I had her for "Cultural Change in Latin America". We had to read 2 books, do a research project & read everyday for class where we had quizzes everyday. Hard class, but she's so much fun & she makes it interesting!

Bets professor ever! I failed the mid-term but got a B in the class. The mid-term isn't hard if u study tho. She is funny as hell and keeps you up. I would def. recommend her!She's so cool I used her as a reference for a job. I still miss having her class.

her class is a blast! she will always listen to what you have to say and will never make you feel stupid.She is extremely funny and a very good professor. Word Play Linguistics: I got an A. excellent prof. Class is so interesting, many people participate. Class is like a discussion board you just add your comments if you want, she wont force u. Thought provoking class. Prof. is funny, fair, easy, fun to be around, wants you to learn. Definately take her in any subject you can't be disappointed.

Wonderful, energetic teacher who loves what she does. She's funny and keeps her lectures interesting. There is req'd reading and you MUST do it, otherwise you'll do poorly. A bit of a tough grader but overall I though she was fair. I'd definitely recommend her.

It's a pointless course to be honest, but she is an awesome lady. There is a lot of reading and papers to write, but she tells you what she wants. Show up to class, participate a bit, do the readings, and hand in the assignments, you should do fine in the class. Believe me, you find many worse professor for the course than her. Take her if you can.

Yes this class was a waste of time because we've taken like 7 courses like it. Prof Villar is really awesome though and her assigns are super easy. There were 3 assigned books to read and one i only read half and still got an A on my paper. She looks for content and that you got something from the book. Weekly readings but they're not bad. Dr. Villar is an awesome professor. Anth 202 is a hard class and there is a lot of work, but she makes it seem easier. The class takes a lot of time and effort. She is extremely helpful and wants to see her students do well. She is a very sweet person in general, so I recommend taking her!

Prof. Villar is an awesome lady. you take notes but dont have to use them for anything really. u have to read articles for class but they are very short and then a quiz just to show u read. 2 books to read and only 2 tests based on the books and a research assignment of ur choice. she wants to see her students succeed and is ALWAYS willing to help

Really sweet professor. She really cares about her students and wants to see them do well. We didn't have to buy a text book just a few (some boring) novels. A few papers, and random assignments nothing big. If you come to class, participate in the class discussions, and hand in your assignments on time it's and easy A.

She's great!! She does alot of jumping around in class.. wakes u up for a morning class.. She's very sweet and helps u with watever u need.. i think she's an easy A .. we did have to read 2 books which basically are your 2 exams and 3 assignments plus all the novel reading which is like a page each.. easy A

Great teacher! Extremely interesting class and if you put the effort to do the work you will def get an A. Although there were a lot of assignments, you just have to keep on top of them (and they're not hard!) I would def recommend taking this class!

She's amazing and I would reccommend her to anyone. IThere are a lot of weekly assignments but she keeps makes everything so interesting and she is so sweet and understanding. she actually dropped one of our big asignments because she thought she was giving us too much. A LOT OF WORK, i'm not joking. yes yes she's nice but this class HONESTLY takes up ALL YOUR TIME! she gives papers after papers after journals, and quizes, something is due everyday !!!

I'm taking my second class with her this semester, and if I wasn't almost graduating, I'd be taking more with her. Extremely awesome prof- she wants you to learn, and to have fun while doing so. She makes sure everyone understands the material. It's a lot of work, but you won't regret it. She's the reason why I changed my major to Anthro!

Professor Villar is such a wonderful woman -- easily one of the sweetest, nicest professors I've ever had at William Paterson. She really cares about her students and seems to LOVE teaching. She's so enthusiastic about the classes she teaches, and her enthusiasm is infectious. I highly recommend taking class with her, you will really learn a lot.

She gives out a lot of reading, but if you break it down in small pieces it's completely manageable! She answers emails promptly and is clear with her expectations.

GREAT professor and class. easy exams if you read, interesting reading for homework and movies in class. 2 novels and they were both very easy to read. it was a lot of work but what do people expect in college?? highly recommend this professor

Very good professor, the learning atmosphere is great in her class, class discussions are very interesting, there are 3 (easy) novels we read, which is connected to the articles that we read for class discussion and short in class writing assignment. You will earn a good grade if you read the 3 novels and the articles

She is a good person, I personally did not like the class because I am a business major and this was just a requirement. There are 3 books that I read. Just take notes basically on every chapter and you will do fine on the tests. There are readings that youll have to do every week and probably get quizzed.

There is so much work to do so be prepared for assignments due every week. The class itself is really interesting but if your not willing to do the work than don't expect an A.

I like Villar, I really do. Language Matters previously called Word Play was her first new course last semester and my class was the guinea pig... You have a response paper or two every class as well as projects due at the same time... Got an A but she acted as if we didn't have other classes to study for. Hopefully she got better.

Dr. Villar is great. She wants everyone to do well. She is funny and keeps the material interesting. Do the work, read, and you'll do fine. She is willing to negotiate with the class so that they don't feel overwhelmed. Her assignments are straightforward and not difficult and she's willing to help.

Keep in mind the class is WI so get ready to do a lot of reading and writing but she is such a passionate professor its worth it. She will move deadlines to accommodate you, works well to explain assignments and the topics are so interesting you'll want to do the reading watch the videos. (Textbooks are two novels you can find online for cheap)

This professor is super nice. she gives back really good feedback. theres 2 papers, a book exam and a final take home relating to the book. there are quizzes every week based on the readings. if you dont read, you wont pass the quizzes and they are 25% of the grade. there is also a school visit but it is not bad. easy if youre not lazy.

Dr. Villar is such a sweetheart. She's hysterical too. She can be tough at times with grading papers. The class is very WRITING INTENSIVE. My class was half in classroom/half online. It is a lot of reading, but that is the nature of the course. She makes it fun and interesting. She's an extremely intelligent woman. I would take more of her classes.

Dr. Villar brightens up the room with her energy. Her class felt like it was so full of life. There was a lot of reading but most of it was actually interesting. She really is passionate about anthropology and her students. She's willing to listen and adjust assignments based on the class's opinion which is great. Overall, I really liked her.

Professor Villar has been my favorite professor at WPU. She is so funny and the most down to earth person I have met while being here. She is constantly trying to help you so that you get the best grade possible There is a lot of reading but almost all of it is extremely interesting and can be finished quickly. Would love to have her again.

Prof Villar is one of the best professors at WPUNJ. she has a great sense of humor and also brings cheese and crackers to class sometimes. even though she does gives a lot of reading assignment, we are in college and it is expected of us to expand our knowledge. If you do what you're suppose to do, easy A. It's an interesting eye opening class, quite frankly it was the only class I looked forward to going to this semester. Keep your phones away, do your readings, watch the TedTalks, show up, participate and you're golden.

Dr. Villar's class is eye-opening and forces you as a student to think critically. There's a lot of work, sure, but nothing that you can't manage. Most of the entertainment in the class comes out of discussions and debates. There are so many sides to her class that it's hard not to find something interesting to take out of it.

I had professor Villar my first semester freshman year, and I can honestly say I was so happy that I did. I wasn't expecting to like the class, but she taught it in a way that it was not only engaging, but I also learned so much. She relies heavily on readings and participation, but as long as you come to class prepared, you'll be fine.

Quizzes can be hard if you're not prepared. As long as you show some effort she'll cut you some slack. Midterm is hard, even if you study for it.

I personally loved professor villar, confusing at first understanding material because it was a hybrid course, but very nice lady. There is a-lot of reading in this class so make sure you pay attention also keep track of the assignments.
