I love this class - the book, the prof. Everyone should take it!
The test are not from the readings but from her lectures. Talks way to fast.
Talks too fast, lectures are full of statistics that aren't included in exams
she knows her stuff and test are easy
wonderful woman, really cares about teaching
No Comments
talks fast and tests are hard but is a very interesting class
doesnt talk about anything that is on test but pretty easy class anyway
tough grader, the WORST class, don't take honors section, dreaded this class
Easy A, but you need to work a little for it. Worthwhile class, nice teacher
Easy class but interesting material. Makes you see life in a whole new light
super easy, dont bother w/the book, just take good notes and you will get an A
don't take class if you hate writing papers, expect about 10
Right nice papers and you will do fine
easy A don't bother w/ the readings just go to class & take good notes
very nice person...extremely fair! take this class!! very interesting!
easy A if u take good notes/go to class/x-tra cred, looks like howard stern
very boring-fall asleep in lecture; not hard class though - can get A
talks fast but really easy class
Very nice, easy and interesting class
best teacher ever
Great teacher, just participate and attend class.
Nice teacher explains everything indepth, papers are easy as long as follow instructions
Super boring but really easy, tests come mostly from the lectures so make sure you go and try not to fall asleep.
easy if you go to class. not hard, helpful and common sense class
Great teacher. Really knows her stuff. Helpful and assigns easy reading. Talks fast, but is willing to go the extra mile to help you. Do the study guides! Easy A!
great teacher, straight forward tests, easy A, take this class
SPEED TALKER!! very interesting class...very nice, very smart...loves what she teaches...go to class, do extra credit, tests not bad...pay attention to study guide!
I took 4 classes with her. She's really easy. Tests are a cinch and straight from the notes.
talks really fast so be prepared, really into what she does which is nice, readings are interesting, material helpful for real life, tests and other assignments very easy
Great Prof. Class is sometimes boring, but tests are EASY. Totally BSable topics... I'd recommend
This lady did a great job teaching women & violence. I wish UD would keep her for WOMS courses! She was an awesome, laid back lady!
She's very nice and knows her stuff. Her class is fairly easy but not ridiculous. I would recommend her!
She was pretty easy. I really enjoyed the class. Her lectures were sometimes boring but she is an nice lady and the course topic is actually interesting.
great prof. very understanding. good lectures. lots of chances for extra credit. exams are take home. only down side--too many reading assignments (5/6 books?).
Pretty easy class, lectures are very boring, unstructured, and she goes too fast. Didn't really get a lot out of the course, but it was a good one to take as an "easy class" got a B+
Take this class...
I loved this class, fairly easy for a 300-level. She gives moderate amounts of work but overall it's a good class. Take her.
great prof. very understanding. really enjoys the material. lots and lots of reading. exams are take home.
Easy and interesting class. Make sure you read in order to do well on tests. Nice woman who really cares about she is talking about.
Awesome proffesor, tests aren't bad as long as you read the articles at the end of each chapter, truly nice and interesting lady who cares about her students.
She is great professor who really cares about the students and what she is teaching! She goes really fast but the tests are easy as long as you read. Easy A/B.
Ugly people, stupid theories, dumb discussions. Loved the class. Laberge is very open minded, even when people shoot holes in the crappy feminist rhetoric.
Shes awesome, dumb ass class about tree hugging ****s, but easy easy class. Just read the end of the chapter and answer everything pro choice pro women on the multiple choice, and write how women are horribly discriminated against on the essay part.EASY
Easy teacher. Gives assigments and take home essay test. Doing the work on time = A. Opened minded about opinions no matter how outlandish.
awsome prof. she knows her stuff, teaches an easy class and loves what she teaches. if you are intersted in feminism she so great to learn from. if you don't like woms stuff u won't enjoy but easy to get a high grade
Animated professor that really cares about her subject and will listen to everyone's opinion. Not too hard to get a good grade, just keep up with response papers and you will do fine.
super easy, really nice, enthusiastic. go to class because she takes attendance and the tests are mostly on in-class notes. you dont really have to do the reading to do well
she is the best teacher so far. i highley recommend taking her intro to women's class.
Wonderful prof. Inspiired me to switch my major to womens studies. Summer session take home exams. Just do the reading and you're fine. Fall class: extra credit for showing up on fridays.
Readings and papers every week. Only take this class if you are interested in the topic
Great professor. Easy grading, out of 100 points. You can do extra credit and get 5 points. Very interesting class, good annecdotes, she explains the reading in class so you can do pretty well in her class. Great class.
great professor, show videos in class sometimes, does NOT use any powerpoint, just talk and goes though the vocabs from the book. send out lots of emails for outline, study guides and possibilities of extra credits
i really enjoyed this class and hope to have the chance to be in her class again. as long as you attend class and do the work there are no problems, and the material is quite interesting as well.
This class very interesting. I would deifinitely recommend this class to others. And guys she does not bash guys as much. she tries to get their opinions on all the topics discussed in class. I loved this class because i learned new things and it was very informative. i walked away with new info
I'm a guy and I really enjoyed class. AT times she'll come up with crazy stats like women only make up 10% of construction workers; I mean really, how many women aspire to be a construction worker? Overall it's an easy class and it really does make people understand how male-dominated society is.
i am a guy and i i liked this class. not very hard class.. put so little effort into the class and rarely went got b+..she doesnt hate guys...would take her again
Great Class!! easy A if you do the readings and go to class(takes attendance). Nicest professor i've had yet! Wasn't interested in the class at first, but turned out to be a great class! I'd recommend it to everyone..really makes you think about how society really is. Laberbe is an awesome prof.
wasn't too hard, just hard to stay awake through..always felt like i failed the tests, but never did--very nice lady
This class was so easy! Although I was sure I'd end up with a B, miraculously I got an A. LaBerge wants everyone to get an A and although her point system is only based on about 100 points the whole semester getting an A is simple if you do most of the readings and extra credit(which is also EASY)
laberge is awesome. i loved how she was able to teach from personal experience, it was obvious that she is very passionate and knowledgeable about this topic. the class was really easy and very interesting... when i went. she had an attendence/participation grade, i rarely went and got an A.
Laberge is a very nice lady, and extremely helpful. She likes makes sure that people know about events on campus that pertain to her classes. Your mailbox will be full 24/7 from all the stuff she sends. Makes the class interesting.
I LOVED HER i thought she was a funny and insightful teacher who knew alot about her field. has great passion for her work and was extremely helpful when going for help. always wasa pleasure to go to class
Awesome professor. She really knows her stuff and makes sure that you do too. This is a great class...work isn't too bad. I recommend this class and anything else that she teaches.
This is the easiest class ever. I thought it was going to be boring, but it was actually ok. She is a very nice lady.
Shes so nice and very helpful do the readings and you will do well. Easy Elective.
Great professor. Really, genuinely nice and passionate about womens studies. Instead of just lecturing she made class interesting with videos and group work that actually made you think. Actual lectures could be dull at times, but exams were farily easy, and projects/papers/extra credit were basically free pass As. Definitely take this course.
I love this professor. She is so passionate about what she teaches and she makes the class interested in it aswell. Readings were actually interesting. She encourages discussion and is tolerant of different ideas (though she is very set in her own). Is not a strict grader as long as you make sure you follow all directions completely. TAKE HER!
Interesting class, lots of reading and writing assignments, but no tests in class. Class was demanding, esp during summer session 5 1/2 wk session. Great course and if you put some effort into your work you will be fine. She is an awesome professor and makes class entertaining
Nice person, assigns too much reading & assignments. Assigns "field trip" project (go to event outside of class), assignment where you have to research & report on websites, an essay test on a novel, PLUS the regular class tests! WAY too much work. Gives so much work it's like she thinks her class is the only one you're taking!
I took her for both Intro the womens studies and women and violence. Verrrry nice woman, offers extra credit and classes are very easy (and i hardly ever went to either of them). Gives a lot of little assignments which can be annoying but are very easy to complete and not time consuming. Tests are very fair and straightforward. Definately take her!

Wonderful teacher & nicest woman ever! Do the assignments and study for tests and you will be fine. Definitely take this class with her if you can!
she's amazing, wants you to do well, memorize study guides and that's basically the test. she's great take it.
Very nice lady. Class is actually kind of interesting. Assignments aren't bad. I didnt go to class very much and ended up with a B. Just do the study guides and the work and you'll be fine!
Easy class, but pretty boring. Didnt go a lot and still got an A. A lot of the notes are on the test tho, so try to go to class. Easy A.
YOU JUST NEED TO TAKE HER!!! The easiest class ever!!!
Is very impersonal, but easy. Take advantage of the extra credit. Concepts are interesting, but she teaches like a textbook, but worth it for the easiness.
This is an easy class with easy projects and homework. I think the tests can be tricky sometimes but overall if you study hard you will get an A. Lots of work though with the study guides but very nice lady.
i loved this class, and i think professor laberge is AWESOME!!!
EASIEST CLASSES EVER! TAKE ANY CLASS SHE TEACHES!!
Very nice lady. Not a hard class if you just do the work and do the extra credit. She is passionate about what she teaches and wants you to learn.
Easy class, pretty clear about everything you need to know. Read the book!!! Maybe lots of papers, but they are all easy, and you can throw in your opinion. Was willing to discuss matters during class if need be. Hope you don't get girls who preach feminism but practice otherwise
Any class with her is great. Take good notes, study off of the study guides and skim the readings to understand the themes, do all the little papers and extra credit and there's no reason not to get an A. She makes class interesting and she is truly an awesome person and professor. Definitely sign up for any class with her, you won't be sorry!
She is a really nice lady. She gives you 6 paper assignments that she grades easily that really help your grade. I never did too well on her tests, but I ended up getting an A because of the papers & extra credit. There are 3 tests and no final/cumulative exam. You just have to read a lot.
Shes really nice and funny. Class is laid back, interesting, eye opening and very easy. Lectures follow book so you really dont want to read. Tests are quite easy too. You have to do 5 papers, but she grades them really easily. Lots of extra credit too. I would recommend!!!
TAKE HER! This is SUCH an easy class. She's a really easy grader. Her study guides ARE the tests. Any papers you write are graded really easily. She's a really nice lady & she's pretty funny.
While feminism may be a difficult issue to communicate to students, Professor Laberge was great! Definitely read the textbook, even though the texts can be long and boring. She really wants her students to excel and did her best to help us understand the material. I would definitely recommend her.
One of my favorite classes. just take her, i wasn't so sure about women's studies, but i took her and now i find it quite interesting. learned so much and if you do what she tells you, you will get a great grade.
This is my second class with Laberge. I loved the first but this one not so much. The readings were difficult to get through (boring and lots of it). Other then that thought she is a good teacher and really funny. She's not the stereotypical 'ranting feminist' either, and wont be prejudice against guys.
I loved her, she was such a great teacher and even though she talked for most of the classes, it was still very interesting. Some of the readings in the textbook were boring but the other book is great even though we hardly did anything within class about it.
take this class. she is a really nice woman and not the stereotypical feminist. material intersting. you must go to class though. most of the test material is straight from the lecture with a new questions on book material. i would take her again.
Excellent teacher- makes Women's Studies very wellrounded by talking about everything from homophobia to ageism. readings from text are tested, extra credit available to bump up whole letter grade--easy A
She's an amazing teacher. I got 50% on my first exam and got an A- for the semester. Make sure you go to each of her classes, because attendance counts, and do everything she tells you to and you'll get an A.
I just took this class and received an A. Go to class. Take notes. Read the textbook. However, don't bother with the articles towards the end of each chapter. There are so many of them and the test will only have a few of those questions and the short answers never deal with them. So, guess and hope for the best on those. Overall, easy A.
my favorite teacher to this date. inspired me to change my major and reformat my entire area of study.
wonderful woman. she is brilliant and very nice. the classes can sometimes be boring but the assignments and tests are relatively easy. a lot a reading to do but it is just a repeat of the lectures in class. the class was good, not too hard and mildly interesting. i'd recommend it unless you are a chauvinist.
awesome teacher! classes could be a little boring but for the most part were interesting. only 3 exams and they were fairly easy if you do the readings. easy gpa booster.
This class was interesting but very reptative. She knows her stuff and goes over the chapter material in class so there's no need to read except for the readings at the end of each chapter. Exams are pretty self explanatory and easy. I recomment her for any Women's Studies Class.
TAKE HER!!! go to class and take notes, and read the readings at the end of each chapter. if you need help go to her office hours----she is extremely helpful. A MUST!!!!
Laberge is a gem and such a great professor!! She is so passionate about this class, women and violence, and it's such an important and interesting topic. Her exams are straightforward, read the readings and keep up with the classwork! 2 exams, 6 papers, 1 group presentations & weekly learning logs. However, it's worth it b/c this class is great!
she is such a nice lady and cares about what she is teaching. u have to do some readings, but if u miss a few at the review session they will tell u what u need to know. exam mostly from lectures. readings are short. the 6 papers u have to write are 1 page each. has extra credit. if u ask her 4 help she is willing to give it.
Laberge is a very good teacher and an easy grader. 2 take home exams, 1 presentation, lots of little writing assignments.
50% of your grade is exams, the rest is in class participation!
She really is a nice person and class was fairly simple. I'm not much for writing things but still managed A's on her papers. There was a LOT of work though, and lectures are superboring.
awesome class. The professor helps her students, the exams are easy, and the readings are pretty easy as well. She offers an extra credit assignment which is cake, and any papers you need to write are 3 page max. it was an awesome class and you should take her for intro!
Laberge is very into the subject and the class (Women and Violence) is usually interesting. You have a lot of grades, a lot of response papers, a group project, so it's easy to get it up if you don't do well on the midterm and final. You have to take a lot of notes, and the readings are long, but it's interesting. I recommend this course.
Very sweet lady. Very easy class. Gives extra credit. I would highly recommend her.
Really great teacher. Is a lovely woman, and wants her students to do well. Follow her instructions, go to class, and take notes and you will do well. Didn't read most of what she assigned and still got an A in the class. Definitely recommend taking her classes.
BEST class & professor I've had during my time @ UD. She is so passionate about the subject; she's the reason I'm taking another women's class next semester. Gives extra credit; good amount of reading, but the readings are very easy to follow. I had my doubts at first, but I ended up with an A. Amazing class/professor.
GREAT PROF! She is the reason i am now taking another womens studies class next semester. Attend class. Its really interesting. She gives extra credit and plenty of time for assignments. TAKE HER
Very enthusiastic. MUST read readings from feminist theory book. Lots of small writing assignments but they're easy and help your grade. Exams are 2-essay take-home exams and not bad. One group presentation but it wasn't hard. Overall as long as you go to class and do the small assignments, you'll get an A. Laberge is passionate about the subject.
Laberge is a very nice woman! She does not hide her beliefs on certain issues. The class is pretty much common sense. The class is out of 100 points, there are two exams and a non-cumulative final. Go to class because she will give answers to the next exam. 2 papers, a "field trip assignment" and a 5 point extra credit opportunity. Very easy A.
The only thing I did not like was that it was very lecture style, a religions course should be more interactive and she should've shown more images and videos. On the other hand, she is very friendly and an easy grader. She provides extra credit opportunities too
Great women's studies class. Very fair professor, does not really push her ideals on you. If you read/go to lecture, you should get an A. Grade based on midterm and final (not cumulative), 6 short response papers (1-2pages), and short learning log assignments on Sakai.
Really nice lady, she has plenty of office classes. A lot of reading so make sure you have the textbook. Exams as more challenging than expected because there is A LOT of material covered for each (some is common knowledge) and make sure you do the extra credit!
If you are reading these reviews and thinking that this will be an easy breadth I would think again. Yes, it isn't hard to do well but that doesnt mean there isnt alot of work involved. You have a group debate, readings and a learning log every week, a final paper and a novel to read. overall its just plain annoying and the material is boring.
Very great professor. extremely helpful. plus she gives study guides before each exam and cuts down the study guide to make it easier for her students. It is important to take notes in class. I only read the readings that were on the study guide still got an A. TAKE HER!!
I didn't think I'd like this course, but I ended up loving it. She is so sweet. TAKE HER.
Overall not a bad class. She graded the papers pretty easily, and as long as you answer all the questions on the weekly "learning logs" you'll get a 100% on them. Gives you a good study guide for each exam. Also I liked that she wasn't bias in any of her discussions, which my past WOMS professors have been. Nice change. Awesome professor
Awesome professor shes super cool and really chill. The class was really interesting and she offers extra credit. She is very understanding and let me turn in an assignment late when i forgot to do it. Attendance isnt mandatory but i would def go to take notes
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING CLASS AND PROFESSOR. I wish it could be mandatory for every student to take this course. First WOMS professor who was totally open to other opinions and was very easy to talk to. 6 short responses papers due on the readings, one simple group project and a midterm and final. Amazing class, and one of the best WOMS professors.
Laberge is seriously the best. I've already taken two classes with her , WOMS210 & WOMS 216 and got A's in both with very little effort. Short response papers which are graded so easily and two exams. She sends out a study guide before each test and its everything you need to know. Shes a great person and so helpful if you ever need anything
Her lectures are quite boring but her class is simple. She is fair and mostly your own opinion is used in response papers, which are easy grade boosters. One midterm and a final. She is nice and sincerely loves the subject. Good class for breadth requirement.
This class was not exactly an easy elective. The midterm exam was very difficult. However, the assignments were easy and boost your grade. Also, extra credit opportunity was given to add 5 points on to your grade (a must).
There is no incentive to pay attention in this class. She posts the powerpoints online and allows laptops open in class. All you need to do is show up and study, and do the assignments. That being said, she is the nicest professor ever. She will let you turn something in late if you talk to her.
Laberge is an absolute sweetheart and genuinely cares for her students. She is very passionate about her work and it shows in class. The class is pretty easy, only two tests, six short papers, sakai assignments, and one group project. AND an opportunity for extra credit! My only complaint is that the powerpoint slides were heavy with information.
The class is interesting but very reading-intensive. Lots of essays to read from the Gender Violence book, & there is a total of 5 response papers due by the end of the semester... In addition to Learning Logs due thru Sakai each week. So quite a bit of work, but the content isn't too tough. Also have to read the novel Black & Blue, 300 pages long
Many assignments: Weekly learning logs, 5 response papers, and a group presentation. They are not much difficult and are graded easily. You are given 5% of extra credit, which is generous. However, exams (midterm, final 25% each) are beyond difficult: multiple, short answers, identification. She helps a lot though whenever you ask. Participate much
This class was not an easy one credit elective. The videos were interesting, but the paper assigned at the end was long and she did not give us much time to complete it.
Amazing class!!! There is one group project, but it's not a big deal. My favorite class I've taken so far!
Marie Laberge is such an understanding professor. She understands that life happens and is flexible to your needs. She is a very kind woman and gives you all the resources you need to get an A in the class.
Professor Laberge was fantastic. The material sometimes was difficult. There are weekly reading. There are weekly small writings. If you do all the work though, you will get the A. Tests material is displayed in the presentations and professor offers a study guide which helps. There are five optional extra credit points. DO THEM. Overall, fantastic
Laberge was great. What I loved about her class was if you didn't do well on the Exams (which tended to be difficult) you had many ways to make up for it. She gives an extra credit opportunity that adds 5 points to your final grade ITS A MUST. You have 2 exams, 1 group presentation, and a couple easy response papers. I suggest studying the pps.
She's very nice! Lectures aren't particularly interesting and there is an attendance policy. 4 papers, but you can choose when you write them. Homework is easy points. 3 exams and she tells you exactly what will be on them. If you don't study, you won't do well, but she gives good extra credit! There is one group project, but it isn't difficult.
Laberge grades pretty easily. Towards the end of the semester, I put in significantly less effort and still got good grades. She outlines most of the readings in the powerpoints (which get posted on Sakai) so reading isn't necessary. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, so definitely do that.
One semester long group project, 5 short reading papers, 2 exams, 10 online responses. Easy grader, gives study guides for exams, gives time in class for project. Attendance mandatory, 3 skips allowed, but she reads directly off slides so it's easy to zone out or discreetly do other work. All assignments are short.
I personally liked Professor Laberge. She was extremely knowledgeable about the material. It's really easy if you do the minimum work like you don't need to do all the readings just the ones for the weekly short papers. Do the study guides & show up to class.
Dr. Laberge is kind and flexible. The class material really wasn't that hard but it was easy to get tripped up on the exams (midterm and a final) because of the language, so study. She has a lot of course work, 5 papers and a group project. However she offers an extra credit paper as well. She does take attendance.
Definitely knows what she's talking about, but there's so much info on the slides that it's really hard to tell what's necessary. Response papers are easy and quick (opinion-based), everything is easy besides the exams. Just got the midterm study guide... it's a lot to memorize that I don't remember, and I always pay rapt attention in class.
Prof laberge is a very caring professor. She wants you to succeed and do well on assignments. There is a lot of material in her lectures so don't even try to write everything down (she gives you the slides). There are 5 papers, 1 group project, and 2 exams, as well as hw. It's pretty straight forward and definitely would recommend! Go to class!
I had never planned on taking a WOMS course until it was the only class that course that fit in my schedule, that being said, this course with Dr. Laberge was very enjoyable. I learned a lot and never found myself bored with the material. The response papers can be tedious but she isn't a tough grader. Exams are difficult but an A is doable.
Professor Laberge is by far one of my favorite professors. She's passionate about the material and has very clear grading criteria. There's 5 papers, 2 exams, 1 group project, and weekly hw assignments. If you do the reading and go to class you'll be fine. Her tests are from the power points so definitely look at them! Also she gives extra credit.
There are a couple of writing assignments and readings you have to complete, but the professor grades leniently. She puts all of her slides online and gives you study guides, so as long as you review those, you should do well on the tests. She usually offers an extra credit assignment (which adds 5% to your FINAL GRADE), so make sure you do it.
Lectures are pretty boring, little participation, you just sit there. 5 response essays (3 pages each) on the readings, weekly learning logs, and group project/paper. There is opportunity for 5 points of EC which is nice. Exams are straightforward and she gives a really good study guide. Her slides are online but she takes attendance every class.
Really nice teacher, not a hard grader at all. Just do the work and you will get an A.
I had her for WOMS/PHIL 210. You don't have to do any of the readings outside class unless if you're writing an essay on it. The extra credit is %20 of your grade so definitely do that. Very easy grader, if you put in any effort at all you'll get an A. Nice person, dry lecturer, but the slides are online.
The class itself is pretty boring but Dr. Laberge is at least a nice professor. Decent amount of work given for a breadth class, but she grades very leniently and gives extra credit, which is a plus. Not a bad option for a non-history Group B class.
As long as you do the work you will do fine in the class. I did not read at all unless it was for the essays. The class itself is actually pretty interesting and the group project is not bad at all. As long as you study the study guides for the exam, you will get an A.
Very easy to get an A in this class. Attend the lectures and take notes. The group project is very easy. She provides a huge extra credit opportunity. She grades the response papers and learning logs very easily. Do the study guides for the midterm and final and you'll easily pass. Very easy A and interesting course!
Graded on one exam and the final, 5 response papers throughout the semester (super short and easy), group presentation, a weekly reflection (also super short and easy) and attendance. The study guides for exams are intimidating but if you prepare you can easily get an A. She also offers extra credit. Very possible to get an A with minimal effort
Professor Laberge is such a knowledgeable woman. Her lectures tend to get a bit boring so bring extra work. Get the books because you will use them. She's pretty lenient and easy going.
Prof. Laberge is a nice woman who obviously cares about her field. She is a pretty lenient grader and handles the material very sensitively. The class is lecture heavy and you definitely need to read the assigned texts in order to complete the work. Overall, this class was fairly easy. She was also very accommodating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Laberge is so kind and a really good professor. This class requires a ton of reading and the lectures are heavy and theres 5 papers and a group project so it definitely is a lot of work, however if youre interested in the subject its not bad. Shes super understanding and is not a harsh grader, so as long as you do the work youll be fine.
She is an amazing teacher. It says to get textbooks because this class is heavily based on readings but I honestly just used the slides for each homework and test. Def don't need the textbook. About 5 response papers due and a couple of discussion posts. class says synchronous but there are only like 6 actual zooms. She is definitely a good prof
Professor Laberge is an amazing professor. Course content was relevant and interesting. She makes an effort to make sure everyone understands the content. Class discussions were the best part of the class, so much to talk about with so little time. There are 3 open book exams, a few reading responses (1-2 pages), and 5 discussion posts.
Take this class! You have a learning log assignment every week which are easy and apply to real life situations. There are few tests and if you fill out the study guide from the PowerPoints notes and study that you will be fine. One group project and response papers are based off reading from textbook.
Definitely interesting material, and Professor Laberge shows passion for the subject. Fairly easy on the grading. Textbooks are a need for this class, and you'll have a good amount of homework and papers, but their all pretty straight forward and easy. Professor Laberge is a great teacher and I definitely suggest taking this class!
This was an enjoyable class by a really solid professor. She clearly cares a lot about her subject. She is very open about her personal beliefs and how that relates to religions, so keep that in mind. There is also weekly writing assignments and readings. Even though I disagree with some of her personal beliefs she is a good professor.
She's an easy grader, but the tests were hard. 4 papers over the whole course, only one group project and reading logs weekly. Sweet lady but the whole class is her talking and reading notes.
You have weekly learning logs (take about 15 minutes), 4 response papers (1-2 pages), and 2 exams. Marie is super sweet, teaches well, and is. good prof overall.
This was a great class. There were learning logs, 4 papers, readings, and a group project. Really all you have to do is show up and do the work. Bring some extra work because the lectures get boring sometimes. Make a couple friends in the class and do the exam study guides together. Extra credit is helpful also. I finished with over a 100.
I loved Laberge. She is exceptionally kind and understanding and will work with you to help you get the best possible grade. There is a short reflection paper (1pg) due every week. She gives very helpful study guides for the exams. If you show up and use the study guides, you will be set. If you need an extension, ASK, she will most likely say yes!
A lot of work. There were learning logs every week. 6 papers and 3 exams. Spread out nicely tho. Also a project. All of the work is very straightforward and she is a very easy grader. It is lecture heavy but Laberge is witty and makes it enjoyable. Study guides are also very helpful for the exams. I would recommend if you do not mind busywork.
A lot of work, but it's pretty manageable and spread out nicely. Both Prof. Laberge and her TA were really nice people and lenient graders. The class is very lecture heavy but fairly interesting. Attendance is mandatory but you get 3 free absences. The exams are easy IF you use the study guide, make sure to utilize them.
Dr. Laberge made this course one of my overall favorite classes. You will need to do learning logs, 4 response papers, a group presentation, and two exams. Lectures can be heavy with material, but her radiated positivity makes up for it. She is a very easy grader so I say give it your all in your assignments and you'll get a 100% each time.
Her lectures can get boring. Be prepared to have to type fast during class -- she flies through slides but they're provided online. You'll get a 100 on all of the assignments as long as they're completed and done decently. The exams were easy if you studied at least a little. Even if you do poorly on the exam, you can still get an A or B
I had no interest in taking this class when it was assigned to me but it ended up being one of my favorites. She made lectures very interesting and while there is a lot of assignments outside class she is a very easy grader and her class is an easy A.
Grading was very easy, class was very interesting.
Easy class to pass if you come. Lectures can be a little fast/boring, so bring some extra work to do and look at the slides after class. If you fill out the study guides she gives for the exams, you'll do well. She also gives hints for exams when not a lot of people show up for class, so if you attend frequently, that'll give you a bonus.
Solid take if you need a breadth
She is an incredibly nice woman and the class is very easy. Not anything of particular depth covered, but the breadth of religions covered I really appreciated.
