I liked the class and learned alot about organization and time management.
Love her class
Really nice teacher and an overall great class- she turns off the lights and you look at some pretty interesting pictures
Unless you like art hist. this class is boring.Kralik is nice but sometimes seems a lil out there. Most of the time u sit in the dark while she shows diff. pictures which u eventually have quizzes on.Doesn't give much hw but is very unclear in her syllabus & when u try to ask her quest. about it she pushes it off by tellin u to ask her another time.
Shes okay, I guess She sporatically gave quizzes but gave you the questions before hand so they weren't that bad. If you want an easy teacher take her!
She is very easy.
She is all over the place. Every class, all you do is sit in the room in the dark while she shows you different slides of art. There is not really any work in the class, but when she does give you work, it isnt clear at all. She is a nice lady but she just all over the place.
Awesome teacher. Really enjoyed her presence.
I very much enjoyed this class. Tests are easy, as long as you pay attention when she reviews. Great teacher - very worldly woman. I was pleasantly surprised - I now have an appreciation for art that I never did before. I would recommend her.
She is the best teacher I ever took at OCC!! She is very intelligent and worldly. She also has a passion for art and history, so that makes the class even better! The one bad thing about her class was group work, however the class was still wonderful. I recomend her to anyone!
She has a passion for her subject that becomes infectious. She really tries to get everyone involved and offers great extra credit oppurtunities. I strongly recommend her class it was great!!!!!!!
I lucked out when I signed up to take her class. Not only is she passionate for Art, she has a history backround that ties into the class nicely. She also wants you to understand and appreciate Art rather than know the correct terminolgy. Great class, Take her if you can!
Class taken soley for degree requirements. Her passion and enthusiasm was contagious. I caught the art bug. Clarity wise-go with the flow. Go to class, see some incredible art and enjoy. Visit an museum and tell her what you thought. This class expands your mind. Highly recommend. Looking forward to taking her other classes.
VERY GOOD TIMES...TAKE THE CLASS EASY AS PIE
Great teacher. Really nice and enthusiastic. Tests and essay are easy. If you read the book and look at the slides you will get a good grade. If you can get into her class then do it.
a joy to be around. very willing to help and takes a lot of time to relate important information in a way you can understand. does a good job reviewing material and grades easily. she does have times where she'll go off on unrelated tangents, but still covers the material well. very likeable and highly recommended.
I had zero intrest in taking this class, although I do enjoy some art. I am NOT an art major either, so this was originally my "red flag" class, the one I'd have to worry about. Not so- shes very nice, clear and I would take another class with her in a heartbeat.
I'll be honest... this class wasn't much fun, but Dr. Kraik was awesome. She was pretty much given a class with no curriculum guidelines and it was only one credit. But she was an easy-going teacher, and she was fair. She's a cool lady and I suggest taking her class, cause chances are it will be a class where it's 3 credits/with curriculum.
this lady is friggin awesome! totally love her enthusiasm! knows her stuff! not too much work, and when she assigns it, its so fun! take her classes-you'll love her even though some of the material might be boring-she makes it fun. A++ teacher
I took her arthistory1 class online. I was super easy. you view her powerpoint then you give you opinion on a piece of art from that chapter. i couldnt be easier. she also did not give tests or quizzes. zero effort got me a C+. If you have to take art-181&182 , take them online w/ Kralik
I took this course via the internet over the summer 5 week term. It was great. She had these Powerpoint Presentations that went with the textbook subject matter; it was like sitting in class! Mandatory discussions via the message board where you had the chance to say what you thought with no fear of right or wrong. Great class-loved it.
AWESOME!!!! I love art but HATE art history and somehow i actually learned in this class! She had been ill for a bit of the class and there was not much work in the middle but her way of taching is that you teach to each other as well as learn from her. amazing class! TAKE HER
No Comments
Her class is veeeerrryyyy easy! You pretty much learn without realizing it.
This teaceher is AWESOME! i took her online class and she makes everything so easy, you cant fail! there are no assignments or quizzes, just weekly discussions you have to participate in and 20 min power point slides to watch. she is so nice and makes learning about art history fun and interesting
I took art history 1 with her. She is AMAZING. So so easy theres really no way to fail I totally would tell someone to take her. She asks the class to assign how much everything they do is worth. Its really the easiest class I ever too and kinda interesting. She loves participation. So so easy you would be a fool not to take her its an easy A.
Prof. Kralik is definitely one of the sweetest women.. she's extremely helpfull and wants you to enjoy class. She lets the class vote on the percentages that make up your grade and she always gives us 15 min. breaks. I would def. recommend her.. i dont even like art it was just something i had to take and i loved her so much im taking Art History 2
Prof. Kralik is AWESOME! I had her online for Art hist. 1 and she was amazing. makes everything as easy as possible and is VERY helpful and VERY understanding. Not a lot of work, need to log on only once or twice a week and participate in the discussion boards. DEFINATELY TAKE HER CLASS!
If you cant pass this class then drop out. Just pat attention and take notes and she will take into account that you tried. only 2 1 page essays and about 4 tests including final. loves this class< great patient teacher.
Professor Kralik is great! She is very upbeat and genuinely enthusiastic about art! She really tries to make you think. It's not all about names and dates. There is a lot of lecturing, though, so there is potential to daydream a bit. A few essays and quizzes in her class, but nothing too extensive. Big emphasis on participation and group work.
I took her online class over the summer and she is a great professor. All you do is sign in at least every other day to join in the discussions and comment on what you learned, and listen to her power points which are about 20 minutes. She has made me very interested in art. Easy class and she seems very nice. Take this class its great!!
Professor Kraylik is one of my favorite professors at OCC. Shes a very sweet, squishy woman with a very high IQ. She treats everyone with much respect and deserves respect.
TAKE THIS TEACHER! Probably my favorite college professor. Helpful, engaging, really got me interested in Art History 1. Trying to take more classes with her in the future.
This is by far the best online class I have ever taken. I didn't think it was possible to learn as much as I did via an online class. Definitely recommend taking this class with this professor.
Very boring I hate sitting in her dark classroom. She is nice and grades fair. I took her for art history 1 and 2, I got a B in art his. 1 so I took her again but I hate art so maybe thats why I dread going there. No need to buy a book. and the big question is SO WHAT ba haha
I loved this class SO MUCH! Prof Kralik made the info so interesting and u could really tell that she loves the subject she teaches. She's always there to be helpful and very easy to contact. Her class is so easy as long as u pay attention and tkae minmal notes you'll pass. The book is very interesting I wished we used it a little bit more thou!
took her for online. made things quite simple. as long as you do the work [which trust me is not alot] and watch the slideshows, you are good to go. shes very nice via email =]
This class was extremely boring but I didn't mind going because she is such a sweet person. she is very passionate about the subject and she makes the class easy for her students. the only thing i didnt like is that she taught from slides every day and didnt switch up and we just looked @ pictures all day. but other than i highly recommend her :)
I am taking her online right now and yes she is a nice lady but all we have done all semester is discussion boards. we have not had one quiz or paper. I have no idea how I am doing! She doesnt post any grades ! worst online class ever.
she's very fair, but not easy. you will actually learn many interesting stories in her class on ancient art. the subject is as boring as they gets but she does her best to make it fun.she is also a very busy person so she might skip a few classes
Took Art History 1 online. Although I did not receive my grade yet, I had to miss a section we learned and at the end of this semester she opened up ALL the discussion boards to revise and add more posts. AWESOME! Very understanding teacher. I emailed her 2x during the semester and got a response VERY quick.
I had her online - the best class ever!Pr.Kralik easy going teacher and person. No quizzes, no papers - just discussions.Learned a lot since I was a zero in Arts.If you do a little further research she'll appreciate it.Will love your pictures from museums and historical places.Definitely recommend her.
I took Prof. Kralik for Art History 1 & ended up not liking her class. No h/w other than 2 essays & a group project presentation. No tests, but her quizzes consisted of showing images & having you write about 4 of the 8 images shown. I walked out of the class on the last day feeling like I didn't learn anything significant about art history.
Awesome!! I took Prof. Kralik for Summer first 5 week Ar History 1 online, She was fantastic. Learning was fun. She opened my eyes to the beauty of art around the world without being boring! Will definitely take her for AH2. She responds to your questions immediatley!
I took her 5 week online art history I summer course. She only grades on participation. All you have to do is read the chapter, watch her slide shows and post on the discussion boards. She also offers extra credit. The only downfall was I had no idea what my grade was until the course was over. I ended up with a B+. I would recommend the class.
Good teacher. Very simple
I enjoyed her online class. You have to read and participate in discussions, but that's normal for college courses! She responds to emails and compliments you when you do some extra research.
took her online 5 week summer class and don't regret it at all. class was completely based on dicussion so as long as you sign on every once in a while, your sure for an A. the book provided the pictures to comment on but you could just look them up in the powerpoints and online so you don't really need it. i would def recommend. take her!!
I love everything about this Kralik. She makes art history interesting as much as she possible can, she is easy going and extremely helpful and wants to please all students. If you are taking any art history I strongly suggest taking prof Kralik!!!
Amazing professor!! She is so passionate about art and her students, I loved her class. Quizzes were easy, she gave reviews the day before. Had 3 essays in the class. Simple grading, and a collaborative group project. Take her, she is great! At times she is a little scattered, but overall she's great.
Just finished Art History I over the summer session, Dr. K is awesome, walks you through the history of Art with endless stories that make sense, she makes it fun to go to class which is something most professors don't do, highly recommend Dr. K
Took her 5 week class in the 2nd summer session. I can't stand art history cause it's so boring, but she's an absolutely awesome teacher! Made it a lot more engaging and interesting than it actually was. Highly recommend her. You'll learn some new things, while having a really great time! Take her!
She is absolutely wonderful! Such a sweetheart and SO understanding. You must attend class for the lectures but she makes them extremely painless. I have always loved art history but Prof. Kralik's stories are unbelievable. I took her 5 week course only had 2 tests of identifying Slides (artwork) The class was a blast. Highly Recommended <3
I took her 5 Week Online Summer class. It was great! I was dreading taking this class but Prof. Kralik opened my eyes to the beauty of Art around the world. The class was great, no tests, just discussion boards. Just watch the interesting PowerPoints and write actively on the discussion boards. I got an A and would take her again in a heart beat.
Shes such a sweetheart and grades very easily, she likes group work but she makes it fun and intresting.
Dr. Kralik is an awesome professor. If your not the best note taker (like me) then its not a problem. All her quizzes are on art recognition. You may want to look over the pictures in the texbook for the quizzes, that always helped me. Easy A! Fun class!
Awesome Class, Awesome Teacher.
Best Professor at OCC period! Extremely passionate about teaching and has over 30 years of experience. She has an Ivy Leauge education but could teach art history to anyone. Also a very sweet person who wants everyone to get an A. If you show up to most classes, take some notes and memorize the slides you will do fine. Definitely take this class!
ARTS182 was the best class I have ever taken. I absolutely adore art history., so having an interest in the subject definitely helps. The Professor is beyond passionate, she brings you to the worlds we talk about. I found her class to be magical and eye opening. Definitely do not use your cellphone in her class and PAY ATTENTION (you should a
A very nice lady and very passionate about art...something i could care less about.. now I find myself noticing things in buildings and on tv i never payed attention to before! her quizzes are easy but she is very quirky how she gives them and wants lots of participation which is a good thing. dont sit in the back thats whats gonna make u a succes
Absolutely Take this class! Took Dr Kralik online, the class was an absolute pleasure. It was discussion based, with many threads so you could pick topics that interest you in each section. Most of the class ended up posting way more than we had to because the discussions were so fascinating.
I am currently taking this professor ONLINE and adore her. Weekly discussion and quizzes. Always interesting topics and many to choice from. Two small writing assignments that are about your opinion. Easy A on top of learning new things. Defiantly rare. :) I recommend her!
i never liked art history until i had this professor she really makes art interesting. you will def learn something in this class. My favorite professor!
Prof. Kralik is the best! I took her class as an elective. I knew nothing about art and had no interest in art coming into it. She made the class very interesting. She is also very helpful and willing to work with you, as well as answer any questions or share stories. Also an easy A as long as you study for the tests. Definitely recommend.
Honestly I was not looking forward to taking Art History II, but it was shockingly easy! As long as you attend and take her notes, you will have no problem with her test, plus you don't even need the book!
Professor was on time and very interested in subject. She works with schedules and conflicts, is very approachable, and passionate abut the arts. The class is easy and if you pay attention you are almost guaranteed an A.
I had her over the summer. She is a very chill teacher, she requires class participation as a part of your grade along with 4 quiz grades. Pay attention to what she says and the class will be a breeze.
Brilliant professor and a great woman. Very knowledgeable and loves what she teaches. Very clear with quizzes and 1 paper. Easy A if you pay attention
One of the best professors out there. She is helpful, accommodating and incredibly knowledgable in the subject. Loved every minute of her classes!
Took her online 5 week summer class. She was VERY friendly & approachable. Grades were based on discussion boards, quizzes that you could take as many times, and 2-1200 word essays. Essays were easy and opinionated and she was VERY fair in grading. Would love to take her in person to meet her. Definitely gained more appreciation of art. Take her!
I loved Prof Kralik!! Wether you are interested in Art or not, she will make you love it. I had no plans to take Art history II but I am going to now as an elective because she is that amazing.
This class is AWFULLLL! This is her class: she sits in her desk, scrolls through powerpoints of scattered pieces of artwork, talks about them in great detail, wants you to write EVERYTHING SHE SAYS DOWN because her test is showing RANDOM images she showed in class WEEKS AGO! You better memorize every single piece she shows AND in the book or FAIL.
Do not understand how this lady has high ratings...she I HORRIBLE. Sure she is nice but all she does is sit and put up random pictures and all you do is write down facts. Then her tests are again random pieces of art and it's hard to figure out their name based on notes. Would be 10x better if she provided the pieces some how either online book etc
Dr. Kralik is really passionate and knowledgeable - that's really what made this class for me. Make a friend in class at the very beginning of the semester because you'll have to do in-class discussions often and those discussions count for a high percentage of your final grade. Best OCC professor I've had / can hope to have.
I took Professor Kralik for the 2 week winter intensive course. Although art history can be very boring at times, she did make it as interesting as possible! A lot of group work was required, as well as attendance. As long as you take notes, you don't really need a book! She was very helpful and I found the class interesting.
I really liked her. Totally outgoing, very sweet, and knows her stuff! Will give you any help you need. She is a good teacher who runs her class fairly and treats you like an adult, not a child. Respect is the biggest thing for me. Love her!
Professor Kralik literally made me want to become an art history major. She's so passionate about everything she talks about and you can't help but become engrossed in her storytelling!! Would Suggest her to everyone I know!
Horrible professor!! If you are a visual learning like myself, I recommend NOT to take her!!! How she conduct class is sitting in her desk, scrolling through pictures and lecture while YOU have to write EVERYTHING she is saying. She also did not have a syllabus or explained how class is conducted or what she expects from the students.
She went over a bunch of different art related things for the entire lectures, it really wasn't a bad class, she's nice and understanding if you participate, don't fall asleep or not show up for class, basically be a good college student and you pass. Will require studying the text for quizzes, I'd take her again if I had to
WONDERFUL WOMAN AND PROFESSOR. Always super helpful, offering great advice and trying to help the student achieve. One of the best professors I've had
Art history is her life. She loves the subject, its boring but she makes it doable. She expects participation and is not afraid to call you out. NO CELLPHONES. she would go on random rampages during class. Book helps but not a necessity. Her tests, she calls quizzes are a joke. no paper. no tests. just the quiz that you write whatever you want to.
Kralik LOVES art. I can only imagine what her house looks like. She does power point lectures with pictures. The quizzes, are easy! she gives a review the class before. She shows 10 slides of art, and you choose 5 and 2 bonus ones. She lets you have scrap paper, which i would write a ton of info at home and use it. Is it cheating? maybe?
Dr. Kralik is a wonderful teacher. You will learn about ART History, because she wants you to! The course is difficult at times, but you can pass easily if you do the work. Very fair. Very encouraging.
Incredibly easy class. Dr. Kralik lectures about a slideshow, write down some history she says about the artwork, and make a bullet point study guide about 6 pieces of art from the review of what is on quizzes, take quiz, YOU WILL PASS! Anyone that says this class is difficult can't comprehend college. This is OCC for Pete's sake! Didn't buy book
One of my favorite professors! this woman is not only knowledgable but is a great lecturer. Her passion and love for art will make anyone fall for the subject. If you serious about your studies, do take her, if not, don't waste her time.
Marvelous professor. I was recommended by a friend to take her class, wasn't really big into art history, but became interested when I went on my trip to Europe this past summer and can honestly say that I can't wait to take another course with her. Even if you're taking it just for credits, she'll make every credit count. Extraordinary human being
she is very nice and laid back. Pay attention in class and put some effort and you will get an easy A.
Bad grader. Doesn't respond to emails. DO NO TAKE THIS TEACHER.
Not my favorite class. I would avoid her. You have to basically teach yourself because you don't learn in class. I don't understand how she came up with my grades.
One of the best professors at OCC hands-down! Dr. Kralik is an inspiring lady with a real passion for what she does. Art to me is already an interesting subject; she only served to make it even more interesting. Gives very clear directions for all of the few assignments, and is always there for her students. DEFINITELY take Dr. Kralik if you can!
Great professor. Honestly she is very passionate and lectures the entire class but the class is an easy A. Quizzes are so easy you will get an A in this class if you just show up. There are four quizzes and 1 paper and that is all. Just participate every now and then.
AMAZING professor. I cannot stress that enough. She is so interesting and so engaging in class- you can tell she's very passionate about what she's studying. You could probably get through the class without the book but it made studying for tests so much easier.
She is very funny and quirky (claims to be an old hippy). MUST PARTICIPATE and KNOW SPELLING OF IMPORTANT BUILDINGS. Makes a boring class fun, talks a lot, definitely knows her stuff. Really wants you to enjoy the class, and it's pretty easy to. Not much homework, but does have "assignments". Tests are easy as long as you study your material.
Loved the class, she made it interesting, she grades fair and has a review before quizzes, make sure you take notes when she lectures
This class was EXTREMELY easy. This profession spent 98% of the time talking and tends to make things interesting enough, explaining the actual logic and engineering behind the works of art. Any written work she assigns is no more a couple sentences, the quizzes consisted of giving a few bulleted facts for our choice of a few pieces. Very lenient.
Took her for a short semester. Very easy to score an A, but she is moody, and the classes were a drag. Didn't need the book. Gave quizzes that you can choose what you want to write about. Must participate. Made up her own grading system- an A can only be earned if your grades are 95+.
Honestly, she is the rudest professor I have ever had. She talks about students behind their backs when they leave the room and she has no respect for anyone. This woman is incredibly unprofessional. I would not take her it you want to remain sane. She acts like her class is the only class that matters. If I could give her a rating of 0 I would.
Dr. Kralik is a wonderful professor. She is very passionate about her field and her lectures are extremely fascinating. The quizzes are easy if you just take notes and attend class! That's it. Pay attention to the lectures and you will get an A. Also, don't be afraid to speak up, she likes discussion.
Very rude. Would act like her class is the only thing that matters. Says she's on your side but she really doesn't care about you. Doesn't ever put grades in. I would not recommend her at all. I felt like I spent so much time paying attention, recording her lessons and taking as many notes as possible for nothing.
I took Prof. Kralik for Art History and I thought it was going to be the most painfully boring class but it wasn't! She is extremely passionate about what she's teaching and it really shows. Take the trip to the art museum in NY with her, you'll have the best time ever! I'm a serious art buff now haha!
When I say this woman is SO DISRESPECTFUL I MEAN IT. She curses, constantly stops class to yell at you to move your pens (EVEN THO I NEVER ONCE LOOKED AT MY NOTES ... NOT ONCE) and i got A/Bs on all quizzes. Always says we can leave class if we don't want to take this class EVEN THO IT'S A REQUIREMENT FOR MOST MAJORS! rude rude rude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT'S COLLEGE AND THIS WOMAN WILL THREATEN TO KICK YOU OUT OF CLASS IF YOUR PEN ISN'T MOVING EVEN THOUGH NOT ONCE DID I USE MY NOTES. SHE TAKES THE CLASS SO PERSONAL. SO DISRESPECTFUL !!!!!!!!! NEVER HATED A PROFESSOR SO MUCH. IF YOU NEED TO TAKE IT TAKE IT ONLINE
buckle up because you are in for a 15 week of darkness and pure disrespect. Buy your ear plugs while on sale and sharpen those pencils because you will be forced to write pointless notes.
Professor Kralik is not a bad professor, i very much enjoyed being in her class, her passion in the field makes the class really fun and interesting. Using a computer for notes helps you IMMENSELY. You can note down every word she says and get straight A's in class so easy. Very sweet lady and will help you anytime.
Awesome professor and really cares about art, if you pay attention it is an easy A. It is amazing to see how excited she gets with the art. With that being said she is very moody and gets offended very easily as well as offends very quickly. DONT check phone in class, she will kick you out and lecture the class about how disrespectful it is.
She is not a bad professor. Her lectures for class can sometimes be very unorganized and doesn't clearly answer questions. She is passionate about art and it really shows. If you pay attention and write notes you will easily pass with an A. Try not to use your phone and respect her as you wish to be respected. Overall easy class and easy grader.
I love professor Marilyns class because she is so sweet, caring and passionate. She is so flexible for deciding about the quiz deadlines, and she isnt giving too much assignments. I recommend Marilyns class because she is a great professor.
Great professor, really passionate about the class and cares about students. Made the class very interesting and fun, only downside are the "quizzes". 3 quizzes, only grades other than participation. They were extremely hard and she expected you to know about paintings she never reviewed, very frustrating. Spent hours studying. Was good otherwise.
She makes the class fairly simple. Dont have an opinion on art? Dont go. She will call you out for being on your phone. If you have any type of social anxiety and cant find a partner for class, she will out you and embarrass the life out of you for no reason. Dont take her unless you truly have to.
Professor is really good and cares about art however the class is really boring (to me). I like art and all but the class is mainly her talking for a long time about very specific details in the art and not a lot of note taking on the students end which was very boring for me.
Its not that the course is difficult, its that she makes it difficult. She seems as if shes always on the verge of losing it. Ask questionsget sarcastic answer. She is very impatient. She expects you to know everything in the book and talks down on you if you dont, even if you express having difficulty accessing it, many did. (its online)
Dont even try to look at your phone once. Not even to look at the time. She will call you out as if you committed a crime. And if you have any type of social anxiety, dont take her, shell force you to find a partner and if you cant shell call you out. Stay away
Dont do it
if your an introvert don't take her , if your an extrovert take her and get an easy A its that simple!
Dr. Kralik taught me so much. She cares about her students and really wants them to succeed. She is always available for help. Loved this class.
My grandma passed away as I was in class and she repeatedly told me to get off my phone or I would have to leave her classroom.. I was in the depths of despair so I couldn't put myself in the situation to tell her why I was using my phone. I didn't find her friendly, and she wouldn't care for what students liked that they had learned.
I genuinely cannot comprehend why anyone wouldn't adore this woman. She grades you on two things, final and midterm, and gives As to practically anyone and even let students hand them in weeks late. She truly is just there for the art that she loves & wants the students to love it too. She doesn't force partners. I'm an introvert & she understood.
She was very friendly and very caring about our concerns/needs and very understanding. However I found the class very boring. Every single class was heavily lectures. There was 0 papers and very few quizzes. The class was very simple and an easy A, but just so boring I found myself needing to go to the bathroom a lot just to wake myself up.
Professor Kralik is an okay professor but she provides no notes or clear indications of what we need to know. She loves to lecture on and on about paintings and here I would find myself getting bored very easily. She NEVER answers emails. This class only consists of class discussions and a few quizzes, so its rather easy.
Reading all of the comments below are mind blowing. If you love history and art, combine the two and it's truly an amazing class. It's inspirational to see how much she loves art history, it made me love it even more which I didn't believe to be possible. As for the phones, keep it away, it's rude to have it out. Common sense.
Doctor Kralik is a amazing professor. Sure there were issues that were encountered during the semester but it was not a big deal. she doesn't really input grades online so you have to ask for your grade, but as long as you do the few assignments and put effort in you will pass with a A. she isn't against the students/ wants students to succeed
Enjoyed what we learned even though we did not get through all the course material. Professor Kralik was very knowledgable and passionate. Despite this semester's set back, she came back to class ready to teach which I respect. Just wish we had access to the slides and some sort of course outline. Also take my word DO NOT GO ON YOUR PHONE!
Professor Kralik is very knowledgable in her field and has a clear passion for the subject. There were few assignments, most of the grade is based on participation in discussions.
very easy. just never take your phone out. no exams no quizzes, mostly discussion based. very few on line discussions. she just isnt good at navigating canvas which is fine .. just ask her for your grade and she will let you know. great professor,
She was a great professor and had a great passion for what she taught. Even though the class wasn't quite for me, she tried her best to keep it interesting. Do not take your phone out. She is very hard on that. Also, there are a lot of discussion posts, tests, and quizzes. Make sure you memorize your notes.
Kralik is a passionate and knowledgeable teacher! Struggles with technology/assignment clarity through canvas, however lectures are personable, engaging, and taught with gusto! Assignments are discussion boards due weekly, tests are discussed thoroughly with a review and very simple if briefly studied. Participation is not expected nor credited.
Be ready to take a lot of notes. Quizzes are not on material we are taught in class. Not ADHD friendly.. that was my biggest struggle in the class. She gives a few breaks throughout the class which are helpful. Gets mad when computers and phones are out.
Professor Kralik is passionate about art, though her lectures can be lengthy. Participation is key, with weekly discussions and challenging quizzes. unstuckstudy proved helpful for studying those tricky art details.
If you don't attend her lectures to see what material she is showing, then this class will be difficult, otherwise it's a cake walk. Does not allow Phones out and makes people talk to one another at times THATS A GOOD THING. We had 15 discussions and 2 Quizes. She offered lots of support and care when I experienced a death in my family. Loved Her❤️
Love her teaching style and attendance is not mandatory but it helps showing up since a lot of material is covered each class. Class consists of taking notes, discussions with peers, and an occasional paper test of recalling art. I took her for two classes and learned a lot. The online textbook helps study.
I'm an OCC alum and I've taken every single Art History course taught by Dr. Kralik. She is so passionate about what she teaches. Every lecture is filled with so much knowledge and although her class is mainly lecture, everything she says is gold. She is such a delight and is the reason I am minoring in Art History. My all time favorite professor
I don't even know where to start with professor Kralik, she is the best professor I have ever had. I took two of her classes and she teaches what college SHOULD BE. The most caring and understanding professor, she makes you engage with what you're learning. She realized I loved the class so much that she gave me a few books to further my knowledge.
A very boring class. She would not fix my attendance grade and I kept getting emails I was failing even though I never missed a class, but she refused to fix it. The quizzes were not very hard just very annoying and too much information. She would add stuff to quizzes we talked about once or sometimes never and expected us to know it.
Professor Kralik is really sweet. She wants you to succeed. The only thing was that she graded all the assignments but didn't post the overall grades so it said N/A for the class the whole semester. Other than that I would take this course again and she was understandable and make the lecture really interesting.
If you're not interested in looking at paintings 24/7 this class will be boring. Only 2 quizzes. Notes/Slideshows/Reviews are never posted. Attendance is not mandatory but if you miss one day, you miss a lot of material. Professor is nice, but can come across as rude or overreacting sometimes. Do not take this course unless it's required for major.
