unprepared, unclear, unorganized... horrible teacher.. I wouldn't actually use the word "teacher" since she doesn't teach. You might not worry about having her as a teacher anyway as I wouldn't be surprised if she's fired very soon. (and if you do take her as a teacher, be prepared to get 20 minutes or less to do an impossible test)

this is the worst teacher i've ever had in my life, if you even want to call her a teacher. theres no point in going to class since she expects you to know everything already. she doesnt answer questions and no in the class has any respecy for her whatsoever, if you take her class, you'd be better off not going to class and teaching yourself.

She expects students to know everything instead of teaching them the basics concepts of accounting which the class is supposed to be about.

She is more concerned with what we did over the weekend than teaching class. Keeps changing the the class assignments so I do a problem and then find out I wasted my time. Going to class is a waste as you can learn more by teaching yourself. Should have been an online class.

Marie Dawson is a **** who is a supervisor, NOT a teacher. Any1 who calls her a teacher is dumb. She expects us to know everything about accounting, when this is the 1st acc class most of us have ever taken....now does that make sense? We have pop quizzes that are impossible, and its impossible to keep up cuz she wont stop. We are 5 chapters ahead

The worst class being offered at Illinois State being taught by the worst teacher at Illinois State! Stay very far away from this class

She might be the worst teacher I have ever had! She is an idiot! Although she curves the test ALOT because our class avg for exam 2 was a 56! I dont think she should be teaching. I want my money back... its been a waste of my time and money!

This is the worst class I have ever taken! She is a horrible teacher. She is unorganized, unprepared, and is amused that the whole class is failing! Drop this class; it is your only hope! And if you don't (like me) you’re screwed. ISU I want my money back!!!!

easiest class you will take here shes dumb but she curves the test i have yet to go to class to learn and im getting a 110% in the class explain that to me my second test i got an extra 45 points added on to it, its a sweat deal

Terrible, terrible teacher - if you even consider her one. There were student uprisings almost at every class meeting. Half the class left within the first 20 minutes. Sure, she curves the hell out of the tests, but still - don't have her at a supervisor (I will not classify her as a teacher), for it would be an insult to the word).

ugh, such a terrible teacher all around. unorganized and some of her comments to students are just mean. her solution to low test scores is to give 50 point curve. i feel bad for anyone in this major and had her, they wont know what they are doing in later classes.

She is horrible... she pretends like she cares about her students but she can not communicate the class material. She is so unorganized, and does not teach at all. she makes you do all of the grading and she never responds to e-mails - to save yourself a lot of frustration don't take this class with her!!

Worst teacher ever. I'm not a slacker student, and this class is still a pain in the ass. if you can avoid taking this class with her, do it! Ya so she doesn't teach the material hardly at all in the class. Then she gives exams that have a like 60 questions and you never have time to finish the test. If you have to take this class take it with someone else because she sucks ass.

If you wanna be totally confused and learn nothing about accounting, then take this class. The only reason I showed up was for the mandatory attendence. Trying to copy her notes was pointless, b/c she's so unorganized. My only way of learning anything is the textbook, and that sucks too! Avoid her at all costs!

Some teachers are smart and not good a teaching. Other teachers are good at teaching but not smart. Well, Dawson is probably one of the most dumbfounding teachers that I have ever had class with. I debated for a while of whether to sue ISU for using incompetent professors. Her talent represented that of a high school drop out.

She expects you to know everything before coming to class. you might as well just read the book and take the exams cause she does not really teach anything

SHE DOESNT TEACH don't take her it's awful you'll teach yourself everything its terrible she doesn't know what she's doing she takes notes at 4893 mph you can't write anything down. she takes attendence everyday so you have to go to class even though its pointless because you don't learn anything DONT TAKE THIS CLASS FROM HER. i warned you.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!! she is absolutely awful. i attended class EVERYDAY and barely passed with a C. she is unclear and ready from the lecture notes which are online. She uses a bunch of random ones from past years and goes on tangents often. TAKE ANOTHER TEACHER FOR ACC 132!!!!!!!

By a margin greater than the size of the universe this is the worst teacher I have had in my entire life. I have not learned one single thing about accounting from the class except for what I taught myself outside of class. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

Sitting in on her class twice a week was some of the best comedy you will find. Get her a show on Comedy Central. Also, she's crazy. But her tests are not that bad if you teach yourself the material.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Attendance is mandatory, but after taking the class, I did not learn a single thing in any class. I had to teach myself the entire course. If you can avoid taking Marie, do so. If you cannot avoid her, switch your major to not have to take this class or prepare yourself for hell.

She is completely and entirely unorganized. She never knows what she told the 8AM class or the 12:35 class and usually confuses both, as well as herself. She cannot teach and if you are not prepared to teach EVERYTHING to yourself, get a new teacher. She's nice, though, if that counts for anything.

Her lectures are hard to follow and absorb. Plan on teaching yourself by using connect plus. Her sense of humor is like a pony on a skateboard. Good luck!

WORST Teacher i have ever had. She is unorganized and even enters stuff into the gradebook wrong giving the wrong results unless you correct her. STAY away like its the plague

Taught myself the entire class. She went over optional homework every day but would use notes from the class period before. Extremely boring class.

Where do I even start. Taught myself the entire class. If you have the option, take someone else. One test covers 5 chapters while another test covers 2. Poor planning. The notes she has online are unclear and useless. The notes in class are marked on already. She'd rather play mother hen than actually teach. It's just awful to say the least.

I have no idea why ISU keeps her around because you will gain ZERO knowledge from her lectures, which have no structure, yet are mandatory. Connect and Learnsmart help. However, the way she works her test and points, it's an easy A (even though you'll have no idea how you got that A or where the points came from)

A friend and I would time how long it would take her actually start lecture. The record was a full hour and that was before we stopped paying attention and just did the homework in class. We finished 2 weeks early but instead of taking the last test and ending the class we had to watch ultimate factories and do team building for 2 weeks.

Lectures aren't helpful at all so just go, sign in and open your laptop and do whatever. I spent abut 75% of class periods browsing reddit and listening to podcasts and still got an A. Just be prepared to teach yourself the material. Also do the learnsmarts because they are easy extra credit.

Worst teacher ever. the first 4 days of the semester we did no work at all then we started on inventory and fixed cost and had a test the next week.

Absolute horrible teacher. Not only does she not teach a thing in lecture but she will also never show up to a single office appointment that you schedule.

If you want to get a good grade in this class, take Dawson. She is not a good teacher and you have to teach yourself, but she gives out a lot of extra credit and curves test. I got B on all her tests, but still got a high A in her class. Her lectures are pointless and confusing, but go for attendance points. Plus you can do all online hmw in class

This class was actually terrible but I got C's on all her tests and still got an A in the class because she gives out so much extra credit. If you don't care that you're not learning anything about managerial accounting, take her.

This lady is absolutely god awful! Go to class to get your attendance points and bring your laptop so you can do your online HW or pull up the ebook to teach yourself. You might as well tune out her lectures because she doesn't cover anything educational. ACC 132 with Dawson... where you teach yourself managerial accounting.

Terrible class to sit through. But if you bring your laptop to class you will be able to complete most of the hw there. Make sure you do show up to class everyday because there is attendance points. Got a 78% on the first 2 tests and had a 100% going into the final. Tons of extra credit. Needed a 50% on the final to get an A.

I am writing this review from Dawson's classroom during one of her lectures. Your best bet to succeed in this class is to completely zone out on your computer during class and learn on your own time. I listened to a lecture once and left knowing less about accounting than I did before it. No joke. You need to get the online access code to do the hw

This class was awful. Her lectures consist of her mumbling to herself and making mistakes. She confuses everyone when she tries to explain things because she doesn't do it right then gives up and moves on. She gives a lot of homework and quizzes but it is all online so that helps a lot with the grade. I did not learn anything from the class.

You'll learn more from doing the homework and assignments, as she always is blabbering about something irrelevant to class. Today she spent a lot of time ripping on Bruce Rauner rather than teaching. This is basically a self taught class with mandatory attendance. Oh and she spent like 20 minutes trying to correct her seating chart. Avoid her!

Marie Dawson is the worst Accounting professor I have ever had. She makes us buy a Packback account.. Our final is next week and she still doesn't have a method to recording those points in our grade. She does not use gradebook, and none of her lectures relate to the homework OR the tests. Attendance counts as a test grade. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.

Attendance is mandatory but prepare to learn nothing in class and to teach yourself on your own time. Confuses herself during her lectures and spends way too much time on insignificant details. Extremely nice person, just an awful teacher.

Get ready to teach yourself managerial accounting, by far the worst professor i've ever had! Attendance is mandatory but she goes off topic so much, confuses herself when doing problems, has a seating chart but on exam days its a free for all (literally makes no sense) so good luck finding a seat, and has a weird grading criteria (11 page sylabi)

Marie Dawson is not a great teacher. She confuses herself all the time. Spends 20 minutes on one topic and still doesn't understand. She is NOT a good teacher at all and quite frankly needs to retire. She's sweet and nice but be prepared to teach yourself everything in order to even get a C on the exams. Avoid taking her if you have the chance!

Dawson is the most unorganized professor I have ever had. She spends most of her lecture time trying to remember her passwords and telling students to not text and drive. Not a single student in class listens to her rants. For the sake of accounting she needs to be replaced. These are the professors that give higher education a bad name. Avoid her

If you can listen to her rambling for more than 5 minutes you should get a noble prize. Shes a nice lady but you will not learn a thing in this class be prepared to teach yourself everything. It is embarrassing for Illinois State that she is still employed here. I shouldn't even need this class as a bus admin major. Huge waste of time and money.

Shes the worst teacher I have ever had. You cant just throw a book at students and tell them to read and spend an hour and 15 minute class not lecturing. I dont understand how isu gave her the title of accounting professor. This lady does not teach at all she will spend 30 minutes of class talking about events that are happening on campus.

WORST. CLASS. EVER. Only come for the attendance points, I have learned nothing from her all semester. The only things I have learned have been the things I have taught myself from doing the homework. She always keeps us the entire time and talks about accounting for 30 min of the 1:15 class. Take with ANY other professor.

She literally talks about accounting for half the class, then she will ramble about things that has nothing to do with the class. You will learn on your own. I literally can not tell you a single thing that I have learned in this class. Worst professor.

She does NOT teach. She goes over examples in class but you basically teach yourself the material. No one listens in her class. Do NOT take her if you do not have to. The only good thing is that there are only 3 exams which includes the final.
