Great teacher

A strict teacher but fair, no curve. Organized lecture but lots of hw. Tests were not too hard. Only recommend to students who will do good amount of hw and attend class regularly.

A fair, if hard, teacher. During the couse of the class she made several changes to the grading policy, all of which had the potential to benefit the students. She is a picky grader, but I also found that she is generous with partial credit.

She will correct your homework and return it with feed back along with written out answers. Test are based on Homework which you have the correct answers too. She also explains exactly how she likes to have proofs written out. Great Teacher!!!!!

This professor doesn't just look for the answer when she's grading, but the procedure. Doing all the homework is the best way to prepare for her tests and going to her office hours is a plus. She may seem intimidating at first, but if you give her a chance, you may find her to be a good teacher who explains the concepts very well.

The best math professor at SJSU. Her lectures are always well-structured and clear. She is extremely helpful during her office hours. Take her classes if you want to really learn!

She is the best Math teacher I ever had. She is so organized and gives a quiz at the end of each chapter, mostly out of the textbook. She is very helpful. She does not like when students come late to class.

Dr. Blockus is the best professor in the world! She is very clear, extremely organized, each lecture is very well structured and presented. You must attend class, do the homework, and engage yourself with the material(as you shoould as a mature college student), you will have the best experience with Dr. Blockus. Better than I expected given the ratings on here. Clear and organized lectures and gives lots of examples. Do the HW because the tests and quizzes consist of HW problems. Her grading is tough though, no curves and little partial credit if any. Very technical when docking mistakes. Recommend to take her if you're prepared to work hard.

I can see why people give her bad ratings based on her grading, but other than that she is a really good professor that emphasizes the main points well. She may seem intimidating at first but if you go to her office hours and get to know her she is not bad at all. Lots of time must be devoted to the class though in order to do well. Recommend!

Dr. Blockus is a great teacher who knows the material well and really wants to help you learn. She's especially helpful during office hours. Be careful: no calculators, no extra credit, no grade curve. You will need to put in exceptional effort to get better than a C. Tests are fair but quite challenging.

Tests come from homework problems. Do the homework and you'll pass. Don't do homework and you'll fail. Strict grader, no notes or calculators; but her tests and quizzes help students learn better than any other professor. Best math prof. at SJSU!

Extremely good lecturer - she covers topics completely and clearly so you know what you're doing. Homework (not mandatory) and quizzes are easy to pass. You must study for tests/final to obtain a decent grade.

One of those classes where if you attend and take time to do the work (not collected), you will pass. She is clear in her lectures and expectations. The only complaint I have is that she can be a tough grader. I would get 5/20 points on some quizzes for small mistakes. I made sure to ace all my midterms, so I'm not too worried.

Pretty easy class, math wise. She gives a good lecture if you take notes all the hw is easy. Hw is not collected but helps a lot for the midterms all the problems are based of the hw. Quiz every wed on chapters from hw pretty simple. Two midterms. Decent class might require studying once you his proofs.

She is SOOO BORING! It is impossible to stay awake in class. Tests and quizes are hard but come from homework and notes. Doesn't ever collect homework which is horrible. This class is based on weekly quizes and 2 tests + the final. She does not curve!

Tough teacher. Make it a priority to attend all classes and do the homework (even though it is never collected). Her lectures are heavy with information. She usually starts class 5 before and doesn't stop writing until 2-3 minutes after class is over. She is very helpful and approachable. Funny if you can stay awake :)

Don't expect this class to be an easy A. It takes a lot of time and work to pass, but I find it entertaining and I kind of like it. two midterms, quizzes every wednesday, no curve. Strongly believes that you deserve the grade you get. Optional homework assignments, but very helpful when it comes to midterms. Take her if you want to learn.

A passionate teacher who loves teaching. She is very clear and concise in her lectures. This class was definitely not easy but if you put in the effort to study and do the homework, you will do well in the course. Overall, Dr. Blokus is an awesome professor and I would definitely take her again given the opportunity.

Dr. Blockus is a really good professor. The material is challenging, but she helps you understand it and she's always in here office if you need help. I go to her office every week and she's so helpful. Quizzes are easy! You have to study for tests, but it's from the homework, which isn't required. Take her if you're willing to put in the work.

This professor is really clear and helpful in class and office hours. Her lectures are a bit boring, but you learn so much. Her quizzes are easy and they are based off the homework so those should be perfect. Her test are a bit more challenging, but if you follow her lectures and do the homework your overall grade should be a B or higher.

Easy professor. If you do homework, you can get A in class. Everything in quiz and test comes from homework. Quizzes every week, but midterms have similar questions as those quizzes. You can actually manage to get full marks on every quiz and midterms(like I did).

It's good if your class has a few people who ask questions about any tough homework proofs, because she will elucidate the solutions in class before moving on to the day's agenda. She doesn't collect homework, but you should practice them anyway. She will pass out a quiz every week or so. Final is cumulative.

Very clear lectures. Goes over everything you need to know for quizzes and tests. Make sure you know your discrete math; it really makes things easier to understand in the class. Study every week.

She is a great teacher in that her lectures are clear and concise. She'll always answer your questions during office hours and class time. Quizzes weekly, usually 2 tests and a final, so always study for this class! She is a very harsh grader, though, so I would make sure to really be on top of your work in this class.
