Hard class, but she makes it easier by posting reviews for exams & practicals. She will take the time to go over stuff if again if you don't understand it and is willing to spend time with you in her office. This class requires ALOT of outside study time.

I enjoyed Professor Serra. She really cared about me on a personal level. She was easy to work with and wanted all the students to succeed. The only thing was her accent. She pronounced some vital medical words inncorrectly. Other than that I loved her!

I sold the book back to the bookstore, and am soooo glad I did. Like evryone else says, she talks very fast but it's okay when you get used to it. It's hard to listen to regular paced teachers now. she is extremely helpful, and clears any doubt students have. i extremely recommend her, don't need text book. all exam questions are from her power points. its easy A, if you concentrate in the class.

if you want to pass the class, study every day from the guide study, read the book but memorize the class notes she post, it is so easy if you pay atention, she actually teach what you need to learn, am taking an advance class now and WOW everything she tought in class is what am practicing now.

At fist, I thought she was going to be hard but as class progressed, she is an easy professor. She gives you all o the material that you need to know. Study the power points for lecture tests and lab practicals. The book isn't really needed, but it can be helpful, same as attendance. She is worth taking! :)

Very good! If you are kind of slow or dont have self discipline then this could be a hard class to pass. It really just comes down to how much time you put in. She is extremely helpful in all areas. Her knowledge about the body is profoundly superior to anyone i have met. I came in wary and have left with a grade of 96 and very happy.

Mrs. Serra is awesome! She does go fast but you're going to get that with any teacher with this course. Take notes from the powerpoint and attend class everyday and you will do good. I had a C at first and ended with an A from working hard and her extra credit! Definitley recommend her, she's pretty funny too!

I really liked Professor Serra! In fact, I am going to take her for A&P 2. Even though the material is heavy, she does give you the right study material and is very efficient with helping you. Guaranteed, if you follow her notes and powerpoints, you will be able to make an A! Good Luck!

Professor Serra is a consumate professional. Her material is organized, yet she will correct it if neccesary. If you are thinking of being mediocre you will do mediocre. Serra is exceptional in the kn owledge of her material. She is also fair and dedicated. Scholars will not getunjustified freebies yet, she will help you with extra credits.

Prof. Serra is a great teacher. It is a hard class and you need to study but she is organized and gives you lots of extra credit opportunities on each test. I wouldn't take it fast tract but if you have to take mircobiology 2420, I would want her as my teacher.

Mrs. Serra is very organized and very helpful. The class itself is hard and you have to do a lot of memorizing, but she makes it easy. She responds to emails and she has extra credit opportunities. Just make sure to read the book, take notes, turn in your work on time and keep up!

She's a good instructor, not that amusing but not very difficult. attendance is not mandatory but if you come to class you wont need to read the book that much besides she has powerpoints she goes over. I'd recommend her. I took her for a&p 1 and 2.

Ms Serra is a very nice lady who is willing to help you if you ask. She grades fair, The tests have a lot of questions but some of them are "bonus" questions that give extra points. She makes the class as easy as possible but it is microbiology and micro is just not an easy subject. This is definitely not a blow off class.

If you are looking for an easy A this is not the teacher/class for you. If you take this class come to class & be prepared to learn, Ms. Serra is not bad, however she does talk and move extremely fast. This is not a bird course, if you take this class you want to make sure you study her power points & know them like the back of your hand.

Great Professor for Micro. Her class is very tough and the concepts are as well. I contributed a lot of study time outside of class. I earned a high B in her class. Loved her!!

She is amazing. She works with you. This is not a difficult subject with complex theories, it is a subject that requires a butt-load of memorization. Just dedicate time to studying and an A is very possible. Also she is a great teacher with a light hearted personality. Would definitely recommend her.

A&P is a hard class no matter who you take. She is a very smart professor and tries to make the material easy. There are 5 exams (1 dropped) and 4 praticles but she offers extra credit for each one. She makes all of her material available online. Do not miss class or you will miss a lot of material.

THis teacher is one of the best Ive had in awhile. If you study her reviews. The papers are easy bc she gives the answers while teaching. She can be a little off at times but very good teacher

Serra makes microbiology fun & understandable. While she reads off the PPT she usually writes everything on the board & explains it. Class is composed of 5 exams(1 drops), quizzes, lab reports, 2 lab practicals, & 1 unknown microorganism lab. Textbook not needed, exams are off PPT & quizzes. Favorite class & teacher ever! U wont regret taking her!

People scared me from taking her for A&P, so i didnt. But i took her for Micro and i have to say, IM SO GLAD THAT I DID! Mrs. Serra is an Amazing and wonderful Professor who wants her students to succeed, but even more so than that shes a kind hearted person. She will work with you! TAKE HER! I took this class over for Maymester and it was intense. I did decide to use the textbook and it helped a lot! Professor Serra is very nice but when being asked a lot of questions by tons of students she will get overwhelmed. I recommend to ask tons of questions and ask after class. I'm glad I took this over the summer but SO glad its's over.

Ms. Serra cares about her students and is a great instructor. This class is definitely not a cake walk but an A is attainable. Use the tools that she provides. The power points and test reviews will help you tremendously. Gram positives and negatives are the bulk of the class, so pay close attention during week 2. Take her, she is great !

She is a good teacher. Sometimes she can rush through things in lecture. Most of lecture is clear as well in lab. BIO2401 requires lots of studying regardless. Make sure you study. She does give extra credit for every Lecture exam and Lab Practical. I would take her again.

I've been so nervous to take micro but decided to take this during the summer with 2 other classes (BIOL 1322 & 2402) and what is expected is very clear, the reviews and quizzes she gives you basically gives you an A for the test if you just studied. She also works with your schedule. 10/10 recommend!!

Took her for the Summer 4 week class, needless to say it was rough. The class is doable but make sure you dedicate the time and effort. Push yourself to memorize the dull material and take advantage of the easier assignments. You truly get out what you put in for this class.

She is one of the greatest professor ever. she gives you more materials so that you understand the topic more clearly. she is an awesome grader. whatever she explains in the whiteboard, be sure that she asks those in subjective or the bonus questions. She tries to explain us to our level best.... I would recommend to take her class.

One of my favorite professors, 10/10 recommend! Print reviews provided for lecture exams, most exam questions come from there and the power points. (she'll repeat important topics) lab reports are easy, make sure to capitalize the bacteria correctly or she will take off points. Oh and lecture exams have extra credit bonus questions!!

MICRO: If you dont need your hand held, an A is doable. She provides ppts, wkshts w/ answers, ppt reviews for exams, and charts. The charts and wkshts incredibly helpful for exam. Memorize charts if you can. Last two exams are 4 chpts, not 2-more difficult. FFT questions-possible bonus on exam, up to 8 possible points bonus on each exam. Fun Lab.

I took the accelerated A&P classes. This class is very hard don't get me wrong, but Prof Serra is awesome. She responds to emails, DOESN'T require a textbook, and provides so many study materials. She's super friendly and lenient when it comes to deadlines. She also provides multiple extra credit opportunities. Excited to be taking her for micro.

Never met a professor Who went so hard to battle to make sure all her students passed. She is the definition of knowledge, class and real genuine care for her every student. Doesnt play favorite but everyone gets treated equally good. You will love her !

Amazing Pro. You use an access code for McGraw-Hill and the website is super helpful on knowing the systems of the body. You have the lecture and practical quizzes, 2 chances to take them, pretty fair! She emails pretty quick, drops your lowest Lecture test and replaces the online final lab exam with your lowest lab. You really need to study!

Professor Serra is a great professor. The class schedule is straight to the point and she provides all the material that you need to pass the class/exams. I got a low grade due to the fact that I did not study in enough time for the exams, so that was on me! You can really tell she wants her students to pass. Will be taking her for Biol 2402!

This is a very hard class and course, and there was alot of homework. You have to make sure you put time aside to study and watch and review the lectures. She splits the class with another professor. The lab lectures were horrible, but if you show up to the main lecture with Professor Serra, you should be able to pass, you will work for it though.

I took this class over the summer, out of all my classes, this one has been the most difficult one, unsure if is because it was online. There was a lot of material to cover In a short period of time. For A&P 1 (online - 5 weeks), I found Professor Serra to be interesting, knowledgeable, organized, caring, and responsive. Attending lecture sessions and watching lecture recordings are critical for learning/reviewing, as is spending time memorizing content in provided PowerPoints. Labs are pretty straight forward if you do the same.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Use objectives to keep up with her during lectures, BIG help to study for the lecture exams! Lab exams are never multiple choice, just pay attention during lab and you'll be fine. She is very kind and funny, highly recommend.

Advice I would give is: there is a lot of info to learn, but all you have to do is review every day and before class. If I can get an A so can you. Had LOTS of BONUS opportunities. Biology 2420 is not hard but it is a ton of information and concepts to wrap your mind around. Lecture tests are hard but just study and you will be fine. Using her objectives helped a ton and she is the best in lab. I would definitely recommend her.

One of my fave professors! She goes crazy fast in lectures so come prepared every day at least having skimmed the textbook/slides/watched lecture videos. Tons of EC, got over 1000 points in ANP 1. USE HER OBJECTIVES DURING LECTURE for any course with her, she typically hits all objectives (not in order though), this helped me stay engaged.

Prof. Maria is a teacher who knows how to make the students learn. Be prepared to read all of her PowerPoints as she tests heavily. She is very prompt in replying to your emails and very approachable. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities, so don't miss them. Overall she is amazing!

I took Professor Serra's Microbiology in person at NorthLake this last Spring semester. She is very knowledgeable not only in microbiology but also in A&P, and wants you to learn. The class is heavy, you need to put in effort, but it prepares you for your journey ahead if you are into nursing, as myself. Lots of extra credit. I've learnt so much!

The course is tough though but remember there will be extra points in each task which will be contributing in your back up grades.
