She is an excellent teacher. Gives a review before the test, and goes over it step by step. Tests are exactly the same like the review, but different #'s. She's really cool, and her class goes by really fast. The best math teacher I've had!

Ms. Torres is a very smart and helpful instructor. She understands the students ability and is willing o work with them if they work with her methods of teaching. Overall, Ms. Torres is a great teacher.

Great teacher to have, and she is funny. Helps you out if you just ask. She makes it as easy as possible for you to understand. She does a review before taking a test and doing the math homework helps out as well, considering she uses some math homework questions on the tests and quizzes.

She is a very kind and a good instructor. She is very helpful and clear. If you are not very good at math, you can pass her class if you work for it. That goes to tell you that although she is a good teacher, she is not as easy as most would like.

Ms. Torres is pretty cool. Although she assigns chapters of homework every week. so if you dont have time to do homework, dont take her. but her class is pretty easy, like i said as long as you do the homework, and decent grades on test. you'll be ok.

Grade school, Jr High & High school FAILED math. Math 20 course taken twice @ cerritos colleg FAILED. UNTIL Ms. Torres was recommended to me, Math for the 1st time ever was fun and actually made sense to me! mrs. torres was amazing! shes a great proffesor if your not very strong at math. shes cool and laid back. do what you have to do and you'll pass. HIGHLY RECOMEND.

She gives u all the notes u will ever need and use..all her lectures are clear and understanding..u can tell she likes her job and there is not much hw...shes pretty funny and keeps the class intersting

She gives great handouts, I was a little unsure at first but once u get used to her voice and style the class was good. My only thing was that her teaching style is way more relaxed than the way she grades on exzams.

All she ask's is to respect her and not have a huge conversation while she is teaching..."HINT" I failed cuz I stopped going to class due to science..yuck but my own fault I would take her 10x more..Her teaching is clear and understanding and she will stay after class to help

Ms. Torres! I love math because of her. I did not miss her class once because I just loved how she taught! She talks to you like you are her friend, not like a teacher. She made everything clear. Some did not pass her class because they were not paying attention. She will help you until you understand the material. Amazing instrictor.

She's okay.. During class she seems nice but if you try to talk to her afterwards she'll pretty much ignore you. Other than that and a ton of homework, you should be fine. Oh! And it's really hard to catch up if you miss a class.

Ms. T was an awesome teacher. This class has a lot of material to cover. You need to be there, and you need to pay attention. She was always available during her office hours. She always gave a study guide for the test (which was a life saver). If you are serious about school and willing to do your part...she's willing to help you. I received an A!

She was an awesome professor! People complain about her slang. but we are grown ups...we can handle it. As for hw. yes she gives alot but its worth it because the hw she gives us is on the test. I love Ms. Torres. I randomly chose her for Math 40 and liked her so much I decided to take her for 60. She has a dry sense of humor which makes you laugh and sit on the edge of your chair to hear what shell say next. She gives a lot of hw but if you do it it's to your benefit, she uses hw and notes for tests. Do your work and youll pass.

Professor Torres is the easiest class one can have. She makes the class fun interest and not boring. I use to hate math but she made me like it. Her class is very easy. Tests are easy and if u do the hw and quizzes you will do fine. I strongly recommend her.

MATH 60! Great proffesor! She gives you the class notes (almost like highschool) BUT YOU WILL learn. I took this class Summer 2010. It was fast (but hey its summer!). YOU WILL UNDERSTAND FACTORING after this class she is awesome and lots of practice with it. You will enjoy the class she is funny. Strongly Reommended.

She makes the class fun, although she may talk to you like if you were little kids, it's okay she makes everything clear. She's pretty funny sometimes. She's strict on the cell policy but other than that I would recommend her to my friends :)

The class started out moderately easy but by the end of the semester she started cramming us with too much information. 11 of us were not able to finish the final. If I would've studied 5 more hrs. more than the approx. 7 hrs. that I studied for finals, I might have gotten an A rather than the B I received. Attendance is a must for her class.

Ms. Torres did a lot of extra work to make the subject comprehensible and clear. If you want to learn math she is the teacher to take. Breaks it down and works with you until you get it. Go to class and do your homework. You'd have to work really hard to fail!

Amaziinnnggg teacher I love math because of her and the only reason I got a B was because I missed assignments!! Most important thing is to do your hw..if you don't you won't get the grade you want!! It will hurt your overall grade..I love the way she teaches she inspired me to get into a career that involves mathematics :D she's great!!

AMAZING TEACHER! Im not a person who loves math and isnt good when it comes to test/quizzes. But she is very clear and goes step by step. Says alot "check it out!" but overall you can get a "A" if you study and take the time to listen, be in class, & do ur work! SHE IS A MUST !!!!!

She will not accept your take home quiz or test if you are tardy! She also takes off points on exams for every little thing. Overall, it's a very easy class. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS! Guaranteed A if you do that.

No hand-holding, if you struggle with Math she may not be the best option. Having said that she is a fair professor who gives partial credit, does study guides (not copies of tests), take-home quizzes and holds study sessions donating HER time. Overall she is effective and prepares you not only for the next level of Math but college in general.

Ms. Torres is the best Math 80A teacher. I got an A after getting a D in a previous math 80A class. She was clear and thorough. During her office hours she helped as much as she could. I wished she was available for Math 80B.

Very easy, love her, she loves her students to do well, goes the extra mile, take home quizzes , sometimes take home exams, some extra credit and she gives extra time to help you. A+ professor

She is a really nice teacher! Does a lot of take home quizzes but her exams are quite hard. You need to study and ask lots of questions. Its best not to miss any class since you will be left behind. Get on her good side and she will end up helping you more.

If you have a full time job, and need to take math 60 this is your class. The homework is not due its up to you to do it, but thats to a benefit you can do it on your days off if you have a full time job. The quizzes are take home, so your able to form study groups and do them together. Hardest thing is attending other, than that class was easy, and she teaches in a way you can easily learn.

Professor Torres was my first math professor at Cerritos College and I loved her! Good, understandable lectures plus she gives notes, which is VERY helpful. Homework was optional but I would definitely recommend doing it anyway. Gives take home quizzes, and exams were not difficult (as long as you study). Overall great professor!

Had her for math 60 9 week session, she was very easy to understand, and answered all student questions, gives all take home quizzes and 3 mid terms along with a final. Hw not mandatory. The tests are easy if you just pay attention in class, and do the practice tests on her website.

I've had to retake prealgebra about 4 times in my life. I honestly thought i was hopeless when it came to math. Ms Torres completely turned that around. She explains every detail and simplifies each problem to make sure you understand. She keeps things fun with her dorky sense of humor and I intend to take her class whenever possible.

Shes great. Homework is optional but doing it will help you out. She gives take home quizzes and some extra credit. The hand outs she gives during the class clearly explain how to do the math, just follow that and you'll be fine. I only used the book twice when i got stuck. Just pay attention in class and she clearly explains questions when asked.

Ms. Torres is a really great teacher. Be on her good side and show her you care and she'll be more than happy to help. She wants all her students to pass and has great tricks to help solve complicated problems. She is a very very tough grader, she wants you to solve things fully. Her lectures are good she answers questions & the only graded things are midterms, short take home quizzes (which are easy points) & the final. Everything else is just studying and you"ll pass I was lazy I know I could've gotten a better grade I recommend her but dont miss class! I only had 2 classes and didnt work keep that in mind.

Professor Torres is the best. She is a tough but reasonable grader. Expect a lot of quizzes but the quizzes do help a lot. Exam are pretty hard but whatever that was on the lecture notes will probably be on the exam. So study the lecture note and you will definitely get a good grade on your exam.

Took this class b4 COVID. Its a shame that a lot of students give up on math bc they're not "good" at it. When in reality, they probably just had unfortunate introductions to it. Professor Torres made math so simple. Through this simplicity she gave me the confidence to continue on my math journey. I'm in Calc 3 and math 250 now.

I took her fall 2023 and overall she was really great, lots of opportunities of extra credit when you corrected her. she gives homework, but it's only for you to study. her lectures are heavy and almost every week we go thru one chapter. at least 3 exams and a final. at the end she matched our lowest grade with the final, so that boosted my score.

Amazing teacher, took her Survey of Mathematics class, it was her first semester teaching it I've failed math multiple times, and im not enthusiastic about math at all I truly believe if i'd had any other professor this time around, i would have failed again She engages you, and it's the least boring math class ever, relaxed pace, always helpful

Prof. Torres has a way to really break down material for you to understand. She is very accessible outside of class with her student hrs, canvas emails, and even her YouTube videos of the class lectures. Lowest test score is dropped at the end of the course & even gives take home quizzes. Homework is assigned but not required to turn in. 10/10 rec!
