Donaghay was an unhelpful, ungrateful and difficult teacher to work with and work for. Her intentions and tests were difficult to study for, and she offered little assisstance in doing so.
horrible...that is all i can say...absolutely horrible...

Only 3 weeks of class and it's already AWFUL!!! Stay away!
She laughs at tragedies, makes fun of her students, and plays favorites. She should be shot.
Her class is very hard, I can't lie. However, I think she only wants us to do our best. She critizes people's work a little too hard but it's not too bad. Avoid her if possible, but if not you will live.

SHE SUCKS. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HER WHEN SHE SPEAKS, SHE MAKES FUN OF STUDENTS, HER WRITING ON THE BOARD IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ, TALKS ABOUT PEOPLE'S GRADES IN FRONT OF THE CLASS, AND HER TESTS ARE CONFUSING. NEVER EVER TAKRE A CLASS WITH HER.
THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER IN ESU!...NEVER TAKE HER...she grades hard and doesn't know how to speak english...

I was assigned this class as an incoming freshman. I cannot believe this woman actually gets paid to do what she does. She is a freak!
She knows what shes talking about, but is very very bad at teaching it. She goes off on tangents, has no organization, and you can't read her writing. Oh, and she has a crazy laugh which makes it very hard not to break down laughing.
Very difficult teacher, no organized lecture between book and her lecture. Tests are impossible.
She is the worst professor. Doesn't care about students. Never has time to help. She should retire.
Absolutely horrible. She interrupts all of the time, never letting the student presenters do their job, and goes off on these awful tangents about who she knows and how she met them and isn't clear about ANYTHING she wants us to do. BAH
Teaching skills are very poor. Grades unfairly. DO NOT TAKE HER.
she is a psycho. she told our class that if we wanted to meet a muslim, to go to a gas station. then she proceeded to talk about everyones grades out loud. and she makes us feel stupid.
She is not very good at relating her lectures to the book. The papers and test are impossible...
tests are easy to cheat on...she gives a 2 week grace eriod..she still wear the same clothes everyday...kinda freakyy...especially when she tries immitating languages...dont take her..not worth it....
An arrogant, pompous jerk! Her history has no cohesion. Interrupts student presenters constantly, goes off on unrelated tangents, expectations for papers are nebulous, wears the same clothes all the time. A pure waste of time and money.
Very knowledgeable about her subject, but her lectures are very hard to follow as she gives a lot of information that isn't relevant to the text reading. Lectures are FAST and note-taking is difficult when you miss half of what she says. Test are hard.
She is a very smart woman who knows what she is talking about, but you won't have any clue. She talks really fast with these big names that she feels you should already know even though the lecture has nothing to do with the text. Wears the same clothes!!

Complete and total lack of competence. Learning about the ancient civ.'s of Africa and Islam have nothing to do with her trips to Europe and how much she likes discussing those trips with the class. STAY AWAY
Hard class. It was seminar based, at least it was supposed to be. 2 mins into my lecture she took over then penalized me for "not mentioning key facts." Well it was because she shut me up after 2 mins! Everything she said, I was gonna cover.
I swear the woman dropped her notes before each class and just taught from them but she is a cool lady and she was always there when I needed her but I didn't learn a damn thing. Freshman and those with high gpa stay away I got a C it was my major.
She is a nice lady, but god does she suck. Can not follow lectures b/c she talks fast and do not match the readings. Her office smells like ass, she wears the same clothes and we only put up with her because she is Mike's mom.
Even though she is a nice lady, her classes are absolutely horrible. She reads directly from a prepared manuscript and she never varies from it. Her classes are a complete bore and very unemotional. Avoid her at all costs
SENILE...talks way too fast and her lectures are useless...bring a good book or a cd player(she won't notice). she really needs to retire.
The Class isn't easy, and the professor drones on a bit in class, but overall its pretty interesting stuff shes teaching and she makes it doable. Lastly she has nonmandatory attendance, which is a major plus.

Very difficult professor. Her course is 100% lecture, with 2 midterms, 2 papers, and a final. If you are one of the unlucky incoming freshmen that is stuck with taking her course, my suggestion to you is to go to her for help as often as possible. Otherwise, DO NOT TAKE HER.
"snagle tooth" is by far the worst teacher i have ever had. the whole class either got a D or failed except for the dorky kid who sat in the front and sucked-up. Horrible teacher horrible class. DROP IT! YOUR LIFE AND GPA DEPENDS ON IT
worst class. i must have gone to her for help 10 times in the semester and she couldnt answer one question clearly. i dont even think she knows whats gonna be on the test until its written. dont even read the book it wont help you. she lectures to fast and you dont have time to write it all down.

um, she really is well intention. BUT a bit scatter brained and unclear. and her tests are brutal. if you earn a b, you're a freaking genius. and yeah, i'm a history major
DO NOT take this teacher. I sat and listened to this woman babble for two hours each class period and ended up taking about a half page of notes each time. I ended up dropping the class. Complete waste of time!
My favorite professor at ESU so far! There is so much insight into European political and social development. Very good stuff. Her lectures in no way coincide with the book. Which is great. I pay a professor to convay their knowledge to me. Not reiterate a book I had to pay for myself! Her tests are very easy. Unless you have a bad memory and/or take bad notes. If you want a responsible government and if you want to stop the de-evolution of our society. Take this class.

Random teacher. She sucks at teaching, but she give a test date and you have two weeks to take the test from that date, she calls it a "make up period" but its just an extra two weeks. Papers dont need to handed in on time either
Donaghay means well, but its hard to learn from her. I only did somewhat decent because of a class that I had which was similiar. Dont take her, Dellipricoli, Wilson, Michkin are good :)
I have said it once and I will reiterate, PLEASE RETIRE. She is senial and confused me for someone who is a foot shorter, has differnet color hair and was not in class that week. Knows history, but has no other life whatsoever. Sat on a chair that said broken because she "did not know how broken it was" and fell on her ass. Leave ESU, please.
Ok she's unoragnized and hard to follow but shes not horrific. Lectures are definately scattered and she admits it. Study the notes and take lots of them. Tests are alot easier than people make them out to be,just the big picture. Study and take notes the class is demanding but if you have a good work ethic and put in the time, A is possible
she can teach at all, you teach yourself. The material is interesting, but she makes it boring.
RETIRE, PLEASE GOD LET HER RETIRE. The worst thing that has ever happened to ESU. Take her at your own risk. I do not know what is worse about her: her attitude towards students, her personality (which is undiscovered), her lack of teaching ability, her stench or her stupidity.
i tell all of you, unless you feel like bringing down your gpa do not take this teacher ever in your college career at ESU. shes a smart lady, but too smart and does not realize who she is teaching. she is very unclear, and the work is ridiculous for a prep class for sem 2. She's completely useless. Because she doesn't take attendence, there's no motivation to go to her class. Shes very boring and if you have her in the morning, you can't stay awake. The only good thing about her is that she lets you hand in papers and take tests late.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!! MOST BORING TEACHER AT ESU! impossible to stay awake during her long droning lectures. tests are hard but you can make them up up to 2 weeks after the test date. only good things about this horrible teacher.
One of my favorite professors at ESU, I have taken her 3 times so far, and have gotten an A each time. Makes you work for your grade though, tough but more than fair. If you want to take a class for an easy grade Donaghay's not for you. But if you actually give a damn about recieving an education in history she's the best professor out there.
A prof. should want to help students, I didn't think mocking students was in the job description...a waste of time. She should be fired.

she is old school in that you need to read the text, have an understanding of what you are learning, and add to the discussion. she is so dam knowledgable about her subject matter that sometimes she gets carried away, but you cannot blame her for that. she is awesome
she knows her history. The textbook and her notes are a must. In order to pass in any subject you must study. Her maps are 15% of your grade and she stresses that point.The professor will take the time to and go over information with you.She is an interesting professor.
I honestly dont understand how she has a job still. I tried to go to her for help and she made me more confused. She herself said that she doesnt have a degree in teaching! It frustrates me when a teacher TELLS her students that its impossible to get an A in my class... come on you know were all here to learn and we all need certain GPA's!

Very hard to keep focused in her class, she writes a couple words on the board and then rambles on the entire class. Gives two exams and assigns alot of reading. I would not recommend taking this class.
She is the WORST professor I've ever had! She is absolutely useless, doesn't know what she's talking about and reads her notes (which are not in the book). Don't waste your time trying to get help from her she'd rather see you fail. Her tests are ridiculous and if you don't write what she wants you to write, you'll fail.

This lady teaches complete randomness. Her lectures are almost impossible to follow, her papers are almost impossible to ace, and her tests hardly deal with what is taught. Don't take her unless you need to.
DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! If you want to do well, stay away from her class! She knows what she's talking about but her organizational skills are at level with a 3 year olds. And because of this note taking is utterly impossible. Her grading is absurd even with help from a Lit Major/tutor your paper will never meet her sky high levels of expectation.

This woman has made me the most miserable human being on the face of the earth. What I thought would be an interesting, mildly easy GE History course has turned into a gauntlet in hell. For the sake of your sanity, happiness and love of history, do not take her. PLEASE.
This woman is brilliant. If students do not like her teaching it is because they are too lazy and really do not need to be in college but should rather be in a trade school. She is the Scholar's Professor! She is generous with students and takes them on trips to Europe and She will go out of her way to HELP any student who is SERIOUS.
This is not at all to denounce her historian knowledge; however her teaching skills are not up to this Century. You will not be given power points! She is a true lecture professor, only writing on the board what YOU should read and study more into. If your searching for an ?Easy A? this is NOT the class for you! (she is sweet and will help you)
Very incoherent; literally muffled and mispronounces everything although she is American. Talks about her German vacations every class for the entire period. Reads a paper of notes entire class. Misleading assignments. Tests are too long. Seems knowledgeable, however, she cannot communicate (no disrespect). Too many books and reports; 20pgs/4books.
dont take! reason... read all that have post. the class was painful. you will need to teach your self and hope your remembering what she will put on exam. wish i never spent the money on her!
Though the lectures can be a bit muddled, the work assigned is very helpful for research and writing in other classes and grad school. Plus, she's brilliant. I think she knows everything.

very knowlegable, but this is the WORST class ever! Only 10% of the material covered in class is on the test & the other 90% is something completely random. She will not give a study guide, or tell you whats on the test. And the class is based off of 2 tests and THATS ALL! There are no other assignments & attendance/participation counts for nothing
Dropped her class in the middle of the semester because she is so hard. Very smart woman but I just can't follow her teaching style. Her lectures made me very confused and she just stands there and talks and writes random words on the board. Only take if you are determind to read the book and research on your own, other wise DON'T TAKE!
God Awful Teacher. Extremely hard. Test are horrible. If you don't mind reading 7 chapters which are 30 pages long and try to remember 20 hours of lecture for each test then you will be fine, but it's a little impossible to do that.
The fact that I have to teach myself everything in my World Civilizations class is terrible. She seems to know everything about the subject, but the fact that she can not relay it to her students is terrible, and it does not make her a good professor just because she knows the content
Dr. Donaghay's teaching style is very old school. It's almost entirely lecture based and she will give you little to no handouts or visual learning tools for the course other than her lectures. Therefore, you REALLY need to pay attention to do well in her class. If you do, however, you'll find that she's very knowledgable and kind.
