Appears friendly. But when you make appointments with her, she barely keeps the appointments. When you send her emails, she never replies. So you can only ask her questions in the class. After class, you have no luck.

Looks can be decieving. She's easy to talk to, but horrible when it comes to marking, teaching etc. Impossible to ever get perfect marks with her.she thinks that something has to be wrong with your work always.Never admits that shes wrong.Dont take her!
The course is easy but she is not.she only explains the definitions but not the programming logics.
Very unclear in her lectures. Her tests are very difficult. She is pretty helpful if you ask but she usualy doesnt even give you an answer because she doesnt know. You can make up your mark by doing well in the labs though which are worth alot.

Failed me twice, although I understand material 95%. Studied 80+hours for final and did 3x work required for final project, handed in all assignments. All I did was miss classes, but not that she can teach anyways. Did not miss any exams or quizes.

WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! Most of the time you can barely understand the words that are coming from her mouth!!!!! I think of her as a mixture of a japanese person from the Valley, every second word is either "like" or "ummmm" SO STUPID!
Can't understand what she's saying. BORING class! In a 3hr. class, she talks for 2hrs bout the ch. in powerpoint slides, then only 5 min break. Doesn't hand out assigns til after break, never time to finish. Have to spend time doing them out of class. Easy class though, unless u can't use computers.

Probably the worst teacher in Canadian Education!!! Marie has no ethics when it comes to teaching, she is confused and confuses her students. Very "AMBIGIOUS" in her questions and tends to ask you to use search engines for help since she has nooooo idea. A total waste of my time and money.

She doesn't know how to pace herself. She spends far to long on notes that she copies straight from the textbook and then gives very little time to do questions. She also loves to repeat "there you go" every class multiple times. It can get VERY irritating.
Her class is boring. But if are good with microsoft office, this is a GPA booster class.
She talks alot which tends to get boring. Overall her assigments are easy, and she gives you more than enough time to finish them. Her tests are straight forward.

Nice teacher, helpful, but has a tendency to go off on her students in front of the whole class. Homework is easy, but can be time consuming. Study for the tests, as the chapters are long, and the tests are on multiple chapters.

Teacher talks too much, very hard to pay attention to lectures because of voice and accent. Thinks she can force students to do things. Rants often about students not showing up. Watch her, because sometimes she will mark your grade as late even when it wasn't.

This woman is horrible. Half the class dropped out because she is completely useless at teaching. She really doesn't care if you pass and will only help those who already know what they're doing. Avoid her at all cause and take anyone else. Trust me or you'll regret ever wanting to learn programming.

Waste of my money! If you do get her as a teacher I would recommend to withdraw from the course. I have never had a teacher I have disliked as much as her. I'm typing this while in her class and looking around I am not the only one that thinks this. More than half the class is surfing the internet or bored.
Horrible professor, literally. Every assignment has to be in "her format", even when it is obvious that we completely understand the concept(s). Also will not accept e-mailed assignments, makes us print out everything which is a complete waste of paper. Does not slow down in lectures, does not know how to teach period

I took her class to learn C# but she did not teach me at all. She does not assist with the tutorials, her powerpoint is straight out of the textbook and her english is bad which makes her powerpoint and class instruction often confusing and wrong. Don't expect to learn because she does not teach. You can expect to be ignored when asking for help.
Her accent annoys the crap out of me, it's hard to pay attention to her because her english is nowhere near university-proffesor good. Going to class is pretty much useless, EVERYTHING is straight out of the textbook. Technically it is an easy class (content wise), but it's SOOOO boring i just ended up dropping it. Everything she teaches is 100% from the textbook. If you do as much as possible ahead of time she won't have anything else planned. I left 45 minutes in a 3 hour class almost EVERY week. However she doesn't know most of the content and she talks so much, and is very repetitive. Avoid if possible.
Has like class spend most of class like writing programs straight from book, but gets like mad when we go to quick and don't study the code, yet she like assigns us up to 4 like programs to do by end of class and doesn't get why EVERYONE like ignores her during her lecture and like works on the assignment ahead of time.
Says she doesn't want to bore us and makes her lectures really short, but in doing so leaves out a lot of info. She expects us to learn most of the programming by doing 2-4 assignments per class. Because they take so long and are due before the end of class we usually end up typing the code out form the textbook without knowing what we're typing.

She writes her lectures on an overhead projector and doesn't even write them in the proper order. Because of this, class is mandatory because you can only get the notes in class. Her exercises in class and on assingments are easy, then the exams are hard. She will assume you know things because she's to lazy to quickly cover them. Accent is bad too
I thought i will do well in this class since i knew basic logic stuff but she made it so hard. Never hands out assignments back and you got to do quizzes without knowing how you're doing with the assignments. Examples she gives in her class are easy and only picks the one that has answers at the back and hard ones for assignments.
Having done most of the content of this class, I sailed through this class without any difficulty. You will be taking a lot of notes in her class.(most of the class time). Im writing this while in her class and the first day of class I literally fell asleep. Lectures are an hour long, sometimes 2 hours long, would never take this teacher again
She does know her stuff, but reads right off the slides. Gives assignments every class. I did enjoy her class though. One weird thing though, she closes her eyes when facing the class during a lecture
Absolute horrible, if you had to take this class your screwed because shes absolutely horrible make sure you take another teacher. And also she has a very thick accent so her teachings are horrible BUT she does give cheat sheets for her tests. But I recommend not taking this class unless you have to.

Friendly person as long as you don't do idiotic things in class,but make sure to put the effort in studying for this course. Make sure to regularly do the assignments and review your notes, so you do not fall behind. It's an okay course, if you put in the effort.
She is unclear of her expectations from the student. It is difficult to understand her due to her lack of communication with the student, she usually shuts you down when you try to ask questions and has random rants complaining about the responsibility that comes with being a teacher.
Sometimes there will be random rants of how students write really messy and it becomes hard for here to mark their assignments. Another common rant is that students should't go to Tim Hortons because the line is too long. These rants last about 30mins and then she'll rush the notes. C'mon man!
She is pretty bad and don't expect her to help you that much. The chapters are difficult to understand and she has hard quiz's. The thing I recommend to is study straight from the textbook and and take as much as notes as possible. You need to put the effort outside her class in order to comprehend what she is talking about. Honestly, she is one of the worst instructors that I've ever met in my entire life she doesn't know how to even talk so what do you think about teaching the course. Highly recommended to find another professor..
Marie Lichimo covers all the material needed to pass the course with an A. Her speech can be unclear at times but her lectures are on point. She may seem harsh to students who don't understand the material. Don't take it the wrong way, she wants you to pass and maybe she wants less work for herself when marking your work.
INFO1112 is based around C# programming. You need to read and practice in order to learn it. She provides all the information you'll need and will be there to answer questions but you will have to take it upon yourself after class to do the homework or else you won't do so good. She can be a little unclear at times, but overall is decent.

Lab every class which is copy and paste. It doesn't help you learn. You might as well not show up considering you won't be able to pay attention to her incredibly boring lecture that is word for word what the slides say that you could just read at home. Takes 1 month+ to mark things and I've been waiting over a month for a response to 4+ emails.
Her lectures are pretty useless and she takes FOREVER to mark assignments. She's a very tough marker when it comes to assignments, but she's the most generous marker with exams and quizzes. I was clueless on the written portion of the midterm and still got 98% because she accepted my nonsense answers. If you fully read the book, you'll do well

This teacher takes way too long to grade assignments/ labs. You can make the same mistake multiple times because you wont know what you are doing wrong until 2 weeks later by when you have already submitted 3 other assignments. And to make it worse, she does not explain how she would like the assignments to be submitted.

She teaches INFO1214 like it is an English class. Docks marks for minor language difference. Avoid taking this class. She can be nice, but Is largely unconcerned with her students and how her grading and teaching pace affects them, her anal grading criteria, inability to accept valid criticism/change teaching style. I am not a biased reviewer.

Took a coding class with her and didn't get docked a single point for my code but instead got constantly docked for my punctuation on submission word documents. Do I need to say more?
2012. Very unhelpful. Impatient and unenthusiastic about her job. Refused to help with a software error. Had to get help from a classmate instead. Doesn't explain things in class. Just says read the textbook. She missed a class once. Had to do my final out in Richmond. Basically had to teach myself to get a good mark.

Everything is done on the computer except the tests. If you're used to coding with the computer with some help of suggestions, you won't have that during the test. Every class has a laboratory assignment to do. Each lab will require intensive documentation.

Had in INFO 1112, was bad, but passable. I dunno why I thought it was a good idea to take Discrete Math with her. She is always late giving marks&feedback. She reads slides,& doesn't teach you anything. Talks in circles, doesn't nail anything down. If I didn't take PHIL 1150 before this, I'd have been lost from day 1. I was lost from day 3.
This teacher is so terrible. Her lectures are copy pasted from the textbook. Her quizzes are so ridiculous. If you want feedback from her good luck. Before the final exam she marked 4 labs out of 12 labs and 2 assignments out of 6. You don't know how well you do in labs so the labs are blindly done. Terrible teacher I beg you to find another prof.

For an intro course, was hoping to learn c++ from her, Google is your teacher. Lazy marker, no feedback. A disgrace to KPU, read all the other reviews
This is not a hard course if you study C++ basics ahead of time and can follow instructions. If anything, she spends way too much time repeating herself. That said, she really REALLY does not understand how long coding and documentation can take. Her tests are brutally long and homework can take forever. If you can't code fast, look elsewhere.

You want 200+ slides a class for discrete math she won't actually explain or let you try to solve problems in class? You want to never know your marks, ever? Doesn't break up the asgnmts into small chunks. 1 covers 2 ch.'s and very time-consuming, Quizzes and Midterms for ch.'s that homework hasn't been given for practice. Quiz 1 covered ch.1-3 but she didn't give hw for ch.3 so I got a bad grade; now we have a midterm covering ch.4 and no homework to practice. 100-200 slides per ch. to read.
A headache. It's all PowerPoint slides. When she tries to explain something, she rambles, hovers her mouse all over the screen, and points at parts of the notes and examples. It's a mess. I stopped tuning in for lectures and taught myself with the text. Most of her exam questions are designed to trick you--total artificial difficulty. 100% avoid.

Reads off slides without adding value, and requires class attendance, so be ready to be self taught. Grades are returned late. The only value in her classes are getting hints to the tests. Will remove marks for not being precise with your answers even though the the idea and result is correct.

Marie Lichimo was my instructor for INFO 1214 at KPU. She cannot explain concepts clearly. She just read the slides given by the textbook publisher which was completely not value-added for teaching. With that, I simply watched videos on Youtube to understand these concepts myself. She graded all the work very slowly. Her English was poor.
I must say that she is the worst professor in my all semester. she does not even know how to teach and how to grade and only knows how to read the slides not to explain. I must say no one should take this professor. they must take drop must no take this professor

If you take a course from her, prepare to learn the entire course from the textbook, because she will not teach you a single thing. I'm not sure how she's qualified to be teaching tech courses, because she doesn't understand her own course material. Don't bother asking questions in class, because she doesn't know the answer.
She completed our maths course just by reading alone and not writing a single thing wow, must like reading . She and Mayyad are twin sister i.e. zero knowledge to give to students and then expect them to be genius in their exams and quizzes. all she did in class which I remember was saying likeee aaa likeeee aaa ........ likeeee aaa !!!!
The worst professor I have had since registering. Does not teach or explain any concepts, just reads off the slides given as course default. Terrible at explaining, constantly stuttering (see the reviews citing "ahh, like, ummmm, like"). Zero help outside of class, impossible office hours. this prof is terrible, she doesn't mark on time (took till the end of the semester to get back assignment/lab marks), she will also remove marks because she doesn't like your variable names in your assignment. She writes "you may include" in the requirements page which doesn't mean its optional it means its mandatory. don't take this prof for C++.
As she gave assignment and after grading there were at least 4 questions she mark you did wrong question, like she gave page 123#5 and if person did the same, but her words were wring question and gave zero for that and repeatedly fir all 4 assignments. Class is easy to understand, self study everything but she marks right answers wrong and takes marks off for no reason. If your answer is right but you did not explain your answer 100% the way she wants you will get marks taken off. She wants answers to be explained as if she was in elementary School. Average midterm mark was a fail.
Take the course by this prof. only if you have background in the subject. She deducts marks for even minor linguistic mistakes and you have to explain every step. You will have to attempt the quiz without even knowing the score in assignment and She always delays the marking. If you don't pay attention in lecture, then get ready to loose marks.

Avoid this professor if you can - their lectures are dull and they're not helpful outside of class. However, I found Unstuck ai and some practice tests really useful for preparing for exams. The workload was manageable with some self-study.
Discrete Math is tough topic, but professor explaining every single possible mistake in quizes or assignments. not that bad
Lectures are Boring, nothing to learn. Prof go word to word from slides and nothing exciting about teaching methods. For Assignments, just use the steps and language from notes same you will get the good grade, if you try to use your own words you will get bad grades
Extremely bad at teaching the material. One of the hardest courses. Do not take this professor for discrete math - if you do, prepare to lock in HARD. You will need to do your absolute, absolute best and no amount of ChatGPT will save you here. Avoid this professor in this course at all costs. -THE DINGLER

You will lose marks for the smallest things, she just reads off the slides all class and thinks everyone understands. Take with any other teacher is possible the class is easy she just makes it impossible to pass
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH THIS TEACHER. She is the worst of all. No one can understand her lectures becasue of the way she talks and teaches. She tries to undermine your eager and reduce your confidence during the course. You cannot ask for revision on your grades. It is what it is. She does not give any feedback to you.
