Classic beauty with style & beautiful auburn hair. Oh, yeah EXCELLENT prof!!!
Worth the wait to take in the SUMMER! Best of all the genetics profs!!!
Great Prof and a hot cookie
The best professor I've ever encountered throughout my college career.

One of the best profs I have ever had. She made the class exciting and fun. She is a rare kind of professor.
terrible

Shes amazing, exciting, fun and explains every thing so well

Hart was cool - she always talked about what she was teaching, rather than simply reading you a powerpoint slide. She knows her stuff, and can communicate it to you effectivly.
She's great and happy and keeps you awake
Very excited about all things cellular. Talks faster than any human can write - Advise using Pitman shorthand or something to capture her in action. Loves to make you study from microfilm-size powerpoint slide printouts. Exams are almost all essay (many questions) good luck finishing in alloted time
good lord almighty, she teaches a good class
Gets very excited in lecture, it is quite obvious she enjoys what she is talking about. She is also my advisor and very helpful. You actually have to go to lecture b/c she does more than just read off the slides. She also gives you answers to the test in lecture. i like her

She is such an enthusiastic teacher that just being in class made you awake and happy! She is one of the reasons I became interested in biology to begin with!! Totally recommend her!
Cell is a rough class, but Dr. Hart makes it so much fun! She is so energetic and fun, and although she cruises through material, her class is a blast. I learned so much from cell bio and her enthusiasm helped so much. The best ever!
She's very fast-paced, so keep up! She's very helpful, so if you have problems take them up with her, not the TA. In gerneral, her TA's are idiots.
A lecturee you will like to meet. She fasr pace but easy
Wonderful teacher--I also have her for Research. If you go to her class you will do just fine with the tests. She does go quickly, but she also loves to have students come to her office with questions.
Hart is great and is so clear about answers to questions. She gives lots of generosity to those who attend lectures, you really have to go to do well in the class, but don't waste money on buying the text book. You wont need it!
Hart is a horrible lecturer. She goes at the speed of light and adds stupid extra comments that you dont need to know. Don't buy the book it won't help, and less you are a speed writer Hart almost made me switch my major.
Hart is an awesome professor. She does go fast, especially in her upper division classes, but hey, if you can't keep up maybe your not cut out for that field. She is one of the most if not the most knowlegable profs in the bio department. No one else is so enthusiastic or energetic in their teaching. She is always honest and will give advice.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED prof! Hart is always upbeat and energetic and she is willing to do whatever it takes for her students to understand... she teaches at a fast pace and going to lecture is necessary but She offers so much extra credit. I have never gotten higher than 85% on a test, but I ended up with an A in her class because of extra credit!
good prof, attend class on fridays, usually extra credit if a lot of people skip
she is best
You better have a good understanding of Biology before you think about taking this class.
A very nice lady. The class is very fast and covers a lot of information. The exams are rather difficult. I really enjoyed the class overall. Be careful of the TA you get for lab.
Very helpful and explains things well
A LOT of material is covered in this course....that's why it's difficult. Dr. Hart is great. Fast, but great. If you try and make an effort to improve, she notices and will give you credit for it. Many ways to make up for lost points, too.
Dr. Hart is an amazing professor. She talks very fast when lecuring and covers a lot of material, but will slow down if someone asks her too. Very knowledgable in all things biology. Her TA's are horrible though. Tests can be difficult. Very willing to explain anything you don't understand either after class or during office hours.
Dr. Hart is an excellent professor. She knows biology really well. It is hard to get used to her speed, because she does lecture really fast. Her tests are only on what is gone over in class and what is on the power point slides. She gives extra credit if there aren't a lot of people at lecture. I would definitely recommend her!
Dr. Hart is an extremely nice lady! She is always willing to help when you go to her office. She talks really fast in lecture, and covers so much material in a single lecture that it can be hard to follow. The tests are really hard... and my TA for lab sucked. This was a hard class, and needs more organization!
If you attended class everyday you are guaranteed at least a B. Everything on the tests is taught in lecture. I barely used the book. Also she does extra credit assignments in lecture when attendance is low so by attending class everyday I probably gained about 20 extra credit points.
After taking this class with Dr. Sorenson, I decided to give Dr. Hart a try and went from a D in to a B(Enough Said). The thing is professors such as Sorenson sometimes act as if they've forgotten that it is their job to help students do well. He sometimes gives off the feeling that he doesnt really care even if he does. With Dr. Hart, i improved.
Dr. Hart is one of my favorite professors! She moves really fast but as with any professor you have to adjust to her teaching style. She genuinely wants her students to do well. She is very fair in her grading and helps you keep up with quizzes. Only study her slides, I just used the textbook for reference if I didn't understand from her notes.
Talks very fast, gives little references to the book, insanely hard test questions (95% short answer/ essay). Lab is the only nice part of the class.
This class is a mess. I used to like biology, and then I took this class. If your major requires a science elective, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. Take a different science elective.
I loved having Dr. Hart as a professor! Make sure you keep up with notes. She moves really fast but is willing to help if you go talk to her. Her tests are primarily based on lecture power points, with a few questions about labs. Very fair grader, and knows when she does things unfair and admits to it. Will be taking more Biology classes with her.
She is very knowledgeable but moves very quickly through her lectures! She is all over the place during lectures at times so it is very crucial that you pay attention as her tests are over mainly her lecture power points. She is willing to work with her students tho if they do not understand something!
Dr. Hart is a genuinely great person, but she is not the best professor to take this class from. The class itself is extremely unorganized, and it is pretty difficult to reach her outside of class because she has SO many students always waiting to see her during office hours. This class depends a ton on the lectures, but they are hard to follow.
One of the worst professors I have ever had and one of the worst professors at MSU. She is very knowledgeable but does not know how to teach. She never has time for anything because she is so busy with her "outside life" to grade assignments or to help students. Do not recommend taking any classes with her,
Lectures are not mandatory, however all of her exams are based on the lecture material, not the textbook.
Dr. Hart frustrated me in the beginning, I felt like she was very disorganized and unclear. As the semester went on she seemed more organized and always willing to help. She understands the wants/needs of the students. So far my favorite prof at MNSU.
Dr. Hart is a fantastic professor that really cares about her students success. Attend the lectures, she does a good job at explaining the material. Not to mention, she gives points in random lectures to all of the attending students (mostly fridays). Visit her office hours if you have issues, SHE WILL GLADLY HELP YOU.
Dr. Hart has no place to be teaching an intro bio course. She cancels lectures for silly reasons, and covers the same material every lecture. She did not cover half of the stuff on her syllabus and her test grade averages were very low. I do not recommend taking this class from her unless you have strong bio background, or you won't pass.
Dr Hart is very complicated when it comes to what is expected. She is very unorganized and doesn't let you know what is gonna be on exams. You have to work pretty hard to get a good grade and she doesn't teach the material very well, she just rambles during lectures. If you have no choice but to take her class, show up to lecture and take notes.
Good lectures. Exams are multiple choice. True/False can be tricky. Labs have a lot of writing.
The lectures are great. They move fast but she brings in illustrations that make the class fun. She is always welling to help if you don't understand. Go to office hours. There can be a line because the class is big. But it is worth it.
I was not sure what my major should be. I took her course and she changed everything. She is passionate about biology and keeps her lectures interesting. I love biology now! Take her. You wont regret it.
She was an okay teacher. She states stuff only in lecture and puts it on exams, so showing up is a must. She is accessible over email, but wasn't in her office during office hours. She adds points to every exam due to some questions being poorly written. If you have to have her, she isn't the worst, but can be very hypocritical at times.
Very lecture heavy, and goes off tangents. Shes very disorganized and not clear about material.
She literally gives out points.
She is a good person and loves her job. But, her lecturing skills are not good and she is really hard to follow because she gets distracted and gets off topic every single sentence. Better be as fast as Speedy Gonzales to write down those notes. Has terrible eyesight which causes her not to see people that have their hand raised with questions.
Not organized whatsoever and is all over the place. Won't answer your emails until it is already too late and she cares more about her outside life than she does about her students. She gives out random points on tests. She said she would make a study guide for the final but didn't. Doesn't ever stick to her word.
Actually terrible, she's sooo disorganized and slow to grade. Impossible to reach by email (as in doesn't respond). Lectures are surreal (she's been over 15 min late 3 times) her theatrics are hard to follow and she throws her voice and tends to speak way too quick, she also incorporates way more of her personal life in lectures than comfortable.
Least organized professor or academic advisor Ive had in my three years at MSU. Would not recommend to anyone. Never responds to emails. Irresponsible and lectures were basically useless in teaching me anything other than whats happening in her life not the course. Truly sad the lack of care she gives in teaching class.
Best teacher I've ever had. Tests were based on lectures. She wasn't the best at replying to emails but she has office hours. Every test was curved by at LEAST 5%. If you pay attention in lecture and study the things she gets excited about, you'll get an A. She made the class interesting. Overall an amazing teacher.
Tests are primarily on lecture material. Pay attention take notes. Key items from the previous lecture are touched on for review at the start of the next lecture (know it). Participation can give extra credit. Seems eccentric in class but very nice and helpful one on one. Email replies are very slow, go to office hours.
Dr. Hart is by far one of my favorite professors at MSU. Take advantage of talking with her outside of class, because she really does care about her students, but you have to show that you're interested in doing well. If you want to contact her you're much better off going to office hours rather than email. She makes lecture very interesting!!
Dr Hart was one of my first professors at MSU. I always attended class because I actually did not want to miss one. Everything came together for me. I got it. I think she is great. I asked her if she could be my advisor.
Professor Hart is a very nice and kind lady, however when it comes to taking a class with her, steer clear. She is very unorganized and you never have any idea really what to expect on anything. She spends many lectures going over the same material from months ago, but none of that stuff will be on the exams.
I had Hart for introductory biology. There were many students in the class, like 300. If you come to class, read, study, you will do great. She stresses what is on the exams, repeating important stuff from the last lecture at the beginning of the next lecture. She really cares about us and wanted us to learn.
Dr Hart is so smart at cellular biology, but she is the worst at teaching to students. She is very scatter-brained, talks very fast. The labs for this class took a lot of outside class time, including going in on weekends.
Cell Bio is tough but great. She knows a lot and really cares about students. She want you to understand the material. Lectures cover a lot of material. Study.
Hart is very knowledgable but is very unorganized during lecture, she skips around on slides and talks about things not on the presentation then puts those things on exams. She tends to get side tracked a lot. The class is not hard but it can be frustrating at times.
Professor Hart is a great lady. The class had a lot of students but she cared about how we did. When she writes stuff on the board it will be on a the test. She asks questions at the beginning of class too. Those are on test. We went over a lot of stuff. Study.
She is amazing. The class goes over a lot of material. Kinda hard for an intro course but she makes it interesting and I actually wanted to go to lecture. We did some cool stuff in the lab. I took this course twice cause I did not pass the first time with Secot.
I loved Dr. Hart in cell biology. She is so passionate about her field and really is enthusiastic about teaching. Sometimes she can get off topic, but overall I would definitely take another class with her.
She grades everything extremely slow, I had to email her 16 times before she graded one of my assignments,(which took THREE MONTHS) she gave the majority of my class zeros on our final paper because they were "plagiarized" which none of them were. She knows what she's talking about and might be a good professor if she wasn't absolutely insane.
Professor Hart is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is very caring and accommodating. She is one of the teachers where if you get to know her, you will have a great time in class. Very outgoing and wants to provide help to her students.
Dr. Hart has a vast knowledge on biology. The major DOWNFALL of her is her teaching method. She is very unorganized. She goes all over the place with her lectures and gets distracted very easily. Most of the time she wouldn't even lecture. She would just talk about herself. Then she would squeeze in a TON of information in the last 15-20 minutes.
Dr. Hart's lectures were awful. She went off on tangents that had nothing to do with lecture, and crammed whatever she could when she realized lecture was almost over. Textbook was online which is garbage in for a biology class. Disorganized with quizzes and test questions, including lab. Definitely don't recommend.
Dr. Hart is a wonderful professor. Shes very knowledgable in Biology and clearly explains the material. Last semester we went online in the middle, and she made the transition simple. Very charismatic and outgoing. I had to work and study hard but she is available after class and provided tutoring.
Worst professor I have ever had. Not accessible AT ALL outside of class, but also will not discuss anything with students over zoom. She skips our scheduled zoom time daily, and then posts extremely long lecture movies that we are expected to watch and take notes on, but if you have questions, she isn't ever available to answer them. Do not take.
Im sure she is knowledgeable on biology but her teaching method is awful. Possibly the worst teacher I ever had.
Cancelled class a lot and would post movies instead, but I think it's just with COVID that things are difficult. When classes were hyflex and offered in person she was an amazing professor. Super nice, but can be hard to reach out to over email. Overall I would say COVID screwed her teaching over, because she would be a good teacher for in person
By far the worst professor I have had at this school. I did well in the class but she made it clear that students learning and passing were not her priority. Her lectures are just a series of tangents with the last 5 minutes being the entire 50 minutes of content at a fast pace. Used henceforth 97 times, mostly incorrectly in one 50 minute lecture.
If you actually take time to pay attention and listen to her lectures it is not a bad course at all. All her tests are based off of her lectures but more specifically what she SAYS. Studying is needed of course. But if you take time to get to know her she is an amazing professor and person and will do whatever possible to help you succeed!
Dr. Hart is one of the most chaotic professors I have ever had but its entertaining. At first the class was intimidating but she gave so much extra credit that I ended with a 99%. She does cancel class and lab a lot which can be nice at times but also annoying. Overall if you go to her with an opinion on the assignment she will really listen!
Dr. Hart is a very good, caring professor. She's very upbeat and funny (goes off on tangents a lot), which makes class enjoyable sometimes. The only things I'd like to note is she hardly emails back and her nonexistent office hours (you're better off waiting in front of another class she teaches, probably).
I didn't have Dr. Hart for lecture but I currently have her as a lab professor. Although she often goes on tangents during lab I honestly enjoyed that more than "cookie cutter" TA lab instructors. She knows the content well and makes lab a lot more enjoyable. I feel like I am learning more because I am engaged. Caring and kind individual.
Where to begin with Dr. Hart...Dr. Hart is VERY intelligent, but the way she teaches is pure chaos. She cancels lots of classes. She spends most of her class rambling about herself mixed with biology here and there. If you are an anxious person, her chaotic energy will make you cry/feel overwhelmed. She is a very interesting/cool person though!
Dr. Hart is caring and gives out extra credit to help us. Whenever we mess something up in labs, she rarely ever gets mad. She is also very funny. She has improved on office hours compared to the past and she DOES cancel class often (which I don't mind). She can be very spontaneous and hard to follow in lectures, which is what makes her hard.
Dr.Hart is awesome, her grading is straight forward and fair. She cares about her students and doesn't try to trick you. The only complaint is that it's hard to contact her sometimes, but many students need to speak with her so it's a bit difficult.
Where to start with Dr. Hart. She is very nice and understanding, however my issue with her in this class was her inability to answer emails, rambling during lecture, talking to a student for 20+ minutes when lots of others were waiting for just a simple question, and expecting us to know we what are doing in lab without great instruction.
