She explains things very well and she does'nt just tell you the "how" but the "why" of the reasons a problem is solved that way, and had lots of real life application to what she teaches, over all a very good teacher, she's funny too!

I used to struggle with math, but Maribeth makes it fun. She is funny. She focuses less on the rules and more on the essence of the math, and when you understand the essence the rules seem to just fit into place. All the while explaining and demonstrating everything in understandable, down to earth, real life terms. I hated math, now i love it.

Her teaching techniques are helpful for struggling students, but can be very confusing for students who may not struggle as much. She relates mathematics to everyday life - I'm pretty sure she made a math equation out of not being able to bend her knee one weekend...and it made sense.

Took her 093 course. Student math skills varry dramatically at this level. Maribeth focuses on the areas her students have difficulties with, class can be a-bit unorganized at times because of this. She held optional study groups once a week for those whom needed extra help. A passionate professor and great instuctor for anyone struggling with math.

Gives you the tools to succeed; She is straight forward, but you need to work and put forth effort.

Maribeth is an excellent instructor. She gives you the opportunity to go over homework questions in class. She allows plenty of extra credit and a fair amount of homework. She allows the use of calculators and for students to take test in the testing center. If you put forth the effort it is very reasonable to get an A in the course.

Math 108 is a tutoring class and it's extremely helpful. I was in Math 151 and having a different perspective other than my teacher was a great combination. Maribeth doesn't even teach math 151 yet she knows the material. The class itself is definitely worth it because it's normal sized class with extra tutors as well, so you always get help.

Makes math almost fun! She also makes it relavent. She is fair and entertaining. Definitely the teacher for those with math anxiety or those who have taken 120 before & couldn' pass. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Also took her tuturing math class Mat 108. I would recommend taking both together. She understands we have a life!

Expect only a couple of minor homework assignments. It's all about helping you understand & pass your math course. You will have opportunitues to make up missed classes. I took this class before with another instructor and did not receive the same benefits that I did with Marquard.

I struggled through this class - had to spend a LOT of time doing the homework in the math lab. She really cares and tries to teach math in way to remove the fear and foreignness -used lots of real life examples and stories. Downfall - she spent a LOT of time pushing her political agenda (HARD) when I wanted to be taught math - very offensive.

She is funny and a former social worker who understands some ppl (like me) have math anxiety. She gave me more math confidence and understanding of how math can be used in everyday interactions.
