Overall good teacher. Tends to talk about celebrities at times. Kinda funny. Easy to understand. Likes to talk about current events. I had fun in her class, but i can't say i learned much.

All I can say, is just do her work and you will be fine. She will give you an A if you do your work. She cancels a lot of times because she canceled our classes like six times.

She's super easy. Does not require a book. She is fun I highly recommend her, you can receive an easy A just complete her assignments. She does cancel class a few times:) I like her so much I'm taking 1302 with her. So don't miss this easy chance.

Loved her class. I have had her as a teacher before for another class and she was so fun as a teacher the first time i wanted her again as a teacher if i had the chance. Yes, she cancels class a bit but the thing is it does not affect the work you do in the class. She is very enthusiastic about the subject and cool to talk to.

if your someone who likes to learn and has time on their hands, take her. if not this class can be a burden. she is a good teacher though, makes class interesting, and she does cancel class-later on in the semester though. not a tough grader, assigns A LOT of homework. but its college,so what do u expect.

Quirky, random teacher. She likes when students participate in her discussions. You have to read articles and write. As long as you do her assignments you will receive an A. I took her for 1302 then for Lit 2300. she makes her class interesting and fun.

The course was mainly online in the beginning such as discussions and what not and small assignments. One novel to read and 6 pg final paper and visual. I pulled off the A and she's suupper easy

She's really nice and kind of strange but she helps with any problems you might have in the class. As long as you do the assignments and in-class activities then you'll be able make an A. I recommend her!

Random and quirky, she gets off topic sometimes. She likes when you speak up in class. Its an English class so you have to be prepared to write. Assignments are easy. I took her for 1302 also and she uses the internet a lot for assignments. So if you dont have a laptop be sure to use the lab centers.Really great professor!

She's kinda eccentric but in general, she's a pretty cool teacher. Class is fun since you can talk to her about almost anything. Gets kinda ticked whenever you make rudimentary mistakes on papers or assignments. As long as you do the assignments and participate in discussions about whatever book she assigns, you'll be set for a good grade.

i took her class for summer 1 & her class is very easy as long as you do the assignments. you wont have any problems because she explains everything! she does group activities so she makes the class fun. i recommend her. :)

This teacher is great. Her assignments aren't too hard and as long as you're not lazy you'll do fine. She had us write 3 essays for her class and read a novel. Attendance isn't completely mandatory as long as you keep up with the work and if you miss an assignment, she DOESN'T take late work. Unless you have a really good excuse but otherwise, no.

I took this class as an online class. She assigns alot of work and gives you the deadlines with the syllabus. There is alot of reading of novels and alot of writing but it is an easy class. Do the work and you'll make an A.

need books for everything. A LOT of work like others said. Tests are easy but hard to make 100 cuz she needs to make corrections cuz some questions are counted wrong. i did everything, my best, got a B :( agreed what was said abt paper, on how the books relate to society. hard to write 7pgs about that!

She is an unorthodox professor, but overall she is pretty cool and her assignments are fairly easy. No textbook this semester which is something new and better for us (don't have to waste money) and mostly everything will be submitted through broncmail and blackboard. and the occasional print and turn in assignments but hey, do the work get an A!

Pretty cool class! We had to form groups and stick with them for the rest of the course. During the semester my group and I had to volunteer and present in class every now and then. The professor also gives a lot of easy writing assignments. I ended up getting an A by just finishing all the little assignments and doing the one project (the final).

Escamilla is such a cool professor! She made us get in groups and had to do service learning for her class. No exams, only short responses for daily work. For her final you had to create a powerpoint presentation on what you learned from your service learning. Overall, good class, awesome professor and an easy A! Recommend:)

Ms. Escamilla is kinda boring and seems sad but class is not difficult if you do what she assigns. Normally read long articles that didn't have to even be all read to summarize in 350 words. We had to participate in a community thing and do a presentation but in my opinion easy if you follow and got my A.

I really enjoyed her class. She is entertaining but at the same time focused on what she wants you to learn. She would give daily assignments that included reading a few articles and making 250-word responses. The final project was fairly easy. I ended up getting an A.

Escamilla is a very funny teacher. Sometimes her instructions on homework might confuse students, but all you have to do is ask questions. She will always email you back! Be ready to write a lot and have homework everyday. The work is very easy if you attend her class though.

Ms. Escamilla is the best professor i have ever had. If you don't pass her class it could only be because you didn't go to the class most of the time or you didn't turn in the work. She only made us read fun books and she makes you see the importance of a community. She likes Service learning so get ready for that. Amazing teacher .

I wasn't too sure about Ms. Escamilla at first, but as the semester went on I realized it was just me! She is usually in a good mood, she is very honest too. She gives extra credit, she has a service learning you must go to. I had to buy one 10 dollar book, and you will have group projects. Attend class each day if you want to pass.

Took her for summer 1, very fun class had to watch a tv show and discuss it every episode! She can be rude sometimes but is usually helpful, everything besides the discussions is in groups

Took her for English 1301 and 1302, tries to intimidate you at first, really easy assignments and has several extra credit assignments. Go to class and you will pass. Has group assignments, a little frustrating. The only way you won't pass is if you don't go to class and do your homework. No exams just assignments. Would take her again easy A.

Professor Escamilla is an excellent teacher. She sort of has an obsession with group projects and service learning, but overall it's not too bad. Usually there's a homework assignment after every class, but responses aren't expected to be huge. Very sarcastic, but you'll enjoy her demeanor. If I had the chance, I would take her again.

She is a great professor . She can be unclear sometimes so you probably have to double check assignments. No exams just a big final project which is a bit time consuming. She also gives a lot of assignments so be aware if you're a procrastinator. Attendance is important because she does grade for participation

I was surprised to read negative reviews on Professor Escamilla, I took her for Creative Non-Fiction, and it was an easy A. Expect home work, journals, reading articles, essays, pro- folio and lots of in class discussions. But, if you do all this you will be fine. One thing I will say is she cancels class a lot, and no feedback on your work.

All reading material is provided for free through blackboard. Papers are easy if writing comes naturally to you. Must be able to speak up in class when discussing articles. Extra credit is available, but is enjoyable. Not all assignments are necessary for an A, but there is no reason to skip any of them. Professor has contacts for writers.

The whole course is based upon Service Learning, so she's going to try and get you to go out and help out in organizations. In my class we put together a Zombie Walk. She's a good professor, I don't understand why she has bad ratings. She is caring and really wants to help students. The class is not hard at all if you don't mind writing.

Passionate about teaching. Heavy group work and group grading. Makes class have energy and is fun. No tests. No books to buy. No Final with the exception of major essay and presentation projects. Sometimes cancels class so check your email daily. Sometimes unclear on overlapping projects so use your tools and group members. Nice and smart professor

She requires a lot of work and writing, will have you participate in events on campus and off campus write a paper about it and take it for a grade. It was an easy A but just be ready to do loads of work all semester. Final was an essay. she also offers extra credit which is a plus

Easiest A of my life. She is very nice and laidback. There is no midterm/final. The book is not required. There are many group assignments and writing assignments but very easy. You will do volunteer work and go to events on campus but I didnt mind it. Only way to fail is to not do the assignments. She also gives lot of extra credit. Take her!!!

My only complaint is she's very unorganized. You won't know your true grade until right before grades are due.

She's a great professor. I took her my first AND second semester of my freshman year of college. ( 1301 & 1302 ) She has a great personality and it makes you want to go to class, even if its at 8am. It's a very hands-on class, so you definitely need to show up. Overall it's an Easy A, as long as you participate and show interest. 100% recommend.

Took hybrid course. Her class was fairly easy. Multiple assignments to work on, but not heavy on essays. One final essay as a test grade. Instructions were on blackboard (email if any questions). We had a group project with Honduran students. Do the assignments and you'll be good. Gives extra credit. Takes attendance. Easy to get along with.

I previously took her 1301 course. All you have to do is follow the instructions on blackboard. Graded by couple of assignments, one research paper, one presentation, and we did have to volunteer at a center of our choice.

I had her for 1302, summer 2. She gave out clear instructions and easy assignments. As long as you do your work. Then your all set for her class.

She's fantastic! I definitely recommend her for 1301 and 1302. She's very understanding and willing to work with you. Most of her work is group work but it's easy and fun. I assure you'll really like her class it's such a fresh breath of air.

She is the best and most lenient professor i've had. The only downside is she doesn't keep Blackboard organized but it doesn't compare to her teaching and kindness. I'm taking her again for engl 1302

Which meant when it came to the final presentation it was akward because we never went to class and were strangers to each other, but it's not her fault she just had surgery, over all a easy grader just do the assignments and you gucci

Amazing professor!!! She's so much fun and interacts with the students. I had service learning and a bilingual class with her. It was intimidating at first but I'm super glad I didn't drop her. Not so so much writing mostly reading, weekly journals, and group projects/presentations!

This class is super chill! The instructor is really understanding and flexible with deadlines. There's lots of group work, so you're never alone, and presentations are done with your team. Not many essays—more creative stuff like PowerPoints. The vibe is welcoming, and you'll feel supported the whole time! 10/10 class would take again!!

Really awesome and sweet teacher! Enjoyed her class a lot and I started the year off roughly due to academic and work burnout,but she helped me to and gave me opportunities to make up for it! Escamilla the goat bro
