She is a great professor. The class requires you to think deep; if you can't, then don't take the class. You should also consider dropping out of college if you can't handle her course work.

Her class Was actually pretty fun. You make a circle and talk about the information. Tests are essays (not that hard if you take good notes). Essay writing but allows you to turn in late as long as u turn them in and don't fall behind. She works with you.

She is a weird teacher but fun. She tries her best to help us out and there is always a way to get an A. There is an abundance of extra credit and very few test. She is a good teacher to take.

She is a great teacher. Plenty of chances for extra credit. Must read for participation, but good discussions in class. Very nice and interesting teacher.

I am in the midst of taking her class, which I really enjoy. She is inspiring and very challenging. Take her only if you are willing to show "Greek" dedication. Overall she is one of the best teachers I've ever had!!!

this class was very enjoyabale. MWF 8am is the time i took it this semester. Test n assignments are easy if you think. All in all, she tought me alot about myself and life alongside the subject matter. Super class. billy.

She is very interesting and knowledgeable. I enjoyed being in her class. However, if your not good at writing good essays and thinking critically and deep into the subject you'll just a B in her class.

I loved this class. She makes it fun and easy to learn. She is willing to help you any way she can if you are falling behind. I would recommend this class to everyone.

Prof. McLatchey made me think more then all of my other professors combined. I walked away from her class with not only a great understanding of myth, but also a greater understanding of life and inspired.Slow about returning papers, but reads every word.

what happened to my post yesterday? under review?started her class monday and was surprised. my friends were right, she seems knowledgeable and she is hot.

I took her greek/roman class my 2nd term and ended up taking her this term b/c I liked her so much.She is very nice and makes you seem like the greatest writer in the world if you think about what you write.If not, then you shouldn't be so boring.Take her class!

she is a very nice lady...always has a smile on your face. She does put people on the spot a lot in class about the stories. But there are only 2 exams and 2 essays, so it's pretty easy. She has a lot of passion for what she teaches and grades easily.

This teacher trys 2 scare you in the 1st-3rd weeks to try and spread out people, you have to read the storys to be involove in the conversations and when your involved she gives extra credit and she give frequent quizs but like 2-3 questions on topics concerning the storys good teacher explainations

she grows on you, at first she is boring but after awhile you learn to like her. she mean well, she grades pretty easy and the class is pretty easy, not hard at all and I would recommend her.

GREAT teacher...She's a sweetheart...she's very understanding and doesn't care about attendance; all she cares about is if you did your reading(& she will quiz you).The entire semester was just a giant mythology discussion w/ only 2 papers to write. I highly recommend her!

there are 3 five page papers, but they are easy... there are lots of little quizzes and extra credit opportunities. She is very passionate about this subject. SHE LOVES THE gREEKS

She is honestly an awsome and easy teacher. She is into what she does and talks about. There are little quizzes which just require a quick look over and three five page essays which one just needs to elaborate on. I totally recommend her!

EXCELLENT TEACHER!! Do not be fooled by any bad comments! She is knowledgable, helpful, and wants her students to think and broaden their ideas. I recommend her for any class she teaches. You'll walk away with much more than a grade !

She is the easiest teacher ever! I went MAYBE 1/3 of the time and got an A. She gives you a million extra credit opps and tells you exactly what is going to be on the midterm and final. She doesn't give tests, and her quizzes you can get a zero on 95% of them and still get an A.

One of the easier teachers. if you write your papers on time you dont ever have to go. The in class quizzes dont count for anything and you can even miss a real test and be ok. Just do an extra credit paper or two. Highly Recomended

The papers! What? They are quite confusing gotta be 5 pages,but papers on sculptures. She's really good teacher, but the papers they are just hard to bs bc of the length!

Now here's a very dedicated teacher towards the subject. She knows what she's talking about, and a person would really have to think hard to be on the same level as she is. She makes the subject very interesting, and she challenges her students. Her work isn't easy, but she's a very good teacher.

Prof McLatchey is an AWESOME teacher. You will learn so much and it is very easy to follow and complete the assignments. I HATE humanities & she is the first to keep my interest. Attend class as often as you can, because she makes all needed info very clear. TAKE HER!

McLatchey is the best teacher, if she teaches any other humanities you best believe i'll be taking her. Definitely take her, NO HOMEWORK, just essays and she gives you a 2-3 week window, and tests are easy. Just listen and take notes on videos

This chick is awesome, She went to Harvard to get her degree so she knows her stuff. She does quiz you on your myth, so reading helps, but you go over every story nearly 3 times in the class. I never read anything and passed with an A. Very soft spoken but gets her point out. Exams aren't too bad if you study.

take her before you leave vcc! she's so freakin smart. she challenges you to think hard about the myths, but also about life. she's not easy, but she's sweet & she's fair. you gotta read -- she'll quiz you.

This class is awesome. The teacher really knows what she's talking about and challenges you to think outside the box. You will have to work hard, write papers and keep up with your readings but it's sooooo worth it.

EASY, she lets your turn in extra credit every week, you CAN NOT FAIL...you have to read a story every week and have a little quiz on it, but its nothing. Grades fair on both essays. Very smart, and funny. Class is fun, and goes by fast. She went to harvard so she knows a lot. But she stays on your level, you don't feel stupid. LIKE HER LOTS!!!

She is pretty easy as long as you read the stories. She gives a quiz on the story at the beginning of every class. If you can't keep up with the reading, then don't take her class. She does grade pretty easy on the 5 page papers that are due, but she grades hard on the quizzes. Double check everything, she is known to make mistakes in grading.

She is great!! If you want to learn new things, ideas, and thoughts take her. She will challenge the way you think. She gave lots of tests to give the students an opportunity to do better. You only have to write 3 short essays and lots of extra credit. There is no way a person can fail this class. She is the best!

She is great I really enjoyed this class! Please beware of her many quizzes! She loves to give them routinely after a reading so please don't be late on those days because she does not have do overs. Besides that she is really cool and open minded! I definetly recommend her to anyone interested in learning about Gilgamesh, Achilles and the Trojans!

Mclatchey was a wonderful professor. She is a very intelligent woman and her enthusiasm will keep you motivated throughout the course. There is no reason why anyone should have a problem in this class. You are allowed to do endless amounts of extra credit and as long as you read the material assigned you will pass with an A.

Prof McLatchey was awesome. Very helpful as long as you go to class and show effort. A lot of cramming for the final which turned out to really not be needed. 50 question multiple choice but a lot of trick questions. Just do the work and you'll be great.

McLatchey is an incredibly intelligent, well-spoken prof. She was engaging and entertaining, possessed an excellent sense of humor and provoked thoughts about human nature. I highly recommend taking her class for the humanities requirement!!!

She is a wonderful Professor. Make sure that you keep up with the work, it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but its not that horrible. She is very clear on what she wants on exams and papers. Grades lightly on essays so as long as you sound like u know what you are talking about you should be fine...

I am taking her Mythology Class. She is very nice and the class is very interesting. She assigns two 5 page papers and there are quizzes on the readings almost every class. Lots of class discussions and she is very knowlegable, but sometimes is a little too into the subject.

McLatchey is awesome. She makes you work. You'll fail the course if you don't do your reading because she loves quizzes, but the payoff is great. Great class discussions and she makes the readings interesting becasue she connects them to real life. Take her before you leave VCC. Best course I ever took -- anywhere!

Just read the myths and be prepared to answer a few factual questions on them when you come to class. If you do that, you'll jack your grade up high enough that you won't have to worry too much about midterm and final.

Exactly what I need in a humanities teacher: Easy. Let's face us, nobody wants to take these humanities classes, but she makes it painless. Doesn't force you to write papers about topics you really could care less about. Just show up.

-LOVED- this class. We all know humanities classes are a waste, but I enjoyed this one. No stupid papers to write, unless you want to for E.C., she's got jokes, BUT her tests aren't the easiest. You can tell what's goin to be on them though but what she talks most about in class. If you have to suffer a HUM class, her class is the one to take.

Took 20th Century with her. Very nice and passionate about the subject. Quizzes are take-home and tests are fairly easy. Take notes and it should be fine.

i took her for enlightenment and romanticism and her class changed my life! i found the information absolutely intriguing. she gives students the opportunity to discuss their own philosophies and she herself is very wise and philisophical.her intense passion for this subject never gave the class a dull moment. definitely recommend taking her!!!

Wow what a mistake it was to take her. Her 20th Century class is hard and it's a survey course! Ended up with a B, but I had to work really hard. Weekly quizzes, plus h/w every weekend. She says its not mandatory, but if you don't do it, you are screwed for the quizzes.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. I had no interest in the subject at all, but she made me love it. A little technically challenged, but such a great speaker. She loved having student discussions, and it made class so fun. And if you study really hard for the final and wow her, you can be exempt. HW is extra credit, but reading is vital. TAKE HER!

Good teacher. knows alot about the subject. occasional video from vcc library. Be prepared to participate she randomly picks people to read or answer questions. scantron Exams were easy. The hardest part was remembering the dates and details. pick her. oh and i had to buy 2 thin textbooks (~$60)

Very smart. Very fair. She's on your side. Gives lots of quizzes, so you have to do the reading. Calls on people randomly, so you have to stay awake. She links the course stuff to the issues of the present time, so it's interesting. Take her. She's one of the best teachers at VCC.

Hummanities isn't a hard class. McLatchey states at the begining of her class that it is an easy A - all others are wrong. She is right. The level of difficulty in her class is next to that of a High School Class and it makes me so happy. She's laid back, doesn't like when you txt, get up to use the bathroom. Otherwise, take her and enjoy your A.

No guaranteed A's in this course, but you learn a lot! McLatchey is fair and really nice, but she makes you work. You have to stay up with the reading cuz she gives quizzes like daily! Take her for mythology. She's awesome! A bunch of little writing assignments in class and one paper, plus lots of quizzes to make you do the reading. But, she connects all the stuff we read to real life, so it's interesting. Plus she's always smiling and fair.

I took her for an 8:30 a.m. intro to hum. Lots of slides that make the reading easier, plus lots of tests to give you mor chances to earn a decent grade. Big class but she keeps you awake by randomly calling on people and sometimes shes funny. Take her if your looking for a hum class you can stand.

Had her for morning class @ 8:30, Kept the class alive and interesting and i fell in love with the myths....Take her if you wat to learn!!!!!!Will teach every concept of each myth and make you understand!

She is a great professor. Sometimes I think she thinks of herself as a God which is a good thing while teaching these myths. Lots of quizzes but they help your grade if you don't do well on the exams because they can be difficult. Do your readings!!!

Professor McLatchey is an amazing teacher! Her tests are based exactly on her lectures & notes she provides, & although she expects you to complete a lot of reading before classes - she reviews all the readings very thoroughly to help you understand the material. Didn't think Enlightenment & Romanticism could be that interesting, but she made it!

This professor does require a lot of reading. Know the facts for class she does give quizes, but if you are confused she goes over the readings in class and relates it to something that happened today. The tests are not hard if you know the readings. I would recomend this teacher.

I took Ms. Mclatchey when I was at VCC. She is still an inspiration to me many years later. I am a teacher now and I hope to make the same impact on my students.
