Exxelent teacher! Hard to fail her class, she prints out the notes most of the time, and her tests are easy multiple choice questions. Good sence of humor, funny and very qualified for teaching. THE ENTIRE CLASS OF 25 LOVED HER, THERE WASNT A SINGLE PERSON WHO DIDNT FIND HER EASY AND INTERESTING!!!!

Easy teacher, helps alot when needed funny nad tries to help her class as much as she can. Test are asy she tells you wht to study for in test and gives you back all of your test to study for the final. Had a better experience than in Highschool biology learned the material.

Marie Simms successfully executes an excellent and rare teaching style. She is very helpful and understanding. Will issue extra credit when needed. Exam reviews are extremely useful in passing the exams. Good to take in the Summer!!

Some students took this teacher for internet classes, what they fail to realize is that webct courses are self taught, there is no contact with the instructor.Due to their inexperience, Dr.Simms treated everyone professionally, even went out of her way to give additional notes, those WHO SAID VERY UNORGANIZED DID NOT COME TO CLASS.

Dr. Simms was an extremely fair teacher and went out of her way to be encouraging and supportive throughout the class. Science is definitely my weak point and she made the second half of Biology bearable. She is an entertaining professor and has a great sense of humor. I would recommend taking her, either online or in person.

I have nothing but good things to say about this professor. On a scale of 1 to 10, she gets a 100. She makes her class fun, but yet manages to teach in a way which students learn and remember the information. I highly recommend her, because she is such a peoples person, and always in a great mood, now what a lucky man her husband is!

She used to be nice last semester, I don't know what crawled up her rear end this semester. I guess it's because she's approaching 50 this year, which is usually when they start going through a midlife crisis. She said I'm a mean girl, but she should really take a look at herself for a change. I heard Dr. Merit is easier although very boring.

She's a great teacher. Reviews r exactly like the tests. If u do them u will def pass the tests. U will pass the class easily if u do all the assignments online & actually do the test reviews. I took this course online during summer 1(5wk class)& passed w/ an "A". I would def refer her to another student. I'm taking her 1407 class during summer 2

Dr. Simms is an ANGEL sent to teach BIOLOGY.

I took Biol.1406 in fall of 2006, and Biol. 1407 in spring of 2007. I made A's in both courses. What does that tell you? Simplified- she is good. But be ready to do your part-STUDY!!!

Two ways to pass the class, do what ur suppose 2(take ALOT of notes, quizzes,labs, and tests) and be on her good side. If u can do that ur set, u can make an A

this proff is good if you are on her good side she def has fav apparantly i wasnt one bc of my grade lol but you have togo to class you miss out a lot if you dont and her lab tests were really hard if you need tutoring forget about her! she is not helpful!

This woman was so funny and nice. I loved this class. I would have taken her again if I could. Had lots of take home test and extra credit. She let me do a make up quiz two weeks after I had missed it. The in class test are pretty easy if you study but the take home test are really hard. She even drops a test. I would definitely recommend her.

I love Dr. Simms. The semester that I took with her was one of the best ever. She can be a little rough around the edges, so if you don't have a good sense of humor, then don't take her. She is honest and to the point. I personally find that to be wonderful!

Taking this class online can be hard especially if you are not a self motivated student. She can come across rude and slow to respond to emails. Just do your best and if you have trouble send her email and PLEASE wait patiently. She doesn't have a problem with dropping you if you get on her bad side. READ everything even if says read chap. 1 & 2.

I always hated biology and it was really not one of my best subjects but she made it understandable. passed class with a b. you have to study but other than that she is not hard at all. defff taking her again. great teacher! really! be nice to her and try and you should do well!

To be sincere Dr. Simms is a good professor. SHE REALLY HELPED ME through the class. She is very considerate and willing to work with students. I honestly don't know about the on-line class but I am quite sure if you brought it to her her notice, she will definately adjust Overall, I will RECOMMEND her to any student. She's easy! She gives you the notes on the overhead screen. COPY IT AND MEMORIZE IT! Because 90% of the notes she gives you is on the her test. The rest is by reading. Plus, she drops 1 test (not the lab exam). The lab exam is hard and easy, depending how much you memorize the lab book. However, DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE! Take her in person.

I love Dr. Simms! She is sooo nice and if you miss a day or have a problem turning in an assignment she always helps you out when you just talk to her and tell her whats going on, this is my favorite professor, but te class is HARD like the material is in general, but she will help you out.

Class was so much fun! Dr. Simms is able to keep your attention the whole class period and wanting to come back for more! I took her summer session I and it was a 4 hr. course. Very intense! Passed with a B! Her test can be a bit challenging but nothing you can not prepare for! Most of all be ready to work in groups on labs and make new friends!

Dr. Simms is one of the best instructors we have in HCC.She is very nice and helpful.I took her online this summer. She responseded to all my emails immediately when she online or later if she is not online. Labs were inclass and each time a student askes her question from the text book in the lab she response not minding at all. I recommend her.

Mrs.Simms is a very helpfull but is slow on grading I have taken four test and I only got one grade back and the semester is almost over. I recommend you take her in person and not online

Wow I can't believe all the hate on here! I took the online course and did just fine. She provided reviews for the tests which correlated with the actual test. The online quizzes were easy. Google is golden. She's a nice albeit kind of kooky lady sometimes but it worked for me. Don't believe the hype, you can do well in her class. Geesh people....

Simms is one of the best teacher. Her tests are easy if you look over the notes and read the chapters. She's funny and she gives us 15-20 minutes for a break during class. I would recommend this class. She is really amazing and will help with anything you need. If you wanna pass take this teacher.Extremely easy. Im currently in her class.

She is very good bio teacher. She knows her stuff. Her test are based on the book and notes. They are not hard as long as you do he reading. I took her online class and it was quite easy. If you get bad grades it's because you're not studying.

I love this teacher she is the best, I took her at prairie view for anatomy and physiology, she easy all you have to is study, and also she can help you with your personal issues just talk to her and she will help you trust me, she has helped me before and I really love her , she will advice you tell you your wrongs and help you.

So Prof Simms is awesome. I took her online course that consisted of going in once a week for labs. She's easy. Laid back. Loves biology with a passion! Study study study! We only went to class for labs so she didn't "teach" much so if you're not a good person studying on your own then don't take her otherwise do so!

I took her this summer for 5 weeks. She was very helpful in what she taught and you do have to study up to some point but if you come to class and take notes and actually pay attention you will pass. she grades on a curve. She made biology interesting for me.

I also took her 5-week summer course. We went in everyday from 12-4, but we rarely stayed past 3:00 (lets out early a lot). Overall very good teacher. Her Class is pretty easy, just do what she says, take notes in class & you'll be fine. I passed with an A, & I HATE science. She does have a very "blunt" personality that takes a while to get used to

Professor has a great sense of humor that incorporates into her well organized lectures. The greatest of her teaching ability overshadows when students engage critically from the information of the text. Your only going to get what you put into your relationship with the professor. Very helpful in bringing clarity to your confusions.

The class was hybrid kind and I learnt a lot by studying on my own. She gives review that serves as guide for studies. She is nice and friendly to all class members and very helpful if need be. She also has good sense of humor.I highly recommend her.

I took a full-semester on-sight bio with a lab. Honestly, She is an excellent professor. She's so passionate about what she teaches and she's so funny, which is what keeps you engaged. Her lectures are crystal clear and tests are average; some easy/not so easy. Like any other class you have to study. Seriously though take her, you won't regret it

I took this course to freshen up prior to going into my APII course. Dr. Simms made everything quite simple and her excitement about the subject and teaching really shows. It kept me engaged. My course ended with her Dec2013 and I just completed a micromester course and it definitely helped. Id take her again.

This professor was very interesting and gave good notes She love teaching science. Her class was fun but you still need to pay attention, she grades very fair and wants each student to do well. Her test can be little difficult, if you are not good with word play and you don't study then you should think about this before attending her class

I took this class as a hybrid. I really loved Ms. Simms. She makes you laugh and really gets you to listen to what she's saying. If you pay attention while she gives her examples and ask questions if you don't understand, she will make sure to make it clear for you. She allowed us to use one page of notes for the final. The tests were tough!

Her class made me ROFL. I took the hybrid class, and she's not the best, but adequate at explaining everything. Her final exam review was helpful but the other reviews were not. Got A's in all test except the first... with a 54. SO START OFF STRONG :D :D :D

Dr. Simms was absolutely AMAZING!! She made my summer biology class extremely fun and informational. I found myself wanting to go to her class everyday and stay the whole time. She was absolutely hilarious and truly cared about her students learning the material. If you have to take Biology take her class, you won't regret it!!

I am taking her class right now in-person and she is so entertaining! She teaches through powerpoints and will tell you what bullet to take notes over. So when test time comes around, if you review your notes, you are guaranteed to make an A! 2/4 tests are "take-home" tests so low scorers can bring their grades up. This class has NO HOMEWORK! :D

Awesome Teacher, I took the winter semester that was 4 weeks long, tests are not too hard, had everything organized and clear on eagle online. She is very funny with a very kind heart. I definitely recommend her!!!!

Professor Simms made biology fun and interesting. She strives to make sure every students understands the concept at hand. There were many laughs in this class. Her tests are about 80 questions long, multiple choice and true/false. 2 lab exams are fill in the blank, you either know it or you don't. She is very helpful and would stay after to assist

Dr. Simms is a great teacher with great humor. I took her for A&P1 and A&P2 and got A's in both courses. You have to pay attention in class, and study for the exams. Sometimes she will throw a wild card with a test, but if you study and participate in her class, she will take care of you. Loved taking her, and will miss having her. STUDYINGPASSING

Took her hybrid class she taught well for the lab but with all the extra time we had with her I wish she could have lectured some. But the lecture part was independent. She is very nice and understand. Very helpful and funny

Professor Simms was a great lab instructor. Her quizzes were fairly easy. On the day of a quiz she might be 10-15 minutes late but it's to give us some time to study.
