelpful. No feedback was given on any of my assignments and when asked a question, she ignored the question and simply told me that being unable to submit an assignment due to Canvas malfunctions was unacceptable. 10/10 would not take again.

This is one of the most unclear of what she wants, not helpful at all, and ridiculous professors that I have ever taken. All students that take her class should be warned that she is more quick to fail you than to help you pass. DO NOT TAKE HER!!

Honestly not good teacher. She didnt help with anything and it wasnt just read three chapters and take the exam for those chapters. She never gave out assignments before the exam a thats what made it difficult, not a good teacher to take.

This class/ instructor is HORRIBLE! Do NOT take this class!! There is a lot of reading, two hard tests, and a RIDICULOUS assignment that was outrageously TIME consuming- that she fails you for in the end anyway after HOURS and HOURS of work! She is rude, sets you up to fail, and I DO NOT understand how she is still employed! You have been warned!!

She is a horrible teacher in my opinion. Shes very unforgiving and grades very hard. I really like what I'm learning but I am so focused on her INSANE required format to actually learn and retain anything. Her feedback is just basically telling me everything is wrong, I used the wrong color of text and she failed me in that assignment.

She gives extra credit but she is crazy strict with formatting and will tell you that everything you did is wrong. She is unclear and a horrible professor in all. She never responds to emails, especially if you're asking about an assignment. When she does it will be a respond with a snide remark insinuating that you are dumb. Don't take this class!

Syllabus said April 2-5 for exam 3. April 3 I email her, Hi, Dr. Moya! When will Exam 3 be posted? Which she replies nothing else but, Did you look in the module for the dates? Did you look in the syllabus for the dates? Did you look on the calendar for the dates? She had changed the exam date and didnt tell anyone. Unkind+unapproachable

Professor Moya was the worst prof I have ever had. First off, the formatting is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, she makes you bold, underline and color words but, doesn't tell you what words or give any examples Second, so extremely rude. Dr. Moya DEMANDS a very specific format for all papers. If you do not format her way she will not grade. ALL papers had a minimum word count of 800 words. If you email her with a questions she will respond in a very blunt way; no real explanation. Be prepared to write A LOT and still not receive the grade you hoped for. TOUGH GRADER!!!!!!!

DO NOT & I mean if you have any other options, DO NOT take a class from this professor. Her formatting rules are ridiculous and even if you follow most of the criteria if youre off by one thing she give you no credit. And you CAN NOT communicate with her. She will argue with you. lucky for me I can stand up for myself but some people may nor.

I honestly read these comments before I took her class and said "how hard can her class be, I'm a good student" well the answer is VERY HARD. If you take her online your grade is only based on few things so DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. Like other people said her formatting is time consuming! I learned a lot from the book, did well on the exams but her UPSURD formatting requirements with minimal instructions on how to actually meet them, and non-helpful remarks when reached out to, did not make for a good learning experience. Was also the only professor I had that did not release a Course and Instructor Evaluation, weird.

Professor Moya is literally insane, Do not take a class from her. She will not help you with any question you ask, and she will not take any accountability. I contacted her about a grade I got on extra credit and that I had followed the instructions to a T and still got 4/15 she told me she wouldn't be manipulated! What? LOL! she wants you to fail!

This professor is very strict and not helpful even when something is not listed in her syllabus she will just tell you to refer to it. It seems she is very spiteful and possibly just too lazy to actually help students and just puts up the same quizzes she does in all other semesters.

The meaning of a bad teacher is her name, rude, with a huge ego that overpasses her own nose. A person like her should stay away from students. Does not respect students, and plays hard for a 101 basic psychology class. Obviously she had some trauma from her past that made her become an egomaniac with power. Dr. Moya, there is a lot to say. She is an extremely tough grader, honestly, I feel that I only have a fair chance during Exams that are auto-graded. P.s. There are six exams. She once gave me a zero on correct answers because I "didn't demonstrate understanding." Also if you don't do an assignment expect to get a NEGATIVE grade instead of a zero.

She makes actually earning points 100% more difficult than the material itself. I missed one 10 point assignment and she actually gave me negative points for it. She cares more about her long tedious rubric than whether or not you are learning the material. No email etiquette and not helpful at all. Makes this easy class very hard.

She is the definition of pretentious, condescending, and rude. I almost didn't graduate bc of this professor. She thinks she teaches at an Ivy league school. The class is run by 15 min. TedTalks that she wants 1600 words over. The only thing that saved me was the exams and her "gift" (extra credit so nobody off's themselves and she loses her job.)

The teacher doesn't give feedback as to why something is wrong even when asked why the answers were incorrect. Very rude and speaks down to students from the very beginning of the class. As I've seen from others as well, I'm amazed she has a job as a teacher when she has so little care about her students.

Shes an egomaniac. She gives impossible assignments, grades harshly, and talks down to her students. I have gotten As in all of my classes so far, hers is a different story. This professor wastes your time and money. I was personally very excited to take this class as it sounded very interesting but this professors assignments are unnecessary and extremely difficult to understand. More of her assignments pertained to the syllabus than actual course material. If you can avoid this professor I highly recommend doing so.

The instructor could provide more clear instructions, have an organized syllabus, respect students, and overall either get her act together or quit teaching. This is by far the worst class I have ever taken. The professor does not respect her students as individual beings and has high expectations for assignments based on 3-minute videos.

This professor is very particular about formatting for assignments. Guidelines are both unclear and contradictory. The format in which the formatting rules are spelled out does not even follow the rules she gives. The syllabus grading rubric is also not congruent with how this professor grades. Never have I taken a worse class. Too much stress.

I've contacted the psychology department at csn, so they'd do something with this professor, considering she's unresponsive, rude, and has unclear criteria and expectations. I felt like it was unfair she wastes so many students' money and doesn't care to teach anything. I advise everyone to do the same, contact the department! The more the better!

Absolutely terrible, if you can take this class with another professor, do it. You cant write any paragraphs or sentences yet you are expected to write over 2000 words for assignments. Even when you do the work she then grades harshly so you don't get any credit for doing the work.

I took two classes by this professor this semester and im not shocked to see the horrible reviews! All she cares about is the formatted ways to write as if its an english class She doesnt give you any points if you dont do exactly the formatted way. No respect for the work you put and the long videos you watch ! I will not stand quiet about her!

Dr. Moya provides no feedback when given harsh grades. I had to go back and forth via email just for her to give me specific feedback on why she failed my paper. She states that the work in her class needs to be clear and comprehensive but provides nothing but insults when presented with giving feedback. Do not take her class! It's not worth it!

Moya gives little info for the subject. Her lectures consists of outlines or videos. Expects you to pull an insane amount of info from it & "format" it. This takes more time then the actual assign. Ex. 2000 words from 19 min video. Miss an answer on an assign., she won't give you ANY points! The most condescending, rude, useless prof I've EVER had!

Worst professor i've had by a mile. barely assigns anything but when she does it is worth your whole grade, and grades super harshly even if you've done everything right.

This professor requires a strict format that you must follow. If you do not, you do not get good grading on the assignment. Her classes doesn't even focus on the assignment itself. She literally grades on the format you follow and that is it.. The commentary she leaves is rude and unnecessary as well. I've taken her twice, two different semesters.

I should've read the reviews before picking one of her classes. She fixates on her strict formats and that's it. Even if you do all the correct things, she will still knock u off points. One time I contacted her and got nothing but rude responses. Don't worry, its not your fault if you failed. It's hers.

Her assignments constantly duped you, as you would approach the assignment with any other: following the directions without straying unreasonably. She is STRICT and will not allow leniency. Dont even try to email her at all for more clear directions, she will be rude. Do not pick her as your professor if you are not good at formatting. At this point its not my fault i have a low grade, its because of the unclear instructions she provides. The only thing holding my grade is the tests.

This teacher has by far the toughest grading I have ever encountered. I can say with full confidence that I have learned nothing except how she likes homework assignments formatted. Also I have gotten an A on every test but because of how she grades homework I have a C in the class. Pick any other teacher over her.

She's an incredibly rude and unapproachable teacher who cares more about format than teaching the class. There is a syllabus she gives at the beginning of the semester, yet it feels more like a piece of paper because it's all about the rubrics she has for each assignment. She will not give valuable critiques to help you.

Assignments are based on short, vague videos. Responses MUST be in HER format otherwise you will receive no credit despite having accurate content. First two weeks we were tested on 100 terms/concepts. Exam was T/F which some were trick questions. Expectations are unclear. Emails are condescending. I will be avoiding this professor in the future.

Among one of the WORST professors I have had the misfortune of having. Any work submitted will be given zero credit unless it meets her seemingly arbitrary grading standards. Even if the content in your submission is correct, you will still get a 0. Don't do yourself a disservice and get robbed of your time and money by taking this professor.

Yikes. EXTREMELY tough grader, her grading criteria makes absolutely no sense and rather than docks you off a few points for missing a small thing, she fails you entirely. She is by far the rudest person I have ever in counter in life. This person doesn't care if your sick in the hospital nothing matters to her but her rubric and formatting. I strongly suggest holding out on taking her class at whatever cost even if you need to change schools for a semester she is a 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND please brace yourself.

She is so confusing on what is required, had I known about this website prior to signing up I would of never even considered... Be prepared to do a lot of homework and still not pass... Good luck if you are thinking about taking any of her classes, if another option I'd consider another professor.

All she cares about is "FORMATTING". Her grading criteria is ALL OR NOTHING. You can score a ZERO if it doesn't meet her ridiculous standards. If you write minimum words you get a minimum grade. Her communication and explanation skills are terrible. shes very strict with grading and her rubric and guidelines are very unclear when doing assignments, making it very discouraging doing assignments. Marks a big % off assignments for little details missing. Like other reviews, she only cares about formatting. DO NOT TAKE!

You will receive a 0 if your assignments are not "formatted." That means that we cannot write in complete sentences. Moya isn't clear on feedback. I took MHDD 127 Positive Behavior Supports, I didn't learn anything about Positive Behavior Supports, I'm not even sure what exactly I learned from the course. Most assignments were on how to FORMAT.

This professor was clear in the syllabus about grading and formatting. Anything that you have learned about APA or MLA format throw it out the window because it does not follow her instructions for formatting. This professor will write lengthy instructions for assignments that are really vague. Then dock points for not being exactly what she wanted

This is by far the wost class ever. I consider myself a good student who gets good grades. This professor is not helpful at all and loves to argue, then claim that you are arguing with her. I ask simple questions and try my hardest. I have been in contact with her bosses and hopefully will save you guys who take her class. Super unprofessional.

PLEASE READ!! She is by far the WORST professor I have ever had. There are so many other problems I have had with her (unprofessional emails where I was asking a simple question). To me, she feels like dealing with that one toxic ex that you can't seem to get rid of who blames everything on you. I will be in contact with her bosses after this.

All this professor cares about is format. If you are looking to take PSY 101 please don't take this class because you will learn nothing. In fact, anything you learned in english all your life, say goodbye to it because all she cares about is how to format your assignment and "more than 12 words is a paragraph" may seem nice but think again.

These reviews don't lie! She provides a specific format for assignments with unhelpful instructions with very little context. However, when a student follows these guidelines precisely, she will criticizes you with backhand comments and take away 1/2 your grade. I advise against allowing this professor to negatively impact your academic experience.

Don't do it! Her "criteria" was so confusing, even if you try to follow it exactly, she will still find a way to give you a bad grade. Grading is based on how you format your responses. Points are taken off for any small mistake. She will straight up not grade your assignment if it doesn't follow her rubric. Her feedback for assignments is unhelpful and the criteria for assignments is vague at points. DO NOT TAKE

I would never recommend this teacher to anyone taking psychology. First interaction (via email) was awful. Very harsh and got mad that so many people emailed her. Not professional at all and does NOT give great feedback. Will grade assignments without an open mind. Formatting has to be EXACTLY how she wants it or else you'll receive -10+ points.

Professor is very difficult to collaborate with, harsh grader, unrealistic expectations, and rude. I have reached out to this professor regarding an assignment and have been given a very unhelpful response. my experience has been terrible because of this instructor. She is an extremely difficult grader, and emailing her with questions doesn't help. Her instructions are vague and often confusing, making it feel like she doesn't want to teach. She barely teaches during class, relying mostly on textbooks and YouTube videos.

My advice is just don't take her class. I had such a hard time, she is very strict with her grading, she cares more about you sticking 10000% to the format than you learning. Don't recommend. And also professors like that should not be allowed, she was not nice at all.

Professor Moya's class is challenging. She gives unnecessary information and expects you to do it exactly how she wants it. She is very rude when reaching out for help. However, I will get through and will pass this class. But I recommend avoiding her if you can.

I took this class in a hurry due to enrollment issues.The professor was so unprofessional, rude and delusional. She gives so much attitude if you asked a simple question. Dr. M's class is a very difficult one, and she as a teacher is not the best. She does not respond to emails or Canvas messages, If a small mistake is made in a assignment she will give it a zero. I really wish i checked her on RMP before enrolling her class. There's better teachers out there.

Professor Moya grades very harshly regardless of the answers you provide because each detail of her format is of the utmost importance to her. That difference alone could get you an F instead of an A. Her instructions are vague, her feedback does little to help you correct mistakes, and she can add new rules that weren't in her syllabus prior.

I would not recommend to take this course with this teacher specifically. really rude and difficult to work with, if you try to respond to her in a email more than a 5 word sentence she is not going to email you. she doesn't respond to “big” paragraphs. I got a 0 for not putting the QUESTION word for word I will never take this class again.

This class was the most pointless college course I have ever taken. The learning outcomes listed in the syllabus have no correlation to the assignments required for the class. Ridiculous formatting restrictions that are absolutely useless and time consuming. Never have i experienced such blatant disregard for students from a professor.

I'm genuinely surprised she hasn't been reported yet. She will dock points even if you follow instructions CLEALRY and gives unclear feedback. This is only my first week and I already have a 60%. She takes herself way too seriously for a one credit class, and it feels like she's looking for reasons to mark you down. Don't take this class, seriously

Overall, the experience with this professor has been one of the worst I've encountered. The lack of clarity, professionalism, and empathy made it extremely difficult to stay motivated or to trust the process. I would absolutely not recommend this course with her and would never enroll in another class taught by her.

The professor has their own formatting. Due to the formatting it was difficult to do the assignments. I would get points taken off because I missed the point of the videos. I had limited words to use. The lectures are just videos and there are two extra credit during my summer course.

She is very difficult to deal with, and she talks like an old wizard giving the Chosen One a quest. Imagine that, but when you do the quest, you don't do it like SHE wanted, and she blows you up on the spot.

Her strategy is to demand perfection while giving you a ridiculous number of details to trip over. Obsessive attention to formatting detail and writing style while thin on substance and the supposed premise of the curriculum. She's the worst I've seen, and I've had some bad professors. I rarely drop a class, but I'm not sacrificing my GPA for her.

I thought that the comments on here were all exaggerating. But they arent. Dr. Moya is incredibly focused on her formatting and that is all. She deducted me 4 points from my assignment because I put my name on it. Not making this up. It's frustrating because she refuses to use proper punctuation and spelling but demands “perfection”. Dropped.

This professor states that she gives precise instructions on how to complete the homework and then completely does not follow her own instructions provided. She also teaches 2 separate classes, but provides the exact same assignments for both courses and then expects the student to respond differently when the assignments are EXACTLY THE SAME.

The formatting for assignments is definitely interesting, and not in a good way whatsoever. You are not only expected to write as if for a stranger, but in less than 12 words for a bullet point (same as exams). Additionally, she has in the syllabus that she does not care if you pass her class, but only that you understand the material.

People told me not to take her class and I thought to myself “she can't be that bad” I couldn't have been more wrong. She's horrible. her syllabus is so rude it puts you in a bad mood. She doesn't follow her own rubric and is quick to give you a 0 even when you did everything correct. She makes you feel like she hates you if I'm being honest.

She is the worst teacher ever. Argues with you and her formatting is crazy. She is a psychologist and is crazy the irony. Kept wondering if she is using her class to do an experiment in human psyche. One thing she taught me is to check rate my teachers prior to enrolling. BEWARE

You will honestly learn more from the actual textbook than from her. As there is a requirement for 12 words per bullet point (she will not accept more than 12 words per bullet as it is a sentence/paragraph). For your own and everyone around you peace of mind and sanity, do not take this class.
