There's lots of extra credit opportunities and she notices when you participate during the lessons. Overall very great and straightforward, will always stay after class to answer any questions and will go over anything you might have issues with. The exams, Pearson assignments, and lectures go hand in hand so make sure to study those.

Overall, I thought Professor Martinez-Franco was a decent teacher for Physics. You do need to attend her lectures because she doesn't record them. I enjoyed taking lab with this professor. She made it relatively easy even with some labs being confusing. There were a couple of quizzes, but they were based on the lectures related to the lab, but grades were mainly based on lab reports and participation. Lectures were fast but with a combination of going over notes and textbook everything starts to make sense. professor is patient so don't be afraid to ask question if you don't understand. homework and lecture notes that are given will help you with the exams.

You really have to work for your grade. You teach the material to yourself first because she wants you to come to class with an understanding. Exams are 50% of your grade (there were 4). Conceptual quizzes are 20%, and you take them before the lecture. She encourages questions, and you can tell she cares about her students, but she is tough.

I want students to know that this is the best physics teacher you could ask for. At the beginning of class, I believed I would have to drop the course because I thought I would fail the class. However, Professor Franco thoroughly explained the material and WANTS all of her students to pass. I would give Professor Franco a 10/10.

Tough grader, cameras on and you have to participate each class (1-2 times) to receive a good attendance grade. It is not the hardest class but you need to make sure you dedicate a lot of time to this class each week to be able to fully understand the reports and participate in each class.

If you struggle with math but have to take physics I would 100% recommend her. She looks for easier ways to solve problems other than the long mathematical way. The class itself is a bit complicated, but she engages herself and her students to do good and if you don't understand something she will make sure to explain herself again.

Not too much homework, the homework is harder than the exams and if you do the homework you will get extra credit from some of it. Only four exams and the lowest exam gets dropped. She takes her time to teach the material so everyone understands it.
